This restaurant once a staple of the culinary life of Mathews, offers a healthy dose of subpar Chinese garbage with a healthy dose of nationalism . I have been a patron of this restaurant for over a decade now. The new management team is awful. I have never been so embarrassed in a public setting. The service was indicative of a group of people who willfully disrespect American Culture. So sad. For over a decade, this restaurant was a cornerstone of Mathews' culinary scene. However, recent visits have revealed a significant decline in both quality and service. The new management has failed to uphold the restaurant's previous standards, resulting in offerings that fail to meet expectations. The service was particularly disappointing, characterized by inefficiency and a lack of professionalism. Additionally, there were disturbing instances of racial discrimination towards Black, Native American, White and Latino patrons, which is unacceptable and deeply troubling. This evident disregard for cultural sensitivities and customer satisfaction left me embarrassed in a public setting. The decline in quality and the apparent racism are truly regrettable.

Had a call in and was a pretty big order. Was ready when we got there and had already added all our sauces with it. Have to say it was the best Chinese food we've ever had. Very courteous when we came to get it and will definitely be back!

Very friendly people, and clean tasting Chinese food. They even gave us free food for my kids because we ordered a large order of food.

Edit 6/24- We ordered food from them tonight and I have to say it was delicious. I am not sure if they got new cooks since the last time we had take out, but there was so much flavor in our food. It was delish 😊 We get food from here quite often. It’s a take out place. We like the food here, it’s always freshly cooked and fast.

This fortune could not have been more appropriate. Honey Chicken didn't have any sauce: honey flavored breading, but completely dry. The kids were so sad. The Pepper Steak was all veggies: very little meat. And I had to ask if they offered a Mongolian Beef dish, to which they said yes, but compared to the Pepper Steak it was exactly the same dish. And yes, it also was all veggies. So I bought 2 of the same dish with very little protein. I've been eating here for 6 years. The quality has been hit or miss, but this was so disappointing. It will be my last attempt. Nice people though. A good hustle during busy hours. They do seem to care. ...but I can't eat that.

The food was really good the one time that I ate here. More importantly, to me, it appears to be a small family business. One of the things I noticed, was one of the gentleman that was working there came out while I came in to check on the food and was helping his son do some school work. I seen lots of smiles, and lots of love, and that shows up in the food unquestionably ! I am not supporting this place because they’re a small businesses because of the natural energy in the place, reasonable prices, fast service, and really good food . I just really like the energy. This place is a family owned business that puts a great deal of energy in family and that warmed my heart.. I’ve only ate here once when I was working in the area and got it on the ride home, but the food was phenomenal . Good portions, and a very reasonable price. There’s also very good parking in the shopping center where it’s located. 100% endorses place I only ate here once, but it was really good and really good experience.

Really Good Authentic Chinese Food. Small place couple booths, mainly take for me. I've been going for years , Nice Friendly Service Family owned. All the Dinners and Soups are great. I like the Shrimp with Lobster sauce. Singapore noodles are HOT Spicy 😥

Family owned. You can eat there but it's really more take away. Always good, and the prices are reasonable.

Food is always great! Quick service and take orders up to 15 mins before closing.

Worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. This is the first negative review I’ve written but this place was horrible. The restaurant was filthy. The tables were sticky, the doors were so smudged up you could barely see through them. The food was terrible. The “chicken” in my dish was rubbery and curled up. Didn’t taste any like chicken. I ended up throwing the whole plate away after a few bites. Overall tasteless with a bunch of undercooked vegetables. Awful experience!

Salty and greasy. The fried chicken wings were tough. Egg rolls very salty.

Good Chinese food, you know what you're ordering is what you're gonna get. The cook or manager I think was super hospitable and very chill.

The food is mediocre. The rice is yellow instead of the brown were use to. Very dry. The "chicken" doesn't look like chicken at all. It's some smooth little mystery chunks.

OMG!! This is the Best Chinese food in my area so far!!! I can’t wait to sit down and ear it all. Great customer service, a good variety and I loooove the egg roll so much that next time I will order extra. First time there today but not the last one!

Picked up the beef Lo Mein and it was cooked really well. Super tender meat and delicious noodles. The sauce was perfect.

Tasted very cheap. The Mongolian beef was very chewy and got stuck between all my teeth. The general Tso’s was mushy and flavorless. Will not be going back. I didn’t mind the Lo Mein, but my wife thought it tasted like fish (she doesn’t like fish), so also avoid this place if you have food allergies. Time to continue the search for a half decent Chinese restaurant in Indian Trail.

Food is always delicious and prepared quickly. The price is a bit on the expensive side for me but the hubby loves the food, as do I, so we continue to support the business.

This is THE BEST Chinese take out!!!! It is Family run and the owners are in the kitchen making sure each dish is delicious. Their shrimp & lobster sauce is fantastic and the shrimp are perfectly cooked. Egg rolls are great & the lomein is done really good. The service is fast and the prices are good. The food is constantly excellent and we are so happy to have such a great restaurant close to home. 5+ stars to this super restaurant!!!!!

Quality seems to change every other month. 4 years ago no problem liked the food. Staff used to be friendly now not so much. I understand the need to turn a dollar but I also understand that putting out good products drives more sales I don't think they get that.

Last week was me and my sister's first time going to this restaurant and we also ordered take out again today! The food is so delicious, we ordered their vegan/vegetarian dishes and the customer service is excellent!!!

My family has been coming here for over 10 years. Food is fresh and hot. Look forward to coming back for takeout everytime.

Food was hot, fresh, and tasty, staff was pleasant, location was easy to get in and out. No delivery is my only issue. If your in the mood for American Chinese food then this is your place

The service was very friendly. During the outbreak, the price didn't rise ,and I like their black pepper chicken and pepper steak.

We ordered from Postmates last night and it was still very hot and DELICIOUS! Singapore noodles, sesame chicken and lo mein. This will be our new Chinese spot!

This is the BEST Chinese food around. We live in Albemarle and i will drive 45 mins just to get thier food. Cause the Chinese Resturants here in Albemarle are awful. So as long as China Cafe on Idlewild rd Is in Business, they will always have mine.

I come here for lunch occasionally and this place is great. Always good quality food in a timely fashion. I usually get the sweet and sour chicken and it's awesome. If you're in this area check them out.

Always looking for good egg foo yung. Grabbed the lunch portion was super pleased. You can find a simple omelette dish anywhere but it’s the gravy that makes it tasty. The place is also very clean and they were prompt w the order. A nice friendly staff was also a bonus. Would advise this spot for a good Chinese take out.

Best Chinese in all of NC. Reasonably priced and always fresh... With a sanitation score of 100. You can't go wrong with this place. I love it!

The reason I don't give this a 5 is the fried rice was horrible but everything else was bomb good. We will come back for certain!

Came here a while back for some Mongolian Beef, and I found it excellent. Service was good, and no complaints. For Americanized Chinese food (there aren't many Chinese Restaurants in the US that are not Americanized), it is pretty much everything I expect and it does the job very well.

THE best Chinese take-out on this side of Charlotte. The fried rice in their dishes is actually fried rice! Not brown colored rice sitting in a holding bin until service. May not mean much, but IMO good fried rice makes the dish. The crab rangoons are pretty good also. Light and crispy all the way out to the tip, no hard, chewy points. The white rice, of all things, could be the best thing on the menu. It's really good, it may be jasmine, but a very good alternative to the fried rice. The service is good too. The young lady working the phones and orders is very polite and dare I say sweet, with a bubbly personality.

Food was average. Service sucked. The people that own it act like they're doing you a favor to take your order. Many other, better options in the area for Chinese takeout

Tried all other Chinese food restaurants in Matthews/Indian Trail & this one is the best. Been eating here for over 4 years. Curious if anyone knows what happened to the girl who used to run the counter. Every time I ask they just tell me it's her day off.

We are regulars here and we LOVE it! The best place to get Chinese food in all of Matthews! They always meet up to my expectations.

We order from here quite often. The food is sometimes exceptional and sometimes it's pretty ordinary. Overall I recommend it when others ask where to get good Chinese food around Indian Trail. The girl who works the front of the store and takes the phone calls is great. We love how she always says "Thank you, Bye Bye.....". Give them a try if you are in the area for sure!

My family loves this place! The food is great. We have eaten there multiple times and they have never messed up our order. The younger woman who manages the counter, has always remembered us. She's positive, asks about my daughter every time we go there, and always remembers our order. It has become one of our favorite places to eat.

I am very picky about my Chinese food. Trust me when I tell you the food here is EXCELLENT! Made to order. Take out food is hot when you get home with it. My new fave!
