Had a shawarma wrap with fries that was alright, but definitely wasn’t worth the $15 I paid for it.

Visited this restaurant during Labor Day weekend. Food is delicious, staff is very professional and courteous, and the restaurant located conveniently in Downtown Roanoke. Would love to visit again. Edit: Visited again in 2024, food and hospitality are still wonderful. Try one of their Mezzas which allow you to sample multiple dishes!

We have 6 people visited this place. Great ambiance however when we place an order it took longer than expected. Only one person who was taking and serving. Salad was bit sour. We placed two Falafel Salad and both of them have different kind of vegetables. It was also mentioned that they will get charged 18% extra for 6 or more person. Also it's bit expensive here..

Third attempt to write this review with lousy internet, but Cedars deserves a good review! We love the food--ate here three times in one weekend--and appreciated so much that the waiter was so helpful with our dietary restrictions. The Labneh deserves special mention, as does the mixed kebab platter, which let us decide on our favorites. Definitely worth a stop, and we'll be back again next time we're in Roanoke!

We went to celebrate a birthday. The first shock was the $16 parking across the street, even if you park for 10 minutes. After all it is not NY or LA downtown. We took three cars, so it was a total of almost $50. Once inside, very old and dirty furniture greeted us. The ambience of the dark room will get a D. We are fan of shawarma, ordered all kinds, beef, chicken and lamb. Whoever had chicken pushed the plate and stopped eating within five minutes. It had a weird taste.Other items including appetizers were disappointing as well, falafel too hard, grape leaves roll too soft, beet and lamb not succulent. The birthday celebration will have a repeat performance in a better place. Thumbs down.

A bit bland for our liking, 4% fee if you’re not using cash, extensive wait times, and music goes in and out. Lebanese food sounded great, but I wish we skipped this restaurant. The dessert menu has about 7 items on it, and they only had 1 to offer. The owner also took my card with the leather card holder, set it down and started slicing bread with the same hand. I use that card at gas stations, arcades, bars, etc. It’s just not well run or cared for.

WHERE IS THE FLAVOR , nothing like that mouth watering, tastebuds dancing when you eat an authentic middle eastern cuisine. Grape leaves not enough seasoning and rice undercooked. Garlic sauce barely have garlic. We ordered shish tauok and lamb kebab and both was raw had to send back. Since my husband asked for the chicken I ordered one to go. Chicken was well cooked but this time they put bottom of the pot rice, over cooked and bottom burnt combined. Pide bread the server brought to table was not even on plate but just wrapped in napkin, very thin broken pieces. THIS PLACE LOST TOUCH, you have to deliver that tasteful experience of another culture instead of serving rice and meat and chopped tomatoes on everything. To top it off the bad experience, he gave us Valentines Day left over chocolate covered strawberries after telling us “the desert on the house since your meat was undercooked “ Not worth the money

We're new to Roanoke, and we like Mediterranean food, and Cedars was a great addition to the list of good med-restaurants we encountered. The tastes are quite authentic. We were 3, and ordered the 3 mixed platters - this allowed all of us to have a taste of everything, and wow, great tastes and with abundance. The hummus is terrific, clearly made in house, the falafel was probably the best we've had in a very long time, and the different meats, while the seasoning was new to us, all tasted very good. We will definitely frequent this establishment.

I want to express my disgust with the owner of this business. I unfortunately can not give insight to the food. What I can shed light on is the lack of consideration to guest and future patrons. I unfortunately had the honors of dealing with this business Sunday evening at 4:09pm. My step daughter who has a wheelchair was taking pictures at the museum located across the street from this businesses parking lot. A parking lot that does not have signs to whom owns the property. So taking a chance on parking there I was unaware of which businesses owned them. No parking pass no parking for employee only. Nothing. I am not claiming that I was not a fault but maliciously Towing a vehicle while watching them remove a disabled child with a wheelchair when the parking lot was empty. I find extremely disgusting. I made a judgmentcall to.get her safely into the building seeing as how there is no other parking . If you don't want people parking there just put up a sign saying who owns it. I can honestly say I will never be a patron in this type of establishment. Apon further investigation the surrounding buildings have had their own employees cars towed due to this business owner. Thank you for the lesson and the utter disappointment in humanity.

Please read before choosing to dine at Cedars. I will preface this note by saying that I have never written a negative review before but feel compelled to warn future diners. We were very disappointed in this experience overall. There was only one server who did a good job manning the tables and helped us at the end of the meal with the check. However, the quality of the food, the incorrect pricing, and the missing menu options (alcohol, certain menu items, etc) made this experience pretty bad. The pita bread was microwaved and hard. Served to you in a balled up napkin. No plate either… just handed to us. It only got harder as the meal went on. The falafel was very tough and close to flavorless. The tahini served with the falafel was extremely thin and watery in texture. The dolmades and kibbeh were decent so was the tabuleh. The lamb over hummus had more veggies than hummus or lamb and it was disappointing that there really was no hummus served. The hummus that was in that dish, was also watery / flavorless. The spinach in the fatayer was completely over cooked, dry, and tasted horrible. The pastry was microwaved and turned more tough as it sat. We were surprised that we were even served these. It seems that from previous reviews other patrons have had a similar experience. It does seem like this place used to be a top spot on Roanoke but would not come back or recommend it. I hope that it improves in the future and this review is proven wrong but as of September 3, 2023, I would advise to eat elsewhere.

I recently dined at Cedar Lebanese restaurant and, unfortunately, my experience wasn't perfect. While the cuisine had potential, it fell short of my expectations. Moreover, I found the service to be slow, which affected the overall dining experience. What was particularly frustrating was the fact that they automatically charged a 20% tip without seeking my consent or informing me beforehand. Clear communication about tipping policies is crucial, and it's disheartening when it's not handled properly. It's important for restaurants to strive for consistency in both their food and service, ensuring that customers feel valued and have a pleasant dining experience.

Ok so I hate doing this but need to warn folks. 1st of all when you check out check that what you are charged is same as what is on the menu. Yes, folks I understand that cost of labor and food is up. I have no problem if an owner feels as if they need to charge more but you need to change the menu to reflect the increase. Not have to scramble at checkout when customer wonders why price difference and look at receipt and being charged more. When you ask oh I guess she went up I was told. Then secondly on that note, folks don't paying for quality . It is a miss here all the way. Ordered Veg Sampler for $17.95 ( On Menu) I was thinking for that price if should be fair amount right? Listen I am an avid middle eastern foodie and while visiting in Roanoke I thought I would try this place. Seemed a little higher but reading the menu description I said decided to go for it. I have never seen so little food. The Fattoush salad was straight lemon juice no Olive oil or sumac to balance. The Falafel were dry and no seasoning at all. Just a taste of "fried" if you know what that means. The Hommus I was not sure if House made, It really had just a Chickpea taste, no Tahini at all..you could tell because it was not smooth just mashed chickpeas. The Baba was so-so just very runny. Then to top it off the Pita was over microwaved so you know when you cook bread in microwave and it gets tough? Well that is how it was served in a balled up napkin. I guess I should have read the reviews before I went in. I would have found another place. So sorry but this place is a big no no!

This place is truly a disgrace and do not recommend at all. My girlfriend was truly disrespected by the entire staff. Then what we assume to be a male customer that came in the establishment, added fuel to this unexpected. The owner was disrespectful to the point where the police had to be called to deescalate the situation. So, being optimistic she was hungry and wanted to grab lunch at what we thought would be a great choice, yet that clearly was not the case. So, long story short the food was horrible and the lamb was old and they tried to reheat/recook to pass off as fresh, yet low and behold we know food and that wasn’t it. Prior to this, she called to inform them after taking a bite the food tasted old. So the young lady on the phone states it wouldn’t be a problem for my lady to bring the food back for a refund (after the horrific food experience) so moving on, she gets to restaurant being optimistic, not knowing she would have to endure a screaming match that was initiated by the owners, and to add, have money thrown in her face (so rude and unprofessional). My lady is still in shock and very disappointed at why the owners would conduct their business in such a distasteful manner.. At the end of the day please save yourself and taste buds the horrible experience by going next door to Nawab a couple doors down which is phenomenal by the way!!!! I was excited to try this place since I love Lebanese food. I had read the TA reviews both good and….not so good. I was hoping the former would be true and the latter were just reviews created by grumpy people. Or experience starts out good. We sat down and we’re provided menus. Then provided the drinks we ordered. Ask the server about a few things and he said he needed to take care of something. After about 5 minutes we heard a commotion in the kitchen that sounded like a woman getting startled, which can happen to anyone concentrating. Then it happen several more times over the next few minutes, with the reactions getting louder and longer. The male (our server) shh’d the female. Both my friend and I could tell the man was more worried about horseplay than actually being a professional server. We decided to leave out of concern for the quality of the food and service. It was disappointing as we hoped to get a great meal described by some reviewers.

First visit but it won't be the last! Lamb was extremely tender and flavorful, Lebanese potato salad was amazing, chicken shawarma was great, and the tabouli was amazing as well! We now have another reason to venture into downtown Roanoke.

This is one of my favorite resturaunts and the Lebanese food here is delicious. We always get the Chicken Shawarma Wrap with Tabbouleh Salad, but put the Tabbouleh on the wrap as we eat it. It's such a different, yet tasty, food. 😁

Always one of our favorite places to eat. Everything is always so fresh tasting and the wait staff is very kind. Perfect place for a date night.

For my 1st time going there it wasn't bad. The food was good fries tasted like they were fried n old oil but it happens.. the guy was nice I just wish he would have suggested dinners being we haven't been there before.. the atmosphere could be update I guess I expected it to be little more about the country ect needs dusting but all in all I'd go back.

Good Lebanese food. Ambiance isn’t bad but isn’t special either.
