These folks never disappoint! Had a proper tea party this weekend for our mom's birthday catered from here. Everything was great! Food was prepared on time and packaged for travel back to the house. Everyone enjoyed. Staff is great and very accommodating.

Dinner and wine pairing was amazing the new Chef prepared the best salmon I have ever tasted and all fresh local farm to table ingredients it was a culinary delight

We stopped for lunch while sightseeing nearby. The kitchen staff easily accommodated our gluten and lactose intolerances. We had the chicken salad sandwich on gluten free bread, a turkey sandwich on a baguette, and a gluten free raspberry bar - delicious! Portion sizes are good and potato chips accompany sandwiches. Parking is very convenient; either on-street or right in front of the building. Comfortable seating in a nicely decorated dining area.

The decor and cozy seating is inviting! We enjoyed the Mona Lisa sandwich and mushroom soup. The hot chocolate wasn’t very good - it tasted mostly like steamed milk with a drop of Hershey syrup. I’d definitely come back as the staff is friendly, the food is reasonable, and the Victorian home is something different.

Pizza and Wine Promotion on Thurs and Friday was GREAT. I'd say 12" by 18" pizza with your choice of toppings (we got sausage, spinach, mushroom) and a bottle of wine for 40 dollars is a steal. Staff was great and friendly, food delicious. Awesome outdoor area. Will be coming back.

This is one of my favorite spots in Centreville. Their new management has completely reworked the menu and I love their sandwiches and salads so much. It is always relatively busy which I think speaks to its popularity. People frustrated with a wait time must not have worked a service job growing up. The customers there are always so warm and it is ultimately a tiny community of good people.

i've been wanting to go here for the past year but never got the chance. stopped in for lunch today and really enjoyed my experience! the menu isn't huge, but many of the items seem fairly customizable. i ordered the little lisa, which was a grilled cheese on sourdough, and it was delicious. my mother got the zucchini and pepper quiche and really enjoyed it too. we got a few macarons, which were also very tasty. between the two meals and pastries, it was only about $25 total, which i found very reasonable and affordable. my favorite thing by far though was the atmosphere. it's set up in what i assume was once a residential home, and this makes all the sitting spaces feel extra cozy and welcoming. they also had outdoor seating, but it was a little too humid this time to have our lunch outside. it's order at the counter, and they bring your food out to you. the staff was very friendly! i can see why they have such great reviews, and i look forward to visiting again and stocking up on some of the sweet pastries!

Really nice time I had here with my friend. We had a teatime with savories and sweet things, everything was delicious. Those deviled eggs were soo good! We had African nectar which was a tasty rooibos. Only thing I'd say is that I wish the teapot held more tea, and that we had more sugar cubes. I also bought some of that shredded cheese bacon dip with crackers to go. Very glad I did.

The new owners are working out kinks. Need to learn how to use the espresso machine.

The team at the cafe, led by the wonderful Elizabeth, went out of their way to make us feel welcome, introducing us to neighbors, giving us the lay of the land, and even offering to let me work from the cafe when our wifi wasn't set up yet. She is always looking for ways to engage the community and has truly created a hub of activity and connection in the heart of the neighborhood. I ordered a chicken Croissant , And the famous white lima bean and ham soup. I was sick as a dog for three days with food poisoning. Myself and my friend , we ate the same thing. Completely ruined my birthday the next day I was sick as a dog ,I could not even enjoy my day. The owner was nice but reluctantly did not take responsibility for my food poisoning ;she denied that she ever had a problem with anything in her restaurant. I disagree 100%. I think Hells kitchen or Gordon Ramsay may need to give her a visit. There was no traffic in the restaurant and she probably saves the soup for an extended period of time. Or doesn’t hold the temperature properly. If you go to this place you’re probably safe with keeping with a coffee tea and a baked pastry that came from another establishment in the case note to self. I am simply horrified that an establishment of this scale that they claim and this neighborhood would be so cheap to where they would keep all soup with pork ham inside of it that could potentially kill someone poisoning them. My stomach was so injured it felt like knives. My stomach will never forgive them. I may not eat for a couple of weeks after that experience. This is 200% the truth I would never lie maliciously to hurt anyone’s establishment. The public needs to know about this place and what they did to me and my friend they need to be held liable.

We went because we saw that dogs were allowed. They changed their rule slightly as the health department won't allow for pets inside. However, they have a nice warm porch, and a large outdoor seating area where pets are allowed. The food is amazing! I had a huge bagel with smoked salmon, and a yogurt parfait. My wife and I split a warm butterscotch scone, fresh out of the oven. Our puppy had a fresh home baked peanut butter dog treat. He doesn't say much, but the tail wag indicated that he loved it. The staff is super friendly!

A charming and cozy atmosphere with terrific quiche and lovely baguettes!!! Take them to go from the freezer case and don't forget the French butter, too!!

Disappointing stop at this Cafe. While the pate sandwich they had on special tasted good, it came as 2 small pieces of baguette on a plate and a bag of herrs chips on the side. No presentation whatsoever. Oatmeal was standard. Purchased some macarons and small pastries as well and they were terrible, tasted old and crumbled in your hand rather then melting in your mouth. The person who took our order at the counter didn't know the menu or the pastries displayed as she couldn't really answer questions or describe them.Dining area looked like it was in the process of being painted or renovated, not quite appropriate for seating guests. Won't return

A really great place for a casual tasty breakfast. I had the smoked salmon sandwich with wasabi cream cheese, really good. A great large cup of coffee. My girlfriend had an egg sandwich, which she said was also good. They have amazing pastries. Street parking. The place is an old home. Very quaint.

My wife & I, joined by our dog, typically have our Saturday breakfast at the Cafe (renamed Centreville Place). We enjoy the charming, dog-friendly atmosphere and welcoming, pleasant staff. Today, the swiss & mushroom quiche was among the very best we've ever had, and the fresh fruit and mixed berry muffin were excellent. A truly outstanding breakfast! (I wish a had taken a picture to share, so you could see the abundance of berries in the muffin.)

Centerville Cafe is now under new management. This is an adorable corner cafe with coffee, sandwiches, and prepared foods. Perfect spot to stop while on your way to and from Winterthur or Longwood Gardens.

I’ve been here before and food was great. However i can’t support a business that doesn’t support its neighbors. This morning I had been biking and ran out of water. I stopped in to get a refill on my water bottle. They actually told me they couldn’t. It would have been very easy to give me a cup of tap water - but they weren’t at all willing to consider it. They offered to sell me a bottle but i didn’t have my wallet. I mean really - a major bike route and you can’t spare a cup of water. I’ll bring my business elsewhere next time

Great food and friendly service.

Enjoyed the Centerville Cafe on Sunday afternoon with a party of six for afternoon tea. We were presented with a very tailored selection of tea for every different pallet. Four traditional courses: sandwiches, savory, sweet, scones. 2.5 hours of time to converse in a historic and lovely setting. It was a special afternoon, and our host (also the owner) made us feel very pampered. As well as being a busy cafe for the daily coffee needs for anyone passing by on Rt. 52, it is also a gathering place quiet work and for carefully crafted plates.

Cute, quaint, but not what it used to be. Quiche' is overpriced, bagel chips were not tasty at all. Tables and chairs outside...a really nice touch, and they were all filled... for breakfast. I may try that next time!

I've been here a handful of times and it's always been "just okay". It's just not an "oooh I have to stop there and get one of those!" places. I enter with optimism, try something new, and it's always "just okay". Staff are friendly and the place has a quaint setup which is nice.

This restaurant perfectly located for a breakfast prior to our trip to Winterthur. You order first and pay, then the food is delivered to your table. I had an omelet and toast, and my wife had the "Frog in the Hole." The food was very good. Service was good, prices were reasonable, and the ambience was enjoyable. Overall, a nice place.

I brought my sister here for her birthday and it was just wonderful. We were able to bring our dogs which made it so special. The high tea was fantastic and the people we so friendly and accommodating. We can’t wait to come back .Thank you so much for everything.

The high tea was perfect, from start to finish. The atmosphere was lovely, and the tea was divine. Every course was exquisite, both in appearance and taste. I especially appreciate the accommodations that were made for my vegan diet. We will return often.

Elizabeth is the perfect hostess! For Thanksgiving, I forgot to get the rolls and she volunteered to bring them to my house! I was overwhelmed by her kindness. However, I picked them up later. I certainly did not want her make that trip! The cuisine is very tasty, and is made with your own comfort in mind! I always feel welcomed when I am there. Anthony, Jake, and Mary are also so wonderful!❤

This was a great experience and what a find tucked away in a quaint house! The food was delicious. Fresh and tasting like Mom’s best offerings! The staff were friendly and helpful and really proud of their place. Overall, an outstanding experience!

We stopped here for a light snack while visiting the area and made it a point to return a couple of days later. The first visit my wife and I both had the mushroom quiche which was delicious. On our return we just had a light snack; a couple of freshly baked scones with some coffee and were again very pleased. The young lady at the counter was welcoming and extremely gracious. The cafe was small but charming. The cafe also offers a wonderful selection of cheeses and other dishes ‘to go’. If we had an ice chest with us we would have loaded up for our return home to NY!

Made a reservation for tea for my grandma’s birthday and it was lovely! They catered to vegetarians and refilled our 3 tea pots many times with no problem. Super cute place with good food and tea!

Love going out to tea. Centreville cafe was good but could take it up a notch. Eg, use loose tea and collect dirty plates between courses.

Centreville Cafe is a great breakfast/lunch/tea establishment of of 52 in Centreville. Their food is homemade and delicious. They offer indoor and outdoor garden seating. The restaurant is located in an old Victorian house. The coffee is excellent as well. I highly recommend a visit!

We wanted to have tea the the Green Room at the DuPont hotel, but apparently they are closed. At least they didn’t return 2 calls, so I googled and found this cafe and made a reservation. We met our son at the train and headed right over. The train was late, but I called and they said no problem. The tea was served in individual pots and they have a nice variety of teas. The food was absolutely scrumptious. Fresh, soft, interesting sandwiches. Delightful savories, beautiful sweets and just lovely small scones served with clotted cream, lemon curd and strawberry jam. The service was excellent and friendly. Yea was served in a very cute room in the back of the gourmet food deli. We are so glad that the folks at the green room didn’t get back to us because we found a truly lovely place to have tea whenever we are in Wilmington. Highly recommend.

Celebrating my sister's birthday at the Centreville Cafe for a very relaxing Afternoon Tea. The food was excellent and the service outstanding. We have enjoyed many Afternoon Tea's, but I think this was one of our most enjoyable!

I really enjoyed my breakfast. The room where you ate it was very comfortable and kind of eclectic.

Never been here but it seems like that guy named Lucas is very nice. He's great, great staff, very homey and wholesome look. Lucas tho... OMG

Stopped here because I was hungry and grabbed a sandwich. Relieved to find safe distancing and health rules in place. Sandwich hit the spot and was served with (I guess) a spot of the house potato salad. Tons of homemade salads and desserts that I will be going back to check out.

Amazing people! So sweet and so kind!

Susan was contacted to create and deliver five-four course birthday dinners for two. Even though it was last minute, she gladly accepted. Dinners were delivered within an hour of the time requested and prepared to allow for microwave reheating. There was plenty of food, enough to also eat for lunch the following day. Favorites of the ninety year old birthday boy were scallops, soups, and desserts. I highly recommend delivered meals for not only special celebrations, but any time.

Where do I even start? Beautiful charming cafe, superb hardworking staff, and the best quality food! Open 364 days a year. (Can’t beat that!) They literally have the best quality coffee and tea! And, if the weather allows, it is perfect for a BYOB brunch in the terrace; with friends, family, or even a date! Feels like home. Will forever love everything about this establishment and the staff :)

To celebrate loosening of restrictions and Delaware restaurants reopening, friends and I treated ourselves to High Tea at Centreville Cafe this week. It was perfect. The food, as always, was excellent-- generous tea sandwiches, savory bites, chocolate treats and, of course, scones with clotted cream and jam. Service, as always, was excellent. The Cafe has been my go-to for gourmet sandwiches, freshly baked pastries, and distinctive breakfast choices, but this was a first for tea. Highly recommended. We'll be back!

We love the food in general, and also want to support our local businesses during the COVID-19 shutdown. Montrachet's dinners have been a delightful change from our own cooking...chicken moreno and comforting and delicious meatloaf -- along with the gingered carrots that are simple divine!

This is where the locals go. Girlfriends get together for tea and pastry. Couples reenergize by dining, talking, and reading. The lone traveler enjoys the solace of this old-time place. Packed into a small space is a large variety of menu options. It was nice to stand there and watch a staff person slice a tomato by hand. The portions are generous. And, for less than $15.00 per person (including the tip), one could get a decent lunch here. Parking is available along the street in front and near the restaurant. Be extra vigilant about the cyclists and pedestrians who utilize the nearby area. 4-5 spaces are located in the back of the building. Not going to lie....The parking in the back is extremely tight. Just sayin’. Don’t expect to have great cellular coverage here either.This may be a good time to take a break from all of that anyway. A non-ambulatory customer may have a difficult time navigating this physical environment. Indoor and outdoor seating is available.

Nice cafe to stop for a coffee or light fare after a bike ride or long run. Kind staff and pet friendly. Outdoor seating on days with good weather is a plus.

We were in the area visiting Longwood Gardens and Winterthur for the holiday season. Had breakfast on our way to Winterthur. Cafe is in an old home, charmingly decorated, "shabby chic". Dog friendly. We parked on the main street, but there are a few parking spots behind the cafe. You place your order, then it is brought to you in the seating area in the front room. Friendly staff. We enjoyed our choices: the Pelican platter and the Puffin egg white omelet. Tasty. Good coffee and a nice selection of teas. Lots of tempting baked goods, too. We will return on our next visit to the area.

Really enjoyed my experience there. Cardinal and my friend's Raven were tasty sandwiches, we'll have to some back to try one of tantalizing-looking salads, desserts, quiches, and breakfast sandys. Ridonkulous choice of sweet dessert bars, cakes, scones and cookies.

Great place for a quick bite to eat

What a great find! The Centreville Cafe is in a route I travel most weeks, and it's my favorite spot to stop for lunch. The food is fresh, delicious and creative. I've only sampled a couple of the menu items because I get drawn in to the display case and the wonderful dishes in there. I especially love the deviled eggs - they make a great appetizer. The coffee is delicious as well. The team is friendly and welcoming and they provide excellent customer service. Make sure this stop is on your list!

It's called a Robin and its delicious. Turkey, lettuce and tomato on whole wheat toast with their homemade special spread!

Wonderful little cafe, fresh locally-sourced items. Very very animal friendly which is a huge bonus! A great labor of love has been put into this establishment. The owner tends to run hot and cold so best to keep conversation to a minimum imho. Staff is exceedingly accommodating. Overall a nice respite worth trying.

First visit to this cafe after seeing it on line. The cafe is inside an old house and consequently has a unique atmosphere for dining. You order your food at the counter by the entrance and then you can choose where you would like to be seated. They have a couple of indoor rooms as well as an area ouside in the back where you can dine. They have some really interesting food selections. I got a quiche of zucchini, tomatoes and cheese which was served with some red bliss potato salad on the side as this was during lunchtime. I also had the chicken noodle soup which they make with their own homemade soup stock. It was delicious! I also had the cold herbal iced tea of the day which was a red tea made from rooibos (my favorite) and had some mango flavoring as well. It was very refreshing. The staff were all very friendly and answered all our questions and pointed out various specials that were noted on the wall behind the counter in addition to the menu. My husband and I really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. We will definitely be going back.
