Blew my expectations. Definitely a gem that you wouldn’t want to miss in the heart of Morris Plains. Highly recommend the mix shawarma platter and falafel!!! Owner was extremely friendly and helpful. There’s parking on the street or in the back.

I love eating here. I started out with the sandwiches, and then gave in and tried a platter. As great as the sandwiches are, the platter was just amazing. I've had chicken shawarma, felafel, lamb kebabs; everything is prepared SO well. I'm sorry I don't live closer; I'd probably be eating here once a week if it was a shorter trip.

I haven't visited in a long time...however since then they have updated their place..it was a nice vibe...me and coworkers went to pick food up... Everyone was happy with their food

Fabulous food in an unassuming storefront. Dined in because we were visiting in the area, but most patrons seemed to get take-out. Lamb kebabs and baba ganoush were wonderful.

July 2024 Taste not to the par especially chicken taste sour. Prices are too high. You need to control the situation to be in top spot in morris plains. Wishing you good luck. Customer since 2011.. 5 years ago.. Tasty food and quick service. Portions have been considerably reduced over a time.

Hidden Gem of Morris County: this place, while it might be small, has much to offer. The flavor and freshness of the dishes were the first thing I noticed, and the owner was kind and attentive. You get a family-feeling from this place. There are tables to sit at if you wish. I took my order to go, I inhaled the whole plate--couldn't get enough! I can't wait to bring my friends and family here!

GREAT Mediterranean food and so happy to have this right in town! The food is authentic and well-made. The atmosphere is clean, and the people are friendly. They run a great business here in Morris Plains and I am happy to have this option for healthy food in the area!

Far and away the best falafel in NJ - and the best humus I've had outside the Middle East!

I ordered food to go about half hour before they closed and it seems that sent what was left. I had a soggy wilted Mediterranean salad, cauliflower and eggplant also soggy, hummus was ok but they threw 2 pita breads with no wrapper in the bag that were hard. The falafel was not bad but no sauce. In the end I spent over 25 dollars and barely ate. My husband picked it up I would have left it. Very disappointing after craving it all day.

Chicken was tender and rich with flavor. Chicken shawarma tastes as grilled chopped chicken not as regular shawarma on the stick with some crunchy part. I like the bread with onion and salsa. The garlic sauce very tasty. The staff was friendly.

The food here is tremendous and very reasonably priced

Truly excellent food. They cook the meats over a charcoal flame and you can taste the difference. Hummus, labneh, tahini, hot sauce, and garlic sauce are all available to compliment your meal. Recommend trying one of the specials or combination platters.

This restaurant has been consistently great for 15 years. If you love Middle Eastern food, you must check out Carmel Haifa. Every dish we have tried has been great, from the combination platters to the the soups. The prices are competitive, and the amount of food never leaves us unsatisfied.

Definitely Aga's restaurant doesn't need any intro, it is a well-known restaurant with great hospitality and customer service along with delicious food. Ms. Muskaan was assigned to our table. The lamb platter is extraordinary, and I grew up eating lamb. I go twice a year for a shawarma sandwich. Extra quality falafel. They're so nice I sometimes sit down to relax and eat briefly. Thanks Carmel Haifa!

Consistently provides excellent food. Food is fresh and has great flavors. Been coming for almost 10 years. Only issue is the online order system does not work all the time.

I remember when this place was a little hole in the wall, the sandwiches were great. Went today and was sorry I had bothered. Walked in and and no one greeted us so we said hello. We ordered our sandwiches with the intention of eating them in the shop. The sandwich was ok but not as good as it use to be and the service was not welcoming.. The girl who took the order asked us if we are eating here and we indicated yes however when the food was ready she handed the food to us in a bag and told us they close at 3, which was still 15 mins. This is the last time I’ll be going to Carmel Haifa. The food is not that impressive that I should put up with poor service. I can easily travel to Paterson for much better Middle Eastern food!!

I was there yesterday the sandwich pocket was filled with lots lots of lettuce in the bottom few pieces of chicken then filled again with lots lots lettuce I felt like I bought a lettuce shawarma not chicken. This place use to be good before Covid I don’t know what happened to them. now even customer service is not the same as before. The guy was too busy to take my order.

Mediocre at best. Extremely salty and small portion sizes. Came with a bizarre pita bread stuffed with raw onions: disgusting. Meat was tough and dry. Sauces that came with it (ordered delivery) tasted fermented. Now that I think about it, it’s way below mediocre. Go to Kebab Paradise instead. This place is nasty and overpriced to afford downtown Morris Plains rent. No middle easterners or Mediterranean would vouch for this stuff

Felt sick immediately after eating. For almost $15 for a chicken shawarma platter, I expected more than dry chicken pieces over oily rice. White sauce tasted like mayo and the red sauce like marinara…

Very casual with several small tables. A smelled amazing the second we walked in. We tried the vegetarian (falafel) platter and chicken shawarma platter. The platters was freshly made and came out quickly. Everything we tried was absolutely delicious! The baba ganoush, hummus, garlic sauce, and rice were wonderful. The chicken was so tender and the falafel had the perfect crisp. And the prices are fantastic. Definitely recommend it!

I go here every few weeks. Always a good lunch spot. Chicken shwarma sandwich or platter with lentil soup is my go to.

This place is great. Must have been here over 200 times in the last 6 years and it never disappoints. Everything on the menu is amazing and unique, unlike any other place I’ve been to before. My favorites are the chicken shawarma sandwich and the mixed shawarma platter. If you are in the area, it’s a must visit.

Last night I hosted a celebration of life (aka, a wake) for a close family member who had passed away. I had about 25 guests at my house, and I turned to Carmel Haifa to provide the food. The short version is: Carmel Haifa knocked it out of the park. Our guests were delighted with the food, and many commented that it was the best the had ever had. My only regret is that I should have ordered TWICE as much falafel. We had one chicken kebab per person, one kufta kebab oer person, a platter of shawarma, 30 falafel, and a 7” dish of hummus and baba ganoush. The falafel were gone within seconds, and by the end of the evening we had only scant rice and a little shawarma left. It turns out thise dishes are oerfect for a karge celebration where people need to eat one-handed while socializing. I will be going to Carmel Haifa again for the next time I host a oarty. And for lunch, of course! :-)

Used to really love this place. Great food, good service, fair price. I don't know if it's due to COVID inflation or their restaurant rent increase due to expansion but their food has become pretty expensive meanwhile portion seems to have gotten smaller. If you've never had it , I highly recommend trying it once as the food still tastes great, but it's definitely not my go-to anymore.

Very decent middle eastern restaurant .. family business. Excellent food Just added a next door space . Still small but has 16 seating availble. I observed most their orders were takeaways....

1st timer here. For awhile I had my eyes on this restaurant but I like 25iah minutes away so that was 1 of the main reasons why I hadn't tried it. But I decided to go for it after running an errand around the morris plains area. Plus I had been craving Mediterranean food for a while. I scoped out the menu online and then went in person to order. I ordered the Mix Shawerma sandwich. It's chicken, veal, lamb in a pita pocket like bread with lettuce , tomatoes, sauces. They have a variety of bottled drinks as well as variety of sweets and foods that are Mediterranean that you can buy. I picked out candy bars and I was so happy they had seltzer cans ! There was a sign that prices had gone up and to add $1 to menu items. Honestly for what I got and paid I was super satisfied. The sandwich was tasty not bland at all and it legit filled me up from 1230p till about 6pm not bad I wish they were closer to me but a definite must try recommendation for you my friends. Enjoy!

Best hummus I have ever had. One of the Best Falafels on the East Coast. I stop here anytime I'm in North Jersey. Hummus is the absolute best. I will travel from Delaware to just get a falafel platter and a bunch of hummus and pita.

We live in Morris Plains and have been regular customers since it opened. Very friendly owners and great food. Our favorite is the Chicken Schwarma platter. Our son moved to San Diego to start his job after graduating from college. Said the two things he misses most (presumably besides his parents) are the local bagel landmark "Time For a Bagel" and Carmel Haifa!
