This restaurant is one of the worst I've been to. It is way too expensive for what it offers.i would rather go to a fast food restaurant where I expect the food to be bad.

An all over the place time. The food itself was very good and the gnocchi and the tortellini appetizers were especially fantastic.BYOB is a plus too. To be fair about our time, they are about to undergo some serious much needed renovations. The seating and setting are not particularly comfortable and the noise level on a busy Friday night made regular conversation difficult. The service while friendly was not very attentive for a place this small. Empty wine bottles never cleared we had to keep asking for water and for an ice bucket. I'd like to try again on maybe a Thursday night when renovations are made. The food warrants another try.

I am giving one star only because I cannot give zero stars. Quite simply, after waiting more than an hour and a half for our dinner, during which time we were repeatedly assured that it would be out "soon", we decided to leave. When the chef/owner, cooking in an open kitchen, was informed, we could hear him screaming about what ungrateful diners we are. As we politely made our way to the door, the chef angrily confronted us pushing a plate into our faces containing partially grilled pork, scolded us that good food takes time, and that we should go eat McDonald's. It was so bizarre.

April 2024 Update - Have been here several times since last review two years ago but just had to update to say it remains one of the best restaurants in the area. Gnocchi and Tortellini appetizers were to perfection and the Halibut and Perch fish entrees were beyond delicious. It's nice to eat somewhere repeatedly and know ahead of time the meal will be stellar. June 2022 update - Second time here and once again, everything was excellent! Four of us enjoyed five appetizers, four entrees, and three desserts ...all of which were perfectly prepared and wonderfully delicious. Also ate outside this time and the patio just adds to the great meal and stellar service. April 2022 - My only regret in dining at D'Floret was being so distracted by the great food, that I forgot to take photos! First time visiting was this past Friday. We had a 6:00 reservation and were seated promptly upon arrival. (I'd definitely recommend reservations). Our two appetizers were Gnocchi and a Wild Mushroom Lobster tart - both excellent, best gnocchi I've ever had. And being indulgent, we also had a Foie Gras which was equally great. Our mains were a Seared Ahi Tuna, cooked to perfection, and Faro Island Salmon over Creamed Spinach which again, was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Promising ourselves we'd skip dessert proved futile and the Chocolate Royale on a bed of Hazelnut Praline disappeared in what had to be under a minute! Delicious! A new favorite eatery for us, we'll be back ... Soon!

Dennis and Estella are the nicest people, the atmosphere is cozy yet classy, and the food is Michelin level. Get the mushroom soup if they have it, the tortellini, and any fish entrees. They also make their own orange flour for their mandarin tart which is incredible. Lo recomiendo.

My soup - the special with asparagus - was silky-smooth and the best I've ever had. So was the swordfish with the braised fennel-orange accompaniment, and my husband loved his ribs. The panna cotta was a little stodgy. A gourmet experience for a special occasion, but rather expensive, despite it being BYOB.

The highlight of our meal was the crab appetizer.  It was OMG delicious.  The mushroom soup was served luke-warm, I should have asked if that was on purpose.  It was really tasty.  My wild boar was a pleasure to eat.  Same for the red mullet.  If your idea of a good dining out experience is walking out with a large doggy-bag, this is not your place.  Have an app [or dessert] to extend the experience and fill your tummy. Service exceptional.  Slightly tight quarters.  No credit cards.

D’Floret is a very quaint and elegant restaurant tucked away in Lambertville NJ. Opened and operated by a husband and wife team, the restaurant had an amazing menu with entries that you would not normally find elsewhere. I had the wild boar which was delicious. And if you love desserts, the executive chef I’d also a pastry chef so we had their famous profiteroles- a great way to end the evening. Just an FYI - they only accept cash or check but don’t let this stop you from enjoying this little jewel.

My wife and I had a truly memorable experience last night at D’Floret. We have been wanting to dine here for quite some time and were lucky to get a reservation as this is a very limited seating restaurant! Well it was well worth the wait. The ambiance and service were fantastic. The food was quite possibly one of the top meals I’ve had at a restaurant in New Jersey. My wife had the rouget barbet and I had the wild boar. Both were impeccably cooked, seasoned masterfully, and creatively prepared. The gnocchi were rolled to order and cooked with perfection, topped with fresh shaved black truffles really took it over the top. If I could give this place six stars I would!

My husband took me for my birthday, at the suggestion of his friend who took his wife for her birthday. It was incredibly delicious. We had the tuna tartar and mushroom puff pastry appetizers, they were both outstanding and completely different. The puff pastry was rich and savory while the tartar was chilled and refreshing with a lemon sorbet on top. The entrees where the show stoppers though, wild board and rack of lamb. We both wanted to lick our plates. Eat here, you won't regret it.

We have wanted to try d'floret for quite some time and finally got around to it. Now sorry we waited so long. The menu leans seafood, and my spouse had a delicious piece of rouget. I was tempted by the sous vide veal chop special. Both were delicious with very nice presentations. The layout encourages discussion between tables, which we enjoyed as well. If you're into decor, this isn't the place for you. For us, the food and atmosphere was enough. If I had to identify one area for improvement, it was the scent of bleach. It might have been coming from the kitchen (and if so, A+ for cleanliness) or in the solution used to clean up tables after customers leave (if so, maybe use steri-san instead?). Either way, better ventilation to pull out the odor would be desirable. There appear to be less than 20 seats in the entire restaurant, so worth considering for a larger group dinner where you can take the whole restaurant.

We came here for my wife’s birthday in August with 6 people we all thought the restaurant was excellent. We came for my Anniversary this past Thursday and was served a $67. veal chop that was so tough it was hard to cut with a steak knife. I told the server about it. She witnessed me trying to saw through tough meat. She did offer me the choice to have something else, but at that time my wife was halfway through her meal and our wine was almost finished, and I was not prepared to wait for a new entree. The server came back and made some excuse about a new supplier. I did expect them to not charge for the substandard chop. My wife did enjoy her fish, and we will probably go back, but the customer service that evening was not ideal.

OK food from starters to dessert. Lovely outdoor area and nice staff but the food is just not that great. Starters Pea Soup, the ginger was overdosed creating an an imbalance and hiding the flavor of the peas, the ginger was not fresh and zesty but stale and slightly moldy tasting. Bad start, but another guest had the Gnocchi which was better although over salted. The Cod and Salmon were very good quality but the potatoes where under cooked and hard, the sauces were delicious but again just a little too salty for our palette but overall very nice. The desserts seem to have come from outside, didn't taste homemade and felt industrial. Some quite amazing reviews maybe raised our expectations a little too much but we are determined to find great food outside of NYC, unfortunately the search continues for our party.

Chef Foy’s D’Floret is a big gem … in a tiny jewel box. He and Estella run a tight ship focusing on best fresh local farm suppliers and delectable finds and efficient gracious service. The rouget fish is a personal favorite …but the other night swordfish popped up as a special. Velvety, moist, fresh, and the most heavenly swordfish with a light handed summery herb touch…and I am not a swordfish or other steaky fish fan as usually dry and flavorless. But Chef Foy hooked and prepared this beauty that had the whole table oohing and ahing to the last bite. Among many lovely restaurants in this area, D’Floret soars above and beyond all expectations. Great appetizers, great main, great service BUT dessert round profiteroles were not good. Stale as a matter of fact. As everything else was so good, we wanted the chef to be informed, only for him to come out, tell us they were not stale, perhaps over-baked while reheating. My husband's sirloin was more medium than medium rare, as he requested, and not tender. He enjoyed his potatoes. The dessert, profiteroles with chocolate sauce, was mediocre at best, and certainly not worth $12. The service was uneven. We were greeted and seated outside quickly and served water quickly. The entrees took a Long time to come out, because, we were told, they were made to order. Perhaps, but that isn't an excuse for such a wait. I am so happy we decided to dine @ d'floret. A chef owned and operated business where his lovely wife is the host/server & artist who supplies the restaurants paintings/décor. The Chef is a pasty chef and chocolatier by trade and wow it really shows. It reminded me of an upscale Manhattan eatery with zero snobbery. The food was executed perfectly and the price for the elevated level of food was worth every penny. Just know that it is BYOB (no corkage fee!) and cash or check only. We enjoyed the puffed pastry with chantarelle mushrooms & cream as well as the crab cake appetizers, SO GOOD!! For mains we dined on the sirloin steak with the tastiest demi glaze and creamiest pomme puree, delightful! We also had the special Fish that was served with fennel puree and a Tuscan bean salad; the fish was crispy on the outside and flaky in the center, and I ate every last bite. Then the star of our meal, the off menu cream puffs stuffed with vanilla bean icecream; the puffs were crispy and light and the perfect accoutrement for the icecream. I will return everytime I'm in the area

Me and my girlfriend attended for New Years Eve dinner where we had a wonderful experience. From the first bite to the last we were overwhelmed by the extravagant flavors. The service was inviting and I was grateful for the attention to detail with thorough explanations of every dish, along with recommendations that brought us out of our comfort zone.

Highly recommend!!!! This is a small restaurant, so reservations are recommended. The service is great BUT the food is just amazing! I had the salmon and the broccoli rabe and tomatoes served with it was PERFECT! My husband had the steak and loved it. It's a BYOB so don't forget the wine! LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!
