I was really blown-away by this cafe! There is a really fun, comfortable and friendly vibrant vibe inside. The restrooms were clean, and the food was delicious! I'll definitely be returning any time I am in the Calais area! I only wish they were open more often. :)

Crumbs makes it easy to find vegetarian options in a restaurant. I used Crumbs' on-line ordering menu to order a panini. Sooo easy to use! The options to make it your own are amazing! I ordered a panini , white bread, avocado, tomato, roasted red pepper, cheddar cheese and horseradish mayo and it was fab! I also ordered the molasses ginger cookies and OMG - they taste like Nana made them! Crumbs is a darling downeast sandwich shop. I ate here for the first time today and and I will definitely go back. I highly recommend.

Cafe with some tables and great food. You order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. Not totally accessible but fine with a cane. The paninis were generous and we could have shared one. Staff were helpful. A bit tough to read menus on overhead board and a few printed copies would be helpful. Clean and pleasant. Will definitely go back.

The food here is excellent and there is plenty of it. Food is fresh and the desserts are homemade, fresh. Too bad the lady who was bringing out food, and servicing customers once you ordered was terrible. Asking for anything was an inconvenience, being new to the restaurant or the area was a nuisance (I could feel her rolling her eyes at me). We asked for a refill on the coffee and she gave us a dirty look and never showed up with the refill. That ruined the atmosphere for us too…..but even without her, the restaurant was cold, seating uncomfortable. I may go back again for the food but I would just know that the service would be lacking.

They have a great variety of baked goods, my favorites are the better than sex cake and their pumpkin roll! It is a great atmosphere to have a couple drinks with friends while grabbing dinner also! They make an awesome burrito bowl. Super friendly staff!

Fast friendly service with an amazing lunch menu variety. Solid find when you are in the area and absolutely delicious. Not often do I remark on the cleanliness of an operation but it was spotless down to the restrooms. 10/10 and a solid…I’d eat here again!!!!!!

We stopped in while running errands and had a great lunch. The serving sizes are huge and everything was delicious. I had a Cobb salad that I finished for lunch the next day. My husband had a roast beef panini that was outstanding. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming and upbeat. Seating was comfortable and everything was clean. I will definitely return!

I had the buffalo Mac and cheese. I was really looking forward to it and unfortunately, I don't think it was very good at all. It was very bland other than the buffalo sauce. Looked like plain noodles were put into a container and then some cheese was sprinkled over it and it was warmed through. There didn't appear to be or taste like there was a cheese sauce on the noodles. The shredded cheese was barely melted in some places, not at all melted in other spots. The chicken had no flavor other than if you got some with buffalo sauce on it. I love Mac and cheese and I was only able to pick about three bites out of this before I had to throw it away. Maybe other things are good, but it's not worth it to me to try after wasting the money on the Mac and cheese.

Best place in Calais for food. It's a welcome island in an otherwise mediocre (at best) town.

A gem on Main Street. Great food, great coffee. Everyone was friendly and the atmosphere was friendly and inviting. The Pastry’s were amazing.

Space looks newly renovated, food was great. The owners son took our order and was very nice. Be careful about their hours, they are closed Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays. We rearranged our driving plans so we’d pass through Calais on a Friday and be able to eat here and we’re glad we did!

Being new to this remote town after a month, I came across this gem of a café. I have passed by it a few times and they were closed. I wish they would keep regular hours. I’d almost given up on eating out until I found this little cute café with such good food and fresh and large meals. This is my new go to spot now for anything, it’s clean and fresh. The owner or managers take pride when they’re picking out their vegetables for any toppings. I had the most amazing Cobb salad with shredded delicious chicken and a giant turkey avocado Panini. This was going to serve at least three or four people. It’s definitely enough for 21 serving is. And let’s not forget their really delicious little desserts and fresh coffee.

A beautiful cafe, gorgeous lighting complete with original brick wall and copper ceiling (remnants of the past)! A marvel to behold! The service is excellent! Professional, kind warm and welcoming. I was gonna take away but ended up staying because the staff is great, the place is lovely and the homemade soft serve was the best soft serve I have ever had! It was orange pineapple flavor and it blew my mind! So so good! Loved being here 💜🍦

A wonderful place to eat. There are lots of choices, super nice staff, and very good prices on everything. The horseradish steak sandwich was amazing, but there is much more on the menu to try. We could not make it to desert, but they looked delicious! Stip in next time you are up in Calais. You will be happy you did.

Very nice bakery-café. A nice assortment of sandwiches, which are huge. They also had a skillet type breakfast, which I wish we had known about because they looked very good. They made a nice latte. We got a slice of lemon cake to go. The cake was just okay and not worth the calories.

The food is fresh and there are a lot of choices: paninis, burritos, salads, sandwiches, pastries and local beers on tap. Overall they do a good job and it is a cheery atmosphere, across from the Calais town green. I can't say that I am particularly excited about anything I have had the several times I have been there, but neither have I had a bad experience. They display local artwork on the walls, sometimes by kids from the Calais schools. A good place for locals and tourists alike.

I had the chicken bacon ranch salad tonight and it was so delicious, I ate half of it without dressing because I couldn't even wait to get home. You guys never disappoint with your yummy, fresh food and lovely staff. Thank you for being so amazing at what you do.

This place is the best to have lunch, you get what you pay for!! But do yourself a favor and do not come here to have a nice breakfast. The breakfast food is literally about 130% over priced and the taste is average, nothing exceptional compared for what you are paying for, I rather eat two boiled eggs at home.

Great Food including whole pies, bread, buns and cakes to go. I had the Roast Beef and Horseradish Panini with Egg Nog Latte. It was great. I took home an Apple pie.

Delicous foods and deserts, and a very large and extensive menu! Amazing.

Halfway between classic and fast food breakfast. You can get everything to go or eat in. I had ham and cheese egg breakfast sandwich. You can choose the bread (croissant, bagel, English muffin) and it comes with your choice of has browns (think tater tot’s flattened) or a muffin. You can also choose the type of cheese. A twelve ounce latte came with only one shot, but a sixteen oz included two. Just order an extra shot. We ate in and got nice ceramic mugs for our coffee. However the flatware was plastic. The food came on small baking trays (toaster oven size). The breakfast sandwich was excellent and the coffee an enjoyable pleasure!

Thank you for a great start into the day. Nice café with very good coffee and very friendly service. A lot of well configured sandwiches, muffins, ... that are really tasty and served in real ceramic mugs and on reusable dishes leaves a European guy with good feelings.

Always a favorite! Tomato pesto grilled cheese, tomato basil soup, and better than sex cake are all terrific. Lasagna soup is also good as is the chocolate peanut butter cake.

It was great to find a delicious vegan option (hold the cheese and sour cream) in the Veggie Burrito at Crumbs, that could be made gluten free without a tortilla!

Some eclectic sandwiches (grilled strawberries and Swiss cheese) and a great selection of desserts. Fast friendly service. Clean establishment.

Food is extremely good and fairly priced, unfortunately, that’s if you can get there while they’re open. They tend to open and close whenever they please and may even close for an entire day just for the hell of it.

What an AWESOME little coffee shop. The service was top notch - the barrista even stepped it up with some great modifications for our drinks. Both of our coffee drinks were wonderful. I highly recommend popping in for a delicious piece of cake and a yummy coffee.

I rarely give 5 stars - this means more than great food, it's a great value that exceeds expectations. We ordered the burrito bowl, greek salad and a cappuccino. Everything was fresh and flavorful. Good presentation, good wifi, even had usb chargers by our table! We would definitely return.

The best place in town for soups, sandwiches and meals

I ordered a cheese burger with onion rings on the burger. The only bad this is is that I should have ordered 2 burgers lol. Food was fantastic and I can't wait to go back. I would recommend Crumbs Cafe & coffee to anyone and there grandmother's. Yummy yummy in my tummy😋😋😋

The size and quality of the paninis we got were awesome!! So yummy and were made perfectly. We also got dessert and it was also delicious. Service was friendly and great as well! Staff wearing masks, very clean and a few outdoor tables to eat at too. Highly recommended!!

Crumbs catered my wedding recently. They did an amazing job, everyone raved about the food, and there was more than enough food. We also were given many options as far as Buffett versus served and they were very willing to do what worked best for us. It was awesome. I would for sure recommend them to anyone!

This place is a little unexpected gem. We hadn’t planned on being in Calais but found ourselves there and needing lunch. We both ordered paninis. I got Roast beef and horseradish and the hubby got pastrami deluxe. Everything was a good quality, prepared well and in the ratio of ingredients in relation to each other, while not always considered, but to my mind is crucial, was perfection. I highly recommend Crumbs and cannot wait to go back. Best sandwich I’ve had in some time.

This is a very pleasant coffee shop in downtown Calais. The latte was delicious and large served in a nice mug. We sat in two soft rotating chairs looking over the side walk and relaxed.

They have the best paninis! Better value and flavor than Subway!

We were happy to find Crumbs on Main Street in Calais after a bit of exploring. Since I had eaten great seafood and fish for days in Maine, I would be forgiven for having a huge roast beef sandwich for lunch! My husband went for his usual BLT and loved it. (Take out, of course.) We also stocked up on delish pieces of homemade pie to take back to Eastport for the rest of the week. Served by very nice owner/baker? Wishing you good eats if you are in Calais.

If you live in the Downeast area and need an event catered I would strongly recommend Crumbs. I am in New York state and needed catering for a event in the Calais area. I was reluctant as I was afraid of platteres of finger rolls with tuna salad ,egg salad etc.I wanted a bit more upscale.I reached out to the Crumbs gentleman and "Wow". Their food was not only delightful to look at but everything was soooo delicious.

My wife and I stopped in to what is one of her favorite places in Calais, ME. My turkey and cheese panini was outstanding -- and very generous. She had a great Greek salad. Unfortunately, there is no indoor dining due to COVID-19, so one has to take the food to the few tables set up on the sidewalk. Not a problem for the nice day we were there; but, definitely limiting in inclement weather. Right now they are running with a razor thin staff. BUt, still turning out great food

A great cafe with a nice variety of lunch options and generous portions. They have sandwiches, ramen bowls, hot meals, and more. They also offer a full coffee bar using Maine coffee, and Boylan fountain soda. They have bottled drinks as well. Nice assortment of desert and baked goods, including bread.

My daughter and I had the french onion soup and shared a corn beef panini. The sandwich was very large. My daughter was disappointed that the meat was so thick that it didn't get warmed up. I didn't mind. The flavor was good. However, the soup was in the smallest vessel they could have found. It was okay. My husband enjoyed his ham panini. We brought home a large slice of chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting and a piece of Coconut cream pie. Both were very good. I thought the prices were a little high.

On a trip to Calais we ate at Crumbs. The soups we had, tomato bisque and squash. One had the southwest chicken salad, spicy grill cheese, and I had the roasted red pepper hummus avocado panini. Excellent.

Excellent food, just like homemade! They ran out of rolls for our take home meal but offered us a fresh baked loaf of their finest bread as a replacement. Their $20 for 4 people take home meals are the best! Twenty bucks to feed a...

This is excellent and right on your way to the Canadian border! The sandwiches are generously sized and well made. The coffee is great and all the baked good look too good to pass up. Keep this place in business, go early and often.

The best place for coffee and lunch! Very quick and considerate service, great food, large portions, and cafe style atmosphere! We will be making it a habit to come back! Lattes are a good size and taste great, the hot chocolate is perfectly chocolatey, the cream of zuchini and the broccoli and cheddar soups were melt in your mouth good, and the sandwiches are customizable with great options! And the desserts... Yum!!!
