Wonderful winery with a beautiful selection of wines. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Facility is clean and welcoming. Definitely look forward to returning.

We enjoy drinking wine, but did not really find one worth taking home here. Staff was friendly and service was quick, but the inside atmosphere was a bit sterile. We drank our flights inside on outdoor patio tables which we thought was kind of odd.

Jon and his wife were absolutely amazing they picked out the best wines for all of our preferences (party of 6). We are currently visiting up here and have had the best experience yet with them. Truly sad they aren’t down by where we live or I would visit EVERYDAY. The second we walked in we felt so welcomed and the prices are the best and most affordable prices i’ve seen that are worth what you are given. They also offer charcuterie boards that elevated our expectations. Jen has also been such a help we had the best conversations and she made sure to make my whole party feel so welcomed and made conversation so easy. This is now my home away from home!!

Awesome winery, they grow their own grapes and have some unique options like their ice wine which they harvest the grapes for when it is 13 degrees outside for 3 consecutive days. The staff was very knowledgeable and willing to take the time to educate and make recommendations. Thanks Jen for a great tasting, we will be back!

Beautiful large shaded patio for wine tasting. Modern and tastefully decorated tasting room add to the whole experience. There’s a good selection of delicious wine from locally grown grapes and charcuterie board available. We scored six bottles of rose and red wines on sale! There’s was also great guitar/singer music on the Saturday afternoon that we were there. Would definitely recommend!

This was my favorite winery that I visited in the door county area! The staff was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and the location was beautiful.

Everyone at the winery could not have been nicer. We had a little dog and they welcomed her in while we tasted the wines. It was hard to choose what wines we would go home with, there were so many good wines to choose from. Next time we are in town we will definitely stop by.

We arrived late with only a half hour before closing. Our hostess greeted us warmly and told us to take our time. She talked to us about the wines available and described our wine flight choices in layman's terms a she poured . She made us feel so welcome. It's was great fun.

Stopped by Door 44 Winery recently and was thrilled to see that Claudia was there! She is so friendly, has such a great way of interacting with people and answered all my questions……as usual!! Love this winery and the options for indoor or outdoor seating. Very welcoming, with a nice variety of “extras” for your shopping experience! Cards, jewelry and gift bags…..it’s all there for a one-stop shopping trip!

As a former resident of Sturgeon Bay, now De Pere, I'm saddened to see the slow regression of Door 44. Visited on July 4 with my spouse and two boys around 2 PM. There were a handful of cars in the parking lot and b/c of the holiday assumed they were closed...they were not. It was not busy. We ordered 2 flights and got the boys some root beers, pretzels and beer cheese dip. The white wine's were luke warm to include the sparking wine Sparklr. The reds were okay but tasted slightly aged, as if the bottle had been open a while. The outdoor tables were all pretty wobbly and we spilled some of our flight. After picking 3 tables, we settled upon the least wobbly. Beware! On checkout we were not allowed to use our gift certificates. Through @DestinationDoorCounty, we purchased small business gift certificates to use throughout the peninsula to local small biz. The rules/fine print of the program stated that if your gift certificate exceeded the value of your purchase, you were to receive cash in return. Our total was $28 and we had a $50 gift certificate. They refused to give us cashback and would not allow us to use them. They intentionally breached the contract of their Destination Door County agreement by failing to provide cash change. Since my spouse just lost her job, this was supposed to be a nice treat for us. Unfortunately, it was not and the way the staff handled it left my spouse very distraught and near tears. How disgusting of that individual and organization. Fortunately, I had a credit card with me and we paid out of pocket when the total trip should have been free with $22 in cash. How embarrassing to us, they belittled the situation and my spouse. On a side note, we later visited Stone Harbor and The Salty Seagull and used our certificate and did receive cash back both times. Door 44, you have an issue and your breach of trust to both customer and Destination Door County has been shared with an acquaintance in DDC. Best of luck on your future endeavors, and they will not include me, my mother, my mother in law, my father in law and my brother who were back at home in Sturgeon Bay to hear this story too and like to stop every now and then. EDITED: From 2 stars to 1 star due to the false owner response. Sorry. Not sorry. Dishonesty is intolerable. Our total was $28 and that included the free flight they gave us. Claudia publicly embarrassed my spouse, I left that out yup. Shame on you Door 44. My kids were upset as she left in tears. Good job trying to save face with your less than accurate response. Everything I wrote was factual and happened. Sorry you felt the need to respond here with an exaggerated response. We look forward to exploring other wineries and adventures in DC, they simply will not include you.

We were the couple behind Nicholas and his family and had a much different view of the situation that unfolded with their gift certificates. Claudia went above and beyond to explain their policy on the matter and even comped them some of their bill. She was courteous and apologized for the situation. She was visibly upset that she couldn’t help them more. I’m sorry this happened to them all. We also enjoyed some wine that afternoon and it was the right temperature and delicious. We have nothing but glowing reviews for any visit we have made to Door 44 and have been loyal followers since they opened. The place is clean, well staffed and organized. They continue to offer new and enjoyable experiences. We have done GS cookie parings, wine and cheese parings with Maria and listened to countless musical groups all while sipping a glass of their premium selections. As a matter of fact we were just there again this afternoon listening to a fabulous duo and savoring a glass of Le Crescent & F2. The place was PACKED with people doing the same. I heard laughter and saw broad smiles on faces all around me. We tell all our friends and family to visit the winery when they visit the Door and serve Door 44 wines when entertaining. We wish Steve and Maria continued success with all their endeavors.

First, Patti was extraordinary. Excellent help in choosing wines for tasting which made it easier to choose which wines to buy. A definite stop the next time I’m in DC.

I stopped by Door 44 Winery last week while visiting Door County to pick up some wine bottles. As I was choosing wines, Claudia came over to help. She took her time to explain the different types of wines and the deals they had. Her knowledge and friendliness made the visit special. Claudia answered all my questions and even gave some great pairing suggestions. I felt very welcomed and appreciated as a customer. Because of Claudia, I will definitely come back for an in-dine wine experience. Her excellent service has made me a loyal customer. If you’re in Door County, I highly recommend visiting Door 44 Winery.

What a great place! The women who worked there were the very best. Upon seeing that I was traveling with kids, they made some fabulous wine recommendations and got us set up on the patio ASAP with a flight of wine for me and a DIY charcuterie board. The wines were delicious and it was a laid-back, relaxing experience on the patio--the kids loved running through the big fields out there!

Waited while everyone else around us was greeted and served. Not even an acknowledgement we were there. Decided if they don't have the time then we shouldn't buy and left.

Last Thursday we stopped here to start our girls weekend. The service and genuine hospitality here was top tier!!! Patti was the best she helped us find the best wines based on our personal preferences! She was so knowledgeable and so accommodating! We each left with our favorite bottle or 2! I highly recommend stopping for a flight! -

Went to Door 44 yesterday at about 4:30pm right after a big rush. Had a great experience! Jim was excellent at explaining the wines we were sampling. Claudia was so kind and very helpful! We even got to speak with the owner, Steve! He told us all about the newest wine which we tasted and very much enjoyed!! Cannot wait to go back!

Spent a lovely late April afternoon sampling well crafted and 100% Wisconsin local wines at Door 44 with their friendly and knowledgeable team in their airy and light-filled building. We would highly recommend a visit while in Door County and will be back on our next trip. Locavores rejoice: Door 44's goal is to make wine from grapes grown only in Wisconsin (no imports), and they are good at it -- just peek at the awards wall in the building. Door 44 has a terrific variety of reds and whites, dry and sweet along with rose, sparkling and ice wine.

Stopped in to do a tasting this past weekend at Door 44 Vinyard and Winery. We do live in Door County and when we first moved here 12 years ago we visited all the wineries on a regular basis. But as time goes by it seems to be more of a tourist thing and the newness starts to wear off. Door County has something for everyone, whether you're a serious wine aficionado or just a casual drinker. Door 44 will meet your needs with great success in wine varieties from sweet to light bodied dry in selections. You have the option of building your own charcuterie board, a cheese board with wine options, or buying some local goods to pair with whatever wines you have selected. All this can be enjoyed in a wonderful indoor setting or on the patio overlooking the vinyards with tempatures that are hard to beat. You will more than likely be greeted by Claudia, the manager/cheerful host and directed to the tasting bar where Stephen with all his knowledge will help you with wine selections. Enjoy a weekday visit or a musical Saturday afternoon.

Let me tell you, Claudia is one heck of an incredible host! We stopped in about a half hour till close as kids were napping in cars and husbands were in accommodating moods, Claudia truly made it an incredibly relaxing experience. We enjoyed a flight and were fortunate enough to score a taste of their Ice Wine — worth it! Claudia even included the only nap resistant wee one among our troop by pouring samples of the finest water she had available. They had an excellent array of cheeses and other fun, and delicious, Door County finds. We venture up annually and will absolutely build Door 44 into our trips going forward as it’s a must stop! Thank you, Claudia!

Door 44 Winery is a must visit winery in Door County! The team that serves every guest that comes in are all stars! There is a great selection of wines from your favorite dry to the sweetest sweet. One visit isn't enough, start planning your return as soon as you can! Thank you for such a great experience! We were here on a quiet Monday in February. The lovely blond manager and the gentleman behind the bar were great. Friendly, fun, and knowledgeable. Some of our favorite wine in the area. This is a must stop.

Overpriced and anticlimactic. Suggesting the 44th parallel in humble Wisconsin share the same parallel with centuries old prestigious wineries in Tuscany and Burgundy is rudely presumptuous. The wine in its price point deserves one star, but helpful and happy staff make it a two star experience.

Claudia made the experience so wonderful and memorable. Delicious wine, amazing atmosphere, extremely friendly employees. This was my first ever winery experience and I am so happy I chose this place because they really went above and beyond.

My husband and I visited Door 44 and have been wanting to visit for a while. We like to venture to door county when we have date nights. This winery far exceeded all expectations. The wine was amazing and John and Claudia were so sweet and down to earth. We enjoyed listening to their knowledge about wines and being able to have some adult conversation with such kind and personable individuals was a nice plus since we have a new baby at home and haven't been able to get out much. I highly recommend anyone to visit this winery! We will be back when we can get a sitter for another night out.

My boyfriend and I come to Door County every year for our anniversary. This was our 7th year and Door 44 is always one of our stops. Great atmosphere, wonderful staff and of course the wine. This year we met Claudia and she made our day extra special. We got the last bottle of Bubbler because of her. Thanks Claudia!!!! Hahaha

This is a wonderful winery. The staff is remarkably friendly, and the wines were truly superb, especially the reds. We loved the Vintner's Reserve, Promise, and the Petite Pearl. All native Wisconsin wines!

Door 44 was a great find during my stay in Sturgeon Bay. Stopped in to check out and for a glass of red wine. The woman who served me at as fantastic, she let me taste a few different flavors so I could choose which I enjoyed more for my full glass. This will be a go to while visiting Door County.

OK - wine was like the stuff your old Italian uncle would make. Except worse. They say they have Charcuterie boards - but when you ask they point you to the refrigerator and tell you to pick out what you want which consisted of some wrapped cheeses and spreads and something akin to a slim Jim.

My husband , daughter, and I had awesome day picking grapes at the vineyard at Door 44. What a wonderful time! Great lunch provided by Steve and a gift of wine at the end of picking.

Was disappointed at this winery. The wine is only mediocre and they make you pay $10 for 4 half filled plastic shot glasses, waste of time and money. There are other wineries in the area with free samples and much better wine!

My fiancé and I were visiting Wisconsin about a month ago and stumbled upon Door 44 Winery. Not only were the workers extremely friendly, the wine they offered was AMAZING! We got to try all different types and flavors of such good tasting wine, it was difficult to NOT take a bottle home! Which we definitely did. You don’t need to worry about if you live close enough or not, because they also can ship their wine bottles.

We absolutely Love the Ice Wine!! We had a great time sampling wines on the patio.

I’m so impressed with this winery, the wines, and especially Claudia, that I’d like to update my review to say that my first year as a wine club member has been phenomenal. I especially want to thank Claudia for her expertise and kindness on my recent visit to the winery. She is so knowledgeable and fun and makes our visits a must do when in Door County. I’m leaving today with a case of their excellent wine for gifts for friends and family, and for myself, of course! My friend and I made our usual stop at Door 44 on our way to our fall visit to Door County. Enjoyed our tastings while chatting with Claudia and John who expertly served us. Loved the wines as usual. Both my friend and I joined the wine club this visit. We’re regulars and really enjoy the wine and the winery.

We stopped in to buy a bottle of Door Fumé and enjoy a flight on their beautiful patio. Great view of gorgeous fall colors!! We liked La Crescent as well. Everyone is so friendly. Highly recommend!

A five seems fair. Super nice facility.... not necessarily quaint but so clean. Wine flight was great with a lot of selections. We loved Nouveau Rouge. Staff. Was very helpful.

Great experience five years running now Jon was great and we realized D44is the only winery that grows their own grapes in DC that’s a deal changer for us and where we visit. Many choices but this is unique Music on patio was fantastic also

Went here for my friend’s 21st birthday and it was amazing! The atmosphere was vibrant and friendly, the staff were inviting and informational, and the wines were phenomenal. A must visit for anyone looking for a small business to support.

Not a comfortable environment. And wine was not good. And I LOVE wine! Never met a wine I didn’t like until this one.
