We got a tailgate package and the food was good but the barbecue had a lot of bones chopped up in it and I actually cut my gums when I was chewing it and we didn't get the sauce we asked for when I ordered it don't know what happened this time but not to sure about future orders we ordered this on Friday 8/30/24

We hadn't eaten here in a number of years. Just as delicious.

While nothing was bad, it wasn't good either. The pulled pork was shredded into pork floss practically, and the Mac and cheese was not very cheesy, and I don't like the twisty noodles for Mac and cheese. I say all this to also say that this is just my opinion and others might love the food. This place has been around for a long time, so they must be doing something right. I'm somewhat of a BBQ snob, so I critique more harshly than others. The prices are fair so even if you don't like it you won't be out of a lot of money.

Awesome food. Awesome waitresses... Definitely a good stop for food, try the Cheerwine bbq sauce....

Food wasn’t good at all. Tried to get something else and server had attitude.

First time here while in town ...3-4 stars...had 2 waters, 1 lemonade, beef brisket plate, smoked turkey plate, kids BBQ sandwich plate, BBQ pork and ribs plate, side of Mac n Cheese, onion rings, beans, fries...$50ish. Food was good...ribs were flavorful but wish there was more...lol...baked beans had shredded BBQ in it and were good...Mac n cheese was peppery and cheesy, good flavor. Didn't really care for the smoked turkey but it was ok with BBQ sauce and they have 3 different ones... classic, mustard base and cheerwine sauce(to sweet for me, don't care for cheerwine either but that's a personal preference). Plates came with 3 hush puppies, which were classic. Walking in on Saturday at 3pm, not busy...the table was sticky and it had the smell of a wet mop when walking in which is a bit of a turn off but we thought to give it a try anyway and glad we did. I would recommend at least trying it once!

The people seemed relaxed and helpful with answering any menu questions. Food tasted pretty decent but I'd say the highlight was their brisket.

The food was really tastey and the service was good.

The food was okay. Could not get a refill on tea. Had stand at the counter for a extremely long time to pay. Even the owner walked by and did not even acknowledge us being there. I could have very easily walked out and no one would have ever noticed. Would not recommend this place to anyone, 1.5 hr from the time we walked in the door until we were left.

Pretty good BBQ. They have lunch specials. We got the brisket and pork and it was enough to share.

We both got the pulled pork plate with Carolina mustard bbq sauce. I got Mac and cheese and fries as a side and plates come with hush puppies and my husband got fried okra and onion rings. Everything was spectacular!! Oh man! I love how tender the pork was, the sauce was delicious, the ranch was perfection, the fires were seasoned great, the hush puppies were addictive, everything is just amazing !! Very impressed! Will definitely be going back.

Definitely try the braised chicken

This is an awesome little place, the brisket sandwich was perfect, the sauce selection is great the Mac and cheese was fresh and the baked beans tasty. The servers were very polite and friendly, not pushy at all and just genuinely hospitable. If I'm in the area I will be back.

Online order that I requested it be ready at 4:45pm. I placed the order around 4pm. I watches how within 5mins they had the order ready to go. Great if it would have been right and was kept warm. Ordered the 1/2 chicken BBQ and they gave me fried chicken. Pais extra for the chicken breast and it was right. But like I said the food was cold. Options for drinks included a coke by the name of coke but I guess that wasn't true bc I received a warm canned Pepsi and no cup of ice for it. Ordered banana pudding thar was instant pudding that was gross, the cookie or I guess it was a cookie that should have been soft was so hard that I couldn't cut it. So I didn't bother taking another bite. All was really wasted money and fuel to drive there from Mayo. They use to be so much better than this. Lesson learned. Won't go back

Service and food was very good.

Pretty good BBQ for Lexington style in SC. The red slaw was great, mac and cheese as well. Pork is standard Lexington style, not my fave, but hit its target. Staff was polite and attentive.

Ordered pretty large amount the day prior for a bday party.. get there and had to wait almost and hour. My brisket was watery and looked almost reheated or boiled but no smoke flavor at all.. pulled pork was good but not impressive enough to advertise what they do but to each his own. I was disappointed but you may have a different opion.. Mediocre at best for me

It was normal for a bbq joint. Busy at lunch. Make sure you're seen by staff of where you're seated. Normal serving size of bbq

Good food good service visiting from Miami!

Great local place for a fast, but quality lunch (or dinner). I sat at the counter and received fast, courteous service. The folks there checked on me several times. As a connoisseur of the finest Brunswick Stews across the Carolinas, I have to say this was one of the better stews I have had that wasn't Homemade. the Q was great too. You can tell immediately that this is a local favorite and will be one of mine too going forward.

50 years and counting, good barbecue, southern warmness and great seasoning. Barbecue slaw, baked beans, and pulled pork sandwich 🤤🥪. Come grab a plate 🍽️ or two for later.

First time,food,service was great even, ordered for supper

Okay so we ordered our valentines day dinner from here. I had done several DoorDash orders here in the past and everyone was always so excited to see me pull up with their orders. I waited until a slower time (2pm-4pm) to place a 5 plate order. The lady was very attentive, sweet and didn't get mad that it was such a large order. I don't eat much meat and I have to say that brisket is off the chain amazing! The pulled pork was so tender and juicy,y children loved their plates and my husband devoured his! He isn't much of a bbq sauce man but he loved the spicy BBQ sauce that was added in the bag. Thank you for that too btw. Y'all truly made our first visit most memorable and I am truly grateful for that!!! Will definitely reccomend and return. 🦋

I received pristine customer service from "Sarah" doing my visit. This is a most visit barbecue family restaurant, definitely a stop on my travels thru Spartanburg. Great Food and Service!!!!!

This is the best chopped bbq in Spartanburg. They also have the best baked beans, besides the ones my mom makes.

After 45 min wait we never got served. Ordered got drinks and waited and waited for nothing. When walking out they didn't care. We were very polite and are good tippers since we worked waiting tables and can relate. But not even a attempt to regain our business! Don't know how food is cause never got any! And was less busy then normal according to Google. True it wasn't and 2 waiters should have noticed....and then cared.

Ordered and never received our food after 45 minutes. No sorry. No concern about "forgetting our order". Won't be coming back

I had the brisket and she had the turkey. Both were delicious! As I had to finish hers for her. She had fried squash and onion rings and ate them all. I had coleslaw and potatoe salad, both were excellent. I wasn't the biggest fan of the BBQ sauces but the mild was the best for my taste preference. I even ate all the hush puppies. I'd try it again. The server was new and I can't recall his name for the life of me, maybe "Josh." But he was absolutely excellent and she rang the bell leaving for good service.

I was so thankful they were still open when I drove up. I called my to go order in from the parking lot. I got the turkey sandwich plate , with potato salad and macaroni and cheese, sweet tea. It was ready in less than 5 minutes. The server that took my order was a very nice and professional young guy. The restaurant was clean and orderly and the plate was so good !

First time here. I ordered a full slab of rib and a whole chicken. It was flavorful however the meat on the ribs were dry and hard.

My last time there, the person who took my phone order was very nice ... and even nicer in person. But the food left A LOT to the imagination ... the baked mac and cheese was very tasteless, like water ... and no amount of salt and pepper helped ... my baked beans were thrown all over my plate, literally had beans in every compartment. Wouldn't go back for the food but the service was nice.

We’ve given this restaurant three chances in the past 7 years and it continues to disappoint. We are done here. Dirty bathrooms, physical property in disarray, dirty and cluttered. Service is always meh. Waitresses not going to Win the “Miss. Congeniality” title. Food adequate, and not as bad as A&J but not better than Alison’s . After all, How can you screw up a salad huh. No need for further punishment.

I ordered food for 25 people from a funeral. We went over the order 3 times when I called. My order was wrong. When I called to inquire about it. I was told my order was correct and I was wrong. The attitude of the person on the phone was totally unexceptionable. While the food was good there customer service is not. I was told I will show you, you are wrong. I didn't ask for a refund or replacement. I said my order was wrong and if I had left something. I will never use your services again. We all make mistakes but the attitude I got was uncalled for. I paid over $300.00 for my order. Didn't ask for anything free or complain about the price. I was treated in a very disrespectful way. I will never use your services again.

Ribs and pulled pork were some of the best I have ever had. Excellent service. Can’t wait to get back to Carolina BBQ.

The ambiance was terrific, awesome decore for a BBQ stop. The food was also really good. We had a new server so it was a little slower than I'd expect. Otherwise I absolutely recommend this place!

Mustard base sauce is made in house and it's awesome. Great service and bbq. Love the hush puppies and the broasted chicken is delicious.

The staff here was great and the food really yummy. I will say the sides needed a little flavor but the boasted chicken and hushpuppies will make you wanna slap someone. The chicken has nice crispy skin and the meat is tender and juicy. We will be back! Update - continue to visit. Chicken is the best!

We live right behind this restaurant and I absolutely love eating here on the occasional $7 Tuesday nights. Great food and even nicer waitresses.

Food was pretty good but not nearly the best I've ever had. Sauces were good but not, "Give me some more of that!" good. Small inside eating area not really set up for a big group. Good place to grab a bite of lunch if you are in town and want BBQ. The hushpuppies were really good.

Very good brisket and the sides are also good. Their homemade sauces are worth the stop. Cheerwine barbecue sauce is amazing.

The employees are very friendly and the restaurant was clean. The menu is limited, which is fine because they focus on their specialty. The pork bbq was tasty, the hush puppies were fine, but the other sides are lackluster. Fries have been undercooked the two times we went here, Mac and cheese is bland and overall sides are few and boring.

We chose Carolina Barbecue from Trip Advisor, in order to meet friends coming from the opposite direction. So glad we did! Our server was just adorable: super friendly, and always there when we needed her. The prices were more than fair, and then when the food came, WOW! The smoked meats were delicious, the sides were extra great (cole slaw, onion rings, baked beans, mac and cheese and more) and we even got hush puppies before and during lunch. This little place that we might never have found is a gem we'll return to.

Worst service ever allowed employees to cuss at guests and when u call to speak to management the kids working in there try to act like they are manager and then.he gets on the phone is a bigger joke than they are worst place to eat in Spartanburg sc

We got brisket, bbq chicken, pulled pork, friend okra, squash, Brunswick stew, hush puppies, and green beans. Everything was so so good but beyond the food, we have never met sweeter servers than the two we had. They went over and beyond for us! We even got banana pudding to go!

I'm employed at a nearby Hotel and when asked where one should eat in the area, I always recommend Carolina BBQ. I love it myself and I've not had one guest complain of my recommendation and they all have loved it. Keep up the great work!

There broasted chicken..just wow! I used to eat it living in MA, first time i found it down south since moving. I have to edit: last time ordering i got home and chicken was completely dried out. I had to throw it away it was inedible.

This is my go-to place for pickup BBQ. They have the best Brunswick stew of anywhere I know! I love to get it in the winter with hush puppies!!! Their ribs are also really good, but I think that Mutt’s BBQ buffet in Greer is just as good, and it is all you can eat there. But, Carolina BBQ is hard to beat for convenience! They are always quick on pickup orders, and the food is really good!!!

Ribs are good enough, brisket is not the best but I think they only cook em for 6 hrs so of course it's not. That said if you sauce it all up you won't be disappointed. Personally I probably won't be back

We had super service and great food. Two of the nicest waitresses I have ever had. Asia and Kaitlynn were amazing. So sweet and lots of smiles from these two we were there with a bus tour and just those two sweet girls and they were so sweet. The food was great

Best in Spartanburg…. Just tried brisket and it’s better than my Texan experiences

Have eaten at Carolina many many times, and this is by far the worst BBQ I've eaten anywhere. Had a pork plate with fries, slaw, and 2 wings. The slaw and wings were the only things good. I know BBQ can be fatty, but my lips and mouth still have a grease film from how greasy the BBQ was. Waitress was spot on, but the kitchen is another story. Hate to say it, but I've had better gas station BBQ. Fries were cold and old, no seasoning at all. Attached pick is the amount of fatty grease in the pulled pork. So for $11, I had 2 wings and slaw. Hope it just an off day.

First the Good. Clean place. Staff is friendly. Cole slaw was good. The server kept our water glasses full. ( I'm stretching to say something good) Our food arrived warm. Not hot. It took a good 6 min for our food to be moved from the service window to our table. Ribs tasted good but were like shoe leather. I literally had to spit some out it was so tough. The chicken was dry as dirt. Fries were tasteless and (obviously) cold. No wet wipes available in rib joint?

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Carolina BBQ. I was greeted by a very friendly and energetic young lady..Asia ! I ordered the Broaster chicken which was cooked to perfection. It was crispy on the outside and tender juicy on the inside. Truly “ chicken perfected “. Definitely worth it!

Called in an order for Togo. The girl on the phone, Asia, handled our order carefully due to a food allergy. When we arrived, we were greeted by a different waitress, didn't catch her name, who was very nice. Asia was bagging our order and not double checking but triple checking to make sure everything was perfect. She then assisted us in paying and was the absolute best. Her positive attitude, attention to detail, and overall great customer service, was stellar. She went above and beyond with our order. Definitely will be back again soon. Especially if Ms. ASIA IS WORKING.

This is good barbeque. Ask for their home hot sauce to make it tops. A good dinner plate for about half the price for comparable BBQ for the Tuesday special. Treat a friend.

We love this place everything is always hot and fresh and the chicken is delicious. Staff is nice and down to earth.

Got the brisket plate with potato salad and macaroni n cheese, $15.34 brisket was all fat hardly any meat, macaroni was cold and no flavor tastes like it had been sitting for a while, potato salad was one of the top Iv had to be fair, customer service was good but would I come here again though? Not a chance. One and done for me

The fried squash is just like the way my MaMa made so many years ago. Chicken tenders were great. Mac &cheese to die for.
