Doubles Beachside 1612 Hwy. A1A Satellite Beach, FL 32937 2 Stars Oh, how the mighty have fallen. When they first opened back in 1983, Doubles subs were the rage of Mel-Hi. These days, you would be considered a gudgeon if you went more than twice. The rating I gave it should probably be lower based on the items to be discussed. Perhaps nostalgia played a part in an extra star. Claudia is our server today. I found her to be extremely charming and efficient. She was the highlight of the experience. I asked Claudia for one Smash Hoagie and one Cheesesteak. Before I even get into the review, I implore you to look at the pics! Just look at them!!! First up was the Smash Hoagie. The bread was fresh and tasty, which is important in a sandwich, just as important as the filling. Speaking of which, I am fairly certain there is processed meat in there somewhere. On a personal safety note, NEVER eat the rainbow slime on Roast Beef or Grey Turkey. Ever. Other than that, it was a fine example of a Hoagie. Not. Prodding the Cheesesteak with a fork first (checking for anything off-color), I determined all at least looked fine and so proceeded to chaw off a hunk. All in all, it wasn't a bad Cheesesteak, the bread was fresh, the meat not top shelf, but not from the dregs of the food service barrel either; however, the shrooms were definitely canned. Is it really all that difficult, time-consuming, and profitable eating to slice some fresh shrooms in the morning? The Big Boy says, “Take your kids as they won't complain; otherwise, Don's Hoagies is 1000 times better than this below-average fare.” PS I anticipate people screaming about how their experience was different and this is a local icon, neighborhood favorite...yadda yadda yadda. LOOK AT THE PICS

Great prices and amazing food! Everything on their menu is delicious especially their onion rings. Love that they are dog friendly, too!

I crave Doubles weekly, I genuinely believe they have the BEST Cuban, it’s a different feel and perfectly sweet, savory and with a little kick! Now this if fact, their waffle fries are a million times better than chick-fil-a. Also give their acai bowl a try too, it’s sweet and refreshing! There’s a reason it’s been around forever the food is so dang good! ❤️

Did a to go order and the wrap that I order was covered in black ash like the flat top they used was filthy. Unfortunately i was already home 20 min away when i discovered it so couldn’t drive back there. I was hungry so i tasted it … needless to say ash is not a nice seasoning… the taste of the whole sandwich was horrendous . I wrote them on the Facebook to tell them the situation …No one reached back afterwards to rectify the situation that’s why I’m writing here to let you know. :(

Bad slow under staffed restaurant! Tables and floor are dirty! They have 8 tables and 12 stool bar and 1 waitress…absurd! We waited more then q hour for 1 salad, a sandwich and 2 orders of chicken nuggets. The water pad for the kids is super fun.

Greatest Cuban ever. The cook and the boys all dapped me up. Matt is the best and whoever made the Cuban deserves a raise. MJ is cool.

Bar food would have been a up grade rock hard cardboard shrimp an bla flavor waffle frys settings were nice people were nice kitchen needs to kick up or shut it down. For who ever cooked the food send them to the only other beach dive to learn how to cook Long doggers

For some reason they got rid of the best veggie burger on the planet, the beyond burger. 🙁

We used to love this place but it seems they’ve changed the quality of burger patties and some other items we’ve had lately are just ok. The staff is friendly. But the menu options are just ok.

Love Doubles, and you really can't go wrong with this neighborhood staple. It is an extremely popular family dining option.

Had a late lunch here and the food was very good. Service was excellent because everyone who works here is friendly, personable and helpful. The location is great; right across from the beach and near Pelican Park. Plenty of parking and lots of space. The bench sitting was quite uncomfortable but the chairs were fine. Prices were also reasonable. I'd definitely come back to try other items on the menu.

I used to frequent the old location, but ever since Doubles moved it has lost all of its charm. There is really no reason to go unless you just like the food. The inside seating is incredibly uncomfortable, the booths especially since it is just hard wood slapped together with no cushion. The outside seating is better, but with how hot it is now it has become difficult to bear. At the very least, the food is good still.

Definitely not what it used to be in IHB, but it's still doubles and I'll give it 5 stars any day. Love that you can still buy Helens deserts!! Both my sister and brother worked here during high school and I'll forever love their burger Tuesday special. Oh and all you ranch lovers out there, they have THE BEST!!!

Extended wooden tables/seats. Nice atmosphere. A little traffic noise since it's right by the side road. Enjoyed a nice lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Didn't have to wait for food. Waitress was very friendly.

I really miss the atmosphere of the original Doubles, the second location across the street, and/or even the newest location when it first opened. We went tonight and saw now you need to wait to be seated instead of walking up to order. You also have a server instead of self serving. There were no other customers inside or outside, just some at the bar outside on a Friday night. Zero using the splash pad. Completely dead. Part of the appeal of Doubles used to be the casual walk-up ordering and sitting where you want, plus the games and tvs. It used to have more of a sports bar feel with lots people and sports games on inside. Even though we were the only ones in there, we were seated in the back by the bathrooms. One couple came in as we were leaving and they were told they could sit wherever they wanted, so there is no consistency with the seating. Lots of sections were roped off with caution tape and there were big drying fans on the floors. The tvs were cycling through the screensaver for Roku with nothing on. We had three different people waiting on us throughout the short dinner. No offer for refills. Just really disappointing. Please bring back the things that made Doubles so special in the first place! It wasn’t broken…

Make sure you ask them to say your order back to you when calling in. Chicken Tenders, Fries, and Ranch are all delicious. It’s addicting.

Here’s the deal: the food was okay, the staff was fighting valiantly, but there aren’t enough servers and it was easily 45 minutes from our order to seeing food. The inside was flooded, you had to step through puddles to get to the bathroom, and I had to go and get refills at the bar myself. The big thing is that the outdoor water fountain for the kids was dangerously slippery. I saw 2-3 kids wipe out and smack the back of their heads on the concrete.

It's always a good time when I go to Doubles. I went a few days ago and was really pleased with how Strickland was helping us out. He gave us some good recommendations, which we tried, and were great. Food is always great and the service is great too. Just wanted to give a shout out to Strickland. If I was the owner, I would be very happy to have him as an employee.

Doubles is back - and better than ever! Best place to stop and grab a quick eat while beach side! I have been going here since high school when they were at the end of the strip mall by 7-11 on south Patrick just east of Mathers Bridge!! Good food and service stands the test of time! Had the Grilled and Toasted Ace and it’s the EXACT same as I remember! Jake and Katie rock as always! Beachside Dubs!!!!!

Awkward! Late lunch, limited staff.

Not a fan of the recent changes. Used to be a favorite place to go, one of the local hangouts where you could walk to the counter, get your food and drink, sit and chill for a while. Now with the "full table-side service" it just feels like a restaurant where you go, eat and are expected to leave, so as to free up the server's table. Food quality was less favorable then I remember but double the price. They charge for everything they possibly can now. The vibe is not what I remember it being, laid-back, relaxed. It just felt off. All good things come to an end as they say.

Awesome sweet potato fries with their special maple dip. Cheeseburger was also good.

This restaurant made the foolish political choice not to carry Anheuser Busch products. I’ll never go here again and neither will the people who were with me.

No bar, limited menu, limited beer selection. One trip was enough for us.

Went and ate in 2 days ago and was very happy with all the good and workers were very friendly so we ordered again today to pickup and all the food was delicious again. Highly recommend 👌 👍

Thought this place was the perfect spot for families until we realized the water court is only open 10:30-11:30 and then 3:00-9:00. We stopped for lunch with a very excited toddler only for them to tell us they couldn’t press the button to turn the water on while we ate. We left. It doesn’t really seem like they care about earning your business.

Food was mediocre at best. But the table was the dirtiest piece of trash. It is not "character" it is not "ambience" it is straight "DISGUSTING" be a responsible business owner and paint your tables or spend some money on outdoor wood and still seal it so it is cleanable. In excusable. With the setting and location you want this place to be good. Nope, not good. Food was trash. Hot doog would be described a soggy meatish tube, hockey puck burgers and a bunch of fried stuff cooked in old oil. Toppings and garnish were fresh and presentable. You should laminate your menus too.

I have ate here numerous times and have always LOVED the service & food. Today however was not good. I order my cheesesteak with grilled mushrooms & onions. I got a cheesesteak with all kinds of peppers and nothing on it that I ordered. I called and they said they will make me another one. I advised I am already back at work. "Sorry". Thats all I got. Not, how can we fix this for you? or anything! I'm just flabbergasted.

The original Doubles is awesome. This location was not the same at all.

Best grilled chicken sandwich on the Beachside! If they will re-open their indoor dining and a add a small arcade like the old doubles, they will be fantastic! Also, could use some potted plants or something to act as a buffer from the road in the outdoor dining area. BEST GRILLED CHICKEN SANDWICH!

Love our Doubles Beachside. Our kids are always excited to go here. Jake and Katie run a great family restaurant. It used to be good.

Came here with my family and it was the four of us and the bill ended up being less than $40 bucks. The outside patio area is really nice and maintained as well as the dining which is still not opened and the restrooms. Ordered chicken tenders onion rings and a bacon cheeseburger the food was so good and well portioned for what it is that you pay. Service was awesome and they were great with my little one too this place is well worth the visit will definitely be back again.

It is a great, beachy restaurant just outside of the craziness of Cocoa Beach strip. Dog friendly. Outside seating and local brews on tap. The food was delightful & excellent service. Outdoor games too.

Have not successfully been to the new location since they moved. Was a semi-regular at old location, but after the move Covid hit & every visit to new location was closed. Saw outside seating but never could connect when they were open. Wondered why inside dining was never available & thought they were failing inspections. Stopped this week on a total fluke 4 lunch & got a table outside OMG the Smash, which I always loved, was just as good as it used to be! Server said closures were always due to staffing challenges...I'll be back!

Good food and friendly service and the pop is amazing and the warm breeze outside it is kind of noisey though but that doesn't matter the beautiful beach and park next to it and I recommend this place and it's served very fast.

Food is always hot, and fresh. Employees are overworked at times making it difficult to get your check and pay especially if you are on your lunch break and need to get back to work.

I used to come here a ton when I was younger, but this is the first time since I stopped eating meat. The veggie sub was pretty bad. Generous with the guacamole, but it tasted like a non-veggie’s version of a veggie sub. Sort of random ingredients that don’t come together for a cohesive flavor. It was like salad toppings plus a ton of guacamole. The fries were great, service fantastic, and my dad loved his cheesesteak sub! I’d try it again and get the veggie burger instead. Will update review if I try that.

This is a great spot to stop and have a beer and some food after a nice day at the beach. I had the burger and it was very delicious. The staff are friendly and helpful. We rode our bikes to the beach and sat at the bar to order drinks and food. They have indoor and outdoor seating and the prices are very good. Highly recommend!

My hamburger was some kind of unrecognizable meat and when we asked for rare he said it out to us Raw.! The onion rings were Brown and I'm just so disappointed I loved the old doubles food. I hope that they get some better products and a better cook

Very cool and chill place to hangout and have lunch. Good people all around from staff to patrons. My new crave has been for the buffalo wrap and cheese fries. Lately I have been a big fan of the roast beef sandwich xD

We usually order take away, the food is always incredible, with outstanding service. This was my first time ordering from the bar. The atmosphere is so relaxing, always fast service with great food! Definitely a place everyone should try. Their hamburgers and grilled chicken sandwiches are the best I've ever had, and the fries AMAZING!

Seriously some of the best waffle fries ever on earth. I love their hoagies but I will say their cuban is just mediocre so don't go there for that. Their chili is also pretty good. It's a nice environment and the employees have always been nice so it means they are most likely treated well. One of my favorite places in town to go.

Went for a nice lunch with my family with 3 young children. They were super friendly and helpful. Everything came out quickly and was cooked perfectly. Will be back for sure. 11/01/22

Doubles Beach side has been our families go to restaurant since we moved beachside. Their food is always fantastic. The speed of their drive thru is absolutely legendary. The staff is so amazing and friendly. Even through COVID they have been able to remain open and crank out amazing food. If you have not had their wings....stop what your doing and get some asap. Amazing!!!!

So apparently after reading some of the other reviews inside dining has not been around for a So it's sit out in the heat The food was mediocre at best 1.25 for a side of sauce that was basically durkys mixed with butter I had the wed special the beef on the cheese steak was dried out from sitting in liquid And zero flavor Honestly I'll never go back And definitely will tell my friends Not to bother

Good food, good service, great prices!

I asked for the Havana wrap with the sour cream on the side because I don’t want a heavy handed amount inside. However, I got my wrap with the sour cream STILL INSIDE. They did give a side container but noticed a charge on my receipt. I was charged $1.25 for the “extra sauce” when that’s not what I ordered or how I even worded it. I was charged extra for nothing. The price for a meal for one is already over $10 so I’m not happy with the $1.25 additional charge. I’m left to write a review because I do not have time in my lunch break to drive back to inform them and request a refund. This isn’t the first time there have been little mistakes like this but they keep happening to me lol. The food is great for what it is but I’m getting tired of my order not being right.

Such a disappointment compared to the old place which had a sports bar + family vibe with nice separation of the two sections. For some reason there's no inside seating - just outdoor. So you have the unpleasant combination of the heat of a summer day with little kids screaming in the splash area. Feels like a poolside restaurant at a Orlando kiddy tourist hotel. Food is still good for takeout but I would eat in the winter if the limited seating isn't packed and the splash area is quiet. Would certainly up my review if they opened up the indoor seating or had a second outdoor bar without a kids play place 20 feet off the bar.

Not a bad place, but the dining room is currently closed, leaving you to outside seating and what feels like pool-side food options.

Food was excellent. Everyone in our group was happy with their selection. Service was also great. Glad we stayed, but almost left upon walking in because the outdoor dining tables look so gross and "seasoned" shall we say? We sat at the bar which was a cleanable surface and enjoyed everything. Would highly recommend resurfacing the picnic tables.

I can only speak to my meal. I had the butterfly shrimp and sweet potato fries. The shrimp, I'm pretty sure was from frozen. Pretty lackluster. The sweet potato fries were pretty tasty though! Only thing that was upsetting was the sauce I paid extra to have. It's a cream cheese, honey, cayenne sauce. Had great potential, but the cream cheese wasn't mixed it. I don't know about you, but eating a sauce with curds in it is not appealing. I even showed the waitress and all she said was, "oh ick, looks like someone didn't mix it well." And then walked off. And yes, I was charged for a sauce that was made poorly. I won't ever go back to this place.

Turn the splash pad on when families are there. Time frames for a splash pad make no sense. When are families there? Turn it on.

Got the wrong order and Apple Pay didn’t work (friend Paid with Apple Cash) it went through, paying with a actual card under my Apple Pay did not work. Don’t order hoagie not good, burger was great! Price was awesome. GET A NEW APPLE PAY SCANNER YOU COULD’VE GOT A 5 star.

Doubles is a regular favorite lunch stop for tasty mini-cheese burgers. Their staff if generally good and nice. And the offer a drive through pickup window and safer outdoor dining during the ongoing pandemic. My one suggestion is that they split and separate their large outdoor table to accommodate more parties.

Waited 20 minutes just to get drink order. Never came back for food order. Requested check and left. Was sitting at the bar right on front of them walking back and forth. Took the girl 5 minutes to get my drink that was right in front of her. 1st and last time coming here. Terrible service!

Cheap, good, and fast. Nothing too fancy but easy spot for lunch or dinner.

Best cheese burger and waffle fries I've ever eaten. The wings are delish too. Can't wait to try the fried shrimp!
