10/10 experience. The food was phenomenal.

Tried to go here at 2 pm for drinks with my friends. Nope! If you aren’t eating a meal, they don’t want you here. We would have spent over $100 in drinks but they weren’t interested. We went up the road to the Old Salty Dog, which was more welcoming!

The food was mediocre at best, and you can't subsist on the view alone.

Great water front view, whether you're inside or out. The food is fresh and awesome, and I'm looking forward to going back.

Best blackened red snapper I've ever had. The seasoning was awesome. Citrus Grouper, lobster trails& crab cake were all excellent.

The place is amazing, food quality was top notch. The only thing was the service not the greatest and took very long time to serve the food. The waiter literally told us he is very busy with multiple tables so it will take long to take the order and serve it.

Food was really good , had a pretty view and the waiter was very nice.

Went there with my wife before her surgery, we usually have 3-4 beers with dinner, we each had 2 and split a drink ordered soup and bread, wanted 2 more beers waiter says you can't have anymore alcohol unless you order food, we were going to order food but he insinuated we were drunk, we said on 2 beers your nuts so we left, and still spent 50.00 bucks.

My husband and I celebrated our 18th anniversary here on the 1st night of our vacation. It was as wonderful an experience as we were hoping for! The hostess seated us on the deck. I purposely chose a later reservation closer to sunset as I had heard how beautiful the view was at that hour. I cannot begin to describe how perfect it truly was. Atmosphere was spot on. Our waitress (and other staff) checked on us often, ensuring drinks were refilled, and any needs we had were taken care of. And the food was absolutely worth it! Steak cooked perfectly medium. Lobster and fried shrimp as well. Well worth the money. They offered non alcoholic beverages also. Highly recommend - our favorite place in the area for a special occasion.

Aside from a great server, very nice waterfront seating area with nice views of Sarasota from Longboat key, I had the absolute most delicious Oysters Rockefeller in a very long time! The draft was cold at it should be, and the Lobster bisque was otherworldly! Stopped here on a whim and a hunch and it paid of! Well priced and great service. The food was the absolute best!

An impeccable dining experience; this establishment is how restaurants used to be. Professionally managed, staffed and operated, from the minute we checked in with the greeter, we knew we were in for a special dining experience, and nothing disappointed! We were promptly seated outside and handed off professionally. Our waitress was on top of her game and diligently managed our table. The food was superb! The blackened shrimp were spectacular as was the Tuscan cream sauce. We will be sure to return the next time we are in the area - thanks for a wonderful evening!

The food was pretty good..the scenery was divine. You could tell it was the end of our server's shift and he would rather be anywhere else than at our table.

Hands down the best spot in Longboat Key. The service is fantastic! They are very welcoming. Loved their lobster bisque, it was absolutely amazing. I had their salmon and it was perfect. No one at our table had a bad dish, everything tasted great. Also, that Key Lime Pie was on point. I highly recommend this spot.

Our dinner here was phenomenal! We shared a bowl of lobster bisque and both got pasta dishes for dinner and they were so tasty, some of the best food we’ve had on the island. The atmosphere of the restaurant over looking the water made for a wonderful evening, can’t wait to come back!

Worst meal I have had in a while. The view was great, but the food was terrible. Broccoli was completely plain. Not even salt. Rice was awful. Fish mediocre at best. Save your money.

Beautiful place with amazing staff and customer service. The view it beautiful. The bay smell a little disgusting, but still with it!

It used to be much better, but unfortunately it has worn off. Smaller portions and the service is atypical for the USA. There are plenty of other restaurants, much better.

Really enjoyed my experience at Dry Dock. Despite not having a reservation, we were seated immediately and they were able to honor my request for a view of Sarasota Bay. Service was excellent - our server provided great recommendations and frequently checked on us to make sure we were okay. The food was delicious. Overall, I highly recommend and will be back.

Great food, great atmosphere, top notch!! We gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because we made a reservation and still waited an hour past the reservation time even though we showed up 15 minutes early.

Enjoyed a great lunch with the family here. Nice facility and view. Very quick and super friendly service. I enjoyed the Citrus Grouper and would recommend. Follow the sign to the parking lot around back. Definitely worth the trip..

Very rude staff women for an event

We were so glad we tried this place after doing a simple Google search for restaurants on Longboat Key while on a weekend getaway. We arrived around 6:15pm and the place was packed. We didn't have a reservation so our wait time was a little over an hour. Once seated, our view was gorgeous, our server was a delight, and the food was amazing! My husband and I agreed the Red Snapper was the best we've ever had (we had it blackened since our waitress said that was the most popular)! We also tried the bacon wrapped scallops as an appetizer - delicious! I highly recommend giving them a try!

Great location and atmosphere especially up on the top floor by the window. Food is good by Sarasota standards (frozen and mass produced Sysco style), seafood I imagine is fresh and local though.

Best dining experience in Longboat! Outdoor seating is fabulous right on the water. Food and service were excellent! Get the bacon wrapped scallops for an app you won’t be sorry!

The food, the service and the spectacular place, very good and delicious, all very very satisfied.

My family had dined there before. Easy to understand why they wanted to return! We enjoyed a beautiful day and the view at an outdoor table. David was so pleasant and took great care of us. We started with a delicious fruit drink and I enjoyed the lobster bisque, then grouper tacos with great black beans and yellow rice. The only problem is, no room for dessert and when will I be able to get back there? Thanks for a great experience!

This restaurant is located on the water connected to a dry dock. The views are fantastic especially from the second floor dining area. The food and drinks are on the higher end but worth the price once you actually get a taste. I ordered the bourbon glazed salmon and it was fantastic. Highly recommend the restaurant for an upscale dinner night

First time visit after living in Venice for 30 years. Beautiful view and the food exceeded expectations. We started with the coconut shrimp which were perfectly paired with a pina colada sauce. My wife had the seafood pasta with the Tuscan sauce which she loved. I had the citrus grouper and can honestly say that it is the best I’ve ever had anywhere.

Definitely overpriced for what you get. Attitude from staff and host bordering on pretentious. Hello! You aren't that level of a restaurant.

Loved check-in on the lower level. Our dining experience was super. We loved the space, the menu, the service and lack of distraction from guest checking in, and bar lounge . Highly recommend upper floor dining! Thank you so much!

Thoroughly enjoyed Dry Dock Waterfront Grill and would definitely go back. We sat out on the patio and watched a couple groups arrive by boat for dinner. Seating is available inside or out on the waterfront patio as well as at the bar. Lobster and crabcake was delicious and priced reasonably. Parking is limited in the lot and can be a little tricky. RESERVATIONS Highly Recommended. I will be back!

Good seafood ! Split grouper chowder and grouper dinner . Server gave us both a house salad and free dessert . Sat upstairs and had nice view of the water . We will be back !

First time visit and with out a reservation. Thank god it was still kinda early around 4ish, only waited about 20 minutes. Food was AMAZING! The calamari was the best I’ve ever had. Would definitely recommend making a reservation. Also, Thank you Adrian, the drinks 🍹 were 🔥 and service was great.

Our server messed up 3 different times, but made up by comping dessert (1 item among 3 people), Had a 45- minute wait, as they had no record of our reservation. The food was good, not great, but the view was excellent. For seafood, we prefer The Crow's Nest in Venice.

The food was very good. The oysters were outstanding! Waterfront views make this a very nice lunch and dinner spot.

Wife and I waited 45 minutes for a table no problem. It's when you get to the table and wait 20 minutes and no one even acknowledges us. We were going to bring a large party of big spenders here for an Anniversary dinner and this was the test to see if it would be the right place. FAIL ON ALL FRONTS! Can't comment on the food because we left hungry and disgusted! Also the parking situation SUCKS!

Too much blackened seasoning on the food and way too many flies outside when you're trying to eat your meal. It was ok.

His is always a must stop when we come to longboat. Didn’t disappoint. We came twice this trip. First time with a 4:30 reservation and second time walked in on a Saturday night around 6:00. We had a 45 min wait. Hung out and watched the boats. I got the linguini grouper with Tuscan garlic cream sauce both times. Amazing! Husband got the blackened grouper, also excellent. The shark lady drink was excellent as well. Amazing taste!

This was a great place right on the water! Sit outside! It was a bit windy but worth it! Our server was excellent. We were a party of 11 and they accommodated us without a reservation - but we did go at 5pm. You can make a reservation for smaller parties.

Excellent location, good food, and reasonable price makes this place a superb choice especially since it is on the island.

Dry Dock is a must visit for us when we are in the area but on this visit we came for lunch after my daughter's wedding on Lido Beach. We had a gorgeous semi-private table overlooking the water--beautifully set as always. We added guests at the last minute and the team there made it super easy. I think our server's name was Erin and she was awesome! We kept her running and she smiled and joked with us the whole time. As always the food--top notch. Highly recommend the grouper tacos and of course the coconut shrimp with pina colada sauce. The surprise key lime pie for the newlyweds was the perfect ending. THANK YOU all for making a special day even more special. :-)

Visited this past Sunday for the first time, absolutely beautiful views, service and food were great as well. Had the blackened Salmon and the coconut shrimp and they were delicious. Will be bringing the family by so they can try it as well. Thank you for a great experience!

You can't beat the atmosphere and the view plus the food and service is amazing.

We met friends for a late lunch on Sunday, Father’s Day. It was very busy. We did make reservations for 4:00PM and we were able sit outside by the water. Our waiter was very good. Everyone was very pleased with their dishes. The Peel n Eat Shrimp were very good as were the Fried Lobster Bites and Shrimp Tacos. It was a very nice setting despite the crowd.

Tasty non pretentious food. Meals come with with salad, veggie, and startch which compared to other like restaurants with sides being ala carte. Great atmosphere with beautiful bay views. Service was amazing. Had the citrus grouper which was great and I'm not a huge seafood eater. Would recommend for any one looking for a great meal, great atmosphere, without being too fancy

Went with family last weekend. We have been to Dry Dock many many times in the past, we were welcomed at the front, no problem, bar service was crowded and still attentive. Once we got to our table upstairs our waitress was not as pleasant as in the past, I asked if she had crayons just to keep the only child at the table occupied, and she laughed at me and said "uh, no". She rolled her eyes if any of the family members asked questions, and this time we must say the food was not up to the usual standards. The scallop/lobster pasta was dry and very small pieces of seafood. My salmon was a bit dry and it was put directly on my salad(like I always get) but this time my salad was totally wilted. We understand a server having an off day, but food quality should be consistent

We went to Dry Dock for dinner in vacation. I had the linguini with shrimp and Tuscan cream sauce. It was by far the best pasta dish I have ever eaten. It was even delicious warmed the next day. Dry Dock is a must go to restaurant in Longboat Key, FL.

An unforgettable meal at Dry Dock Waterfront Grill. Our first time trying this place and it did not disappoint. Everything we ate was delicious. I would highly recommend the grouper bites and bacon-wrapped scallops as appetisers. The atmosphere and service were also fantastic.

We live in the area. Unfortunately, this restaurant pulls the CLASSIC strategy of serving mediocre, BLAND food, and charging premium prices due to location. My snapper had ZERO seasoning/spices/or flavors. The sides? Steamed or boiled potatoes, and steamed or boiled squash, zucchini, and carrots. WHY would you do this to vegetables when you can grill them and get such beautiful caramelization and flavor? No pride in their food, it’s a profit only model. They get away with it because the location is beautiful. If you’re traveling to the Sarasota/Bradenton area, just keep in mind that, generally, the closer you get to the water, the worse the food will be. It’s unfortunate, but it’s the truth. On the upside, our server Alex, was very nice and attentive to our needs.

Probably the best restaurants on longboat. And likely one of the best in the surrounding Sarasota area. I come here every year that I come to longboat, which has been every year for the past couple decades. Great place and great service.

We had no reservation, around 2 in the afternoon, but we're seated at the best table waterside. Large canopies provided enough shade, and fans moved the air to make dining outdoors in Florida June very nice. Service was prompt and friendly. We were informed that there were no daily specials and that the grouper and snapper were caught in local waters. We both opted for the shrimp tacos. Presentation was great...2 shrimp STUFFED soft shells topped with lettuce and tomato. A small side of yellow rice and black beans was perfect. Will definitely go back and have already sent friends there for a great meal at a beautiful location.

Stopped in for lunch after an afternoon at Mote Aquarium and could've asked for a better lunch! We got salads and this lobster bisque, which was amazing! Every waitress/waiter was attentive and quick to get us drinks and our food when it was completed! I highly recommend anyone needing lunch after Mote Aquarium to come here!

cmon dry dock WHY!! I love you, but this dining experience was 2 thumbs down.. 1) the food was incredible 2). Sat @ high top in bar area. bar tender didn't came to table 20 minutes later, we ordered water & had to wait another 20 minutes. then after a long wait took our order. the night dragged on. we were so tired by end of meal. we dined on a Wednesday evening. we will not sit in bare area again. food was good like usual,

Great atmosphere and waterfront views. Inside and outside dining. A bit of a wait but we'll worth the wait. The Florida flounder was fantastic. Prices about normal for finer dining.

Eating lobster and crab cakes while enjoying breathtaking water views is exactly what I was looking for. The service was excellent and I look forward to returning.

Me and my family went there for lunch, the food was very good, the view from the outside sitting area was great, the attention from our server Valentina was really awesome, shoutout to her for going out of her way to make me and my family feel welcomed and taken care of.

I had the two lobster tails that came with drawn butter, a salad, vegetable of the day, and french fries. Everything was delicious. My wife had the crab cake sandwich. She felt it was "pretty good" though not the best crabcake that she's ever had (Riverwinds Restaurant, in NJ is the restaurant that all other restauare judged against.) I tasted her crabcake, and I agree with her assessment. Service was stellar. (Waiter "Will"). We were seated inside, by request, upstairs. Ambiance was very nice, with a nautical decor, and plenty of windows to admire the water view. All in all, we enjoyed our lunch very much, and DO recommend this restaurant. 👌

My husband and I came for our one year wedding anniversary. We loved the views the most which most people would probably say. This restaurant had amazing service and a special ambiance that I could come back for. I got the seafood pasta and my husband got the citrus grouper. We liked the food, but it wasn’t amazing. I think I’m a little picky and so is my husband. I would still come back just for the views and ambiance. Long wait times if you want to sit on the patio so we decided to sit inside and we got a table really fast.

Dinner was great, I had the snapper, my husband had shrimp and scallops and it was delicious too! Service was great. Hint: they only reserve 60% for reservations and the other 40 is for walk ins. So if you call and they say they don’t have reservations, don’t get discouraged, you’ll only wait maybe 20-30 mins. Bar and tables in bar are first come first serve.

Wonderful place to stop for a quick lunch. Sat outside with a nice fan on us and had some grouper tacos. Both fried and blackened were amazing! We were so hungry I wasn't able to get a picture! Right on the water with boat slips right next to the dining area.

Stay away from this place. Called on Friday May 24th to make reservations for 8pm on Saturday May 25th for party of 2. Received a confirmation listing my reservation for Friday May 24th instead of Saturday May 25th. I called them again and spoke to the young lady who took my reservation to let her know the date was wrong. She apologized. I received a confirmation for Saturday May 25th listing the reservation for party of 1. I had to call them a 2nd time to let them know. No one answered but luckily she realized it and I received another confirmation which was correct. My boyfriend and I arrived at the restaurant at 7:30pm the host gave us a buzzer and said we can wait anywhere we like and sit at the bar. We both got drinks. I ordered the pomegranate martini it tasted like Nyquil. It was absolutely the worst drink I ever had. My boyfriend got a beer which was a safer choice in my opinion. We decided to wait out in the back. It was 8:05pm and I went to the host to ask how much longer for a table he responded and said should be ready any minute. So I waited and waited and waited, there were plenty of empty tables. It was now 8:30pm so I decided to approach the host in the back and he said we were next. Bottom line we never got seated and were being given the run around. Very disappointing.

Consistently good food & service. Price point is a bit high but worth the quality.

Good place to eat. Be advised getting there is a bit confusing. The restaurant shares the same building as a boat storage facility. And the turn from the main road is easy to miss if you're not looking for it. But you're right on the water.

Went there on a Saturday evening, without a reservation. We were told that there would be an hour wait. The bartender suggested some great drinks and we enjoyed them outside, in a nice seating area. When the pager went off, we were starving. The server was great, very attentive. He brought bread right away and refilled our drinks. We ordered the bacon wrapped scallops as an appetizer. You get 5 and they were delicious. We ordered pasta, grilled grouper, grouper tacos and lobster roll with lobster bisque. All were great, but we couldn’t wait to leave. We were eaten alive by “noseeums. It’s been 4 days and we are still covered in hundreds of bites. I have never been so itchy. Per other reviews this seems to be a problem there. They need to spray the outdoor lanai or cage it. If we go back, I will only dine inside.

I’d call it basic nursing home fare. Unseasoned and lukewarm. We asked for non dairy for a friend with an allergy and were told it wasn’t an option. After discussion with management, they agreed to make a dish without butter. The drinks were nice and the wine prices were reasonable. Nice views and our second server was wonderful. Definitely not worth the $160 worth of Uber rides to get there.

Excellent service and the Seafood Pasta with the Tuscan Sauce was Excellent! Plentiful, tender crab, lobster and shrimp. Would definitely order this delicious dish again.
