Chemas Tacos is a Whittier institution that has been around for quite some time. The food is always delicious. Prices are reasonable. Finally, the service is superb!!!

The tacos were good and I did enjoy them while I was eating them at the establishment, it might need a pinch of more flavor but overall it was good. Will bring my family next time so that they can try them and give their input on the tacos, until next time!

Great food can’t beat the price cash only

The young man that works as cashier mon-fri has good customer service skills. This young man shows respect and is very courteous to others. Dont k ow his name but u will know who I am talking about when u run into his great service.

Chemas tacos are better than other tacos because (from what it looks like to me) they grill the meat, chop it, then finish it on the flatop before making the taco. This concentrates the flavor of the meat. So, you can add a lot of salsa and still taste the delicious meat. My abuela (grandmother) was a professional cook, renowned for her cooking. Anyone giving less than 5 stars to Chemas just doesn't understand good cooking.

I've been going here for over 20 years. They only have tacos and they are terrific. The salsa is perfect. Small street tacos so you can eat several. Highly recommend this place

Amazing legitimate LA Tacos, asked a local and he sent me there had carne asada, Lengua and Al pastor.. the salsa everything was perfect and all 2.0 a taco 2.50 for the Lengua but it was perfect left very full for 25.00. Service was fast and friendly

My favorite place to get soft tacos and the salsa the best. The people working there is nice. There closed on Monday, best prices on tacos.

Best taco joint hands down. Go here you will not be disappointed. Menu is tacos only and every variety is good. Get your tacos to go. Parking and seating are both limited.

Taco joint in Whittier that serves up great street tacos at unbeatable prices. Stopped in to sample these since stayed last time up the street from this place and could smell the aromas so had to try🤙All tacos are 2 dollars (tax included) ordered 2 carne asada and 2 al pastor with everything on it. Didnt dissapoint at all, legit LA Tacos. Should have ordered 4 more to go but started to get a line so i passed. Would recommend, 5 stars🤙🤙

Delicious! Simple menu and inexpensive. Only takes cash so be sure to have some on hand. They close Mondays, so don't show up all hungry on a Monday. All meats are delicious but my favorite of at this place are 1) Al Pastor, 2) Chicken, 3) Asada. At most other restaurants I prefer Asada 1st, but here the Al Pastor and chicken are super extra delicious.

This is a small place and you can eaisly miss it. I've been coming here for a few years now. The tacos and chilie are delicious. The drinks are refreshing Not all taco places are created equal. The staff is very friendly. You have to try this little place.

Been going to Chema's since I was in high school, graduated in 88, tacos were $.85...they're now $2 each and STILL worth Every PENNY!! My favorite USED To Be Lengua. But to keep cost under control, they've discontinued it and I appreciate that because it's shows Chema cares about his customers. I'd prefer he bring lengua back and charge extra for it, that's how delicious it was. My go to is now al pastor and Chema makes one of the best red salsas this side o the Miississipp!! HIGHLY recommended!!

Skip the taco trucks! Chema’s tacos are the best. If you are seeking tacos that are excellent in flavor, sold at a very reasonable price, and high quality food, then look no further. This is a must try restaurant. You can get 4 tacos and a drink for under $10. That’s rare these days.

I have been coming here since high school (over 33 years) and chemas is good as good. The owner is the same nice gentleman since then and I swear he looks like he hasn't aged a day. Kudos to him and to his awesome tacos 🌮😄

Very straight forward Mexican tacos and agua fresca or soda. They were made well with a very generous amount of meat. The sauce they make is amazing. There is indoor dining available. The guy that took our order was very friendly and speaks both English and Spanish. There are about 10 tables, each seating about 4 people and a few tables for handicapped people. The place was empty when me and my friend went. Parking is very limited and although there is handicap seating indoors, it may be a little hard to get in due to uneven ground. Restrooms are available. I will be returning.

I've been eating here since the mid 1990's. Tacos seem to taste the same. We live in Montclair, anytime we are in the area, I try and visit. By the way it's called Chemas Tacos, not Chemas Tacos, burritos and tortas. Just taco's....but oh so tasty 😋

The best tacos, best salsa and friendly service

This restaurant only has tacos. Mild flavor but savory. Meat are moist - some places can be dry, especially chicken. It’s a nice gem in the middle of no where.

I don't give 4 less 5 stars. This place is the best tacos in town. The modo on the sign is no joke pure truth. Simple yet elegant tacos. The flavor is amazing! Takoz buenoz.

Went in for a quick bite and was surprised by excellent flavor tacos, fast and friendly service. Better than most taco shops in the neighborhood. Highly recommend.

Este restaurante es un pequeño restaurante local que, según entiendo, ha estado aquí por décadas. Entras, pides y la comida estaba en la mesa, recién hecho en dos minutos. Ñam ñam! Las tortillas con maíz casero suave carne y pollo a la parrilla de asanas cubiertas con salsa casera de un hermoso cebollas, tomates y cilantro. . . Cata. tan fresco, volvimos y pedimos más. Dos de nosotros comimos por 7 dólares. Bebimos agua. Excelente relación calidad-precio, excelente comida, pero no vayas por el ambiente. Dejará contentos.

Me pasó a vivir a una manzana de distancia de Chema es cuando se abrió en como 87 o 89. La carne Asada tacos son los mejores que jamás podrá probar en Socal. Es verdad que el lugar es pequeño, y el aparcamiento es mala, pero la comida es excelente y sólo enojarme acerca del aparcamiento porque estás en una prisa para conseguir sus tacos. Chema es no necesita platos secundarios como frijoles o arroz. Este lugar es todo sobre los tacos. Pruébalo y le agradezco a la gente que nos molestó a revisión. Chema no denuncian que "Los mejores tacos en la ciudad" como un anuncio lema. Que es la verdad.

Cada vez que vuelan a OC, tengo que hacer un viaje a Chema es por sus tacos en la calle. El lugar es un agujero en la pared, pero la comida lo compensa. Tienen un menú muy pequeño y sólo lleva dinero en efectivo, pero los tacos son tan ñam ñam!

This is one of those itty bitty little taco joints but not to be missed. The carne Asada here is amazing! There is no fatty or grisly pieces at all. The tacos are perfect! Stop by and try! Cheers & happy eating!

Looking for a quick place to eat we found Chema's. This place is very basic, but the food makes it worth the stop. The tacos are authentic and tasty. We tried pollo, carne aside and al pastor. All were delicious. We had horchata as well. It's a small, hole-in-the-wall type place, but the food was great. The service was quick and there were folks ordering in a take-out, which is always a good sign. The card says they have the "best tacos in town" and it may be true. There is a reason they have been in business since the '80's.

Great prices with consistent quality. Carne asada, chicken, Al Pastor are my favorite meats for the tacos here. Don't expect any chain-restaurant frills, just very basic, tasty tacos that will satisfy the palate.
