A great neighborhood spot with lovely staff, tasty food, a light-filled space—and amazing horchata lattes!

Nice little hidden gem. We discovered Cultura cafe on our morning walk and love the humble setup. Claudia is very friendly and she made our horchata latte not too sweet with just the right temperature. We tried the chicken Tinga empanada that was delicious; and good as any other similar restaurants in the area for a cheaper price. We will come again to try the crepes!

Cute and quaint little coffee shop with a comfy lounge area to do some work. The horchata chai is fantastic and don't skip the guava and cheese empanada.

Stopped into this gem after a site visit for work and I couldn’t be any more obsessed! The staff (and possibly the owner?? Sorry I forgot to ask!) is the nicest lady you’ll ever meet and she also provided recommendations for me to try the most amazing beef and potato empanada—which was *outstanding* I love places like this and I wish all the success in the world to this cafe. I will be back!

Happen to be in the area and I was shocked to see a 5 star rated cafe so I was curious and it certainly lived up to the hype. I recommend you at least come visit this tranquil cafe.

An adorable hidden gem. A family run, friendly, and upbeat cafe with none of the pretentious trappings so common with other places. The food is always remarkable and the beverages are well crafted. Try the crepes, acai bowl, or the homemade Guatemalan empanadas. The Biscoff latte is out of this world...well everything is here, especially the mother/daughter team running this special spot. This place is run with a passion and it shows.

Oat milk horchata latte, half decaffeinated/caffeinated. (Dairy free) So f’ing good.

I want to gatekeep this place but it’s too good to not share. Great coffee and empanadas, super kind owners, and nice to place to work from. No notes. Their guava and cheese empanada is 10/10.

So happy to have found this gem! Wow the horchata latte is perfection. I’ve never had another latte that came so perfect and I normally don’t like my lattes sweetened. Also ordered the empanadas and was also so impressed! Chicken tinga and mushroom were my favorites but they were all good. I also got the açaí bowl and the fruit in it was so fresh. I’m so impressed with how high quality the drinks and food are here!

I’ve been on a long search for the best horchata in Chicago. I think I may have found a new front-runner, and they’re essentially in my back yard. It may not be traditional and by the books, but wow is it delicious. I also tried a savory empanada and the flakiness was next level. I was recommended the Chicken Tinga, and that was the perfect choice. Last but not least is the fantastic and incredibly friendly service. The associate took the time to introduce herself and the cafe. This is a very welcoming spot and I’ll definitely be returning soon. (Just had to mention how awesome the horchata is one more time. 1000% recommended.)

I brought my daughter here to get an açaí bowl. The place was cute, relaxing, clean and the staff was incredibly friendly. I ordered two bowls. They were so delicious that I ordered two more to go. Highly recommend this hidden gem!

so so so good. The drinks are amazing and the food is great. I love the matcha and the gluten free breakfast burrito (not celiac friendly but that's fine for me personally and has never made me sick)

I almost want to give them 1 star only to keep people away. This place is beyond delicious. Their Nutella and biscoff coffee are yummy. And the empandads are delicious, especially the guava and cheese.

Amazing stuff, and the food is completely on point. I wasn’t able to take a photo of the second empanada, but I promise I bought two. It disappeared before I could take a picture :-) Bocadillo colombiano!

The coffee, especially the horchata latte is incredible. The empanadas were perfectly cooked and nice flakey outside that melts in your mouth. The staff was so friendly and walked us through the entire menu and made everything run so smoothly. Will come again. Try the gauva and cheese empanadas!

I'm new to the neighborhood and new to Chicago in general. I've been to this cafe at least 3 times already, trying a different drink each time. They serve frappes here unlike other cafes in Avondale. Every visit was great and Jocelyn has always been an amazing and friendly host. Highly recommended!

Was looking for a place with good iced coffee since I haven't bought from the nearby Dunkin in a while. They offered me their iced horchata latte and it's delicious!

This place is amazing!! The woman at the counter was so kind and engaging, she really made me feel welcome there :) The space is so cute and comfortable too!! And of course the food and drinks are amazing. I work in the area and will become a regular here!

We went here today to study with our group and the owner and daughter were so warm and personable! The ice coffee and empanadas were delicious! Well priced as well always nice to find a great gem that's locally owned! We are coming back for sure !

This is such a cute spot, the owner was VERY sweet. The Nutella Latte and the Nutella crepes were sooooo good! I recommend this place to anyone looking to support a local business owner and have some good food and drinks.

I had a Biscoff Latte from Cultura Cafe and it was phenomenal! The crepe was also delicious. The owner is very sweet and the service is wonderful.

The most beautiful people, FOOD, and service here!! The Empanadas were hands down the very best I’ve had! Chicken Tinga would be my number one choice!! The ground beef and potato was also very tasty! 10/10 all around. The overall ambience has a very positive, peaceful vibe!! Will definitely return! Joseline and Claudia were so sweet. This experience was definitely one to remember for myself and my Kid.

If I could inject the horchata latte straight into my veins I would but that would defeat the purpose since I wouldn’t be able to taste it. Nutella latte was delicious as well. Overall great experience and friendly atmosphere!

Stopped in here for the first time and was wowed with the best horchata latte I've ever had. The owner was so nice, and you could tell how much thought went into the space. Breakfast Burritos were labeled with protein amounts, there were cute little trinkets, and there's even printing available! Seems like the perfect cafe for working from home if you're looking for a quiet spot. Can't wait to try the crepes and empanadas the next time I swing by.

There passion fruit smooths is out of this world.. made with real fruit it tastes amazing. My daughter got the Carmel frapp was really smooth and rich Carmel flavor.

Fantastic place across the board. The best Empanadas I've ever had. Probably the best panini, too! And since I've never had a Biscoff Latté or Nutella Latté before, it's definitely the best of those, too!

This neighborhood spot is delightful. I have been meaning to come since they opened, and well, you know how that goes. Finally got here and was delighted by the warm welcome from one of the owners. Great quiet place to work for the day. I don't love super sweet lattes but splurged on the Biscoff Latte and it was so yummy. Great variety of food, affordable pricing. Will be coming back more often.

This was without a doubt the warmest and most inviting coffee oasis on a cold day. Brightly lit, well decorated and welcoming. There's an authentic family atmosphere here that simply couldn't be faked. Staff are delightful and smiling genuinely, they greet you as soon as you enter the door. This is a dandy and cozy cafe! With generous and comfortable seating with wifi available. The music is lively and quite pleasant. The food here is delicious and the coffee is flavorful. Try an empanada, it's their specialty! There is also a kindness here that I find hard to describe. You'll know it when you come in, these folks are hard working and exude the fact that they're good people. Darlings, stop in when you get the chance. You wont regret it! Continued Thoughts: The Cafe of Dreams: Cultura CCafe When Claudia started her coffee shop with her business partner a year and a half ago it was because she dreamed of having a restaurant. She did it because she wanted a place of her own to show what she’s good at, and in this case that’s food and hospitality. Claudia has motherly care in her, which comes naturally from raising her daughters, and that’s what she wants you to feel when you come in. She wants you to feel like you are coming into her kitchen. That’s the authentic truth from Joclyn, the older sister who came in to help with the business about a month ago. Her younger sister Stephanie helps out too: “It’s a true family business, and we all bring our own flair to it.” Watching this family work says much and more about who they are. They communicate well, they’re always improving and trying new things, and they bring an authentic atmosphere to the cafe. Joclyn tells me that her mother felt like she couldn’t start this business because of her immigrant status and yet, a year and a half later the business is standing strong. Their story tells us about the meaning behind the word family, and what one family can do together. Three more things: this cafe is dog friendly (in that your dog may come into the cafe with you to order but not stay with you in the cafe). Cultura CCafe offers: lattes, frapes, smoothies, coffee, choco latte, and biscoff lattes. They are known for their empanadas (trust me I’ve had a few, they are divine! and they want to offer veggie options soon), paninis, nutella crepes and waffles too. Cultura CCafe offers pick up on DoorDash and will eventually have mobile ordering (down the line). Do stop in dears, you won’t regret it.

I love this place . I recently moved to Avondale and discovered this gem. I'm definitely lucky to have this place right across the street.

Very nice atmosphere for working. They have good seating, outlets, and wifi. The staff is very nice and welcoming. I had a chicken tinga empanada (i intended to take a picture before I started eating it but it smelled so good I forgot to lol) and an horchata latte. Good prices and delicious food. The empanadas are a good size with a variety of flavors to choose from. All of it was delicious. Definitely recommend and will definitely come back!

I absolutely love this place!! My coffee was amazing. I got a mushroom and cheese empanada, and it was so delicious. The crust was light and flaky, yet substantial. The filling was warm and melty and perfectly flavorful. Also, the staff is just amazing. Warm, friendly, and patient. I am so looking forward to coming back! And I'm getting a bunch if empanadas to go. Edit to add: If you prefer to not have a disposable cup for dining in, just ask and they will give you a ceramic one!

The service was absolutamente excelente! Un restaurante fantastico! I visited to try out one of their frappes! However, I wanted to dive in more onto their menus, so I got the waffle specialty. The representation and astonishing taste was amazing. I'm glad I visited there. The women there som muy amables y cariñosas (caring and friendly). I will be back for next time I'm near over there 😋

I love this local cafe. The owner/employees are always very attentive and kind. Great spot to catch up with someone, go on a first date, or get a lot of work done. It's near transit, Parking is very doable, free and available as well.

We had a wonderful breakfast here. My daughter had a crepe and I had a panini. Husband had an empanada. Everything was great and tasted fresh. Will definitely come back.

Honestly, never had such a positive reaction from just a first sip. Partner and I tried the chai latte and horchata latte - my God both were SO GOOD and yummy. Atmosphere was cozy and relaxed! Wished I had more time to spend it on the big comfy yellow couch. Will be back and highly recommend this place to others! :)

Such a cozy cafe and so full of warmth! We had the horchata latte (I don’t usually like sweet coffee drinks but it was delicious), banana Nutella crepes, and an empanada. Everything was so yummy! Definitely going to return for coffee and empanadas on the daily ❤️

Love this place! All my friends have been sharing and recommending this place and I finally got a chance to come and let me tell you... it's amazing! Friendly service, woman-owned, and the food and drinks are really good. I had an horchata latte cold and 2 tamales and my husband had the chicken empanadas and they were 👌. Big portions and great value for what you pay for and WAYYY better than Starbucks. They also have gluten free waffles and crepes and if you're lucky you might also get your hands on some Mexican Tamales. 🤤

Amazing new women and family-owned coffee shop! The empanadas are really big and super tasty - I recommend the Tinga, Guava and Cheese, and Beef with Potatoes! And if you have a sweet tooth like me, they also have tons of sweet options like delicious crepes and waffles with any toppings of your choosing. Great, relaxing environment, free wi-fi, affordable prices, and amazing customer service. I highly recommend if you are by the Avondale area to stop by and see for yourself, you won’t regret it!!
