No chocolate ice cream, only vanilla. Bathroom is outside & creepy.

I don't know what is going on at this Dairy Queen but my husband went for a Blizzard and came home over a half hour later empty handed. They are 1/2 mile away! He waited at the order speaker for 20 minutes and no one asked for his order. He moved up to the window to see what the problem was and waited another 10 minutes while they just stared at him. Thoroughly ticked off, he left. The car in back of him was still waiting to have his order taken. Glad I don't eat their ice cream or I would be even more irritated. LOL

We've come here multiple times over the years because our family is a big fan of Dairy Queen food however we have become more and more dissatisfied with the employees work ethic in the last year or so. Seems that management is not expecting quality work from their employees so everyone gets away with being incredibly lazy. Came in tonight for two shakes, they were not busy and 90% of their staff was sitting around, screwing around on their phones, talking about their personal lives. 1 person was actively working but it wasn't on the items we had ordered. I have experience in the food service industry so I understand that if there isn't much to do then there isn't much to do. However several of the tables were dirty, the floors were dirty, items could've been restocked and the fact that no one else was at the restaurant when we first ordered, our shakes should have been done in much less time than it actually took. While we were standing there, cars did pull up in the drive through and we sat and watched the service timers. I don't know what the cars had ordered but once again, we saw only two girls actually putting in effort to get orders completed. The 3 guys cooking the food in the back were incredibly lazy and moving very slow to complete orders. We have less and less desire to support this restaurant. There are several other places in town that support more locals and work 10xs harder than the folks that this restaurant continues to employ.

Everytime I visit this location, I’m waiting between 45 minutes-1hr just for my order to be taken in the drive thru. It is clear that this location is severely under staffed and I cannot imagine how staff feels under the pressure of such a long line. Tonight, there were only 2 employees working the entire restaurant. It’s absolutely not their fault. However, it is frustrating. I often find myself avoiding going here or finding something else, because I don’t have time to sit in the line for over an hour. The Dallas location is never like this, we are in and out in a timely manner. It’s quicker for us to drive out there, get our ice cream and drive home in less than an hour. Every-time I come here, I have to be understanding that they are ALWAYS understaffed and this truly isn’t a “fast” food experience.

Not the quality we expect from Dairy Queen. The soft serve was not the creamy delicious flavor we anticipated. The consistency was grainy, there was no chocolate available, the price was higher and the cone was stale.

Up to the normal dairy Queen standards! I like that they stay open a bit later than some of The other dairy Queen's in the area

I'm going from 5 stars to 2 stars. Our DQ is under new management. Since then the prices have gone up and the quality has gone down. We've ordered food several times since the new management took over and every time we're left disappointed.

Ate inside with 4 adults & 2 little kids. Fries didn't seem fresh. Great food and desert choices! Old fashioned hamburgers-love em, and shakes, among other items! (I often have the chicken strips basket, which I love!) Most service attention given to drive-thru. Inappropriate music playing...nerve wracking & we had children with us. This DQ needs more comfort & enjoyment for all customers. All things considered, I'd come back for the food any day, any time! Fair prices for the quality & choices of food.

I’d say 1 in 3 trips, this Dairy Queen is out of ice cream. Have never run into this at another DQ, let alone multiple times.

The ice cream is poor quality at this location. Instead of the rich creamy soft serve DQ has always had, they are using a local mixture that is some kind of cheap ice milk. Yellow in color, not creamy, very disappointing, icy, melts into watery milk as soon as it hits your mouth. I asked the manager about it, and she said that they have been using this type of ice cream for years. I doubt this is allowed by the franchise rules. Instead of the trademark creamy rich soft serve DQ is famous for they are misrepresenting the brand with cheap ice milk like the junk you would get at a cheap Chinese buffet. Very sad... I will be going to a different DQ from now on. The owners of this franchise have gone to the dark side. The owners are probably saving money on ice cream costs, but losing lots of business. People will not tolerate such cheap milky stuff, when they are hoping for DQ's signature creamy goodness!

This review is specific to the ice cream. The employees have been great so I apologize for not leaving a more representative review. The ice cream at this location has been off since the summer. I have not visited this location in months due to the change in quality. I went in on Free Cone Day to see if the ice cream was finally fixed — nope. Still trash. The ice cream is yellow, icy, and generally not of the quality one expects from Dairy Queen. I have spoken with employees who admitted the machine(s) were broken. They said that they have requested repairs but nothing has been done. I think this issue started sometime around August 2023. Disappointing that the owner has not addressed their subpar product. But at least it was on Free Cone Day.

I used to enjoy stopping in for an ice cream cone on a regular basis…the last 2 visits (1 just a week ago) have been disappointing…I ordered a medium vanilla cone and I got a frozen cone…not fresh ice cream! It was nothing but ice crystals and flavorless. If I had not been driving away, I would have taken it back for a refund. There was no mention that the cones are now frozen ahead of time. So disappointing for a $4.00 + ice cream cone. Not again!

We waited in the drive-through for a good 45 minutes. There were only 6 cars ahead of us when we got there. I could tell the staff was working hard.

A few years ago I used to come here all the time to get the chicken strip basket despite there being another dq closer to me. This one is a bit more expensive and out of the way but I came here because the food was great every time. I live near this one now but I do not come here often. Mostly because the food is hit or miss. The chicken strips and toast are almost always satisfactory, but the fries are usually pretty bad. Which is pretty disapointing because in my opinion, dq used to have the best fries at least when it came to the big fast food companies. Now it seems there is always something wrong with them and it seems to be a different problem every time. I get dairy products less often, but I have never gotten a bad ice cream cone or blizzard from this place. So if that is all you are coming for than you should enjoy this place.

The service here is BAD! I really don’t recommend anyone in town to go to Monmouth DQ take your business to Dallas if you’re gonna go at all. The attitudes of the employees is BAD! They seem to always forget parts of my food. I have tired to call them but there phone seems to be disconnected so not sure what’s going on there? That has been that way for a while so not sure if someone is not paying the bill or what. I tried to confront them about missing food they offered to do nothing about it. The manager got rude and told me that they don’t just give away food and I told them that is not the case. Not to be rude but you can tell that I’m not a person asking for free food. Plus the food here is only subpar the fry’s are soggy and just it’s not good. I don’t recommend going to Monmouth. I work in retail and customer service and I’m sorry but this is in no way how you treat you customer. All I can say is from now on I will no longer be going to DQ in Monmouth this place is a mess.

One and only time I've been there I was lost lol over all everything is good on the food

Sadly only 2 people were working on game day and it took so long we left without our food, didn't want a refund but over 20mins for a chilidog. Crazy.

Missing food and fries were really cold. Bummer after a long days work.

Buy 2 cheese burgers plain, toss the buns, burgers are tasty by themselves! (Low carb move) Most importantly, i can get a Low sugar dillybar that is awsome. About the only place you can get low sugar dessert (and it's ice cream!) However, only 1 out of 4 Dairy Queens have this choice??? They should let folks know what they have !

Really the best burgers in town as far as fast food is concerned. I don't know if they get their meat meat locally but it seems to be a higher grade of meat than the rest of the fast-food very good the only negative thing I would say is that they're insanely slow but fresh if you have a good 15 to 30 minutes for fast food it is the superior choice

I went to Dairy Queen for chocolate ice cream & was told they don’t serve chocolate ice cream. What?? It’s “Dairy” Queen & they don’t have chocolate ice cream? Isn’t DQ know as an ice cream restaurant as well as burgers?? Very bizarre that chocolate ice cream is no longer an option 👎

I cant understand why the people they employ want a higher pay when they cant get the simplest of orders right. All i asked for was a cheeseburger meal and another cheeseburger on the side and i didn’t even get my other burger. Im not gonna bother going back because they will probably just mess that up too. This happens literally every time i go to this dump I'm not going back again it’s ridiculous.

Worst experience, young staff seemed to not care. Will not be coming back, glazed chicken strips were soaked in bbq sauce, girl at the window didn't give me a lid to my dripping blizzard, after going inside to get forgotten sauces saw cook touched his face with gloved hands and from when I was there did not appear to act as if he was even gonna change them.

They continuously close 20 minutes early. It’s irritating when it says open until 10:30 or 11 and you get there 20 minutes until closing and everything is dark and no one is there.

Didn't get our drink we paid for and my shake cup was sticky and ice cream on the outside of cup. A mess. Not friendly either. Kind of disappointing

We always swing by here when going through Monmouth. Had multiple meals for the family. Chicken strips were good and burgers didn't disappoint. Definitely recommend this Dairy Queen.

Covid friendly, clean and friendly and service superb. Me and my friend each had a banana split,made just right and we enjoyed it on the outside tables. A beautiful day!

Normal DQ food - meaning really good.

Food was hot, fast and their bathroom were sparkling clean. In fact I might even say about the cleanest bathroom I've ever been in, in a public space.

I love that DQ drive through is staying open late these days. But since they only offer drive thru service during the pandemic, sometimes the drive thru line is a lil crazy n confusing... But still those yummy treats at the drive thru window definitely makes all the frustration about waiting melt away with each bite of ice cream ;)

I shouldn't rate this place since I have 2 nieces who work here. I had a fish sandwich and it was very good. The coffee drive up across the street was nonstop busy. Maybe DQ should steel some of that with more coffee concoctions. I know the McDonalds has a really good plain coffee and special ones too. Seems like everyone is caffeine addicted.

I get their chocolate dipped cones, because they have the best cones that I have ever tasted. They should market them for the public....they really are the best!!! The rest of the cone is obviously really goo as well, but those cones are so so good!

Love my vanilla cones from here. I go a couple times a month. They have fast convenient drive thru, good customer service. My family loves the blizzards. My daughter loves the chicken strips.

Great place for frozen treats! You could probably find a lot better places for hot food though.

Good service, but overall slow. They have mobile apps, the Dairy queen app and Uber Eats, both of which offer mobile ordering as a way to order your food ahead and pick it up so you dont have to wait in line. But I have been told that you must still wait in line when placing mobile orders, this defeats the purpose of the apps. Why order ahead when I could just order at the speaker and my food would be fresher? Might as well not have the apps if store isnt willing to put in the effort to make them work.

Drive thru only, 10/25/20. We normally would go inside to place a large order (6 people, 2 families, 3 orders each.) We were the slow vehicle holding up the line. At the pickup window, they put all the food for both families into 1 large bag and 2 drink carriers. We pulled out of the DQ, started driving and noticed that we were missing one drink. We had to turn around and drive back. Not happy. The food was good , the ice cream was was good. The window service was lacking.

Food is always fresh and surprisingly fast even when the drive thru is overflowing. This is the best DQ in the Salem area and it is probably worth driving past your nearest DQ and heading straight to the Monmouth location. Especially if you are getting the chicken strip basket.

Had a little bit of a line but overall pretty good. Got the cotton candy blizzard and it was great.

Reasonably fast, always consistent with entree and desserts, fries are a hit or miss on the day. 💕

They always get it right here! Either it's perfect the first time or they fix it just like it should be. Grace under pressure, they do an awesome job even on the craziest days.
