Used to be great! Gyros plate was dry and uninspired. But the people are first rate!

My family and I have been coming here for years. We’ve had private parties as well. Great food, prices, atmosphere and staff! Management is very nice as well 😊 Props to this waiter here who knows how to fire 🔥 up a saganaki…OPA!

The food was so good and the service was exemplary from the greeting at the door to table service to the greeting as we left. This place is a hidden gem, go there and eat. You will not be disappointed.

Decent food. Went there for lunch. Ordered Fresh catch - Salmon fresh garlic and capers. It was pretty tasty.

George and his family are incredible people and everyone should frequent their restaurant. My girlfriend and I hosted our baby shower here with about 40 people and these guys bent over backwards to accommodate all of our wants and needs. We did a brunch buffet that was fairly priced and all the food was delicious. Highly recommend!

Let me start by saying our server was very nice and courteous. However, that is where the niceity ends. We have always loved Demetri's. However, tonight, we had the worst service ever. We had to ask the server several times for olive oil, a diet coke, and utensils. After about 15 minutes of waiting, I grabbed utensils from another table. He just was terrible about following up on our requests. It was the poorest service we have had here, and we've been here literally dozens of time. In addition to the poor service, there was water dripping on us from the ceiling vent. I hope this was a one-time anomaly and the next time we go there the service is better. This has always been our go-to restaurant.

Delicious Greek foods with large portions. The staff are also friendly and welcoming.

Normally we would go down to Greektown. However, last time I was in town came across Demetris. Now there's no more reason to go downtown.

Disgusting! Beef was overcooked, stringy, and way over salted. Rice was over cooked and sitting in a pool of brown something, but very salty too. Veggies way overcooked. Presentation of food… non existent. Looked liked the server through the food on the plate. Servers were rude. First and last time here.

Casual dining with great tasing food with large portions. The moment we walked in we felt welcomed. We made reservations but didn't really need them. However, we did arrive at 8:00 p.m., The parking lot was quite full. The waiter was wonderful. He carried on light conversation and made sure we were aware of our food service in a timely manner. Yes, we would go there again.

Food and service is always great at Demetri's. I love eating in the bar as everyone seems to know everyone.

Before 18 years we (from work) ate every week in Demetri's. This week I was near the restaurant and decided to take lunch again. Food is still amazing, the price is reasonable and service is very good. I recommended it to a friend of mine He asked me for the place and after I told him he cannot believe that it is cheap compared with other restaurants. Actually the front of the restaurant a parking is full.

Really nice food and nice people

The chicken Caesar salad was pretty awful. The chicken was dry and rubbery, there was almost no dressing, and there wasn’t any extra ingredients to make the salad interesting. Literally just dry grilled chicken and dry lettuce leaves with a hint of dressing.

Demetri’s is a gem in the realm of Greek cuisine, offering not just delicious food but also a welcoming atmosphere and great service.

Went for a late afternoon family birthday dinner. The menu selection, food quality, authenticity, ambiance were all second to none. I recommend the Yemista (stuffed peppers and tomatoes filled with beef and rice) served with Greek potatoes and veggies. Other family members had the Dolmades, Pastitsio, and Makaronada, all of which were mouth watering and done right! Avgolemono was glorious, and the Saganaki was awesome, spot on-not dry or too salty. Portions are generous and yet dont leave you stuffed but satisfied. It felt like we were in Greece. OPAA! You must eat here! Bravo Dimitri's and all the staff, σας ευχαριστούμε!

We sat by the fire place in January and it was very cozy. The food was delicious. I had scallops, cooked to perfection. Our waiter was attentive.

Had a lunch for our anniversary. Appetizers of roasted eggplant spread & grilled country sausage were good. Main course. Stuffed peppers & combo plate both of us enjoyed very much. All dishes were large amounts and needed doggy bag to take home. They gave us a free dessert of Baklava but not so good. It seemed old.

Wow, out family was blown away by our first visit to Demetri's. The food was absolutely delicious. We are no strangers to Greek food and these were some of the best classic dishes we've ever had. The service was also excellent. Our waiter, Demetri, was friendly and very attentive. We will definitely be back!

This was our first time eating here. The service was great and so was the atmosphere. I don’t think we would come back because the food was just ‘okay.’ The saganaki was small and not cooked long enough. I wasn’t a fan of the salad and the spanakopita wasn’t what I expected (it needed to be cooked longer and it had a different after taste). My fiancé had the salmon and said it was good.

We had responsive, friendly service. The food was delicious. The employees were actual Greeks, so it added to the ambiance.

I ate here last night and got a Greek salad. Asked for no sardines because I’m allergic. First bite I took had sardines. While they got me a new one, they didn’t even say sorry or comp it off our bill. Very disrespectful to the customer. The rest of my group liked there meal-and clearly the place is well liked by this town- but I was completely turned off.

Demetri's is a favorite lunch destination for our group of retired teachers • In addition to its affordable, quality, wide menu, and comfortable setting, the management is very accommodating to our prolonged conversation • Paul is an outstanding, patient server and a rate one who doesn't eye roll when we request separate checks. 🙂

Lovely service even as early birds. Catching up with out of town friends was delightful situated by the fireplace. As always the food was delicious. We had Saganaki and grilled calamari followed by Skirt Steak and a vegetable Mousaka. Feel free to bring vegetarian fiends. They have great choices. This restaurant is a favorite of mine.

Great place. Had saganaki, fried zucchini, gyros, and moussaka...all solid! The Greek salad would have been good if they did not put anchovies on it...what the heck? You don't put anchovies on a Greek salad!!

First time eating here inside. We moved to the area during the pandemic and did take-out, which was always excellent. Came in after Lightscape at CBG. Food was fresh and delicious. Service was exceptional. Price and value can't be beat. We'll be back again soon.

It was the most foul-smelling and tasting lamb I have ever eaten. Three 8 person tables for this party, and nobody touched the lamb at any of the tables for a reason. The servers are handing you plates in your hand and expecting you to swap them the dirty plate sitting in front of you on the table. The greek salad was bland with just olive oil as the dressing. The chicken with some thick snot like sauce that looks like it came out of a sewer. You should be ashamed. Yesterday was the second time I was here and only because it was a birthday party. Imagine choosing this restaurant to celebrate your birthday and they spit in youy and your guests face? Horrible food, horrible service, and overall an ugly restaurant. UPDATE: The owner Sam saw the above review and contacted the host of the party asking him who left this review and to take it down. Let that sink in. I had no problem calling Sam and telling him everything above and more. The most interesting part was when I brought up the lamb smelling stinky and tasting old. He said, "we COOK it fresh," and I said "yea but it's probably been sitting raw in your refrigerator for two weeks," and there were several seconds of awkward silence. I even acknowledged that silence as meaning I probably have it about right. Sam, as much as you seemed to dislike me leaving a review and calling me a "smart a$$ trying to take your business down" I think it is just difficult for you to hear the truth. And this is America, I can have an opinion about your stinky old lamb. I am glad you can boast on the phone for being in business for 20 some years and maybe the food used to be good. Or maybe yesterday was an off night, or you missed a shipment of fresher lamb and had to use lamb sitting in the freezer for a couple of months. I dont know. But the truth is the truth, and hopefully, your ego, which seems so big, can be put aside for the sake of the quality of your food and service. You told me never to come to your restaurant again and I told you I wouldn't eat there if it was free and I was starving. Then you hung up on me. But imagine having the owner of the restaurant call the host of the party to figure out who left the bad review. That is more desperate and pathetic than any 2 month frozen but "fresh cooked" lamb. Makes me think what his rating would be if he didn't bully people about negative reviews. Greek food is truly delicious. There are many places to find it in. It is NOT Demetri's. And if you are thinking about hosting a party there, hopefully your guests don't leave a review or Sam the owner will come calling you.

Delicious, authentic Greek cuisine.

I would definitely go back. The food was so good. Traditional and flavorful. Good portions. Bartender was a highlight. Friendly, fun and quick with suggestions. The wait staff was kind, didn't always understand questions which was fine. But didn't clear the dishes. Even when bringing dessert they only took the large dishes. A little odd but not a big deal. Atmosphere is a little tight. The place is clean and well lit. Plenty of parking. The owner was on the premises, always a plus!

Yes, we were there for a group function but if gyros were as good as they were for a big group, just think how good those gyros would be individually And, by the way, if you go to a Greek restaurant, eat and drink grecian; I recommend retains and ouzo.

Delicious food, great value, nice for a group - noise level can be high however, the booths in the back of the restaurant are perfect for two people. They are located away from the larger tables and provide a quieter space.

We had a large group of 25 people in the front private room. The food was delicious and just kept coming until we nearly exploded. The staff were excellent, friendly, entertaining and some with thick accents that the kids enjoyed guessing where they were from - Greece, of course!

We went during the week and it wasn’t very busy. Our waiter Joseas was friendly and attentive and set the tone for a relaxed meal. The food was tasty and served hot. Everything was as expected. We will return again soon.

We had a booth and it gave us privacy to catch up with friends we hadn't seen in 20 years. The lamb chops were superb and our friends loved their choices.

The swordfish daily special was cooked perfectly and seasoned to perfection. The salad with skirt steak was delicious.

Best Gyros ever!!!...welcoming and positive atmosphere...love it!!!

My dining companion and I were warmly greeted by Sam, the owner🫠 We were served by John last Sunday evening. He was attentive, professional and made sure we were well taken care of from when we first sat down until we finished and paid our bill! H Our table was bussed efficiently throughout the meal. John asked if we wanted to take home anything and promptly provided a take home box and a bag in which to carry the leftovers. We celebrated my friend’s birthday that night. Very happily to have celebrated at Demitri’s!

I cant rave about this place enough. Having grew up in a greek food home and visiting greek town monthly a good part of my life, I can honestly say this place is by far the best greek restaurant Ive ever been to. No offense to the others, in their day in their own way they are/were all good. I will forever miss my favorite Roditys but this place makes them second best, and bumps Athena and Greek Islands as well down a notch. Demetris get it, you can eat just from the appetizer side of the menu and have a varied feast and even have leftovers. I cant think of the last time I had left overs, just from appetizers. Amazing food, great value, and our waiter Ceasar was like being around an old friend yet prompt and professional. Try this place if youre up in the north burbs or on route to/from wisconsin. You will be glad you did.

It was quiet, as it was Sunday night. Tasty? - Yes. The waiter looked exhausted, but the service was fair. Prices went up, you can feel the inflation. Also, 3% of some CC fees are added to your bill now.

Too pricey for me but I’m cheap, I might have to start dumpster diving cuz… JK! I don’t go out to eat so I don’t know a good price when I see one. And I’d rather have ice cream anyway.

Lovely spot for a fabulous lunch! The grilled chicken sandwich and chicken, spinach, artichoke panini were expertly prepared and delicious. The accompanying Greek lemon soup - a treat for the senses - was a perfect starter. The side mini salad of cantaloupe, tomato, and cucumber was garden fresh. Finally the succulent crispy fries or optional sauteed zucchini and carrots completed the combo for a filling and fulfilling experience. Top it off with exemplary service and you have Dimitri's - a true gem!

I enjoyed my meal very much. The food was delicious. The service I can't say was great. In fact I would say our wieter was rude.
