An enjoyable and quaint place to eat if you like authentic food and a cozy atmosphere. Our food has always been good when we came and it comes out fast. It is small, so if their busy you may have difficulty finding a spot if you have a group, but otherwise we've always had a seat. (3 people) There are multiple choices on the menu for drinks and food so you shouldn't have an issue finding something. They have a cart int the front of the restaurant where you can get your sauces, extra napkins, chopsticks, etc, so keep that in mind if it's your first time going. Top recommendation is the hot pot, Fried Taro, or Thai tea. The one downside would be that occasionally the hours are not what is advertised. We have gone at times and the place is closed when it was supposed to be open. There was typically a notification as to why however. I'm from Thailand, and it's hard to find real Thai food here. I drove all the way from Blacksburg just to try this restaurant, and I'm so glad I did. The food is amazing, it tastes just like what I had back home. I highly recommend this place!

My favorite Thai restaurant ever. Been going here for almost 10 years. Never had a disappointing meal. We've gone here for many birthday meals and celebrations. I've tried most everything on the menu and really love the Panang and Massaman curry dishes, drunken noodles, Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, Pad Prik King, Tom Kha Kai soup, Thai tea. An easy place to get vegetarian and even some vegan food options. The ambiance is casual and laid back. No need to dress up for a delicious dinner.

Very much what one looks for in a small family run place. Decent variety, some well-made specials, great deserts. Their heat scale works well. I can handle some fairly hot dishes. My wife, on the other hand can't handle spicy garlic. They tailor to taste very well.

Hours show closing at 830. After calling from 750-810 to finally get an answer, they tell me the kitchen closes at 800 and the restaurant closes at 830. This is poor handling of business in my opinion. Along with high prices... my one and only order(to go) was shrimp fried rice, no onion, add egg(which most places already have included) came to $18 and change. To expect premium, then not honor their hours, especially when I made effort well before their closing time is just poor business. Side note-the rice came with onions after requesting without on my last order, and it was clearly an inconvenience to remake because they have bulk rice we onion made, and didn't want to stir some without onion. At $18+, if shouldn't be an issue. I live 2 mins walking distance from their location, and this could be a great situation for us, but I will never try again.

By far my favorite Thai restaurant! Their fried eggrolls, pad Thai, pad see ew and mango sticky rice are my go-tos💓

On a trip to DC, I ventured off of the Interstate to find this little gem! Great food and service; it's definitely worth a slight detour!

The hype is real, City Corner 2 has the best thai duck in the area hands-down. I have been here with friends and family and they have always treated us well. The place is cozy and the food is great!

Fast food asian...way overpriced, small portions squeezed out..can't even fill rice container...order was incorrect...store menus higher priced..not the same as online menues..they don't revise old menus onlines..that's false advertising..be careful..to enjoy ur meal u must feel like you got ur money's worth. No napkins or condiments..u must ask for chopsticks. Keep on squeezing it out lady..you get what you give...

Food was delicious. A lot of vegetarian options. They said they could prepare the tofu any way we wanted. It's very cozy inside and the staff couldn't be more kind. The spring rolls were great, and I really enjoyed the pineapple fried rice. You can't beat it for the price either! Can't wait to come back.

The food is ok for Thai. I've had better. BUT that is not the issue!! The service is terrible. I suppose I wasnt white enough or Asian enough to serve me as a customer. No one asked me for my drink order for 10mins. Served all the customers already there before I got some water, one plate at a time. And then the lady didnt check on me!! I waited 25 mins for my bill. Just terrible!!!

Came in an hour before closing and it was fairly busy but still a quiet and intimate setting. The decor makes it feel very cozy and comfortable. Service was great both people working were kind and attentive. The gentleman we had as a server was all smiles. The food was delicious and portion was generous.

We got there pretty late in the evening. But the combination plate meat was dry. But everything else was good. The satay did not come with enough sauce! It was so good. I got the shrimp pad Thai and it was good. Shrimp was cooked perfectly! Sauce was a little different than what I'm used to and no heat at all. Sweet tea was Lipton in a bottle.

I ordered takeout, but by the time I got there, the food was already on the counter. The food was ok. The pineapple fried rice and drunken noodles were on the bland side. I had to add sriracha sauce, just to give the food so flavor. The chicken Phai was okay.

I've literally tried every Thai food restaurant I could in the Roanoke area, and i have to say this one's my most favorite out of all. Truthfully my most favorite dish is the Chicken Pad Thai, which I try to get at least once a week if not more! I do wish they stayed open later than 830.

This was the best meal I've ever had in Roanoke. Absolutely delicious and as authentic as possible: lettuce leaves are substituted for cha phlu in the Miang Kham as cha phlu is very difficult to source in America; still an amazing dish. Tasty pad phrik king also. Incredible flavours, friend service, worth every penny, and I left very happy indeed.

Wife and I tried this hidden gem today for the first time... I can't believe this place has been there 16 years and this is my first time trying. Small little place with a cozy atmosphere... Friendly staff and fantastic food. Wife had the boiled dumplings... So good! The little pieces of crispy fried garlic on top brought a smile to our faces. I had the chicken satay.. Honestly the chicken was a little bland but cooked perfect and the peanut and cucumber dipping sauces made up for it. For entrees my wife had the cashew chicken and I had the masaman curry chicken. Both were VERY good! Spice level was right were we liked it.. Just enogh to make your nose run...lol. Portion size of the entrees were well worth the only $10 per. We both had water that was served with a lime wedge... Nice touch... And a nice Thai beer called Singha... Went perfect with the meal. We will definitely be back to work our way through the broad menu of scrumptious choices!

My husband and I come here for a first time. We had Thai beef salad, Lab Chicken, and Somtum (papaya salad). I like the papaya salad and the beef salad. The Thai ice tea is good also. The owners are very nice and friendly. It’s a small restaurant but the food is good and value for the money.

The food here is some of the best Thai that I have ever had, and it came out to us within 10 minutes. The server was super friendly too. Love this place!

It’s a local mom and pop shop. Nice place to eat Thai food. Quantity was less. Curry was ok ok not great. But fried rice was good. Mango sticky rice is excellent.

Thai iced tea is always good. Ka pao gai (Basil Chicken) is my go to with the fried egg.

Super fresh and delicious, and so many menu items to choose from. We got shrimp dumplings, steak salad and chewy rice noodles stir fried with chicken and veggies. All very good 😋

The mother does all the cooking & I've never had anything I didn't really like a lot Her younger son usually is the waiter & handles all the tables. I usually get take out. The prices are competitive & the portions are generous.

Favorite restaurant in Roanoke.

I hate giving "Excellent" reviews because it makes a place popular, but since I only get to Roanoke twice a year, and this place deserves the business, here we are. The setting is small, relatively cramped, and as one of our party has been to Thailand several times, so she can confirm, it is as close to eating in a small eatery in Thailand as you can get. The only complaint was from the Cashew Chicken, which was just a bit too spicy; but that was because it was NOT ordered Mild. You can't fault the chef for that, so I am giving them a pass. They have a limited selection of beers (which are great for moderating the heat, if you like hot/spicy food). I suggest the Singha: Thai beer for Thai food. Try it.

Just had dinner there and everything was amazing! From authentic Thai tea, to fried taro, bbq pork egg noodle soup, to my chicken basil spice level 2 with rice and an egg over hard on top. Will definitely be back! My new favorite Thai place.

This place has earned my favorite spot in town. The true definition of a “hole in the wall” - comfy, cozy, and delicious food. I’ve never had a bad meal. Their portions are generous and very reasonably priced. Even if you’re not a Thai fanatic, the menu is expansive and diverse. Best of all, the staff are as sweet as can be. Not sure if the two gentlemen are brothers but I just love them to pieces.

We came here with a group because we'd all heard that it was good. It did not disappoint. Everyone in our group was happy with their food. Service was great! We had a group of 7 and they brought the food out to 1 or 2 of us at a time as it was fresh and ready. But for parties of 2 we observed it's alot faster. Not much atmosphere, but the food & service was great!

Ordered Siam Pad Thai, Pad Thai, and Spring Rolls. $38. Seems like I got two orders of the same dish. Tasted and felt like cheap Chinese food. I'm very confused about all the great reviews.

Easily one of the best Thai places in Virginia. Everything I’ve had from City Corner 2 has always been phenomenal. A must go if passing through or in Roanoke! I recommend the Massaman Curry.

The food and customer service were incredible. My family decided to come here because we couldn't find any other restaurants in the area, and we didn't regret our decision. I normally don't write reviews, but the food here was simply outstanding. I will come again if I have the chance.

Thai tea and fish cake is good. But how could you use the grocery store fake crab meat to make a Crab Curry and sold it $15??? A shrimp curry with real shrimp is also $15

Mom-n-pop shop. I think the son is the greeter/server. AWESOME food! Great, friendly service! Google maps took me right to it. I recommend this place to everybody that asks me about Thai food. It is so good. I've heard nothing but positives from the people that I know have gone. Even received a couple "thank you's" from people that have taken the recommendation. If you have a chance to go, you definitely need to try this place! 2yrs later. Food still bangin'! Highly recommend this place!

My favorite place in Roanoke to go for a weeknight meal or takeout. Some bad reviews about their closing time -- they close at 8:30, so no they're not going to serve you when you walk in at 8:15. They work hard and have lives too. Great food, reasonably priced, great portions, and I think the inside is decorated very lovingly. Love the walnut shrimp and the pineapple fried rice. Craving to go here again just thinking about it.

They close at 9 bit if you get there at 8:15 they don't serve you. Very disappointed.

Walked in at 7:55 on a Saturday night, Googles states they close at 9 which is surprisingly early for a Saturday night as it is, upon entry the host very rudely explains the kitchen closes in 15 minutes, as to complain about my arrival, I turned around and will never return. Food is mediocre at best anyhow.

I’m definitely going back to try more. Really inexpensive for a good amount of food on your plate. Highly recommend.

Have purchased several items from here and some time and time again. Dinner is better than lunch. I think the owners have more invested in the restaurant than their son which may affect lunch versus dinner. A salad purchased for both lunch and dinner, was a world of difference. The lunch salad had additional filler ingredients and severely lacked the salad ingredients. Overall, with the best chef, a wonderful dinner at a reasonable price. However, it's hard to know who is preparing your dinner.

City Corner 2, with a very strange name, has delicious Thai food. We are very lucky to be able to find this in Roanoke. They are consistent and they offer a great selection of Thai items. Also, unlike so many other Asian restaurants in Roanoke, they offer just one type of food (THAI!). We've found the other restaurants in the area offer bland mixes of Japanese + Chinese + Thai + . That rarely means it's an authentic or good experience with real flavors. We've found the multi-type of food places to be very, very bland and over-MSG'd. However, that is absolutely not the case with City Corner 2. Their food is light, delightful and very much in line with the best of American Thai food all over. We would put City Corner 2 up against other Thai restaurants across the country (and we have tried them coast to coast). We had thai iced tea and it was great - not too sweet and with the perfect amount of tea. The drunken noodles were also delightful and had a lovely kick to them that would catch you a bit off guard. Loved them. The pad thai was everything you expect in a pad thai - it had a nice edge to it as well and the vegetables (bean sprouts, carrots) on top were crunchy as they should be. Overall, this is a great place and will be going on a regular basis.

One of the best Asian restaurants in Roanoke in my experience. I tried the red curry, duck stir fry, and massaman curry and I can easily recommend any of them. Unlike some others in the area, when you ask for extra spicy they'll actually give it to you which I really appreciate. This is in my top 5 restaurants overall for Roanoke.

Real authentic and delicious Thai cuisine! The best Thai cuisine with reasonable price in the area. The seafood soup in a hotpot, Pad Thai, and Thai coffee are a must! Definitely will return to try other dishes. Highly recommended!!

Thai Corner 2. They have great Thai food, I was amazed by the location because people would pass by without recognizing this place. They have so many options along with Thai drinks. Waiters are so helpful, welcoming and always smiling. Great service.

We like to go out to local Thai restaurants when we are traveling for work. We found this restaurant on here and yelp and decided to give it a try. As others have said the outside looks like a hole in the wall place and maybe not go in, but get past that and go in. The place is dated inside, however it is clean. Service is good and the Thai iced tea is perfect. I had the beef hotpot with some fried dumplings for an appetizer. It was all delicious and would recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a very good Thai dinner
