We only do take out from this restaurant. The food quality is not consistent. We continue to eat here, but not always happy with the foods. Sometimes a little burnt, sometimes a little undercooked.

Also have AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS BEEF, CHICKEN, SHRIMP OR VEGETABLE LO MEIN

The Singapore Mei Fun (with extra curry) was fantastic, lots of shrimp, pork, chicken, and eggs. The veggies were crisp and fresh. And they came through with my request for extra curry. Generous portion size too.

While not a gourmet place, if you choose your items carefully the taste is quite good. I recommend the Hot and Sour Soup,Roast Pork Noodles, and the Tofu dishes. Some dishes are overly americanized but ive found a few I like and I go back for. Also note, this is NOT a restaurant to go out and dine at. The interior "ambiance" is just awful. Take out only.

I won’t recommend it to anybody. Food tastes like old rubber. The price it’s way too expensive for the quality of the food. I would recommend to go elsewhere if you looking for something edible and fulfilling.

I always used to love the food here, but the last 2 times I've been disappointed with my meals. Kung Pau Chicken tasted like fish...ugh...I was really looking forward to my meal, but it tasted so bad I ended up throwing it away. First time I have ever thrown away Chinese food.

I ORDER GENERAL TSO ALMOST EVERY TIME. I TRY RO CONVINCE MYSELF THAT THIS TIME IT'LL BE A LOT BETTER THAN LAST TIME AND THIS TIME IT'LL TASTE BETTER AND THE CHICKEN WILL ACTUALLY BE COOKED AND WON'T SEEM LIKE LABORATED CHICKEN. AND ONCE AGAIN THE MINUTE I GET MY ORDER IT IS THE SAME DISAPPOINTMENT LIKE EVERY OTHER TIME AND I AM JUST HAD ENOUGH OF IT. THE FACT THAT WHEN I GO TO EAT MY FOOD I HAVE TO ACTUALLY SECOND GUESS IF IT'S REAL CHICKEN OR IF IT'S MYSTERY MEAT REALLY CONCERNS ME. THE CHICKEN IS ALWAYS SO STRINGY LIKE SPAGHETTI STRINGY, AND IT'S BARELY EVER COOKED. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS I'VE HAD TO RECOOK IT MYSELF BECAUSE IT WAS COMPLETELY RAW AND THE COATING WAS DOUGHY. NOT TO MENTION THE FACT THAT THE PORTION SIZES THAT THEY'VE BEEN GIVING PEOPLE LATELY IS ABSOLUTELY INSULTING. I RECEIVED MY FRIED RICE WHICH THERE IS NO POSSIBLE WAY WAS A FULL PORTION RICE. IT WAS AT LEAST A HALF A CUP OF RICE NOT EVEN A FULL CUP OF FRIED RICE. THE FACT THAT THEY WERE VOTED MOST FAVORITE CHINESE FOOD A FEW YEARS AGO MAYBE AT THAT TIME WAS ABSOLUTELY TRUE. BUT LATELY THIS DOES NOT SEEM TO FIT THEIR REPUTATION ANYMORE. I HAVE BEEM CONTEMPLATING ON WEITHER TO CALL THE MAINE STATE HEALTH INSPECTOR AND THE FDA BOARD.. I CANT EVEN BEGIN TO EXPLAIN HOW SICKENING IT IS TOO GET CHICKEN THAT DOESNT EVEN TASTE OR LOOK LIKE DARK MEAT CHICKEN. AND TONIGHT WAS THE LAST STRAW. GOT GENERAL TSO AND IT WAS SO SPICY, AND SO GREASY THAT I COULDN'T EVEN EAT MY MEAL. SMH I ATE A BITE AND GOT A MOUTH FULL OF PEPPER FLAKES. AND WHEN I CALL TO COMPLAIN EVERYTIME THEY SCREW UP ,THEY TREAT YOU LIKE YOURE LYING ABOUT THE BAD FOOD PR PORTIONS AND THAT YOU DONT DESERVE TO BE HEARD OR COMPENSATED. TIME TO SHUT HER DOWN! CHINA VILLA HAS LOST ITS LOYAL CUSTOMERS!!!!!

It's been the best in the area for years...tasty food!!!

Had take out was unbelievably delicious only thing was my order had beef teriyaki in two different dinners but wasn’t given. Simple mistake but for an order of over $100 they should have made sure it was all there also no fortune cookies were provided. The food that we did get was outstanding though. Will return but check before I leave that everything i paid for is there.

They never change their grease thats what everyone smells when going inside and they say they don't use fresh garlic just powder which is a lie they're just lazy and really ignorant staff i got so sick from eating there i was so sick for 3 days i tossed it in trash like the staff there trash 😂 🤮

Been wanting to try this place for a while and am kicking myself now that I haven't tried them sooner! Went on a Friday night for take out and they were absolutely slammed, which I knew was a good sign! The general tsos chicken is probably the best general tsos iv had in Maine, perfect breading and the sauce is amazing. Chicken wings were fried to perfection and everything in the pu pu platter was awesome. Will definitely be making this place a regular stop!

Got exactly what we wanted and crab rangoons were great! Our go to take out is place in Westbrook.

The food always gets to me within an hour of calling!! It is always hot and so yummy tasting. Cantonese food is some of the best Chinese food to me, and this restaurant really impresses me, time and time again! TO ANYONE ASKING HOW FAR THEY DELIVER, THE ANSWER IS WITHIN A 5 MILE RADIUS FROM THE RESTAURANT.

Everything I ordered was either Not cooked enough or extremely greasy. And the customer service sucked

I ordered a pu pu platter for 2 a pint of pork fried rice and broc & beef. $54 worth of food. I live in Augusta but when I have anything down ptld way I try to get China Villa. That was Mon. I only ate a few bites but noticed every thing was over cooked some things burnt. So tonight as I like it the next day. China Vila what's happening??? The rice was mush not fresh. The chicken fingers were slimy. The beef in the brochure was wasn't beef just fat. I'm calling tomorrow $54 I left a tip and complimented ur food. Not cool. If you don't want to serve decent food consistently don't bother at all! What a horrible way to treat a long time customer!!!

Food is good if it’s cooked the way you ask for it. Repeatedly told lady how I didn’t want broccoli hard n yet I got my food just the opposite way not happy!! Broccoli wasn’t even warm just thrown on the top of my item n I asked to have it like mush bc my grandma can’t eat it raw. I travel 45 minutes to eat there bc I feel it’s usually good Chinese food.

July 17th I've been getting food here for years. Love it, however my son called at 8:45 pm and they wouldnt take the order becauae they close at 9pm even though he was already on his way and would be there before 9 pm. He said, "I am on my way" but they still refused. Very disappointing. They lost an order for 4 and a healthy tip.

In their defense...I made a take out order of General Sao's chicken at 830 pm. The chicken was soggy, the rice tasted funky. The egg roll was good. But yeah, 1 out of 3. I was definitely disappointed. Not sure if I'll order from there again

We ordered food for delivery. They quoted us 45 minutes for delivery. We left to take the dogs for a walk and left our phones at home. We returned with 8 missed calls 18-22 minutes from the time we ordered. We finally called back and it was a very angry delivery driver trying to blame us for missed delivery and saying that he was already back at the restaurant, gorham to Westbrook I mind you. We told him we called 20 minutes ago and never expected a delivery from city to city within that time frame. He rudely stated he wouldn’t refund us and he’d “deliver at the next delivery”. We spent $105 without tip for delivery. You can bet that 20% just went out the window

I ordered the General Tso's combination dinner, and specified white meat only. The meal was six pieces of dark meat chicken with very little chicken and mostly breading. It was disgusting. I've had decent food here in the past, but today's meal was awful.

Very bad food. Egg Foo Young gravy was pure flour and lumpy. I was sick for hours after just a couple bites. We spent almost 50.00 and threw all the food away. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

Best Chinese food in Southern Maine

Worst restaurant I have eaten at in years. Smells horrible inside, the egg drop soup was awful, didn't even finish my chicken and rice. There are other better options to choose from. This place needs a complete overhaul.

I’ve gone to China Villa and their previous restaurants for close to 20 years. They were my absolute favorite Chinese restaurant to go to and even one of my favorite restaurants when considering any kind of restaurant. I loved this place so much that I would order three or four lunch specials at a time and eat the leftovers for breakfast lunch and dinner until they were gone and wished I had more. I loved China Villa. I loved them. Not anymore. After tonight’s order, I am finally saying I am never eating here again. It actually upsets me to say it because of how much I used to enjoy the food. They started deteriorating about 5 or 6 years ago. I would give them a break and try again 6 months later when an order was placed at work. The food would be hit or miss. I’d get a really good meal every so often and think they were back on track only to be disappointed with my next order. Tonight’s order was sweet and sour chicken with chicken teriyaki as the appetizer, Cantonese pork lo mein with chicken teriyaki, moo goo gai pan with chicken teriyaki, a couple orders or egg rolls and an order of boneless BBQ pork. The sweet and sour chicken fingers had the skinniest pieces of chicken beneath excessive amounts of hard batter. They did not taste fresh. They tasted like they had been fried and sitting around waiting to be stuck back in the fryer to be reheated for my order. The chicken teriyaki was literally like a piece of jerky you would get from a plastic bag while standing in line waiting to be checked out at Walmart. It was incredibly thin, overcooked and dry. It was like leather. Chicken teriyaki was a new appetizer choice for me tonight. I always used to get their egg foo yong as an appetizer and loved it but that has become one of the most flavorless things I’ve ever eaten. I’ve added salt to it and soy sauce to the gravy. It’s just not good anymore. The Cantonese pork lo mein used to be my favorite thing to get here. The last few times I’ve ordered it, it’s had an incredibly strong weird flavor. I can’t figure out what the flavor is but it is weird. Tonight’s order had a very strong moldy scallion taste to it. The moo goo gai pan was ordered for a friend and hasn’t been tasted yet. The fried rice that came with the meals was horrid. They’ve never had good fried rice. It’s always been very basic. You could throw a pack of soy sauce on it though and it was edible. Tonight’s rice tasted like rancid oil. The egg rolls were not horrible but they were not good. They’re half the size they used to be. They are all wrapper with barely any filling. The boneless BBQ pork was delicious. Pure sugar water and grease soaked pork. I know it doesn’t sound very appetizing but it’s good. Fatty and tender meat. Just the way I like it. Tonight’s order cost more than $74 before tipping the delivery driver. We gagged down some of the food to fill the hole but are throwing the majority of it right in the trash. None of this food will be sticking around here to have as leftovers for breakfast, lunch or dinner tomorrow. What a shame. I don’t know what has happened to China Villa’s quality standards but they’re long gone. It breaks my heart. You’d understand that if you knew how much I love Chinese food and how disappointed I am to have to write this review.

This was by far the worst Chinese meal I have ever had!! Had the sweet/sour chicken that was a very small piece of chewy chicken wrapped in huge batter! It was just batter no chicken. The soup had so much salt I couldn't eat it! Suppose to be dinning in, but we had all paper goodies, plastic utensils and had to ask for a paper plate! Also, had to ask to have the table cleaned. Never again!

One of , if not THE best Chinese restaurant in the area. Very friendly staff and the food is always hot and fresh. So hot that I still have to let it cool after I get it home! Do not miss the wonton soup. I can make a meal just out of that because there's so much in it!

Every Friday for the past 2 years we order China villa, always great food, good amount for the price and always friendly staff. They deliver to gorham which is even better!

This place literally has the best Chinese food ever! Its definitely my go to spot! The food is second to none and the staff are so friendly. The ribs are meaty and tender and full of flavor, egg rolls are on point and the beef teriyaki and beef friend rice...words can't describe!! Thank you China Villa for keeping the food hot and fresh and always having a smile on your face!!

This place is an absolute scam. What kind of Chinese restaurant would tell you there is no noodles in chow mein????? Thank you for a literal pound of onions and bean sprouts.

There grate but she recently change her recipe and started cooking with canola oil so the tast of the food has changed alittle still very good but was better or the best in Maine before she made her changed now not so grate I feel that China village in gray Maine is now the best Chinese food in the state of me to she lost her spot as number 1

No more ordering here due to portions are getting a lot smaller with same high prices. This has always been my favorite place and only place I would order. Over the last -10 months I noticed portions are getting smaller and price is still the same and figured no big deal. When we order out it’s like $70 plus dollars for the family. This last week we ordered out the portions are even smaller then the month before. So this is the last time I will be ordering here. I found a new place that has great quality and more food for less.

By far the worse food ever. Don’t waste your money. Ordered sweat and sour chicken on the lunch menu. 6 large chicken fingers came out cold. I complained and they made them over. This time they were overcooked but came out hot. The batter was so hard I couldn’t bite in to them. The white meat chicken inside the batter was tough and tasteless. their idea of sweat and sour chicken is 6 chicken fingers in a heavy batter with a pink/redish color sauce that is a little sweat but really doesn’t cut it. The fried rice was barely tasty. The only thing worth eating were the crab Rangoon but no crab at all. Please don’t go there Definitely not worth it

Wow! Visiting my parents and we decided to try China Villa for delivery. We ordered the Family Dinner for 4 given the variety offered at the price. Everything was amazing! For the entrees, we ordered the Beef w/ Broccoli, Chicken Chow Mein, and Kung Po Chicken. We have lots of leftovers! We definitely recommend China Villa.

I’m always missing something in my order. Today it was duck sauce. How do they forget to put duck sauce in my order??? Food was super plain and disappointing. I do a lot of business with them but I think it’s time to go somewhere else.

China Villa has the best Chinese food in the State of Maine.

Food is great however their menu states a $15 min delivery and then $20 min delivery but, DOESN'T state anywhere that there is a $5 fee for delivery. I tip well but know people that won't because of this and the food is already pricey. I hope the drivers atleast get a portion of this.

Absolutely love the food here! The carry-out container that my food came in is completely washable and reusable, thanks for this! Only one thing, I'm confused by the ordering policy. It feels odd that when you order online, it's only for pick-up and, when you call, it's only for delivering. It is what it is.
