On my wife's birthday, we ordered carryout to eat at home. We have a furry family member who is always part of the celebrations. I placed an order for chicken trio all marsala, spaghetti, and linguini pescatore. We had the spaghetti and linguini changed to gluten-free pasta. Assuming the gluten-free pasta would still be the same style pasta, I did not think of any issues as we have bought gluten-free spaghetti to cook at home and it appears to cook the same. I was not aware that some g-f pasta turns to mush. My drive home from the restaurant is 40 min. Well, when we opened up the food, it looked terrible. I talked with the manager, Seamus at the Tallahassee location, and expressed to him how disappointed we were with the food. He explained that they only have the bowtie pasta for gluten-free pasta. He wants to make it right and help us by sending gift certificates and asked us to give them a second chance. Carrabas has been our favorite Italian food restaurant for years, we just moved to a location that is close enough and worth the drive so when I heard that they stopped making pizza, I was disappointed and after a long time since our last visit to start off with a not so appetizing dish on my wife's birthday was a really bad surprise. We love their food, and from the app and manager interaction, they paid attention to detail. As a retired military veteran, great detail is important and speaks largely on their work ethic. One recommendation, please add a statement to advise the customer on what they will be getting when ordering gluten-free pasta. Today, on my wife's birthday, we learned a lesson on g-f pasta without a quick fix. I will provide an update after receiving the Carrabbas mail and making a second attempt at dining in (next time). Thank you Seamus!

The Best Dining Experience in Tallahassee Firstly, I rarely write reviews, so the fact that you are reading this should be an indicator of the impression of the experience which I doubt I will be able to fully capture in words. But, I will try. My wife and I had a late dinner here tonight, and it was wonderful. The food was good, the service staff were kind, and the event was an experience to remember. Our server, Jon Canada, made the meal into an atmosphere that helped turn my wife and my dinner plan into a date, which is another way of saying that we were flattered at the cordial, attentive manner in which Jon conducted his work. For example, I was unfamiliar with the particularities of the herbs and oil that is brought to you at the beginning of the meal, so I inquired. Jon knowledgeably provided me with the names of the various herbs and spices. Moreover, he asked us if we would like to try it with butter, so we agreed. His enthusiasm coupled with the novelty of the experience provided a light, fun mood that lingered throughout our meal. I decided to complement Jon at the end of our meal, and so he asked if I would be willing to forward the message to the manager. I informed him that I was more than happy. The manager, Dennis Colon, came out and we had a great conversation. Dennis really knows what he is doing. Like with Jon, numerous things impressed me. Dennis spoke about his passion for helping hire good servers and helping them understand the importance of what they do beyond bringing the food to the table. More than running a business well, Dennis appeared to have vision coupled with, and I use this next phrase deliberately, spirit. Perhaps zeitgeist would get us closer to the mark. What I do know is that Dennis understands the political situation of the country and what it means for businesses, what they have to do to fill the gaps with phenomena like inflation, and what that means for consumers. Worded differently, I was understanding how Dennis saw his role as helping situate corporate demands with providing and translating expectations to his serving staff, and frankly, I have not seen something like this done better. Dennis hopes to run his own business/restaurant one day. I have no doubt that, conditions permit, his place will thrive. I also want to mention two crew members who deserve attention. Had I known that I was going to be writing this review, I would have gathered everyone's names. Nevertheless, there was a kind black man working as the host who set the initial tone. We came in at just after 9pm, and most restaurants at this hour do not have such amicable hosts; this man was a good hire. He made us feel welcome with his tone and timbre, wishing us a good meal after seating us. I also want to recognize the young black woman who brought us our drinks and bread. We spoke briefly because I was so surprised at how quickly the initial items came out. She was delightful and eloquently provided me with information as to how the tablet system worked. The Tallahassee Carrabba's is worth considering if you are looking for a place to dine. Thank you Jon, Dennis, and crew.

Took forever to get our appetizer; came out “medium cold”. The server never checked on us to see if we wanted another drink. When he brought us our check finally he said “whenever you’re ready”. However, it was really when he was ready! Final note, the restaurant was not busy.

Fantastic representative of Carabas! The bread came out warm and soft it was so good with the oil & herbs, house salad was good,the spaghetti with meatballs with angel hair topped with fresh grated Parmesan was delicious, finished off with huge piece of cheesecake with strawberry topping! The service people in the store seemed nice, but I ordered the filet & shrimp toscano, and the breadstick mozzarella tower, and ended up not eating any of it. I ordered takeout today at 7:16 according to the receipt. It’s also definitely my fault for not looking at the food before leaving, I messed up and didn’t think anything would be wrong with it. My issue was for the filet & shrimp toscano, I thoroughly looked at the items in the menu, and it didn’t mention that it had mushrooms anywhere on there, and I didn’t want to get sick from eating them, I ended up just throwing out the mozzarella tower app also due to me not being sure what else they might not have listed on the menu, this was the first place I’ve been too where they weren’t apparent with what they were adding on there, and it’s not like it was a mushroom sauce or something like that either( which also would’ve been bad) they had big mushrooms spread throughout the pasta, also though I didn’t get to eat it I noticed that there were more mushrooms than shrimp, which it looked like it had around 3 or 4, and also looked like it had little pasta sauce on it. If they could just fully list stuff like that in the menu it would be great. I would’ve gave them a 3 stars, due to the service people working in the store being nice while I was in there, but no one would answer any of their lines on the their phone, it just kept going back to the main menu due to no one answering, and I tried calling them around 2 hours apart.

I attended the June Bourbon dinner with a group of friends to try the Carrabba’s tasting dinner experience. The event started on time with an amazing mixed Elijah Craig berry cocktail. It was the favorite drink for the light drinkers among us. The starter dish was light and flavorful. The Pasta Georgio was tasty and I was able to substitute the pork chop for grilled chicken and it was also full of flavor. The star of the night was the Sogni Fiore dessert. It was everyone’s favorite. The bourbons were all a bit powerful for the light drinkers among us, but we were provided with ginger ale and it really brought out the spice of the Buffalo trace. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the dinner.

Okay so this used to be my favorite place to eat, but NOT anymore I don’t know what has happened to Carraba’s but their cooking as of late flat out stinks! They got away from making people happy, some kind of new way of cooking food in separate compartments or something which everything that comes out cold. I ordered my favorite trio of lasagna, chicken parm and fettuccine it came out cold, then after a so called recipe of the dish they did nothing but dump a ton of sauce on it to make it hot which was even worse. I opted for rigatoni versed fettuccini and I get a small portion of it and the rigatoni was like on steroids. Been going here for many years as my favorite place and now it’s over for me. If I could give a ZERO stars I would. This is my second time back after awhile of not wanting to go back due to cold food like cold fettuccine lumps that took our party of (3) 5 minutes to dig through cold fettuccine and this time was no better. I Hope Carrabba’s listening and make changes as they just lost a loyal customer.

Attended a bourbon themed dinner. Slight down grade for second course, fairly bland, basically well cooked pasta with meatballs. Probably authentic Italian, but I prefer a more robust flavor profile and more sauce. The double cut pork chop was the best pork I’ve had in a while.

Stopped by today for my grandmas birthday and had an amazing time! Shamus took care of us and exceeded every expectation and really helped make her birthday a wonderful experience! 10/10

They were able to quickly accommodate our party of 8. Michelle, our server was so pleasant and attentive; she made sure everyone had what they needed at all times, with a genuine smile on her face. The casear salad was delicious as usual. I tried the new vegetable ravioli and it was delicious! Perfectly cooked and the sauce was amazing. The atmosphere was great and nothing disappointed. Thank you!

Friday, May 24th, 2024, late afternoon 5 pm. We came to Carrabarra's Tallahassee because all if not most of our previous visits over the last 3 years have been generally good. NOT THIS TIME. Drinks were weak. Not even given a napkin to put under drinks. How sloppy is that? Appetizers ok. Shrimp scampi - very good. When the appetizers arrived, we had no utensils so why the dish sat in front of us we had to reach out to an associate to get utensils and napkins. I mean, really? Now to the problem - the main dishes were nothing short of terrible. Pasta dishes where the pasta was not tossed. It was lumpy and barely warm, even a bit cold. There's no way we'd ever return if this is how it's going to be. We mentioned this to the girl tending the bar (we sat at the bar). She said the kitchen was changed from 1 griddle to separate cooking stations. Who knows right? We didn't look. She didn't go get the manager on duty to speak with us which we found disturbing. We could've asked to see the manager but simply left. We had somewhere to be. For the tab we paid - drinks, appetizers, main dishes - we expected more. Our dinner choices in that area are many and varied. Goes without saying Carrabarra's lost us on this visit. Someone else will be glad to see our $$. As a consumer advocate, when things go right, we make sure to absolutely write about our experience. Obviously when things don't go so right, we post reviews like this. And honestly, a day later, we're still PO'd. Whoever see's this review should take it seriously whether it's the restaurant management or people contemplating a visit. How Carrabarra's reaches out to us, I don't know. Perhaps they'll respond to this review. From the receipt: Table 209, 0132 M. C (bartenders initials), 4:30 pm, 5/24/2024, SvrCk: 20. First time there .. long wait to get seated, Long wait to get food once seated. I expected the food to be wonderful but it was just ok. Waitresses were hustling though. The place was packed. They need a better waiting area for folks waiting to be seated. Outside was standing room only and so was the entire entrance. Made for getting out very difficult.

First time at the place fast curb service and I was not N A pick up spot did not faze me it was that time of the evening everything was warp speed the girl served us was a blurr slowed down long enough to retrieved my order that when the wheels came off open the food bag 2 our surprise small serving on the lasaguna was not what we excepted I'm not saying that that was bad I've heard good things about the restaurant it's just that we expected better OH guys do better next time
