Friendly wait staff and great food!

I visited with a group of 6 ladies. We love the old buildings but this one could use a little bit of a spruce up. Our table felt like it was just ply wood and was very sticky, as was the floor. The waitress didn't smile and barely offered many words. I ordered the Chicken Bacon Ranch pizza. It was pretty good but there was NO bacon. The fried pickles were very good. One of us ordered sweet potato fries and they were visibly burnt. She was unable to eat them. The salads were gigantic and price well but everything else was rather pricy for what we got.

Good food the lady got me water instead of my mt dew but other than that good the Butter was frozen and the baked potato could have cooked a couple more minutes but all in all good food

Pork tenderloin was very salty, bratwurst was good but just a bratwurst on a toasted bun, the barrel chips are standard side for sandwiches & very good, so no need to up grade to a different side…up charge is $4 for a side of onion rings that were clearly store bought & from the freezer. Fried pickels were ok, also guessing store bought, but better than the onion rings. Drinks were good, place was totally quiet unless you wanted to feed the juke box.. what happened to restaurants playing any background music without feeding a jukebox? Beer and wine was good of course, your in Hermann. Probably would not go back but We may have just ordered the wrong thing, as we saw some platters and salads that looked pretty good. The waitress said their pizza was good, but we just had pizza the day before. Two sandwiches, up charge for onion rings, Fried pickle appetizer, a beer and a glass of wine……$56 with tax, still need to add tip, not worth it for that cost…

Our recent visit to this restaurant was the worst dining experience we’ve ever had. We came in on a Saturday afternoon with twelve family members from different cities and states, hoping to enjoy a special time together. We managed to grab three high-top tables and pushed them together so we could all sit and mingle. However, the waitress rudely informed us that moving tables was not allowed and referred us to a sign. She condescendingly commented, “I guess you’ve never worked in a service position, but other customers would also want to move their tables and we can’t have that.” Ironically, several of us have worked in the service industry and have never encountered such an issue. We requested to speak with the manager, but no one ever came to address our concerns. We separated our tables and continued to order drinks. We decided to play their hook and ring wooden toss game, adjusting the tables slightly to make space. When the waitress returned, she accused us of trying to mess with her, insinuating we were still attempting to move the tables. We ordered food and waited for an hour without receiving our complete order. Frustrated, we decided to leave. After paying our separate bills and tipping 20%, our waitress tearfully explained that our food had been delivered to the wrong table and that it wasn’t her fault. Despite this, we never received an apology or a visit from the owner or manager. There were numerous opportunities to improve our experience, but instead, it was a complete disaster. The lack of professionalism and customer service was astounding. We won’t be returning and advise others to steer clear. Do better.

A classic bar to grab some cold drinks and some great food. Place was packed, which is a good thing, so service was a bit slow, but overall, a great experience.

My only complaint is that my catfish was twice the size of my bun. So not really a complaint. Love this place.

Placed an order online and was called back and told that they were too busy and couldn't make our order. When asked if they could return the money back to my card they stated they didn't know how and that I should call back and talk with the manager in the morning. This is poor business .

Wanted another German meal. Not as good as some other area restaurants, lukewarm. Chili good. The service very good. Impressed that they have hired young staff that though too young to serve alcohol did excellent work serving food, clearing tables. Atmosphere and vibe way better than the top of the hill much more expensive place. Wine less expensive too and a generous pour.

Ashtyn was absolutely amazing! GO SEE HER! The atmosphere was very chill and relaxing! The food was great, drinks even better! Will be back to see her! 10/10 recommend the apple pie moonshine shot!

Pretty neat place to eat lunch. There was plenty to see in Hermann, and this was the perfect place to take a break. Try the Brats!

Service was a little slow, but the place was packed. I got super hangry after waiting for food for over an hour. But, their Reuben sandwich was freaking delicious and totally made up for the long wait. Will make the hour drive for this sandwich again.

A mostly 5 star experience here. Highly recommend the pizza! The atmosphere is more bar like on the left side and quieter on the right side. The atmosphere isn't amazing, it could be more updated and clean, but otherwise it's a great place. We tend to get pizza to go.

Not a bad spot at all. Tvs for the game. Full bar. Full menu and sit down dining. Menu has lots of variety, and everything we ordered was just as it was listed. Ample casual seating. Open year round. Rustic bar and grill. Worked perfect for us.. the guys had a few beers and food while my friends walked thru the shops of downtown. Good prices and portions. We had a few apps and the Pretzel sticks were done if the best we've ever had. We will go back next time we are in town.

Totally amazing food, this place has really good for American German food! The price for what you are getting is great, the quality and craftsmanship of the kitchen is amazing.

The burger was good, cooked well, toasted bun, served hot, 9/10. Fries were ok, standard frozen crinkles, could have used a bit more color and crunch on them. They weren't super fresh, but weren't old either. The only detraction was the chick smoking behind me. And if Jacob Page is reading this, you better stay away.

The food was awful. My burger was very dry. My niece had a piece of plastic in her salad. When it was brought to the waitress attention. She said that's not good but didn't take anything off the price. My nieces chicken sandwich was very dry. This was my first time here and I won't go back. Very disappointed

Food took a very long to come out during an empty lunch service. I barley had time to eat before I had to join a call. Burgers were priced between 15-20 bucks. Service wasn’t very friendly at all.

Waitress was crabby, condescending and overall seemed perturbed that we even showed up in her section. I tried to ask for another server and she continued to serve with attitude and then began talking about is to other staff and talking under her breath about people from out of town being annoying. I will never eat here again and if I owner the bar, I would instantly fire the waitress in question

We went as a group of 8 and had a blast. The food was great and the atmosphere was very fun. The service was not so good because it was unbelievably crowded and the staff had its hands full. However, the service got much better later in the afternoon as the crowds thinned.

We got a totally dirty cup with coffee when my friend ask nicely for a new cup the managers mom rolled her eyes! Never smiled barely spoke! Probably won't eat there again!! Our regular waitress was very good! Food was great! She needs a day off!!!

I ordered the Bratwurst platter, with German Potatoes and Red Saurerkraut. The brat was charred on one side and raw on the other side, the potatoes were great, sauerkraut had very little flavor. My wife ordered the burger (medium) it was like a Meal Ready to Eat burger and should have been reconsituted it was so dry and well done. Service was slow and sorta friendly. If we go back to Hermann we will not go back to the Concert Hall. I'm surprised it's the oldest continually operating tavern west of the Mississippi. A group of "gentlemen" were sitting about 5 feet away from us and continusouly dropping "f" bombs. Not happy at all. Update: OK raw was the wrong word, how about cold... No mention of the people cursing sitting near us. Thank you for the cookie cutter response.

Food is good. This place is perpetually understaffed. Don’t sit outside if you don’t want to get all your food and drink on your own. You’d think there’d be more than one barkeep at Oktoberfest.

This place is always a blast, good drink selection, nice staff and always fun to be had.

Food was good as always. Took us over 15 mi for someone to even come over and acknowledge that we were there, and she walked by 2 times! As for service and getting the bill, very disappointed. Party of 4 and we had gratuity already added on out ticket. Wasn't very happy, we argued with them and they said large party/ large ticket. When is a party of 4 large. Our server brought back our ticket and we would have left her more but she threw our tickets at us and left. I know it's October fest but come on you want people to.treat you nice you should do the same!!!

Table of 4 separate checks and we still got billed for graruity. No way should we be told how much of a tip to give someone. We sat for like 20 minutes before we even got our drinks out in. And then in the bathroom a group of girls complaining about appetizers and too high prices for quality. Next time we will sit at the bar and order on separate checks.

The beer is cold and the food is hot! We stop by when we're traveling. Herman is a great spot to stretch our legs on a long road trip. Food and beer definitely hit the spot. I was so hungry I forgot to take pictures! We will have a chance next time we're in the area. See you soon!

Good variety of food choices. Great selection of German foods on the menu. Building is old and has been left mostly origonal in structure. Quite a large number of tables to accomodate a bigger crowd if one is traveling in a group. Pricing is reasonable, in line with other restraunts of this type. Staff was courteous and took good care of us. If you are traveling in yhis area I suggest this as a good place to choose to dine.

My son and grandchildren were in town for my granddaughter's wedding and we stopped by to grab dinner. The server was terrible. Another server finally took our order because she never showed up. We waited over a hour for a berger and chips. The berger was terrible and the chips were stale. The mozzarella sticks were great. I would give it a 0 star if I could.

The waitress we had was very very rude and the food was nasty what a horrible experience for our first time here as a vendor.

9/6/23,First time going to this cute town,I didn't know the 2 recommended restaurants given to me were closed on Tuesday and Wednesday,The only thing open around 430, was this place,I walked in and my friend and I went to bar area,next to bar and I thought the one drink menu at each table was their food menu and went to put it back ,The barmaid/ waitress, was kinda angry when I did this,Saying, you will get the menu, why would you grab that? I said sorry,but really wanted to say something else, but I wasn't gonna let her ruin my day. I asked what she suggested,while taking our order , with a attitude she said ,I like pork sandwich,So I ordered there snizel dinner, loved there red sweet cabbage the pork snizel was ok, my friend asked for horse radish and had to ask again ,when almost done, at the end my friend wanted peach cobbler to go and then asked the women to make it for her and added the Ice cream.I went to bathroom and nearly died, so gross and smelled like pee,If I knew this before eating would not of ever eaten here. Returned to table, waitress came with to go desserts and I said, She asked you to have it here because she wanted the ice cream and you said ok. When ordering it... Wow, what a attitude we got!!!! It was not busy! But folk's save your money and pass this place by if your in a good mood ,this lady was full of negativity.

Our friends, my wife, and I stopped in for dinner. The location is a historic location but in need of a lot of restoration. Showing it's age. We got there about an hour before they stopped serving. They were not busy, but we got the feeling they were ready to close. The server took almost 15 minutes before she acknowledged our table. We placed our beverage order, a couple soft drinks, 4 waters, and a bourbon. 10 minutes later, she came to take our food order and still did not bring our drinks. She "forgot" about our drunk order. The food came fairly fast, but still no drinks. "The bar was still making them". One of our friends and my wife had the Schwein Schnitzel, another friend ordered the wings, and I had the Bratwurst Sampler Platter. I ordered their chili, but they did not have it that day. The food was good and good portions for dinner. The Brats were very good, Wings were average, but the Pork Schnitzel was average at best we definitely have had better. We live in Wisconsin, and German food is a staple. By the way, we finally did get our drinks.

Strong smell of grease when you walk in. The decor is fine. We had fried mushrooms which were good. For dinner I had the Schwein Schnitzel with Jeager which was really good. The German potato salad was fair. Our waitress was wonderful.

In town for Maifest. Family looked at several menus online. We decided Concert Hall and Barrel Tavern had something on the menu for everyone. After ordering drinks, we realized the menu only offered 2 entrees and both were seafood options. We asked the waitress and was told the menu is scaled back due to the festival. Went in Saturday evening for dinner and sat at the bar. The bartender (younger gentleman) was not remotely interested in serving anyone and we had to constantly ask for drinks and anything we needed. Not once throughout the 3-hour experience did he ask if we needed any refills or any additional drinks or anything to eat. The food was all over cooked and took over an hour to get. Seriously, I have never been treated so poorly. It took over 1 1/2 to get our food. Then, we had to almost beg to get the bill at 2 + hours. The waitress finally stopped talking to her friends at the bar, and flipped me off!!! I was shocked and appalled and got very upset, of course. The waitress got upset at our whole table for not dealing with the poor service! All the time the boys in the kitchen were just watching, finally stopped eating and playing and dispursed. Update for 2023 - hoyt is gone because of personal issues. service and quality of food is not a top priority. Food mostly sucks. Some bartenders are horrible. Some are good. Review from 6 years ago: I grew up a block from there and have been going there since I was 5 years old (only drinking root beer back then), with my grandfather.
