Amazing experience! I'm a big fan of tea like this. I don't live in the SF area so this was my first time here. This is an independent tea house, not a tea in a luxury hotel like I was used to. The quality of the tea and snacks was comparable with the big fancy hotel I usually go to in my area, but at a fraction of the price. There was a huge selection of teas and they give you a lot. The tower in this pic is for 4 people and it was plenty, we even had leftovers. The pots are one per person. It was street parking only and in an area with a sports stadium so keep in mind when making a reservation the area could be crowded due to a game. We did find parking a few blocks away.

The atmosphere was charming, and every bite of the food was exquisite. The menu was carefully balanced; each item had a flavorful twist to it.

Best afternoon tea I’ve had in SF. A proper afternoon tea! And our luck today on the menu, they had a fusion scone which was the chef’s take on sticky rice mango dessert and it was to die for! Can’t recommend this place enough.

I have traveled the world and had afternoon tea services everywhere. The food that comes out of this tea shop is some of the best in the world. Please come with an empty stomach as you'll want to eat everything twice.

Visited 4/28 before a Giants game. This place made the whole street corner smell good as we waited for the doors to open. Their reservation process sounds more complicated than it was. Once I filled out the form on their website, the rest was done via text and my reservation was confirmed within minutes. Service was awesome! It's a prix fixe menu so you just need to tell them the tea that you'd like. I opted to pay an extra $5.25 to have their memories of Saigon blooming tea. It comes in a glass tea pot and opens as it sits in the water. Tea was good but the blooming part (really slow bloom) sounded cooler than it actually was so I'll stick to one of the cheaper teas next time. Warm scones and cream were my favorite part! They don't have a parking lot but metered street parking on Stillman St was super easy to find. It's limited to an hour though. Our tea time visit was an hour and 15 min.

The food was really good, even when they were kind of simple sandwiches, they tasted really good. The only complain is the wait time. Not sure if we went on a day when they were understaffed but it took a bit more than 30minutes after the time of our reservation for our food to be served. Other than that, I highly recommend it.

It is amazing how delicious this food was and how complex the teas tasted. It is highly recommended to make a reservation first, but after waiting they allowed us to walk-in. Atmosphere cannot get better. I only have two suggestions: There is one waitress that doesn’t smile at all and speaks quietly, so service could be better. Our table had crumbs as if it was not totally cleaned. Highly recommended.

I took my wife to the tea lounge for a birthday treat. We both enjoyed ourselves, and she was surprised and pleased to find a birthday candle in one of the goodies presented on the three-tiered tray. The tea selection was terrific (it was hard to choose!), and the food was delicious.

We had the most marvelous Sunday afternoon tea at this charming, retro, adorable place. The seating was comfortable, the sandwiches were superb, and the teas--we all tried something different--were delicious. So many good restaurants have shut down in San Francisco but DarTealing continues to thrive. Thank heavens!

High quality afternoon tea at an affordable price in the city! I submitted a reservation inquiry for my friend and I the weekend before and they were able to accommodate an 11am seating the following Saturday. The place is a little hidden as I don't recall seeing any signage outside but has such an inviting and cosy atmosphere inside. My friend and I selected Debutante Ball,a jasmine green tea, and Place de la Sorbonne, a fruity black tea. Cannot recommend Place de la Sorbonne enough! The tea set comes with 4 types of sandwiches, which were ham gouda and honey mustard, bacon jam and picnic potato salad, fresh cucumber and herb, and brie fig chutney and apple, an English sausage roll, a meatball, a scone, and a selection of desserts, which includes a small raspberry crumble, petit four, and a macaron. The highlights for me were the ham and honey mustard sandwich, sausage roll, scone, and the raspberry crumble. My only critique is I prefer when there are an equal number of desserts for everyone rather than having only 1 item (macaron and petit four) and trying to split between 2 people. Will definitely be back!

I went here for my birthday celebration with my husband and daughter. I already cannot wait to go back. Our reserved table was cozy and the teas were delicious. The chef came out and brought us the sandwiches and desserts and gave us details on all the items she made and added a birthday candle to make it extra special. My favorite tea that I tried was Her Majesty’s Secret Service.

My husband and I had a wonderful afternoon tea here. I'd describe the interior as cozy British country home -- it's exactly what you'd want from an inviting casual tea shop. The service was super friendly and laid back. We had two teas: "Breakfast Candy" was our favorite -- like a warm sugar cookie in a cup. "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" was a little richer and more traditional -- it was also excellent. Menu included: sausage rolls, scones w/ cream and jam, buffalo chicken meatballs w/ bleu cheese dressing, cucumber & arugla sandwiches, chicken salad sandwiches, ham and cheese sandwiches w/ honey mustard dressing, and potato salad sandwiches with onion jam, almond-flavored petit fours, shortbread cookies, and key lime pie... We came really hungry and were pleasantly surprised by the amount and quality of the food we had. We will come back!

Really great value tea set! Under 40$ a person with plenty to eat. Their scones are really delicious, great texture, and the sandwiches are also really good. The space is cute and well-decorated, and the tea tastes great too. Would definitely recommend for a girl’s day out!

My favorite tea room in the SF Bay Area! Very cute and comfortable ambiance (the squashy armchairs are PARTICULARLY comfy) with gorgeous china, amazing tea, and delicious food. You can't go wrong with ANY of the food - the finger sandwiches and scones are especially good - and the tea selection offers both uniquely flavorful blends as well as pure teas for those who prefer the latter.

Food was delicious and so was the tea! I wish they sold the holiday tea that they serve there, but they don’t. It was a little busy during the holiday service but I’m looking forward to regular tea service and so happy they’re open again!

I cannot say enough good things about this establishment. Paulina the owner and curator of the tea experience is fantastic. She has the most interesting inspiration for the blends she offers and food flavor choices. The food is wonderful and the tea is mesmerizing, it is a really special place to enjoy. I held my bachelorette there years ago and spent many anniversaries and birthdays at Dartealing over the last 10 years. . It is a must experience for any tea goer or just for someone wanting to try something new. Worth every dime:)

It's a very cute afternoon tea place, and it's one of my favorite ones in the Bay Area. The price range is a bit lower than other ones I've gone to, but overall not too bad. You can order on add ons if you want more food, like more savory items or sweets too. I would recommend to reserve a table rather than walking.

Probably a mind blowing place if you’ve never been outside of America. For people from tea-culture countries this is a very mediocre overpriced experience. Tea for two is $54 (with taxes and tips is ~$70) and it includes 6 varieties of baked goods. Half of the baked goods are from a store and have been previously frozen. The tea is not bad but it definitively has artificial flavors. It’s also not a high quality tea since it doesn’t brew at all with the second hot water refill. Overall, very overpriced for its value.

Tea selections were Parisian Earl Grey; Elementary, my dear Watson!; Debutante Ball; Lady Violet's Wisdom; and Riches of Highgarden. The sandwiches were all very good, but the tastiest items were the cucumber arugula and fish & chip. As for the teas, Lady Violet's Wisdom was incredible due to the intense grape aroma which needed no sugar to experience the flavor, the other teas were as expected, while Riches of Highgarden was overwhelmingly strong and offputtingly smoky. The sausage rolls, puffs, chocolate and raspberry cheesecakes, shortbread cookies, and marzipan petit fours were good; the scones and the brulee matcha cheesecake, not so much. The scones were a little too dense and doughy even though they're bite-sized, and the brulee matcha cheesecake had a hard crust, didn't really taste like matcha, and wasn't actually brûléed. One person ordered the savory tea service so we could try the smoked salmon scone and the tomato quiche; these were standard fare, but still very edible, and the fresh fruit and mint tile were refreshing to the palate after all that food. Our server came by every so often to ask if we wanted more hot water for our teapots but at odd times, but since we were the only party there from 4 pm onwards, they graciously allowed us to stay until 6 o'clock for our friends' reunion. if i'm being completely honest, this was the best tea experience i have had in a long time. i went with a few friends and my family for my birthday, and everything was delicious. a couple of my friends agreed that the overall vibe was that of irl animal crossing. for group tea service, you have to reserve a spot a week ahead of time, but it's totally worth it. my favourite teas were mr carsons secret stash and debutante ball, and i honestly couldn't pick a favourite sandwich between the 4 i chose. the black bean empanadas especially were scrumptious. if you're looking for a posh time in the city, this is definitely the place to go. Sunday tea service for 2 and we ordered the King's tea service since the server recommended it for first timers. Two choices in tea sandwiches and we chose the curried chicken mango chutney and honey lavender creme. For teas, it was Wolves of Winterfell and Kings Landing. This may not seem too important but their steeped loose so you have to use a strainer for your cup. Not a huge deal but just the first time I ever had to do that (I've been to a couple of other tea rooms). The teas came out first and we really liked the Wolves of Winterfell, rooibos with hints of toffee and caramel. Kings Landing was ok, it wasn't too strong in the mango flavor. The food came out in a two tiered tray - the sweets were on top and savories on the bottom. There were two different scones and both were pretty good. The sandwiches were good, nothing outstanding but I did like the variety in selection choices. Tomato spinach quiche and sausage rolls were nice and we were already getting full and warm due to the many cups of tea we were having. The place wasn't entirely full that afternoon and we noticed there was only 1 server - hard to get her attention though. The place has a very cutesy feel to it but you can't tell from the outside. It was still a good experience but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here next time. Since I'm from the East Bay, I'll stick with the one closest to me, the English Rose in Pleasanton. Very homey spot for afternoon tea. Decor are amazing and the place was packed even with our reservation. On the plus side, our food was waiting for us becuase I pre-ordered, and our tea was served promoty after we made our selections. Since we had the place to ourselves, we were able to take pictures around the other cute table settings. Some customers did arrive later on.
