Really good food really good service

Lunch was exceptional and service was great. Food was delicious. Ate my hot and sour soup before I took the pic.

This was our first visit and we loved it! The food was excellent and we received top notch service. We will definitely be returning.

We’ve been coming here for over 10 years and while some items have changed, the food and service remain too notch!

Just finished lunch and it was a great experience. I'm not sure the name of our waiter (arm tattoos) was the absolute best server. Attentive, quick, and kind to my kids who talked alot to him.

My food was good and came out fast. Also everyone was very nice and friendly. Service was attentive.

I rarely give reviews but I had to say something about China Inn. First, the restaurant was clean and fresh. It was so warm outside and the cold air welcomed us along with the aroma of delicious food. The host sat us down and was very patient, we were 10 that day. He took our orders and gave us some insight on the plates and options. The waiter then took our order and was super patient as well and seemed to know what we wanted before even asking him for clarification (so helpful). We began with the soups. Delicious, fresh tasty and hot. Best egg drop soup I’ve ever had. Then the plates came out about 10 min later and they were fully loaded plates. We should have shared. Even the kids plates looked like regular portions. Everything tasted amazing fresh, and hot. Waiters came to see if we lacked anything at the perfect moments. Service with a smile. For 10 full plates, drinks, and extras like soup, we paid about $139 for dinner. Lunch would have been even cheaper! We even had food left over to take home. We will definitely come back again when we visit SA! Keep up the great work, China Inn!

My family usually orders take out from here and yesterday we decided to dine in. The staff is so welcoming and the service was so quick! I ordered the orange chicken and cheese rangoons. So yummy! The portions are also very generous so had plenty of leftovers to take home. I also loved how welcoming they made us feel with our little one. This is one of the best Chinese restaurants in the city! Can’t wait to go back and try more items.

Yup, I gave a 5 star for everything. I dare you to come here and not give a 5 star. If you're sad, come here. You'll instantly get happy with the food if you just need be round. My husband and I both had a delicious large bowl of egg drop soup, sesame chicken and fried rice. 😋 lunch special 11am - ? $12.00.

I literally left there disappointed! $16 dollars for chicken fried rice a small little plate. The rice was stale and didn’t have enough chicken. I will never go here or waste my money on this restaurant. Too expensive for no reason.

My family and I moved from El Paso TX to San Antonio in about 2013ish. Since then, we have been on the hunt for good Chinese food. I believe in 2022 we discovered this hidden gem. I personally rate my chinese food based on their sesame chicken and egg drop soup. Most chinese restaurants in town are horrible. I would say, for a city that has a UNSECO declaration for food, does NOT know it's Chinese. I been to buffets, to bistro, to chains, etc. All ranging from terrible to eh. Then I found this place. Best sesame chicken in San Antonio, (Hung Fong is 2nd) best egg drop soup in San Antonio (Golden Wok is 2nd). This is our spot for excellent Chinese food. If you are from out of town and upset by the options, this is your spot! On second thought... I don't want wait times to increase, go eat elsewhere!...

My FAV chinese place, I refuse to go anywhere else. Staff is always polite and I never feel rushed. I LOVE the desserts they bring you to try and that they give fortune cookies at no additional charge. Their portions are large and worth the price.

Everything was made PERFECTLY!!!! The eggrolls were so crunchy and good and the Cheese Rangoons were so yummy! I got a General Tso plate with rice and it came with a Soup and Rangoons. I WAS SOOOO FULLL. My Partner got sesame Chicken and it was also very yummy! He got egg drop soop and he had to hold himself back from going back there and eating the rest of their pot of soup lol. Will definitely be back!!!!! The staff was also so polite!

Overall a great experience. The Mongolian beef is absolutely perfect. Egg rolls are legit, you can tell they are hand rolled in house. The staff is very friendly, outgoing and go out of their way to make you feel welcomed. And lastly, their restrooms are very clean.

Best Chinese food in San Antonio

This restaurant is a gem! Came here with friends on a Sunday afternoon and was able to get the lunch special. The food and the waitstaff were all great! The food was actually delicious and not overly salty like at other places and portion size was on-point. I definitely recommend this place!

Best orange chicken I've ever had

This place was amazing! We were just looking for something Chinese in the area for lunch and this place came up and honestly this might be our new go to for Chinese food. The place was really clean, the staff super friendly and constantly checking on us and refilling drinks, the food was super tasty and plenty, and also really good prices. What else can you ask for? Well done China Inn, you definitely raised the bar when it comes to Chinese food!

The food was phenomenal! Service was wonderful, friendly and very fast! The dinner meal you are able to choose an egg roll or Rangoon, a soup, and steamed or fried rice or lo mein! Will definitely be back! Cute local place!

Absolutely wonderful place to have some excellent Chinese food. It's not big or fancy, about like any small town cafe BUT you get a great meal of Chinese cuisine with very little wait time and served by a cheerful and efficient staff. I highly recommend China Inn.

We chose this restaurant based on good reviews and found it to be as good as advertised. We went on a Saturday evening. They were busy but we were seated promptly. The wait staff are professional and efficient and the service is quick. I had the Hunan Beef, extra spicy, no veggies, with lo mein noodles. The entree comes with a soup and choice of egg roll or cheese Rangoon. The chicken corn soup was decent. It included a good bit of egg whites which I didn’t really care for. The cream cheese Rangoon was very good. The hunan beef was delicious and tender and the lo menu noodles had a great flavor. My wife had the double delight Kung Pao with shrimp and chicken. She said it was good but was heavy on the veggies and light on the shrimp. She also mentioned that the shrimp tasted rather bland. Serving portions were very large with plenty of left-overs to take home. Prices were very reasonable. Overall, it was a great experience. Excellent food. I’ll definitely go back to sample other things from their large menu. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Best Chinese place in San Antonio. I've been going for the last 35 years now. They have won awards ( San Antonio best restaurants food award ) for how good this food is. I been to so many other Chinese restaurants and they are all gross and doesn't compare to China Inn's outstanding food. My taste buds only no good food and this food is out freaking standing

I think this is the best Chinese I've had here in san antonio! Love their food. Chicken is juicy and flavorful and big portions and pictures shown so you cant deny both. This is the orange chicken

My first time there and the food was amazing, had a good time with my friend, will definitely be going back. Oh and I almost forgot they have this salsa that is real good.

We love coming here for wonderful tasting food made fresh. The service is outstanding! So many choices. The dinner plates are huge and worth the price. You can make 3 meals of it!

2 Cantonese flavor profile dishes that hit it out of the ballpark were the Special Beef and the House Special Pan Fried Noodles. As walk ins arriving at 1230p midweek, China Inn was bustling with the majority of the neighboring diners enjoying their lunch specials. Seated next to the window, our order was taken and we were left munching on fried wonton crisps and sipping our beverages. First to arrive was the Special Beef. Sizzling on the platter, the beef was delivered to us piping hot with the crispness and bursting with flavor one recognizes as HK style. Diving in and thoroughly enjoying the mixture of textures in each bite, we were interrupted by the House Special Pan Fried Noodles arriving hot and glistening fresh from the wok. The noodles were not over sauced so you get that delicious 3 stages of noodle: crispy, crispy with sauce, soften by sauce, all on one platter. The wok hei was in the trio of sautéed meats and medley of vegetables over the noodles. Bowls of steamed white rice completed the meal. The portions of both dishes were very generous and in this economy a real value for its quality, presentation, and flavor. The service was very SA friendly with every staffer who came close to our table inquired if we needed anything. Truth be told, I had the same two dishes a year ago and it was fine but not noteworthy. But last week, the deliciousness of the 2 dishes had me thinking that a different chef wokked and rocked our meal. Kudos to China Inn.

If you want to be stared at, feel uncomfortable, have the hostess interrogate you and staff watching your every move…come on down. Food is boring, no flavor. WILL NEVER BE COMING BACK AGAIN.

Wanted Chinese food this spot came up and had decent ratings compared to many. First and LAST time I will come here. I ordered the General Tso shrimp dinner special with white rice crab Rangoon and chicken corn soup. My hunny ordered a plate with sweet n sour shrimp and orange chicken fried rice and egg flower soup please add green onions. Soup was like warm. By the time we received the chopped onions it could’ve been ice soup lol. My General Tso was over breaded shrimp that was dunked in a vat of sauce. Not good at all. My simple rice was crunchy. The Rangoon was SO salty. I tried it twice. Salty! I have no clue if it had crab in it. My hunny enjoyed his orange chicken and fried rice. Nice amount of customers, employee customer ratio was good. Many take out orders. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing

My son's shrimp and vegetables were great and part of their specials. Both the hot and sour soup and the egg drop soup we're very good. My shrimp egg foo young could have been cooked a little bit more, the inside was a little undercooked for my taste, they also add bits of carrots and peas in the gravy for the egg foo young which I did not like, as everyone knows peas are very pungent and takes over the flavor. However they do give you plenty of egg foo young, one plate is good for two people. Specials are from 3:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and it includes an egg roll or rangoon and a soup of your choice.

First, the good was excellent in taste and although a little more expensive, it's definitely worth it. This will be my new go to place for delicious Chinese.

The restaurant is well maintained and clean. The staff is friendly and accommodating, and the food is served hot, fresh, and delicious. Our grandson wanted shrimp added to his order, our waiter took care of it and it worked out great. We always have had great meals here at China Inn and visit everytime we are in the area.

I use to love China inn but it’s been about 3 yrs since I’ve been. I drove 20 min to get here to be disappointed. My husband and I ordered combination low mein. The noodles were not even hot. It came out warm and noodles seem to have been precooked and just warmed briefly. The chicken, shrimp, and beef is steamed. It does not have a grilled flavor. Taste a little rubbery as far as the shrimp. Lacked flavor just seems like it had been previously season with soy sauce only. I will not order this again. Lacked everything you want in a combination low mein. Missing grilled flavor. Don’t steam the meat it causes it to lack flavor but worst was the noodles. The egg rolls were amazing fresh and crispy. The egg drop soup and hot oil is always great. I’m just really disappointed that they have cheap noodles now and just kind of a Panda Express type of feel to them. The service was great. I was just really bummed I hyped this place up and my husband and I agreed we will never eat that again. I had to order another round of eggs rolls one for him and one for me so we can fill up. Please fix the combination low mein. This place use to be 10/10 not so much this time around. Not sure if inflation or what it was but it was not what I expected at all.

I wish they would have included amenities like utensils and napkins, but they made sure everything was in there before we left the store!

Valentine’s Day date! My husband had lemon chicken and I had chicken asparagus! Egg drop & hot&sour soups! Generous helpings as well as delicious and fresh! We have been looking for a good Chinese restaurant and this place did not disappoint. The friendly staff and clean atmosphere was welcoming and relaxing. Thanks to the very friendly staff! We will definitely revisit. And thanks to the sweet lady at the Family Dollar who recommended this place!

Once I found this amazing restaurant, I decided right then and there that I will never go to another Chinese Cuisine Restaurant, ever again! From the thick carefully prepared dough on dumplings and rolls, to the size and preparation of seafood dishes, I fell in love! It's cliche of course to remark "Oh , it's so hard to find a good Chinese restaurant!" No. No it is not. This is where everyone needs to be. EVERYONE.

Gave China Inn a third chance and they came through. I'm a big fan of their Mongolian Beef and also Pepper Steak. The egg rolls are not very good so I would stick with the crabmeat rangoons. The chicken corn soup was excellent. There are some menu items that are super tasty and others that lack flavor. I will try China Inn again soon, so that way I can try other possible tasty items. Update: The sesame chicken dinner was phenomenal and the owners were very nice along with the staff.

I love this place but we only come once a year. The food was better than ever and the interior has been modernized. My daughter asked me as we were leaving why do we not come more often than just New Years Eve. I told her I don't know but we can remedy that. And service with a smile. They have a great staff who are a team that makes sure your food is to your liking and made sure our drinks were filled without having to ask.

Service is great, food is ready fast and it's so healthy, not greasy. Portions are very good in size, you'll get lunch and dinner. You can ask for rice or lo mein. If you like hot and sour soap, theirs is delicious 😋 I like to order sesame chicken with the chicken extra crispy. You should try it.
