I was impressed with the menu that caters to all tastes, and though my order was a bit complicated, the staff, especially the sweet baristas, handled it with grace and efficiency. I had the pleasure of chatting with the mom, who proudly shared the family tree of baristas working together. It's heartwarming to see such a close-knit family running the show, and it certainly adds to the shop’s charm. Each of the kiddos working there was not only sweet but attentive, ensuring my drink was crafted to perfection every time. Their smiles and enthusiasm made the experience even more enjoyable. Whether you're just passing through or looking for a cozy spot to unwind, the Downtown Coffee Shop is a must-visit. With great coffee, delicious ice cream, and a welcoming family vibe, it’s truly a lovely spot to enjoy a moment of bliss. I can’t wait to return!

Wowzers!! This coffee shop is architecturally beautiful, the employees EXTREMELY kind, polite, & patient, and the drinks are perfection!!! So many options to choose from, it's unbelievable!! The first day I stopped I ordered a lavender vanilla latte (hot) and my sister ordered a lavender lemonade. We were both blown away! Delicious!!!! The next day we came back, I ordered a watermelon smoothie with energy added and my sister had the apple pie ice cream and another lavender lemonade. My smoothie was sooo sooo good! Employees absolutely nail the recipes for the drinks! There is plenty of seating at the shop, lots of games to choose from if you want to sit and hangout, and dogs are welcome here (yay!) There is also an area of the store where they have various items for sale, like campfire games, books, journal, coffee mugs, and more. I wish this was closer to me so I could go every single day! If you are in the area, do yourself a favor and make a stop at this amazing shop!

Quick cup of coffee, no food, can't give 5 stars. But I liked the place and the staff was well above average. Nice time.

The coffee was very good and the staff was friendly and helpful. There are a number of books and boardgames to engage in while visiting. The decor is interesting and warm. It's a little tight in the area of placing and picking up orders. We also ordered cookies and the were not good. The kids ate them, but the adults took one bite and couldn't eat any more.

Excellent little shop! So much to choose from, fast and super friendly service, with a great atmosphere! And unlike their competitors in the area such as the Coffee shop in Sloan they are service dog friendly AND serve pup cups! Thank you for always being great.

Might be the creamiest ice cream I've ever had and I've had alot of ice cream in my life. Scoops are small for the price but it helps with calorie count I guess and the taste still rates 5 star. Young workers kind of slow, but deliberate and careful with your order. Nice little book den and board games for younger customers. Very thoughtful.

Went here with my sister while I was visiting her. They make awesome Lavender coffee. My sister ordered it so I don't remember the exact name. The staff is very friendly. The atmosphere is very comfortable and inviting.

This place is so nice!!! Stopped in for a great frappe and a delicious muffin. Checked out the 1st farmers market in the back, oh my, some great things to be had!!!! Park in the back and enjoy your visit!!!

Great place I felt like to a cafes in much bigger cities. Best way is to were you can mural from which is also cool place. Very impressed!! If you like quality!!!

I have no idea why I have not come into Downtown Coffee and Cream before today! The interior of this establishment is adorable and cozy! The variety of ice creams made me wish that I had more room to eat the different ice creams that were available. I will definitely be back in the future to try their other options. We also ordered coffee which was prepared to my expectations. There were a variety of options for drinks and I will be back to try those as well! Do not miss out on this gem in downtown Onawa.

Such a great place for a small town!! Great coffees of all kinds, great ice cream! They even have a fabulous patio in the back where they sometimes hold concerts!!

Downtown Coffee and Cream in Onawa, IA. Photos are of indoor seating, kids nook with books and little toys, the counter with owner, Shawna. Only been open on the widest street in the USA for about a month. Hand scooped ice cream, shakes, malts, and coffee drinks with a variety of flavor syrups available. The black cherry and burnt butterscotch ice cream were delicious. Friendly staff and tables are just right for game night. "Off street" parking and clean restroom. Perfect spot to take a break while out exploring the Loess Hills or following Lewis and Clark.

Some of the best coffee I’ve ever had. All of the employees were extremely nice and had amazing customer service, would definitely recommend trying it.
