This place is by far the hidden gem of Pittsburgh. Follow them on social media to learn when reservations are opening and start calling early. I think I made my reservation 4 months in advance. Well worth it!!!

Every year we do our best to make a reservation here. It’s one of the best restaurant experiences in Butler County. They treat you like family, the food is unique and delicious, and the atmosphere is perfect. Be prepared to set your reservation at least 3 months in advance but that is what makes Clifford’s so fun and memorable!

Duck was cooked perfectly. Crab cakes were the best we've ever had. Desserts were homemade and were fantastic! Great portion sizes too. Will go back again.

Really excellent food and service. It's worth the wait and the drive.

Loved Clifford’s the first time we went then this most recent time was bad. The food was very bland and the pork chop had more fat than edible meat on, when I told the waiter he told me while walking away, “it’s a marble cut” except another person in our party got the same exact meal and 98% of his was edible meat not fat. The chicken Romano was extremely salty and bland. Prices are high for poor quality food

Omg ! This place I can die for …. Everything is so good. They made their homemade breads. Making reservation is hard to get it but worth it tho. 10/10

The best food I have ever had!!!

I was here for mothers day and was very pleased. Small family owned restaurant. Has a very quiet and homey atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and attentive and all the food was delicious. The picture is the baked Russian cod.

This is the BEST restaurant around for an elegant yet casual homemade dinner. Food is delicious from the Appetizers dinner to dessert. All fresh ingredients. It's hard to get in, so call way in advance for reservations. BOB. Highly recommend.

There is a very good reason that so many people book and then wait MONTHS in advance for a reservation at Clifford’s!! We took some “foodie” friends of ours there a week or ago and once again we were delighted! To begin with the atmosphere of this old house out in the country is quite charming. The layout inside is comfy and makes for a relaxing time while dining. The waitstaff there is always top notch and both our waitress and the hostess (co-owner) were attentive to our many questions. Why so many questions? Well the main menu has SO very many wonderful choices to begin with - and then add on 6? or was it 8 more? delicious sounding entree specials and we had a hard time deciding what to choose! Then layer into the mix great appetizer choices, soups, salad, bread and then finally dessert and we were more than completely satisfied! Not a one of us finished our meal but we all ate dessert anyway! You owe it to yourself to experience Clifford’s for yourself! No, wait! Don’t please! It is already entirely too hard to book a reservation at this incredible restaurant! But if you do - Bon Appétit!!

We ordered what they had on special...raclette and crab cakes for apps...beef tips, osso bucco (veal shank), rack of lamb, chilian sea bass (with lemon and capers). I tried them all and the osso bucco and chilian sea bass were my favorites. For dessert we had peach and strawberry rhubarb cobbler. They book a few months out...3-4...but it is well worth the European style experience.

I don't get the hype. Some dishes are good and some not so good. Bread and rolls are excellent. Cream of mushrooms soup was good. Salads are nothing special but the were very fresh. Chicken picatta was tough. Scalloped potato was good but the carrots and green beans were very underseasoned. My mom's veal Romano was also tough to cut. Avoid the Raclette appetizer at all costs! A total mess that congealed minutes after it was brought out. Food was on the average just ok. I don't know why people wait months to come here.

Old country charm and unbelievable food - the selections are outstanding, and the chef threw is a few appetizers from her native Sweden - great experience!

This is honestly the best food I have eaten in a very long time. Call for a reservation right now. Family owned and operated with local ingredients and an amazing revolving menu based on what is in season. The cream of mushroom was delicious, light, and seasoned perfectly. The lamb was amazing and cooked to perfection. It was a nice and relaxing atmosphere. Fresh baked, homemade rolls and bread. BYOB. I made a reservation before I walked out of the restaurant to ensure I could come back soon. Love it!

I was so looking forward to our dinner at Clifford's but was left unimpressed. We were greeted by the hostess who was so kind and welcoming! After seating us she went over a list of the available specials, all from memory, and then left us with the menus. There were quite a few options and many sounded drool worthy. Ultimately we ordered the raclette, the surf and turf (one with just the crab cake and one with crab cake and shrimp), the French onion soup, and a salad with beet dressing. We ended up with three or four different types of bread to start and overall they were good. Two types were heavily salted but one in particular was super delicious. The raclette came out fast but was lacking flavor. I loved the concept - potatoes, cheese, and pickles - but the execution just wasn't there. The French onion soup was full of onion but overall lacked that French onion flavor. The salad was a basic salad but the dressing was good. A tad sweet for my liking but a fun option. Up to this point the service was fine but our entrees took a really long time to come out. I'm not sure what the hold up there was. That said they came out piping hot and the steaks were cooked perfectly. The mashed potatoes were creamy and had some kind of garlic butter on them which was good but also lacking something. The scalloped potatoes were cooked wonderfully but needed a stronger cheese flavor. The fresh broccoli and carrots were cooked very well and tasted good. The shrimp were overcooked, sadly. The crab cakes were the best thing on the plates - very good for restaurant crab cakes. I wanted so much to love this meal after hearing neighbors and friends rave about the food but for us it missed the mark, especially considering the price.

What an amazing little cozy place. I heard great things from a friend and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere is a mix of rustic and relaxing. The food was delicious with large portions, you won't go hungry. Everyone was super friendly and answered all of our first time questions about the menu. It is BYOB with no corking fee. Don't fill up on bread, even though it was so good, you'll need room for everything else.

We had waited 3 1/2 months for this reservation and it was worth the wait. Such a quaint little place. Not fancy, just so nice and comfortable. The service was spectacular and the food fantastic. I had the Chilean sea bass and my boyfriend the Rack of Lamb.. Very impressed. I wish it didn't take so long to get a reservation because we would be back sooner. Highly recommend the experience, you won't regret it!!!

Worth the hype. Every single plate was perfectly prepared. I'm from the east coast, so I grew up eating crab cakes. They have the best crab cake I've ever had. The coconut cream cheesecake, so good. Filet, probably the most tender filet I've ever had. The quality is 10/10.

Call me crazy but were we at Clifford's or did another family take over the restaurant? It just wasn't the same! First of all the one and only stately "Mrs." wasn't there to greet & seat us or present the memorized list of luscious entrees. We did have the same warm and nostalgic feeling when we walked into the festively decorated dining rooms. Another charming lady did recite the menu in a pleasant manner. We ordered pierogies that had undercooked thick dough but a tasty filling for starters. Then came the French onion soup. Which never disappointed in the past but managed to do so with a tasteless and cloudy chicken broth appearance. Next 3 of us ordered the Russian stuffed (with crabmeat) cod. Also tasteless no matter how much seasoning we added. Another guest ordered the stuffed trout and again...tasteless. The other 2 had a steak and pork. The pork dish won the toss up. The pumpkin cheese cake was average. The best part of the meal were the rolls and BYOB. It seemed like the original chefs decided on taking an early holiday and they hired a fill in amateur. Would love to know what is really going on!

My wife and I love this place. You need to make a reservation months ahead of time because of limited seating, but the food is incredible and it's worth the wait! Everything is homemade and so delicious, we've been here several times and tried several dishes, everything is always so good! We go here on special occasions and look forward to it every time. It's BYOB so you can bring your own bottle of wine. Treat yourself to a special night out and a delicious meal at Clifford's.

Absolutely the best food in Western Pa. You may need to make your reservation weeks to if not months in advance but it is well worth the wait.

What a phenomenal experience. There's a reason there is a multi-month wait for reservations. We watched table after table leave and make another reservation on their way out. We ended up doing that too. The atmosphere, food, and service were just outstanding. There's no point in gushing about the particulars. I'll just say, the chocolate caramel tart I had was the best dessert of my life.

Make sure to make your reservations for the next visit when you are there, they book about 3 months out or so. Well worth it, and I was surprised how reasonable the check was!

Clifford’s is an amazing restaurant. The staff is all very friendly and knowledgeable, the atmosphere is refreshing and intimate. Now the food, holy moly is it superb. The portions are huge and everything is cooked to perfection, I could tell the Chef and kitchen staff really take pride in their work. Price wise, lets say this isn’t a fast food joint, but you really get your money’s worth, and then some. I will be back, over and over again.

Simply put, this is my favorite restaurant...anywhere. The food and staff/service is second to none - the best homemade breads and fresh-from-the-oven rolls you will ever have. Delicious salads that accompany every entree with scratch-made dressings (the beet vinaigrette is my favorite). The dinners are across-the-board excellent. My go-to (pictured here) is the beef tips and mashed potatoes, served with garlic butter and gravy. Clifford's is everything you could want in a special dining experience. Just make sure you book ahead, as they typically are booked up two months out.

Hidden Gem of a restaurant with everything made fresh. If you forget to make your reservation months ahead call at 4:50 pm to see if there's a 5 pm seating available. It worked for me.

First time at Clifford's This is such a WONDERFUL restaurant! Great atmosphere, very nice people and the MOST DELICIOUS food. THANK YOU to the chef! Ordered the Sea Bass with scallop potatoes, carrots and green beans. The rolls were outstanding! The food was cooked perfect, delivered to the table nice and hot. The server was very nice, attentive to our table, very pleasent. THANK YOU! Will definitely be dining here again!!

Absolutely wonderful Country French style cooking, exquisite service that is extremely attentive. What to order...now there's a problem because everything is excellent. Salads, mashed potatoes, vegetables...all excellent. Do not miss the bread under any circumstance. Oh yes. and then there's dessert...

A very personalized dining experience. I was lucky to get a seat as a walk in, this place is usually booked out months in advance. 10/10 would recommend for dates, or if you want to splurge on yourself.

The vibe is great, the waitress we had (Liz) was awesome, but the food was just good. It may have been over hyped by my family but I was simply unimpressed. The food was good but not great. I had the veal picata assuming it would be awesome and I've had better. The menu is alot of specials but they have things on the normal menu as well. The specials all seem to revolve around the freshest stuff which is something I really like about a restaurant. Over all I would give it a second chance. A great spot for a date night and I think reservations are required. The rest of the people with me seemed to really enjoy their food.

Absolutely the best food around mixed with the finest atmosphere.

Pricey but delicious. I had the surf and turf, lacking the surf since I was extremely hungry, lol. The turf is a filet mignon cooked to perfection of a medium rare. I wouldn't return any time soon as I can't afford this kind of dining all the time. Prices as you'll see are on the menu and they only accept reservations. Apparently all food is fresh made just for you.

Absolute first class experience as usual at Cliffords. One of the best - if not the best - fine dining restaurants in Western PA. The Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes with Sherry Cream Sauce were fabulous as always. The staff is awesome and very accommodating. The menu is much more extensive than is posted on their website and they will cater to just about any request.

Located out in the country no man's land beautiful scenery fantastic food Short menu but the everyday specials makes up for it because for everything on the menu there's like three or four specials so everything on the menu you get four times as many choices that makes it real big everything's made fresh and to order biscuits or to die for crab cakes are out of this world scallops never had any better chicken Romano fantastic appetizer of steamed mussels fantastic I could go on and on and on but also I'm doing is making myself hungry thinking of it give it a try Make sure you make reservations little tough to find the first time but GPS will get you there like I said can't go no place better never been to a better place and you can bring your own bottle

Fabulous food. I got the Trout, which was good, but recommend the filet or surf & turf, what my husband had. Raspberry cobbler was really good.

Wow is just the beginning of describing the most wonderful food. Started with crab cake appetizer & grilled vegetables over polenta & red sauce. Salad was fabulous with mmmm homemade salad dressings. Duck breast cooked perfectly with fruit sauce and we also had lamb rack with mushroom sauce. If you want a dining experience make a reservation the family & staff so warm & welcoming. Oh the homemade bread will make you want to fight over

My wife and I have been to numerous restaurants in the Pittsburgh area and NONE are comparable to the great experience of dining at Cliffords....from the initial greeting, service and excellent food preparation and presentation. Additionally, they're very amenable to preparing special meals, if requested in advance.

I'd heard from a number of people how great Clifford's was and finally was able to get out here for an anniversary dinner. Absolutely wonderful! Atmosphere is so refreshing. Quaint decor and music that is actually background music! Nicole is a great server, attentive and so pleasant. The food is outstanding! Everything was delicious! Looking forward to returning

This restaurant rocks! Elegant, engaging, and homey atmosphere. The owners run and work there. They are a family and they clearly work well together. The menu is small, the specials are many(!) So pay close attention as the hostess lists them. It is b.y.o.b. and chilled decanters are at the ready. The food arrives piping hot so you may continue your conversation while you pause before digging in. Call two months in advance for reservations in this intimate setting. And please tell them I will be calling soon!
