Hands down the best restaraunt in San Francisco, no exaggeration. If you haven't eaten here yet, you're missing something integral to your experience as a Bay Arean.

Put this little hole-in-the-wall gem on your list of places to eat in SF - you will not be disappointed. The one downside: It's very small, so at peak times the wait can be something to contend with if you're really hungry. I usually go when it's less crowded. The upside: The food and the staff. Your taste buds and your belly will thank you.

Went last night for the first time in a long time and things had changed. While the imperial rolls are some of the best in the city, my noodle salad with the 5 spice chicken was bland and flavorless. There were also a ton of small bones in the salad and big snotty pieces of fat and gristle. The vegetables in the salad were practically nonexistent. My new favorite spot for this kind of Vietnamese fare is Kim Son in the outer Richmond. WAY better chicken and their rolls are huge and flavorful. Bummed Katy has slipped at CB - used to love her spot. Place is also horribly filthy - maybe itās always been and now Iām just noticing it more.

I've been patronizing this place since its beginning. It has always been my "to go" place for Vietnamese comfort food. On this recent visit, I found the food rather disappointing. The sauce was watered down with very little meat. The taste was still there but rather weak. In the past visits, the chicken marinade went to the bone, was tender and so tasty. The time, the chicken was not well marinated nor did the meat fall off the bone. The beef was dried and not marinated well. The only thing that tasted the same was the egg roll.

The most charming neighborhood Vietnamese BBQ spot with an amazing grill master (Katie). I came with a friend and the place was packed, but it had the most amazing, authentic, old school San Francisco feel: it's just a small hole in the wall with counter only seating, but full of locals who line up for the imperial rolls, BBQ meats and skewers, and rice and noodle specials. (The pork chop over rice with salad and the imperial rolls were our favorite). The food is delicious and the servings are huge - so much bang for your buck! Cash only. If you're walking past and see seating available, come in and sit at the bar of this locally beloved neighborhood spot to be transported away to an alternate reality in which you're visiting the kitchen of your Vietnamese grandmother who low-key thinks you look skinny and mustn't be eating enough. Mounds of peppery meat sauce and crispy imperial rolls are cooked before your eyes and generously dispensed alongside mapu tofu (spicy fresh chili available upon request) and sage advice (no request necessary). This is hands down the best place to grab food for any meal in San Francisco!! If you're in the area this is a must-visit - I'm vegan so I always order their garlicky tofu and veggie rolls, and paired with their tea makes you feel immediately warm and joyful :) My favorite part about eating here is being able to see the food cooked right in front of me in the intimate space of the restaurant, as there is limited seating (in a good way) and you can fully experience your food from the start to finish! Katie, the woman who runs this place with the other ladies, is the sweetest human ever, and if even go to Cordon Bleu only because of her! From the environment to the variety of menu items and the high quality of the food, I'd highly recommend anyone who is close by to visit Cordon Bleu at least once! Overall: 5/5. If you're looking for authentic Vietnamese food with generous portions, this is the place. The space is smaller but cozy and endearing, and the staff will serve you warmly. Would come here again. Food: 5/5. We ordered the Spicy Pork Chop, Noodle Salad, Mapo Tofu, Chicken Salad, and Dragon Rolls. The chicken had an interesting smoky flavor and the mapo tofu was some of the best i've had. The Dragon Rolls are a must have - super crispy and stuffed with several kinds of meat. Value: 5/5. For just $14 per entree (as of Jan 2023), they give you an incredible amount of food. Every dish was made fresh. They don't skimp on protein, and unless you have a big appetite you'll probably be taking some food home. Vibes: 3/5. I have mixed feelings about this. The layout and decor is no frills and very practical. However, the genuineness is endearing; I did enjoy the cozier vibes, and I felt like I was having a home-cooked meal. Service: 4/5. Food came out in around 15 mins, which is very reasonable. While they didn't check in on the food / water during the meal, the space is small enough that they are always ready to listen to requests.

Wanted to try a hole in the wall, and this definitely fit the description. Most seating was at the counter with one table in the back. Had to awkwardly wait for people to finish before grabbing a seat. Food tasted good, especially the imperial roll. As someone else said, the meat sauce seemed out of place, but still was tasty. Food safety-wise, oof, the place left a lot to be desired. Noticed the same things that others mentioned - handing money and then food with no hand washing in between, reused wiping rag for the grillā¦

The tagline is that this may be the best chicken youāll have outside of Vietnam, and itās not a hyperbole. Came here with my friend for lunch on a Friday around noon and jabbed two seats. The restaurant is very small (it fits about about 10 people) and itās situated around the kitchen where you can watch the lady cook. Everyone seemed to have ordered the Number 5, and so thatās what we did. Itās a huge split so we split it between the two of us. The egg roll included was the best Iāve had in a while - it came piping hot and was so delectable. The five spice chicken and the shish kabob were well-seasoned and juicy. Was here with my girlfriend before we headed out of town. We both had the #5 and couldn't be more satisfied. Compared to any other Restaurant in town the price was fairly low but the food was amazing and the portion was huge. We are fairly slim people and usually don't eat that much but in this case not even a scrap remained. The chicken was pretty good but especially the Shish Kebab and the Imperial Roll were fantastic. The meat sauce came straight from heaven and the overall experience was incomparable. The two older asian ladies were super lovely and the entire atmosphere just oozes a "Dinner at Mom" feeling. If you want to eat a delicious, hearty meal for a reasonable price, look no further. I would go there every week if i lived in San Francisco. There were 2 "aunties" working the food preparation (soup, roll frying/cutting, grilling, shredding chicken) on the grill/stove/fry area which takes up a wall of the small space. I The counter space was occupied by locals (it seemed) who placed their orders without looking at the menu and remarking to each other how the fried imperial rolls (cha gio) are the best at this establishment.
