We had the cheese burger and the sauerkraut pierogies. Awesome.

Wonderful pierogies and even more wonderful people running this awesome place. My wife and I stopped on an anniversary trip to Pittsburgh. We love pierogies. Had no idea dessert pierogies even existed but the pumpkin and caramel apple were amazing!!! All of the others we tried were amazing too and we grabbed frozen to take home. The stuffed cabbage was great too!!

SO GOOD! We came for lunch and got the platter, plus a dozen pierogi (ask what flavors they have "loose," and you can mix and match), potato pancakes, and kielbasa bites. This was more than enough for 2 adults and a toddler, so we enjoyed the leftovers at home. We had the potato & cheese, spinach & feta, and gyro pierogi flavors, and all were great. Everything was great haha. We bought some frozen pierogi (pepper butt and potato & cheese) to bring home. This is a true "Mom and Pop" operation. The owners were super nice (and the only people working there at the time). They even gave our 3yo a little stuffed animal and brought out free French fries and homemade applesauce for her (both of which were great). We will definitely be back, and will be recommending this gem to others!

Excellent food and customer service!

This was my first time trying Pierogies, everyone kept saying they were just ok, nothing great, but we went to this spot and everyone changed their mind, we all realized they can be so delicious if you try them from the right spot! THIS is the right spot!! Super delicious! My favorite was the Buffalo chicken. And the Apple caramel ones. The caramelized onions along with it made it perfect.

We absolutely loved the place. I really wasn't expecting much to what appeared to be a small counter joint restaurant. But their Perogies are out of this world! We hope to stop by again before heading out to a nature walk.

4.5 stars. This pierogi restaurant got its name from the owner who is a former police officer. The restaurant serves pierogies in dozens of traditional flavors (potato and sauerkraut) and non-traditional flavors (chicken marsala and gyro) as well as some other Eastern European foods. I purchased potato pancakes, haluski, sauerkraut pierogies, potato-cheese pierogies, lekvar pierogies, and Bavarian-cream pierogies. All of these foods tasted good, and I particularly enjoyed the dessert pierogies.

Out of town and wanted to find some pierogies. These were excellent! Great, friendly service. I am happy we found this little gem.

We stop here when we travel home from NC-PA. Always friendly and fast service. The polish platter is the way to go and ALL the dessert pierogies flavors are always a good way to end the delicious meal. Always look forward to this stop when we head north!

KIND BUSINESS ALERT! Carl & Lisa run an incredible restaurant. The food is outstanding. Portions are large and worth every penny. The variety will make you want to return again & again. The cabbage roll is wonderful. Perfect! Very small space to eat in. They have limited hours. Owned by a retired police office, hence the name! Support local businesses. I'm from Chicago, and these are some of the best periogies I've ever had!

Friendly and fantastic! It was our first time trying them and they will be a go-to from now on! The gyro pierogi's were a huge hit!

I googled this place before I went there for lunch, they had great reviews and the woman and man are so very nice. It’s a cute place to grab a bite to eat. They have maybe 4 tables so not a real big place. The chicken parm pierogies I had were good. It was a lot of cheese in them. So if you like a lot of cheese get that one. The nice gentleman that works there made this homemade applesauce and I tried it and I swear it was the best applesauce I had ever tasted, beautiful blend of cinnamon and apples. I would definitely purchase that if it was sold on the shelves in a store. The fries were very delicious!! Overall, a great place to stop if you are ever in the area. I will be back.

I came here Saturday for lunch with a few friends. Everyone there was so friendly, and the pierogis were very good. We enjoyed eating there and I'm glad that we stopped by for a meal!

So drove 4 hours to Pittsburgh for a parade, this place made it worth it without the parade

I was visiting Pittsburgh for the first time with my siblings and we knew we wanted to try some Famous Pittsburgh Pierogis! When we walked into Cop Out Pierogies we were greeted with smiles and such welcoming people! Thank you for the amazing pierogis! We are so excited to cook up the frozen ones we bought! Your insight into Pittsburgh and all the places we should go while visiting was fantastic! Will be visiting again if ever in Pittsburgh! My only question is... Are you available to ship frozen Pierogis?!

They are very different from Polish dumplings, unfortunately to their detriment. Problem with payment terminal, we had to pay in cash.

Had a coworker get these for me delivered to our work, got the cheddar pierogies and it was the most bland flavored pierogies I have ever had. Tasted like boiled potatoes wrapped in dough without any cheddar. I have had frozen pierogies that had more flavorful taste to it. Despicable to sell these

THEY HAVE GLUTEN FREE PIEROGIES! It has only been a couple months since adopting a GF lifestyle and I sincerely have been missing all the food that I used to eat, pierogies included. What’s even better- is that they were absolutely delicious-you wouldn’t even be able to tell if no one told you. I ordered them hot with butter and onions, and I literally ate the whole dozen in one sitting- they were that good. Amazing customer service with a smile. I will forever be a repeat customer. GO TRY!

Great owners and good food! Pierogis (I had bacon, potato, and kraut) and stuffed cabbage were excellent. Haluski was a bit bland, but I am used to kielbasa and sauerkraut in mine. Owners came out and gave me a couple of free samples of other items, made me feel very welcomed. Good people. I will be back soon!

We came to eat here after moving back home to the Pittsburgh area from down south. The food, service, and everything else this restaurant had to offer was amazing. They were such friendly people and were nice and accommodating to my toddler and 4 month old. They even gave us some dessert pierogis to try (they were so good!!). My toddler even got out of lunch with a new toy from one of the men who work there. We will definitely be back.

If this place has ten thousand fans, I am one of them. If this place has zero fans, I am dead. This was our first time to Pittsburgh so of course we had to stop and get a pierogi. I am so glad we drove out of the city a little bit to find this place because it was so worth it. The owners were so rad and you can tell they care a lot about their business. The pierogis were absolutely delicious and I wish we were in town long enough to try them all. Stop here for sure and check them out!!

My husband and I came into Pittsburgh and the first thing we wanted was some perogies. We came straight here and they had just closed but let us in and were the absolute sweetest couple to us. The perogies were amazing and they were just as amazing people!

Great perogie shop and more! Just stopped in to pick up some perogies for Thanksgiving and decided to try one of their meals. All of the food was excellent, just like their perogies. The staff was so kind and funny! Made me feel like family!

Every time we are in Pittsburgh we have to make a stop here. Staff is absolutely lovely and the pierogies are to die for. Would recommend checking this place out.

Mind blowing pierogis, family style with family love

This place is not a restaurant but is a pierogi shop that will serve you hot, delicious pierogies. No kielbasa or sauerkraut but a huge variety of creative and fabulous pierogies. The owners are warm and welcoming. You will not regret stopping in. Our favorite was the “pepper butt”.

We tried a few things on the menu like cheeseburger, sausage, deserts, and the classic. It's all amazing

These perogies were almost as good as my Busha's. The staff was so friendly. Prices are great. They also offer frozen perogi to go and even gave us ice packs.

I dont have a picture because I ate it too fast. It was the best food and dining experience I have had in a long time. I wish I got her name but she genuinely treated you like you were eating at her house. She literally chased us at the door to make sure we were happy and thanked us for coming. Who does this???? We should be thanking her for loving her job and her patrons. We were just visiting for our vacation and I'm soooo glad my husband found this place but SHE made it better.

The couple that run Cop Out is awesome! They are some of the nicest most genuine people you will ever meet, and their food is just as awesome as they are. The pierogies are great when you take them home frozen, but eating them there just adds so much. The way they cook the pierogies in house is just perfect. The atmosphere definitely feels like you are eating in their home kitchen, and everyone makes you feel right at home. There isn't a ton of seating, but if you can get in and sit down you should not turn the opportunity down. If you come to Pittsburgh Cop Out absolutely has to be on your itinerary, if not you missed some of the best food ever!

First time having pierogies, and they were incredible! 1 order was huge! The owner and his (I’m assuming) family were incredibly nice! Highly recommend!

This husband and wife duo were such a pleasure to meet. The owner was accommodating, helpful and generous. The carnal salted and Berry were to die for. The Gyro was delish!!! Not only that, he packed my order for airplane travel so I could take some home to the fam!

The food here is beyond delicious!! I got the GF pierogis and my boyfriend got the buffalo chicken pierogis and we both loved them! We also got a cabbage roll and it was ENORMOUS! We both had leftovers if we lived in Pittsburgh we’d be there once and week!! The couple that runs it are also the nicest humans! They also turned us on to the black and yellow salt which was so good!! We got it shipped back to Boston! The pierogis were also not greasy at all very fluffy. Wonderful food and even lovelier people!

There are so many options of pierogi plus stuffed cabbage, haluski and dessert pierogies. We ordered three dozen pierogi so we could have leftovers. Beth, the owner’s spouse, recommended the Buffalo chicken, and those were great. We also got potato and cheese, and Mac & cheese. All were great, but my favorite item was a the cabbage rolls. Its a small shop, but we were able to get a table and the service was super friendly. I wish they had a pierogi flight to try more flavors!

Just like Mom used to make. Seriously, hands down the best pierogis I have ever bought. Even the gluten free pierogis are good!

Cop Out Pierogies is one of our all-time favorite restaurants here in Pittsburgh. The staff is incredibly helpful and the food is fantastic and well worth the low cost asked by the restaurant. We here at PghBR are vegetarian and vegan. Searching for these options in Doordash returns few results, sadly. One morning, we noticed Cop Out Pierogies show up and we immediately gave them a chance. Cop Out's beautifully craft hand made pierogies are large in size and you can order them stuffed with a wide array of flavors. It may be easy to order a lot when looking at their menu, but believe us- you'll have a LOT of leftovers. Absolutely delicious. Absolute edible bliss. The only thing stopping us from eating here on a weekly basis is that they seemingly disappeared from Doordash, which is a shame considering Cop Out Pierogies aren't very accessible since they are only open Wed, Thurs, Fri, and Sat 11am EST to 3pm EST. We love the food and we love the fact they they are dedicated to carrying on the tradition of pierogies here in the burgh!

This restaurant specializes in home-made Pierogi. Owners are very friendly. The number of choice in flavor is remarkable. I tried Buffalo Chicken, not spicy but decent. The only issue is that Pierogies are a bit too greasy. It seems that they are boiled first and then pan-fried. If I would be told this in advance, I would ask for boiling only. $15 for 14 jumbo pierogies, not bad.

I 100% love this place and am completely dedicated and feel like I'm cheating on them if I eat another pierogi. That being said I need to be real honest expect a few blow outs. They sometimes aren't sealed the tightest. But still, I have never had a better pierogi. So it's a small price to pay for near perfection.

So many options of pierogies!!!!! I wish I had the time and the stomach to try them all lol owner's are the nicest people- they really do treat you like you're family. I wish I wasn't so stuffed and I could have tried out some of their dessert pierogies! Definitely will stop back in on my next trip to Pittsburgh

We were in Pittsburgh visiting from South Florida. Definitely a must try. The Pierogies were AMAZING with A LOT of choices. Everyone there was so friendly and treated us like family. We will definitely be back!!

What a wonderful place for the epitome of comfort food! Took home Buffalo Chicken Dip and Potato Cheddar pierogis and will definitely be returning regularly. The size of the made-from- scratch pierogis are much bigger than their competition and much more flavorful.

Wow, I never thought I’d taste my late aunt’s pierogies, but I did today. I bought 2 dozen to take home, sauerkraut and lekvar (two of my Polish favorites). They came out perfect. The sauerkraut was great, can’t wait to try the others.

OUTSTANDING AUTHENTIC PIEROGI'S !! The Taste is Old World Traditional. When I was there I had to peak in the back to see if My Babci was making them. Beyond the Authentic taste, the Sargent and his Staff were sooo friendly, pleasant and helpful. Wonderful people. Going to Cop Out was like coming home. The Food and the People are the Real Deal ! This place is a hidden gem!! The staff are so friendly and kind. The food is amazing and so affordable. Stuffed cabbage, halushki, Ruben pierogis are our favorites but haven’t tried anything we didn’t love.

I tried these and did not care for them at all. To me they were flavorless.

Ordered a doz hot with onion to go with 3 pig in blanket-gosh those pigs tasted like Italian sausage with hardly any rice with sweet tom sauce. Didn't like them, The Doz of hot perogies...omg had burnt black something all through & the dough was like sawdust, if I had to guess they were not boiled and cooked on a burnt griddle. I bought a froze doz, they were ok. Will not be back, they need a real cook not some guy without a glue. Gave 2 since the froz were ok

I stopped in here on my way out of town. Let me tell you, the people there couldn't have been any kinder. People super happy to help, and super happy to be of service. It felt like I was walking into someone's home as a guest. It was great supporting a small business, and even better supporting a small business with great people involved. Got some Potato & Onion, as well as Shrimp & Grits & Bacon pierogies. They were excellent! The next time I come to Pittsburgh, I am damn positive that I am coming back here for pierogies. Excellent pierogi's with lots of filling options. They even handled my large order with ease! Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. One thing to note, all pierogi's come with onions on TOP of them, not on the side. Unless you ask, of course!

The service was exceptional. So many choices of flavors of perogies. Peach pulled pork was the favorite. The Ruben was great too.

Went here at the recommendation of someone else, really enjoy the options that they had and the quickness of the service. Staff was very attentive and fast to get you anything that you needed. It's nice that they have the options for you to take uncooked ones home so you can have more later if you want.

I’d like to start off by saying the staff and service was a cut above the rest. I’ve never felt more welcome in an establishment. I was extremely excited to try the potato and cheese pierogis, as I had just tried a different spot and was very happy. These pierogis were mildly seared and extremely bland. It seems that the basic pierogi is not the best choice from this establishment, or maybe I got a bad batch. I would recommend trying a unique flavor pierogi or maybe a different menu item. This place seems so highly rated and we’ll respected in the community that I feel like I missed out.

Best homemade pirogies I’ve ever had! They were soft in the inside, crispy on the outside and covered in caramelized onions! Delicious! Had to come back the next day to grab frozen batches to bring back home to NY for family and friends!

We were doing a tour of Pittsburgh's top 10 pierogi places and this was on the list. I ordered pick up through doordash but when I got there they had never got the order even though doordash said that the order was ready so be aware that there could be a communication breakdown with the doordash service here. The woman apologized and got our order ready quickly, she was very accommodating and friendly. I had the jalapeno cheese ones and they were good, the texture of the dough and everything was good, the fillng wasn't as flavorful as some of the other places on the list. I thought they were average pierogies, I would give them three stars. I gave this review for stars because of the accommodating service. a man came out who may have been the owner, checked with us to see how everything was, he told a table of people that were eating there that he was going to take a picture for their Facebook page, which he proceeded to do. I thought he should have asked their permission before doing that. Not everyone wants their picture posted publicly on the internet. We liked the pierogies at Dorothy 6 much better but I'm glad we stopped to try these.

Great friendly staff! We ate outside and the shade was perfect with the breeze! My husband is a pierogie fan from Indiana and took home quite a variety of frozen pierogies for our summer and fall dinners! We even had to stop at Walmart ahead of time to purchase a freezer bag to bring them home! He was so focused on the varieties he wanted that he forgot the sweet dessert pierogies for us! We'll have to head back for another trip! Husband loved the watermelon, tequila, habanero ones and my 10 yr. Daughter loved the pepperoni pizza variety! My son with multiple food allergies gobbled up the stuffed cabbage! It was the ideal meal for him! We even ended up with candy from Pollak's candies next door! Overall, so glad we made the trip to support locals!

Wonderful experience at this place. Pierogis were cooked perfectly. The owners interacting with the customers made for a welcoming atmosphere the Halupki was good and definitely a well kept secret we will be returning orderd and ate within 45 mins and we weren't rushed. Highly recommend and definitely worth the drive.

If you want to experience real Pgh, go here. We were waited on by the wife, husband and son. This is a simple family business. So many types of pierogis, mostly take out, but you can dine in if you aren’t a huge group. Everyone was friendly. The food is simple, and very homemade. Will return to try other flavors.

Stopped by last week with our dog and the owners were super friendly and accommodating. We ate outside and enjoyed fresh hot pierogis with onion. It was so good we got frozen pierogis to take home. I lived in Poland for a month and would say their pierogis could compete with the best ones I had in Poland, with the extra bonus of creative flavors! Our dog had a good time too--one of the owners gave him a nibble of sausage!

Good value as one portion comes with 14 pierogies. I had to ask for a box after finishing half. 10/10 would recommend.
