My all time favorite breakfast spot! With extremely friendly staff!

Service with a smile. Diner food without a doubt.

Classic diner with friendly and efficient service. Some inventive options, but I’ll be back for the classics (Okemo omelet with potatoes and a massive English muffin all the way!).

This place refused to serve us to go at all! We had to sit outside because we were traveling with our dog, also must not like dogs either with many signs, just a bad vibe all the way around.

We love going there and having some of their great good and wonderful service. When you go there you have to get the carrot cake because it is the best.

Kudos to ALL of the staff at the Country Girl Diner! We were there Saturday and boy were they swamped! Every booth and counter seat were occupied. The folks that had to wait (including us) were asked if they wanted a booth or would sit at the counter. We stated our choice and were given a device that buzzed. When a booth opened (after other parties who arrived after us were sat at the counter) we were buzzed and greeted by very friendly staff. The food was excellent and the staff (including those in the back) had to keep a VERY hectic pace in order to serve everyone. There was no moss growing on their stones! I would highly recommend them to anyone!! Maybe just arrive a bit earlier for breakfast as they start serving lunch at 11:30 and have to have time to serve the remaining breakfast orders and make the switch over to the lunch menu before 11:30 am.

Waited 45 minutes for breakfast with there buzzer device. To be told they were no longer serving breakfast, they also served another family that was not in front of us. Rude to do so, so we left.

Stopped in for lunch. The staff is very friendly, outgoing, just fun to be around. The food was excellent and the desserts looked delicious. We will definitely go back and save room for dessert.

Went there for lunch had cheeseburger and fries, and hubby had patty melt and fries. Very generous portions. Enough that we took home half for supper! The fries were the shoestring variety, but hand cut NOT frozen. Delicious! The meat on both sandwiches was 3/4 inch thick and cooked to perfection. The waitress was friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is an original 1950"s diner that was moved to the current location in the 1960"s. There are only 6 booths which seat a total of 12 people and 18 stools.

Small town dinner, older than me so leaks a little when rains besides that food was delicious and service (kelly) was great.

My family and I, from the suburbs of Philly, discovered Country Girl Diner while searching for a great breakfast spot. We fell in love with the area and its year-round activities like skiing, hiking, swimming, and relaxing, which led us to buy a house here. Now, we visit often, and this diner has become our go-to spot. I’m writing this review as I plan our next visit.

This place was a cool experience, food was good but bland. Toast was sent out burnt.

I stumbled across this beautiful, retro styled hidden gem of a diner on a road trip and boy am I glad I did. Super clean place, friendly people and phenomenal food. I just wish it was closer to me. I highly recommend stopping in if you're in the area !

Food was awesome, we had burgers. Everything is made in house including the pies that looked crazy good but we had to pass.

Keep driving. This place has gone downhill. It used to be a clean place to eat good food. Not any more. Rude waitress. Very inhospitable. The whole place needs a thorough cleaning.

A classic New England diner experience. The diner is small, the seating is tight, and the lines can be long; but this is still one of the best breakfast / lunch eateries in the area. Hours can be weird, especially for folks who don't live in the area. If you're in a wheelchair, you're not going to be able to eat here. There are stairs up to get in, with tight confines inside and I'm not sure about bathrooms. It's an old diner car from the 1940's, it is what it is.

Classic 1950's diner, great atmosphere. It's very small, six booths and a counter. The food was amazing, and the two ladies behind the counter were great. We both had the corned beef hash special. It's fresh made from a beef brisket, and fried to perfection, served with two eggs and toast. AMAZING!

Stepping into Country Girl Diner is like stepping back in time. The diner's decor, with itsretro booths, vintage memorabilia on the walls, creates a nostalgic yet inviting atmosphere. It's a place where you can easily lose track of time over a good meal and conversation. The staff are the heart and soul of the place. My server was attentive, friendly, and made excellent recommendations. It's clear they take pride in ensuring every guest feels welcome and satisfied.

What a great gem of a diner. I ordered the Tuna melt, which I almost didn't because I'm not a fan of marble rye bread, but this was the BEST rye I've ever had and the sandwich was delicious. Homemade Key Lime Pie slice? Yes, please! Servers are incredibly friendly. I'm so glad I stumbled in here on a whim!

Casual diner with great service and employees. The place is always busy so you may to wait a few minutes, but it is well worth it.

I am not one to typically leave reviews, especially if they’re not positive, but I feel like I need to say sometime about our experience with the hostess. We read the signage on the outside of the door, and it was our understanding we needed to get a buzzer to let us know when a table was available. When we went inside to clairfy, the hostess was incredibly unwelcoming and short with us stating “like the big sign said, wait outside”. This was uncomfortable, as we had done that already but thought we needed to get a buzzer. I thought maybe this was just an us mistake- no biggie. But after we were sat we saw at least 5-10 more tables making the same mistake. One two top even left with the women in tears because of the hostess’s rudeness. The food itself was good (props to kitchen staff), but the quality of service was altered because of this experience. I work in the foodservice industry, I understand how painful it is to have tables seat themselves or ignore signage. This is why I recommend actually getting a host table to set infront of the stairs- or even a stand with a more obvious sign. The laminated sheet is evidentially not very clear to most & should be altered to accommodate this. When the rules work for you but not your customers, you alter it to work for both! This would save the staff so much frustration as well from repeating themselves all the time!

Would be nice if it was listed that breakfast stopped at 11am.

We visited this diner on our drive back to the airport following a lovely week in Vermont over Christmas. The food was delicious and the service excellent. The setting - a genuine railway dining car - harked back to a nicer age. The demise of dining cars on railways is to be lamented. This place is to be celebrated.

The place was closed . We drove about 2 hours in each direction to meet there. By a river so I assume that the flood got them... but their website said they were open...

We have been craving a good ol’ diner breakfast. This was the most authentic diner experience you can get in the silly old new England. My partner got the burrito and I got a little breakfast sammy. If you’re into it DEFINITELY add that extra sausage patty. And of course, I got pink lemonade because sure, capitalism gets me with just one drop of food dye, sue me. Might I say, it was delightful! Definitely visit if you’re looking for some delicious food and lovely home-like service <3

AMAZING service, great food, perfect country diner atmosphere. VERY reasonable prices, but watch the sides. They are a bit pricey and can really add up quick. Highly recommended!

Small diner with great food. Simple lunch menu. Sandwiches, soups and burgers with a few specials. We both had burgers and fries. I had the patty melt which was perfectly cooked and shoestring fries were delicious. Hubs had Texas burger, piled high with onion rings. Too full for dessert but they did have 3 homemade pies- key lime, cherry cheesecake and peanut butter.

Service was amazing. Our waitress was top notch. There were three of us for breakfast, the food and prices were second to none. This will be a regular stop for us when in town.

IF YOU ARE A DISABLED PERSON WITH A SMALL SERVICE ANIMAL. DO NOT GO HERE. I went on Sunday with my husband and my 15 lb. Service dog. My service dog ( a mini poodle) was inside his own bag. We were told he had to stay on the floor under the table or bench if he was to be in their restaurant. I have seizures. My dog is now 14 . He is no longer houdini. He actually has sat on a seat in his bag beside me since he was 6 months old in every restaurant we have ever been in. We have traveled to every state in the USA with my dog, except 6. We look for diners to review. This is our first turn away. My dog hits my chin to tell me I need meds. Being under the table does not work. He wasn't a great dane. State laws do NOT say animal has to be under the table. I can see, not at the table. But lying on a bench or chair in their own bag. That is just wrong. To add to my review: I DO NOT travel with a fur baby. I travel with a working dog. Wether it be federal or state codes, it don't matter. This dog cannot work from under a table or bench. The laws are not all federal check Alabama for instance. There are federal and State for your information.

What a great diner!! This is the quintessential New England diner. I’ve been to alot of diners and this is the real deal! From the classic diner feel, to the staff to the food, it’s all 5-star diner food. If they have hash on the menu, GET IT! It’s the best I’ve had.

Country Girl Diner is great. We have eaten here several times and each time is an awesome experience. The food is always delicious. The service is always great. The location is nice. We highly recommend stopping by and enjoy. Did I mention the deserts are amazing.

Very small diner with a great ambiance. We went on a Saturday morning and sat at the bar. The waitress was great and took time to explain everything. Your typical diner menu. The cornbeef hash was amazing. Definitely will return when we are back in the area.

We arrived today and saw the giant "Stop, don't come in sign," plastered on the door. The door was also locked, which we thought was weird, but we understood that there wasn't standing room inside. Waitstaff saw us outside and gave us a buzzer to wait. We went to wait in our car, since it was pouring. We hadn't been waiting long (15 minutes or so), but we were very hungry and the online lunch menu (all that was available) didn't look too impressive, so we decided to leave. I left my vehicle to pass our buzzer to a family waiting and the waitress came out and rudely snatched it out of my hand and told me she'd give it to a customer that was actually waiting. I didn't say anything to her--just very snippy and rude. The building was cool, and the breakfast menu looked good, but I would say based on the cold treatment, it's worth a pass.

Very average food and awful service. Seems like this place has really let themselves go since there aren’t many options, but I’d still recommend anywhere else.

I had the Ruben sandwich with chips and my husband had the footlong hotdogs with fries. They were great. Our waitress Julie's was fantastic and boy does she shine with beautiful smile. Thanks for a wonderful experience. Your Mom was sweet.

This place was very nice and cute. Be sure to get there early as there's not to much seating and it's really popular. Pancakes are a must have.

Great food old diner experience

Stars are for when you get inside to eat. I was encouraged to quickly find out the length of the wait. Somehow, I missed the sign on the door to wait there outside, then got chased out like I was homeless and troublesome. Rudest waitress I have ever encountered. Didn't wait around to get "invited" in. Best of luck, and remember to stay out. Only negative post I've ever felt compelled to write.

Excellent breakfast but the bar stools are the most hard and uncomfortable things I’ve ever sat on. They need new sets.

The service alone deserves 5 stars. It’s always delicious. It’s never overly packed because they manage seating in a great way. You’re not going to have people staring at you waiting for you to finish eating lol. I go for Breakfast whenever I’m in the area.

Fantastic diner with amazing breakfast food and wonderful staff. The coffee is much better than that of the vast majority of other diners. If you stop by I recommend trying either the key lime or peanut butter pie, both of which are excellent. This place is a classic and very important for the Chester community. The Friday night live concerts in the Summer absolutely rock, so make sure to get those on your radar if you live in the area or will be around for a while in the Summer.

Perfect lunch spot. Very friendly staff. We walked in five minutes before closing, offered to get takeout, they encouraged us to sit and enjoy ourselves. Best desserts ever!

Waited in the rain to get a table once seated I was informed I had to sit at the counter which is very uncomfortable being a larger person. I was not asked I was informed I had no choice. will never return had been there previously food was ok eggs over cooked and They don't serve breakfast gravy of any kind.

We very much enjoyed eating at this diner. The food was excellent and the service was amazing! Our waitress was Kelly and she served us so well and showed interest in who we were and we felt very at home and welcomed. We would definitely eat here again!

Wow... The food was absolutely amazing! The sweet potato fries were crunchy and chewy at the same time, and the chicken wrap, while missing pickles, was so delicious! 2 thumbs way up!!

Nice little diner, but breakfast ends at 11:30. We just missed the window and had lunch. Their lunch isn't much to write home about, but their staff were really friendly. The carrot cake we had was actually pretty awesome, but my lunch was very bland. I had gotten the Western sandwich as I tried to have some resemblance of breakfast. It was very dry and served on white bread. Wish we had the opportunity to order breakfast :(
