Love their burgers and onion rings. Cheeseburger was huge, juicy, and filling. The onion rings crispy, crunchy and golden brown. It was my first time there. Just a hole in the wall kinda place. Love those kinds of places because it never disappoints. The service was fast. They do have a place to sit and enjoy your meal. The staff were very kind and polite. The prices were reasonable. I’m bringing my whole family here!!

I haven't been here in like 8 years. But visited last Tuesday. This place is still on point with there food. I order a grill chicken sandwich, Onion Rings, apple turnover and vanilla shake. You will not be disappointed.

Of the many new, old, pricey, and economic burger joints I have visited, no other burger place in Houston can claim to be Number 1: Champ Burger is the best burger place in Houston. This is a matter of fact. The people who run this establishment, too, are professional and hold warm conversations when they have the freedom to do so -- in between their many orders for food! Come here for the food, which is prepared with care and attention.

I ordered a burger, onion rings and shake. Everything here is ordered separately. Once you put the price together, it is pricey. The meal was nothing special. I would not go back for this price point versus quality.

I was introduced to this little hidden Houston gem back in 2000, when I visited from Germany!!! Totally forgot about it until a few days ago. Champ Burger is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year!!! Its burgers are still the best ever, yum, yum!!! (Sorry. I was so hungry and it tasted sooo good that I literally gobbled it before I realized I didn't take a picture! Good reason to go back and enjoy another one in a couple of weeks 😀) I had the Champ Burger with bacon and cheese. Love the fact that it is so juicy, tender and tasty... Sorry, have to borrow the slogan from KFC on this one: it is finger lickin' good! As the side, I choose the beer battered onion rings... Need I really have to write more 😉! You can call in your order and pick up or walk up to window and order. Over the years the outside sitting area is quite comfortable, relatively quiet because Sampson St runs only in one direction. If you want to try them, you have a window of time from 10a - 4:30p, Monday thru Friday. This definitely is a "must" go to spot to eat! Let your taste buds discover and enjoy it!

First timer however Dad went on lunch breaks at least twice a week. Great Burgers Best of People.

Fantastic food. Fast service. The lunch special can’t be beat. Burger,fries,& a drink for $12 and tax. Classic Houston establishment. Highly recommend taking your lunch to go to Equal Parts brewing. Grab a delicious local craft while enjoying your Champ!

Good burgers, fast, and easily some of the nicest people around

This place is one of the best burgers in this city. Always delicious. Made to order. Hot and fresh. Vegetables are crisp and fresh, and the meat is properly seasoned. And the Bacon! If you like bacon, they pile it on. Service is always prompt and pleasant. Dont worry if there is a line they crank out these burgers quickly. The wait will be worth it, i assure you. Only down side is that they do not have a climate controlled area for dining. But honestly, the food more than makes up for it. Absolutely fantastic place for a burger. Don't sleep on this one.

Delicious old fashioned burgers, you definitely get full eating here. I highly recommend going there and getting a burger! So glad I found this little hidden gem, I will be back. If you're looking for a good burger this is the spot to go to!

As with a couple of my other reviews, I.e. MytiBurger, Someburger etc, this is an old school white bag walkup burger stand. So few of these kinda places left, and the ones that do remain are still in business for a reason. No fancy gastro burgers and truffle fries served in kitschy tiny galvanized tin served by a man buned hipster named Chazz. It just plain old good burgers and fries served in a white paper bag that you pick up from a window after the owner calls your number over a speaker. Stopped by on a very warm spring Friday during lunch .... Actually it was closer to 11:30. I thought I was beating the lunch crowd by 30min ... Boy was I wrong ... There was a line at the window about 10-12 people deep already. Not complaining. In my book it's a good sign to see a brisk patronage. People in line varied with both families of all ages and workers making lunch runs to carry boxes of burgers back to their shop. Even with the line the wait for my food was short. My companion has to wait a bit longer because they were brewing a fresh batch of tea. I had the steak sandwich and onion rings. I'll say up front the onion rings were a little disappointing. The serving was smaller than I hoped for and they seems too food servicy. With the initial appearance and vibe I kinda hoped for hand dipped fresh onion rings ... But what I did get was fresh hot and tasty. The Steak sandwich was a pleasant surprise. The steak was way too perfectly round to be site prepared, but actually was one of the better tasting ones I've had this year and I have no complaints. It tasted exactly like the steak sandwichs I remember growing up. I'd say my first experience was not something to drive for, but with so few of these types of stands left they are so worth the side trip if you're near the neighborhood.

We come here at least once a month. Best burgers in Houston. Family has been coming here for many years. My husbands grandfather brought them here at a young age. Consistent, hot, homemade, hearty meals. Pick up or phone in your orders: prepare to sit outside and enjoy life or eat in your car. Great establishment id recommend to anyone. Burger was dry. $13 for a burger, fries and drink is kinda pricey. I like Burger Park better. Customer service is good and friendly.

Much too my surprise, this place owns 5/5 without any hesitation. I hope to get one day back to Houston (but i doubt it) and I'll definitely visit Champ Burger again, the place for and by CHAMPIONS!

I ate there years ago. Great Food. Lost Three Hundred dollars (CASH). Fell out of my pocket. Went back to the place to see if they found it. One of their customers found it and turned it into them. They gave my CASH back to me. Honest people!

I'm from the Northside near Poppa Burger but I must say Champ Burger is definitely 20 times better in all aspects than Poppa Burger.

Best burger I have ever had. First off they are huge but they make them WIDER instead of TALLER so you can enjoy eating a monster size burger without a massive mess. Everything they sell tastes amazing. The price at first seems high but the food you get feels like more than what they charge. If you order any add ons like jalapeños or mushrooms they give you such a generous amount it’s almost too much and that shows they care. I will only eat here for burgers from now on.

Haven’t been there since 2003 took my son to eat and the food was still delicious definitely going to recommend to my family and friends plus my son said he’s definitely coming back

It was our first time here, and found them by review on Google and didn’t know to expect when we arrived because of the area… well, do not let the area stop you… this is the best best best burger we ever had! Not greasy at all, the meat is delicious cooked, the fries, the onions rings… everything is absolutely perfect. The lady who took our orders was the sweetest… they are amazing. Presumably there are no drink refills. And the seating is very limited - pretty much only picnic tables for 4 people.

Stopped by here since I was in the area, the place is a small burger stand with a lot of outdoor seating available. The burgers itself are really good with a lot of toppings added to it. With what you pay for, the portions are good for it's value. I ordered the meal with fries and a drink. Parking might be limited, but there is plenty of street parking available. I received a stamp card with my order so I plan on visiting this place more often.

Best Burger joint around me hands down. If you're lucky enough to get a burger they are so delicious and juicy. Excellent service, very kind and patient. I recommend trying everything on the menu. The shakes are good. Onion rings are great.
