Good Chinese food, as authentic as you can get in Florence and pretty authentic in general if you're not too fussy about details. Big portions, reasonable prices. You'd be hard-pressed to get a bigger quantity of tasty Chinese food for the dollar.

There were four of us. Only three liked their meal. I ordered curry it was not hot and it had a sweet sauce. I also asked for a bowl of soup. She didn’t tell me it was a vat of soup way more than anyone would have with a meal. I good waitress would have told me that. My friend ordered chicken chow mein with noodles instead of rice. She got a plate full of noodles a a little chow mein. She didn’t check on us until late in the meal. Just not a great experience for an $83 lunch.

Food is good, service was great and quick. Solid place for a quick dinner for two or larger groups. We'll be back

Seating and service was very prompt, the fried shrimp and spring rolls were excellent as were our entrees ( Mongolian beef and chicken with pea pods). Sharing a meal is the way to go here as the portions are quite large. We took home enough food for 2 more meals!

It was Monday, our planned dinner restaurant was closed, so we decided to try Chin's. We were NOT disappointed. The atmosphere is pleasant and welcoming. We were seated quickly and drink orders taken. After about a minute, the drinks arrived and we were still reviewing the menu selections. We placed our orders of Shrimp Mushroom Noodle, Kung Kao Chicken, and Almond Chicken. The orders arrived in short order and portions were huge! All the meals were served hot and wonderfully delicious.

This restaurant is excellent!!!! The food here is very good!!! I eat here at least 3 times a week when i am at the coast. Sometimes when i want good chinese food i will drive from my home over to the coast just for the food. This restaurant is very hard to beat.

We ordered sesame chicken , sweet n sour , beef lo mein , general Tso chicken . The general tso chicken - lo mein and sesame chicken had zero flavor - there was no spice to the general Tso chicken . I found the whole meal so disagreeable I could not eat much and considering the price is very disappointing.

Super-large menu (mostly various Chinese cuisins, but also some regular American dishes), prompt and nice service. Dog friendly. Clean, quiet. Big portions, fresh and tasty.

They were out of crab for my fried rice,so they gave me pork without telling me. Not cool.

This place has went downhill since I ate here last year. BBQ pork was 4 little tiny pieces with our $15 combo plate. They charged us to substitute … and this is the best part… ya know the siracha or chilli garlic sauce that is a staple condiment for Chinese food… we asked for some and were charged for that too. And then there was the “extra sweet and sour sauce” we asked for with the 2 big family combos we got… we got exactly 3 small packets of it TOTAL… THEEE!! Ya we won’t be eating there again next year

WORST chow mein ever ... steamed veggies, but not chow mein. Orange chicken was just breaded and soaked in some slightly orange sauce. Not good at all and will not return.

Very good food with excellent service and a very clean, nice atmosphere.

They didn't want to give us a couple of hot mustard little packets. When my wife got back to the car, she was really upset because the bad service at the front desk run by a teenager! Really bad!

This place was a local favorite mainly due to its really low price. Since the Covid lockdown there have been several cost increases to where it is a fair price but not a steal as before. Quality of food remains excellent, better than most other Chinese restaurants. Service is great. As a local it is still a “go to “ for me.

Vegetables were a little under done, too crunchy for my liking. I got the double mushroom shrimp plate. Large portions. The Long Island iced tea was definitely worth every penny. Service was outstanding. The pan fried noodles are fire! Order the combo plates for soup of the day. I chose egg flower.

The food was great and the staff were quite helpful. The difference between chow mein and lo mein varies in different states and they made sure that I ordered what I wanted.

Had to question the prices, seems the person didn't understand what I was ordering.

My wife likes it , so .... Ya know what I mean ! Sone of their dishes batter tastes old , like they don't change the cooking oil often enough , but we've been 5 times ,so we continue to go , and it's back to my first statement

The place is neat and clean and taken care of. Plenty of seating. They have a casino room to the right when you walk. The food was delicious and prices weren't crazy expensive. I recommend this place.

Very clean restaurant. We ordered dinner combinations with a side of pan friend noodles. Aside from the pan fried noodles, everything was great! They have yummy drinks as well.

Got there 15 mins after opening there was several people standing outside. They left as I was calling inside to see if they were open & wanted to unlock the door lol. Staff was friendly food came quickly. However what appears to be a maple tree seed (helicopter) was found in our dish. They tried to say it was a "snow pea and didn't come off the ground." I'll post a picture for you to be the judge.

Very bland. Apparently chow mein means a plate full of bean sprouts and 0 noodles. Seriously, could not find 1 noodle. Garlic beef was ok but also bland.

Still one of the best places to eat in town, and they have managed to keep it somewhat affordable! Service is usually good. The food is delicious. The lunch specials are a bargain. I would highly recommend!

Pan-fried noodles were burnt and appeared to be stomped on. Frying oil was stale, and had to go back to get items missing from order.

Excellent food, beer and wine selection. Peaceful, serene, atmosphere. Diligent and well kept staffing that provides 5 star service with welcome home exuberance and eagerness. Great for all functions and family celebrations. Highly recommend the slot room. Where there's usually always an open seat waiting for you to test your luck.

My normal dish sesame shrimp,usually so good. The shrimp were over cooked.

Portions are very generous and the staff is amazing. Egg flower soup is best in area. Prices are extremely affordable. It is pur favorite local American Chinese restaurant. Please tip waiter/waitress generously as they work hard and share tips with back of house staff.

While staying in Florence for a week, we passed Chen's Family Dish as we drove back and forth to the sights. Since we usually have Chinese food once a week we just had to try it. We were not disappointed! Not only was the food delicious, well priced and served quickly and hot, but I have not been in any restaurant that was so service oriented and efficient in awhile. Although there were lots of tables filled with lots of people, the atmosphere was relaxing and we very much enjoyed our meal.

There’s a couple of choices for Asian food in Florence Oregon. This is the best for Chinese food. The staff is wonderful. The portions are large the food is fresh. I have a very large menu. I got vegetarian chow mein, and it was really really good.

We were happy to find this restaurant our one night in Florence. We ordered the Cantonese Dinner for Two and it didn't disappoint. The food was good and the portions were huge! More food than we could possibly eat - it was too bad we were staying in a hotel and really didn't have a way to keep the leftovers.

Ordered take out for a group, 5 different entrees, all were BLAND! Blah, blah, blah. Used to enjoy this restaurant, last meals just not good.

Awesome. I wish every town had a place like this. So good and exactly what it should be. If you like Chinese food, this is a must stop.

We chose to order out and It probably was the worst decision ever. We had bought low mein for the kids and they put it in a plastic container and it melted through, so when I took it out of the bag hot sauce went down my leg and burned me. Also our sweet and sour chicken was very soggy and they didn't put the sauce on the side they put it on the chicken, hints why it was soggy. They also forgot our soup that goes with our meals. Then when my husband went to pay for our food he didn't tip big and they rolled their eyes at him. So that's my last time going there. Happy Mother's day to me! I also have pictures but I don't know how to post them.

We went to celebrate a milestone birthday 4-28-23 at 7pm. Food was outstanding, service from the gentleman was outstanding. Only reason rating 2stars is because for over an hour the owner 3 tables over next to the kitchen door was on her phone the entire time loudly talking on speaker. When I say loudly, it was almost yelling. We could barely talk amongst our own group. Absolutely unprofessional behavior for a owner to be blasting there personal conversations for all the customers to have to listen too. We almost got up and left in the middle of our food. We've been multiple times during lunch and was always enjoyable. Apparently this owner has done this multiple times during the dinner time. I would suggest she goes back into the kitchen to have her loud conversations over speaker instead in the dinning room where there are paying customers. Food and service was outstanding.

Food was amazing, BUT, my partner has a cashew allergy and we told our waitress about the cashew allergy and she told us to order something without cashews. I mentioned cross contamination and that was wanted the kitchen to know. We ordered entrees without cashews, this morning my partner has hives all up their arms. This is a warning to everyone with certain nut allergy, probably not a good idea to eat here because they don't seem to care much when it comes to this.

Been twice and love this place! We have not ordered anything we have not liked!

The food was delicious and portions were big, both my wife and I had to ask for boxes for all our leftover food. We have not had this good of service in a while, the waitress was super nice and awesome! Will definitely come back whenever we are in Florence again.

Great food and very large portions. I bet I could have bought one to go and split it with another person. They have a cool fish tank. Very ADA friendly. 5 slots if you're into that kind of thing. Clean bathroom.

I had the Cashew Nut Chicken & the dish actually contained a respectable number of cashews. My friends had Genetal Thao's Chicken & it looked good & spicy. The service was great and they brought us tea & apps without asking. I get takeout for lunch from here occasionally as well and usually it's pretty good. I highly recommend Chen's for anyone who finds themselves hungry for Chinese food in Florence, Oregon.

Food seems to keep changing in quality . Was really good , then not very good at all. Now it's medium good food but they changed packaging for to go orders and we get way less food than we ever did from here before 🤔

An excellent choice for casual dining in Florence. I had a huge plate of tasty cashew chicken. Friendly and attentive waitstaff, clean bathrooms, good value at reasonable prices, satisfying and delicious Chinese and American cuisine.

Chens has consistently good food. The lunch special provided a good meal at a very economical price. Their dinner menu, whether take-out or inside, is delicious and provides leftovers for lunch the next day. When we're ill, we enjoy their egg flower soup as take-out.

Great food. Gentle service. We got there in just in time for the lunch special. We got delicious sweet and sour chicken, general Tso's chicken and pork fried rice. The Thai iced tea was delicious. I had a delicious glass of King Estates chardonnay.

Food was excellent as usual. Normally we eat in but this time did take out and it was ready exactly when they said and still piping hot. Very friendly staff!

I found Chens by accident after I decided to leave a local pub down the road which seemed unclean and had unprofessional staff. I was pleseantly surprised when I saw a lot of people in parking lot of this small coastal town chinese restaurant, usually a good sign for a Monday night. My first impresion was that it seemed organized, that staff were friendly, and lots of socializing inside among guests. The food tasted great and was served hot. The batter for the tempura tasted clean and fresh. The orange chicken had great flavor. The pork low mein had lots of meat, the lettuce for the lettuce wraps was fresh and crisp. I judge American Chinese often by the quality of their egg foo young, which was good here. I recommend sharing plates as they are LARGE serving sizes. Honestly, I could have cut my bill in half by ordering half as much food and still been full. Lastly, the restrooms were clean. This is something I judge all resturants by. 5 stars from me.

The General Tao’s chicken wasn’t very spicy even though I asked for extra spicy. It was crispy and fresh and tasty, but not like any I have tasted before. While it was tasty it wasn’t what I expect from General Tso. The staff was very kind and willing to exchange the rice for lo mein and it is one of the tastiest lo mein I’ve had in a long time

We had been here about 10 years ago. We remember it being good but not just how good. Unassuming place located in Florence, OR, we were seated as soon as we walked in. Menus given and within seconds we had ice waters and hot tea brought without request. I like that. We ordered from the lunch menu, she lad the Lemon Chicken and I had the General Tso's Chicken. With the order placed, our soup, Egg Flower, arrived. More hearty than most I was surprised to find it full of noodles and veggies. Very good. Our main dishes arrived quickly considering it's made fresh. We both tried tastes of each others and our conclusions are the same. Both dishes came with stir fried rice and crab puffs. The Lemon chicken was very good. A large chicken breast, butterflied into two pieces, lightly bread and cooked to a perfect light crispness. The lemon sauce was delicious, a nice blend of tart and sweetness. It was fresh and hot. The King of the castle... was General Tso's chicken. I'm a bit of a foodie, with a love of cooking, and I can't figure out how they do it. The chunks of chicken are battered and fried until heavenly perfection is reached. The outside was crisp, but just the outer part. The inner batterer was cooked, (not doughy,) and soft. At the center, a perfectly cooked piece of chicken. The sauce was a mouthwatering perfect combination of sweetness and spice. This all combined to the best dish at a Chinese restaurant I've ever had. The best. All this at a cost of $21.50! The staff were prompt, attentive and professional. The restaurant itself looked very clean and a all but one employee was wearing a mask. Surprising seeing the CDC removed the need... Long story short, if you want great Chinese food in Florence, OR, Go to Chen's!

Just OK. Some dishes are very good, others are not. Wonton soup is VERY GOOD. Salt & Pepper dishes are WAY too salty and next to no pepper. A bit flavorless.

We ordered the Cantonese Dinner for two. While the appetizers were good, I was very very unimpressed with the entrees. In fairness, my wife liked it, but she's easy to please on Chinese food. I'm not sure I would return.

I generally am not a big fan of Chinese food but my first visit here was VERY good. Second visit wasn't nearly as good. Very odd, the difference in the two visits. Prices are very reasonable.

What is mu shu without the thin pancakes and hoisin sauce? Not much fun, that’s what. Sadly, that’s what was left out of our take out order. The veg and shrimp were fine though. I would advise against anything breaded/battered. Zero seasoning with too much, slightly underdone batter. White rice was dry, as was the bbq pork. It is the only Chinese food restaurant in town with a huge menu so perhaps there are other good things on it. But bad first impressions don’t leave me wanting to try again.

The service was excellent and the food is too no matter what you order!! I even spilled tea everywhere and they were so nice about it. They treated us so well!
