Customer service was really good. Atmosphere was peaceful and no hush-hush. Food was alright

Chicken tikka masala was tender but the sauce was comparable to spaghetti-o’s. Very bland. Naan was dry and flavorless as well. Palak chaat was soggy. Unfortunately, very disappointing first experience and will not order again.

I truly, truly enjoyed myself here! After growing accustomed to enjoying Indian dishes at a restaurant located outside my dorm at Yale University over the summer, I was determined to find a local restaurant in the area. Beautiful atmosphere, wonderful service, delicious buffet for lunch! Quite a peaceful experience!

Did not expect outstanding food and service in a strip mall...but they have both! Fantastic experience and the portions were very generous. LOVED: Palak Chaat (I will get this every time I return), Paneer Tikka, and Murg Bhajee with rice. We had leftovers for the next day too!

Best restaurant south of Old Towne!

One of our very favorites. Dine in or take out. Naan, tandoori dishes, and lamb dishes are my personal favorites.

This restaurant has been the number one destination for our family for over a decade. Since the pandemic we have been ordering takeout once a week and it’s always FANTASTIC.

I totally recommend trying the buffet. It's reasonably priced and gives the customer a chance to experience all kinda different Indian food.

All you can eat buffet on Saturday. The food was exceptionally bland. Neither spicy nor flavorful. The buffet hours were until 2:30 pm and they started taking the buffet down at 2:30 pm, and hassled us to leave exactly at 2:30 pm even though one of our party arrived at 2:00 pm and was still eating. I have never been to a buffet that started dismantling exactly when the end time arrived, never mind being hassled to leave when the end time arrived. Every normal restaurant allows patrons to finish eating and go back to buffet for at least 30-45 minutes.

The buffet is ok, but I will be staying away from this restaurant because they are extremely stingy with fountain drinks. My diet coke came in a glass the contained perhaps 6 ounces. I quickly finished it and needed a refill (which required several minutes to get the attention of a server). I started drinking more water from that point, but still needed a few more refills over the course of my lunch given how small the glass was. When I checked out, I discovered they had charged me for 2 diet cokes ($7 total) and when questioned they informed me that free refills are limited to 2 per drinks. So I think they actually have a business strategy of intentionally using too-small glasses for soda and then trying to upcharge for it. I would recommend instead for a great Indian buffet to visit Aditi in Kingstown, their soda glasses are much larger, no charges for refills, and a MUCH larger selection of high quality food.

I have been going to this restaurant for years and have always enjoyed the food. This past weekend I experienced very unsatisfactory portions of food unlike any of my past times I have dined at this restaurant.

It smells so delicious, they’re so kind and the service is quick. Will definitely come again! It’s a great experience!

I visited the Dishes of India restaurant for their Sunday lunch buffet and was impressed by the excellent seating, atmosphere, and service. However, I found the variety of dishes to be lacking, with probably 10 or fewer items available. While the quality of the food was decent , I had anticipated a wider selection, especially considering the $20.95 price point.

The wait staff was so friendly and efficient. The food was fantastic. The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated. There is a steep flight of stairs to get there but there are rails.

Not sure about their other dishes but biryani is not their specialty. Muddy rice with chicken curry. Thats not what biryani is, plus it’s overpriced at $21 Not recommended

Can't say enough good things about Dishes of India. We do to-go orders here often and the food is always prepared on time and tastes amazing. Honestly, we've never ordered anything that made us unhappy. Eating in the restaurant is just as enjoyable. Friendly, helpful staff and always an incredible presentation. We love Dishes of India and hope it's here in the neighborhood for a long time.

First timers here. We have never eaten Indian food before mostly because i was afraid of too much spice. I was so wrong. The food was delicious. Yes you can get some dishes very spicy. We did not. Very flavorful. We are adding another cuisine to our menus

I'm disappointed they raised their prices AGAIN on their lunch bowls. $21 per person is just ridiculous at this point. Their lunch special kept us going through the pandemic but I just can't justify the price point any more. I can't spend $70-80 on lunch for 3 people!!

This restaurant reminds me of what a homemade dish prepared by mom must taste like— that is if I came from an Indian home. Their dishes are straightforward and reliably good— nothing fancy but simply tasty. I’ve been coming to this restaurant for about 15 years and they never disappoint.

We used to go regularly with my family to this restaurant and the food was great. It was buffet style. And they had special dishes and desserts for holidays weekends. However, pot pandemic they no longer has buffet, they only offer bowls specials for $20 plus dollars. Their price growth is not in accordance with quality and location. So I’m not sure if it changed ownership or why the prices and quality changed so much ( not for the better). It has a very steep set of stairs to get to this underground restaurant, so this is a challenge for handicap or elderly people. Otherwise parking is easy since it located in the Safeway supermarket shopping center in Belle Haven.

The restaurant is not wheelchair accessible and this is a problem. My friend want the food and we had to ask the next door business if we could used there outside tables to eat there food. The restaurant would be smart business to get a table to accommodate wheelchair users and share delusion food.

I ordered using a food delivery app for dinner and I was not disappointed. I love Indian food and this place was perfect. I ordered the chicken biryani for myself and butter chicken.
