Snow crabs was seasoned good but no sides is the negative for $27 only snow crabs but all in all they were delicious my son enjoyed them

Stopped in for an early lunch... the wonderful fresh smell of a fresh seafood shop filled the air. Greeted by a wonderful southern smile from the young lady. A nice selection of seafood choices. I picked up the conch in garlic butter - yum. The Alaskan crab legs & local blue crab in garlic seasoning were uniquely flavorful. The shrimp in hot sauce were a new taste for me. The blue crab rice was also neat with the brown rice. I like adding the garlic butter to it for additional flavor. I got to try a crawfish and it was one of the best I have had. I finished the meal off with perfectly cooked hard boiled eggs, so fresh! Prices were great for this little local take out joint. They were able to heat up the conch so I could enjoy it on the go.

My husband got 2 lbs of Crayfish on 08/08/2024, and we were very disappointed We got about 20 whole crayfish and a bunch of broken claws, so it seemed to be a half pound of whole Crayfish and 1 1/2 of broken pieces VERY DISAPPOINTED

Came inside to see if they sold raw shrimp, ended up leaving with conch and steamed shrimp. The owner is very nice and cares alot for his community! I recommend this to anybody who wants to get some local to go seafood.

The last time we were in Savannah I saw a gentleman in the lobby of the hotel from a distance eating what I assumed was ice cream. . When I inquired, he said he was eating Conch from David’s Seafood. I purposed to visit David’s when we returned to Savannah. This time my nephew traveled with me and we decided to try it out. The cashier was so kind and helpful and because it was our first time visiting, we were allowed to sample a variety of items before we made our purchase. They hooked us and reeled us in, and because of those samples we ordered shrimp, conch, crab rice, sausages, corn and boiled eggs. Was it good? You bet your bottom dollar it was good!!!!! My wife doesn’t eat seafood, but you can be assured that I’m going back to this takeout only establishment when we return to Savannah.

I really wanted to like this place. There were so many positive reviews but I think I will stick with my other seafood spot. I ordered the garlic low boil dish. The sauce had potential but it was EXTREMELY saltly. There was pieces of crab shell throughout the sauce so you're constantly crunching on them or spitting them I out so much its hard to enjoy the saucs. The shrimp are not deveined which maynot be a big deal for some but it turned me off. Honestly the only thing I enjoyed was potatoes and a couple legs. Different strokes for Different folks I guess but I don't know if I will eat here again...

This place is a rip off bad customer service. They want to charge you $12 something for a plate of shrimp and $9 something for a large bowl and it’s the same amount of shrimp in both…

Prices are higher now. 2 lbs 33 dollars . Small crab

I never tasted conch so tender and great flavor.

The staff are so friendly! The bars on the window have me pause but once inside they were so welcoming and offered me a free sample of every single item! And the owner was telling a school age kid that when he gets all As on his next report card, he would EARN $10 of product. This place is clearly a local hub full of amazing people and food. The food: Their hot sauce is awesome. Their food is all cold, which I hadn’t expected, but was still really good.

I went to this place Tuesday 4/30/24. The young lady that took my order was very nice and helpful. The place was clean and smelled clean. However, my food was horrible. I ordered a low country crab boil ( large) and 1 Dungeness crab. The flavor of the crab boil was good. The crabs was so tiny. The body of the crabs was the size of a quarter not including the little legs. No meat inside the crabs, just disappointing. The shrimp was very rubbery I was struggling to get the shell off. So disappointing. The sausage, potatoes and corn was very good. The 1 Dungeness crabs was huge but it was NASTY, the meat was mushy with a little foul smell. I paid $52 just to throw the food away. It's nothing like having a craving for some good crabs and get the worst crabs ever. I wish I had never went there. I was trying to support the black business owners, but this one never again. Crab Dejour at the Mall will continue to get my money. Crabs are always good and fresh and full of meat! David's Crab House Sucks!!! Need to do better or Closed down!!

Pictures & Videos as well The BAD things: - Ordered crab rice on the side and got none - Ordered peeled shrimp and got shelled veined shrimp - Ordered eggs in the crab boil and got no eggs - Some of the food was mushy which you can see in the pictures that the potatoes were falling apart. - There wasn’t a lot of potatoes, maybe because they had fallen apart. And there were too many sausages. - The ordering area is a bit small and crowded. The GOOD things: - the flavor of the seasoning was good - the corn was sweet and it was good - We ordered and extra side of conch once we got there and my boyfriend said it was good. - My mom said the crab tasted good

Let me start off by saying that when I called David's Crab House, I spoke with the owner. He's a veteran, so it was an extra level of respect for him. I'm also a veteran, so that is a bond right of the back. I have a friend who is from the area but lives in NY, where I also live, but she always brings me David's Crabs when she comes home. Driving from visiting grandkids in Tallahassee, Florida to SC, I had to stop in Savannah GA. At David's Crabs 🦀 House! By the way.. someone else was in there from NY.. driving through and said he always stops there for David's exceptional garlic blue 🦀. They are worth the stop if your in the area... it of a few miles. Think about that discount for military David.. lol

Was not expecting cold crawfish. As a traveler coming through staying in a hotel with limited options to heat food, was pretty disappointed to open a box of cold seafood.

We called to order food from here and the owner asked me if we had been there. Being from out of town I told him. I and he suggested we come in and do a taste testing before we order…So we did and it was awesome!! The staff was extremely knowledgeable and extremely friendly. It was the right decision. Hands down, the best food we had while being in Savannah. I recommend David’s to everyone. All I can say is WOW!!!

New to Savannah, and wanted to try some local seafood. Called in looking to see if they had seating and discovered they were take out only. The man on the phone explained he was the owner and believed he had the best seafood in town and offered to prove it. Offer accepted. When we arrived, we were greeted by David's smile and engaging personality. Once we shared the "magic words" David proceeded to give us a sample of everything. The first thing you notice is the flavor of the spices. Wow! Then you notice the crab is not overcooked because the shells snap and don't bend which makes the meat sweet and easy to get out of the shell. Finally you place your order and discover one order is enough for two....and then some. Yesterday my rating was very good. Today I revise my rating to great. Take it home and make sure you have a roll of papertowels. Will be back David.

I was here 3 years ago and I still remember the sweet person who helped me choose what to eat. She offered her opinions, samples, and her time. Food was amazing!

All I did was call and the black woman on the phone called me a ma'am.I didn't take it as a sign of disrespect until I repeated just to clarify what she was saying,she then got even ruder with me so I just hung up.Do yourself a favor and dont call this place because the black woman on the phone is hatefully rude

Just got a pick up snack of some conch but it was good. Nicely spiced sauce, fair prices, good see them.

Highly recommend David‘s Crab House. We stopped in during the day on New Year’s Eve to place a dinner order as we weren’t sure what time they would close and wanted to make sure we could get food for dinner. The service was great when we ordered and when we came back to pick up in the evening, we had the pleasure of being greeted by David, the owner. As first timers, David insisted we try a sampler of the food on offer which got our taste buds excited. The food did not disappoint, very tasty low country boil and delicious garlic snow crabs. David’s place is the real deal, good value for money and clearly a popular local haunt going by the number of people picking up their dinner orders when we were there.

We just had to stop by this seafood place again during our holiday trip from New York. It has definitely become a bit of a tradition for us. Christina at the counter really made our visit special. She was so helpful with her recommendations, was very personable, and made great conversation. The food was fantastic as always, was fresh, and full of flavor. The low country and garlic crabs are my favorite

The inside is super super dark. I've learned over time no light means it's dirty. I was going to order once I walked in but I was on my way to work and had no time to go elsewhere . First I will say is that it's ALOT of food. BUT...the quality wasn't the best. I had got a snow crab low country boil for $32. There was more sausage than anything else. The shrimp was mushy and overcooked..I couldn't even shell off half of them

The neighborhood that this restaurant's in is not the greatest of neighborhood, but be kind, and the locals will treat you with kindness back.

As Michaelangelo painted and Michael Jordan played basketball, David and his family have been called to boil crab and boy do they deliver. Had a wonderful experience both in shop and tucking into the meal at home. Blue crabs if you like sweeter meats, Dungeness if you like something punchy like lobster. Get the shrimp with shell on. Phenomenal.

First time in Savannah. Had the garlic lowcountry boil with crab and egg - one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Also had the fortune of chatting with the owner briefly - he seemed like a kind person. I know the place seems unassuming but it’s wonderful. FYI: if you don’t like spice of flavor, stay away!!!!

Been going to David’s since middle school. Still the best seafood in C-Pote

We chose to try David's strictly off reviews. This was our 3rd attempt at good seafood while in area and I wished it were our first. We were a little lost when we first walked in but Dave quickly picked us out as new to his establishment and made us feel welcome immediately. Funny dude that kept giving us free samples to try. We got the garlic low country boil for 2, a few devil crab, and crawfish. It was way more than we could eat and half the cost of the others we tried. AND 100% better. Go to David's! You'll love it

This was the very best meal my husband and I had the entire time we was in Savannah. Not only was the food awesome the portions were huge. It was the biggest meal and the lowest price. We even got samples of everything because we have never been there before!! If you want a delicious meal slip the fancy places and go here!!

This is the BEST crab shack in the city. Price on point, seasoning top tier. Quality of food amazing. Crab legs are huge. This place is the pinnacle of seafood perfection. Period.

I travel to savannah every two weeks from Hilton Head Island to get my seafood fix. I get garlic shrimp, garlic crabs, conch and at least 5 eggs. I spend around $80-90 every visit because my sons and I love it! it's well worth the drive. I have not taste anything close to it yet!!! if you haven't tried this place, you are seriously missing out!!!

Wow! Blown away by the quality of the seafood and the attention to details and quality. You can get samples of their food before purchasing items of it is your first time. But then the hard part is choosing because everything is so incredibly good!! We bought seafood salad and they included crackers. Wish they had seating but other than that it was fantastic!!!

David's has some really good seafood! The garlic snow crab legs with the red sauce on top is the bomb! Parking is limited and the space inside is tight (always a line). They are not that friendly, not mean just not friendly, but the food is to go so you don't have to deal with them for long.

The staff are amazing. The seafood is always fresh , Mr. David lets you sample anything before purchasing. He has another location in Atlanta. This place is Absolutely good!

I visited Davids on March 16th, 2019 and March 17th 2019. On the 16th I picked up some conch, fried Tilapia, and fried Swai. The food was good. The only problem is that I orderd much more food than I needed and there was no way nor explanation of how much food I was getting. On the 17th I ordered a large pan of low country boil. They were out of blue claw crabs and so crabs were not part of the dish.they supposedly made up for it by adding more shrimp but the truth is the pan was not filled and in fact seemed half full. I did not get the Davids low boil experience that I was seeking. I would go back but I would stick to their fried dishes. I would also advise David to produce a menu that lets a customer know exactly what they are getting with an order. How many pieces of fish or whatever. And the option to just order fried seafood separates that are not dinners. Hush puppies were not homemade lacking authenticity as would be expected in a local such as Savannah, Ga.

This was my first time visiting this place and the customer service was awful. I said I was evacuated and new I’m not sure how their menu is set. I was met with ATTITUDE. But I proceeded to order Bc it was recommended. I ordered GARLIC BLUE CRAB. ( silly me didn’t check the order before I left Bc they don’t let u see it until after you pay). I get to my hotel and it’s plain non seasoned crabs! Disgusting - I call back and they said they don’t recall having an order like that. So I said okay I’ll bring them back. I bring them back- they said well you left the store so you have to keep them. I said but I don’t have what I ORDERED! They said they didn’t care. Was very rude and I will not ever come back nor recommend this place. The least I could’ve gotten was an apology!

I have been going there for years. They have the best garlic crabs. I always buy 3 or more lbs. Everytime I visit Savannah, I have to go here. The crawfish is excellent too. But their garliccrabs are my favorite. I wished they shipped to New York. I just found out that there is one in Atlanta as well.

I absolutely love this place. Every time I visit Savannah GA I stop here. If your searching for good season southern seafood you should visit David's. This is a take out spot so make sure you triple bag your food if you like extra sauce. Excellent customer service every visit. I will always repeat when I'm in the area.

My sister-in-law had garlic crabs 20 years ago during a visit to Savannah. After our Old Savannah Tour (OST) and we were headed back to our hotel, we asked Tripp, our OST shuttle driver, if he knew where we could find garlic crabs. He told us absolutely; David's Crab House. Not only crabs, but shrimp and conch and heaven knows what else. It is not within walking distance of the Historic District but still only a short car ride away. And boy, was it worth it! Reasonable, and exactly as she remembered. Don't be fooled by the outside. It was clean on the inside. They offered for you to taste whatever you wanted. You cannot eat on the premises, but we had a fridge and microwave in our rooms so it was not an issue. And the menu has much more to offer than just crabs. Just take a look for yourself! By the way, if you want to know where locals go, shuttle drivers are THE best sources for good eats.

Amazing little establishment. Freshest, largest and best seasoned crab, oysters, shrimp and fish. I have been to Maryland inner harbor for steamed blue crab many times and this place BLOWS them away for fresh steamed blue crabs. They are also HUGE! As a world traveler, their snow crab is reminiscent of Singapore chili crab and the spicy conch and shrimp are simply unbelievable as are the fresh hush-puppies. It is all take-away, but you will get everything you need and the line can easily stretch out the door and along the street. The staff will let you sample everything and they are friendly and fun to deal with as are the patrons in line. It is located in a transitional neighborhood but we felt very safe. Please do yourself a favor in Savannah if you truly want to experience authentic, fresh, low-country seafood and order everything they have for a picnic or take-home meal. Cool a few brews, cover the table in garbage bags and dig in! You WILL NOT be disappointed! Ordering ahead is a good idea as again the lines can be quite extensive. Cash and credit/debit cards are OK.
