Im going to keep this short and simple. This place has very subtle racist undertones. It felt very, jim crowish and unwelcoming. For the price, the food was mediocre at best. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone. But especially to any African Americans from Spartanburg . Don't spend your money here. Go where you're celebrated and your money is appreciated. Trust me when I say, "Black people know when things aren't right racially. We live with it every day of our lives .

This place is truly a diamond in the rough, that is Spartanburg.. my family and I have been enjoying this place since its opening over a decade ago. Dudley’s is the epitome of the customer service and appreciation of diversity that we revere in the South. The flavors and culinary experience that are offered here are a staple in our community and are priced appropriately. It is family owned through and through and represents the lower state and upper state traditions that we love in South Carolina. Whether you are from out of state, visiting, or local, Dudleys is family.

Great place to go if you want amazing food. This place should be way more popular. It’s a hidden gem but don’t come expecting chain store pricing. They charge what it’s worth.

We were in town for our daughter’s sporting event. Looked up restaurants near and by luck picked Dudley’s. Boy are we happy we did!! Hostess was super friendly, our waitress was awesome and food was amazing!! Highly recommend. We will definitely be back next time we’re out there.

We experienced an amazing evening with excellent service at the bar. We recommend the ribeye steak , homemade onion rings and fish and chips.

This was a fantastic dinner. Will was a phenomenal waiter who took the time to tell us the history of Dudley's and was very attentive to our questions. The oysters were delicious. I really hope the twice baked potato becomes a regular side because phenomenal. The ribeye and bordelaise was fantastic. The hickory smoke and pepper were complemented beautifully by the sweetness of the bordelaise. HOWEVER, the thing I'm going to be dreaming about are those cheese biscuits. Best I've ever had.

We love Dudley's! So happy that they reopened. Make reservations or plan to sit at the bar! I recommend the traditional salad and the filet. My husband enjoys the calamari and any of their entrees.

My husband and I went on a date night and we were both very disappointed in the food. I ordered the Ribeye and it was so fatty that not even half was edible and my husband had the broiled Seafood Platter and he said the food had no flavor at all!! Told our waiter I was disappointed in the Ribeye and he said with a ribeye, it is usually hit or miss!! For the amount of money spent, I expect a steak that is edible!! Definitely won’t rush to visit Dudley’s again!!

Been there three times since the reopening. This has become one of the best restaurants in the upstate. The buttermilk fried chicken is what dreams are made of!

Always good here. Sit at the bar and watch all the cooking going on. Friendly staff. Hardest working bartenders ever. You won't be disappointed with a nice steak.

Was not impressed, with the new opening, the fish platter was small for $18.00 got 3 small pieces of fish. Not like last time I was there in the past when they were opened. I got 3 sometimes 4 huge Pieces of fish. Not this time. there was overcooked and dry. The french fries were limp and not cooked all the way And mushy the she crab soup was just terrible It was a bowl of milk, Very little crab meat for the price. I miss the old place. I get times a tough. But raising prices and lowering quality of food not cool.

There service was spot on but the food was not worth the money. A $42 ribeye came with a pool sauce that over powered the steak. A good steak doesn't need any kind of sauce.The scallops and oysters were really fresh but the steaks aren't with the money.

Wow! What a place to eat. The food was awesome. The service was great. The atmosphere was really loud. The plate is really small. The price of the food is really high. My wife and I went there for her birthday. We knew it was expensive. But, it is okay every now and then to treat yourself. They brought us house rolls to eat. They will make you want to slide your mama. I got an appetizer, Palmetto cheese fries. I love them, but my wife did not care for them. My wife got a salad and a steak. She asked for a medium well steak. It came to her medium rare. But, they made it right. I got the seafood alfredo with a loaded baked potato. It was amazing! I will go back on a special occasion.

Great place, for date night. It was our first time there. We both enjoy it. Our new friend Altrim did a great job servering us. Hats off to him.

Waited over a hour for our steaks. Wasn’t even that packed. Wife ordered the hanger steak to be cooked to medium. I ordered the ribeye and cooked to medium rare. Her steak came out still moo’ing. The rarest steak I’ve seen yet. Looked cold on the inside. Upon seeing the steak she got grossed out and lost her appetite. My steak was cooked decently but didn’t taste like a $34 steak should. Should’ve costed like $18 tops. Anyway horrible experience as you can read. Honestly really disappointed with this place I feel robbed of my time and money.

Dominique was our server and woh, she was super attentive and polite and the food was just so scrumptious, I felt so welcomed. I'm visiting from New York and I couldn't be happier at any other restaurant.

Best steak and salad I ever had! Food and atmosphere is always good. Had to wait for like 10 mins just for someone to come and ask for drinks. Yes we were already seated. Drinks were amazing!

Place is okay. I honestly think it's a little overpriced for the quality. For a quality, cooked to perfection ribeye or a filet I wouldn't have any problem paying $40. But this hasn't been the case the last few times I've been. The drinks are very good. The service is hit and miss I'm afraid to say. 12 years ago, the restaurant was so much better!!!

The quality has went down and the prices went up. Yes I know they have to pay higher prices but they increase price to the customer so they can keep the quality. That's not what they've done.

My husband and I will definitely come back. Food was delicious!! The pimento cheese fries were yummy!! My husband had the Ribeye and I had the Seafood Fettuccine.

We have been to Dudleys many times. Tonght I ordered what I usually do....seafood Alfredo. At $38 one would expect it to be outstanding. But it fell very short ...3 shrimp and 2 scallops is all it contained. TERRIBLE. We won't go again. They are more proud than they deserved. We complained and all the waiter said was, "do you want a box?" Seriously? I couldn't even eat it. So $109 later we left hungry and unhappy. Shameful. Really. NEVER AGAIN.

Great restaurant. It has been hard lately finding restaurants to give 5 stars to, so its a relief to find a Dudleys. The food was great, but not inexpensive. It doesn't feel overpriced because you get to have a nice EXPERIENCE. There was so much hustle and bustle at Dudley's that you felt like you were in the most "happnin' spot" in town. It's fun there. It's loud so it creates a lot of energy. And the food was great. My filet mignon I would rate a solid 5. No bones about it. (no pun intended) Not only was it cooked perfectly but it had a lot of flavor. Everyone else in the party loved their food. And they give you some great Biscuits before the meal. They're fantastic. Service? 100% totally on point. Our server was friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and hardworking. The next time I go back, I hope to feel good about my 5 star review. But they've earned any slack necessary from me should a standard drop because of how high they held it last night. Update: I have been back 2 more times. Even got the Filet Mignon a second time. Wow; it was just as good as I remember. The third time I visited I got the Buttermilk Chicken which was awesome for such a LOW PRICE selection. I think it was only $16. So, yes, my initial 5 star review has been ratified two more times. This place is solid.

I was seated outside my choice, waited for over 20 minutes still no, Welcome, or what can I get you to drink, no acknowledgement. Nothing! I get up and go inside very politely address the host, of the situation. From the reaction she cared less, no getting the manager, just looked at me asking" DO YOU WANT TO SIT INSIDE", as if i didn't make a complaint. Not even a "My Apologies for that " I FELT like it made no difference if I stayed or left. So I left.

Unique atmosphere, and mouth watering food. Every time my husband and I visit we know we’re going to have a great meal and drinks. Very accommodating and friendly. Service is always top notch from the host stand to the servers and bar tenders. Consistency is key and is one the best ways to describe Dudley’s.

Went and had Excellent service tonight from Antrim & the team at Dudleys. Scallop App is always delicious, nice and plump. Also, the Grouper special is a banger as well. Trey has done an excellent job leading his team there, thru the Pandemic. Nice & clean, all salt & pepper shakers are sanitized & wrapped after every customer. Cleanliness is of paramount importance as my wife is pregnant. Thank y’all we appreciate the service & hospitality.

Well, I was so looking forward to an enjoyable evening out since it’s rare at the moment. My husband and I had reservations, got seated right away and got our drink order in (tres important) but then everything came to a stop! After about 30 minutes our drinks were long gone and so was our waiter. ☹️ 45 minutes later we asked for our waiter and had to inquire about our next drink order AND our food. His response was “oh, has it been awhile”. For real. Long story short, dinner arrived 1 hour after we ordered, drinks had to be asked for and I was a wee bit disappointed. I understand that staffing is short but either don’t seat as many customers or at least be up front about how long the food will take. Cute place, food was good but definitely not worth an hour wait. .

I’ve heard great things about Dudley’s so my wife and I had dinner for our annual Christmas date night. The atmosphere and vibe are great. Service and overall staff were very good. Drinks and appetizers came out fast. The waiter told us the lasagna special entree would take 45 minutes to arrive at the table. Instead we ordered the hanger steak and crab legs. 60 minutes later we asked where our food was. About10 minutes later our food arrived. It was excellent , and I am happy with the food. I wish the waiter would have told us the kitchen was stressed, the communication failed.

Sit at the bar and everything is perfect

We are fairly new to Spartanburg and have been venturing out to find the hot spots in the area. We were very pleasantly surprised by Dudley’s! The actual restaurant is almost easy to bypass because of where it is situated. It has a very beautiful and welcoming entry with lots of outdoor seating. The inside is cozy with lots of original artwork. Our server, Altrim, was super friendly and attentive. He made great suggestions and made us feel very welcomed. We got some great local beers to go with our food. We started with a platter of raw oysters. Perfection! I got the filet minion and roasted brussel sprouts. My spouse ordered the seafood platter (shrimp, scallops, and white fish) and pimento fries. We took dessert to go (coconut cake and peanut butter cheesecake). The entire meal was amazing! We will be back and will bring family and friends with us!

Service was very good, our server made sure we had everything we needed. The food was really good and cooked how we ordered.

Dudley’s was the most amazing dining experience in quite a while—you NEED to go here! It all started with the reservation experience—there was college football and baseball playing, so we requested a table where the TVs were in view. The hostess was so wonderful as to promise to do what she can, and she did NOT disappoint! We sat at the high-top table with the two games playing side by side right there in perfect view. Altrim was our server and he was exceptional at making sure every need was met and his anticipation of what might be needed was on point as well! The food was perfect—hot food came out hot and cold food and salads came out cold! The overall experience was perfection and we will be dining again there soon—go see Altrim and the amazing staff at Dudley’s!

Surprising find passing through Spartanburg. Pulling into the parking lot, you wouldn’t think this was a nice steakhouse, but call me fooled and pleasantly surprised. Great food and service!

We had dinner on a busy Saturday night and we wanted to point out our waiter, Mia, who was outstanding. She was right on the spot, listened to our specific needs and was very attentive despite juggling many tables. We hope the management recognizes her commitment and outstanding service.

I’ve been told for years how good this place is so I finally got to check it out. To be honest, i don’t get the hype. Tables are so close together and it’s so loud inside that I could barely hear the person next to me speaking and I was almost touching the people at the table behind me. Took at least an hour to get entrees, which was just meh and way overpriced for what you get. The best thing about the experience was the cheddar biscuits. I wouldn’t pay that kind of money for the experience again. It’s like they’re trying to be fancier than they are.

This place is absolutely great. Hip and casually classic atmosphere. I adored it before we even ordered. Our server Mia was totally awesome. The food was outstanding. Don’t let the non-description look of the building fool you. This is definitely the place to go for a wonderful meal and lovely time with spouse and or family.

My wife and I are from out of town. Not having any luck finding a place to eat I asked three guys standing in a parking lot if they knew a place. They suggested the place we just left, so that didn't work. Finally all three agreed that Dudley's would be the very next best place. Dudley's serves steak and seafood and were very busy on a Friday night. I had Fillet that was cooked perfectly to a med rare. It was delish, but the sauce left me wanting. My wife has a salad with salmon. It was a little fishy. But the She Crab soup was excellent although different than expected. Don't get me wrong, it is very good. Service was excellent! If I am ever back in town I will go back!

The buttermilk chicken was fantastic! Burgers could use a little more seasoning and the fries could use less salt. It's very original how the grill is in the middle of the bar. Overall a nice experience.
