Dunya is was one my favorite place since they were located in Alexandria and they were also our caters for the reception party for about 100 people back in May. The food was great as always and everyone LOVED the food!! We can’t emphasize the excellent service and hospitality received from everyone at Dunya. Again, their food is amazing!

I have been to this restaurant a couple of times when travelling from IAD. Both I ordered food to pick up. I did not dine in. Food is excellent, service was good, and the rice is reasonable. I would recommend this restaurant, and in-sha-Allah, I will visit again if in the area.

First time having Indian food, and they didn't disappoint.

The food is exceptional however the bald headed guy is racist towards other desi ethnicities. Rude rude rude. He frowns upon everything , from sitting to providing extra utensils or sauces. Doest’t give complimentary soups to us desis either. We went there almost 3-4 times and every time we were disappointed by this man’s service and reception.

This is the best ethnic food have had in an restaurant over the last 2 years! This is The type of food that brings the word of Alhamdu lelah from your heart as it did for me!!! I had the grilled boneless chicken thighs, boneless chicken kobab, and mantu. Everything about the food is good.. the salt, the spices, the juiciness of the meat is just perfect!! It is very rare nowadays to find a grilled meat that is nowadays. The owners and the waiters are very kind and welcoming.

This restaurant’s food is amazing! It’s my first time coming to this restaurant. My brother recommended it. I don’t know why it has a score of 3.9. It’s much better than that. We had the lamb, chicken and beef kebab, Chapli kebab, kofta, mantu and aushak. We also got complementary tea. All very delicious 🙂 Thank you, Dunya. Staff is also friendly.

I bought four pieces of Kajoor for $7 and all of them were like stone and i had to throw in the trash. They were not selling by the piece so people could not test before buying it. They were just trying to rip off the customers. Price for all the food are extremely high compared to other restaurants. I won’t recommend anyone to waste their money for rotten food.

Dunya Kabob, First and foremost, their food is yummy but small portion. However, they’re overpriced and what disappointed me was the front desk girl refused to give me a normal water. THEY DO NOT OFFER ANY WATER, except if you are buying one from the fridge. I have never seen a restaurant who do not have a water. I didn’t enjoy the food because of your behavior. I wouldn’t recommend here, until they allow to serve a normal free water and stop overpricing.

I ordered food to be delivered as a catering to my home for 25 person. I pre paid the money, the person who was in charged for catering (chief) was very rude and selfish. He didn’t even gave us the option for delivery. Luckily I canceled my order cause of his lack of good customer service. I’m requesting the management team to train him or replace with someone else in order to not losing customers!!!

Have been eating here since first opened. Food was good with great friendly service. I slowly started noticing little changes in the food, always getting better, more flavor. I would say the food has gone from good to great!

Conveniently located in a strip mall, they serve delicious foods. Try their Afghani samosas or Kabuli pulav. Finger licking good. And the friendly & helpful staff is the topping on the cake. Font forget the Mantu & Aushak Either!!

This is my second visit to this location. Both times we enjoy the food and the service. This time, when we were waiting for our ordered food, unexpectedly server came with complimentary soup. It was delicious and heatwarming. We got our food shortly and it was yummy. Enjoyed a lot. Then we pour some tea from the hot complimentary tea section. Their food was delicious, the service was wonderful, and the price was computable. Sure, I will be back again.

4.5/5 I've come a couple of times now, and had to make a review because I don't understand the overall low ratings. The food overall is delicious, but the service is why I come back! Each time I've been, the staff have always been so welcoming and so sweet. While I wait for take out orders they serve soup, and there's self serve tea. All the good vibes. The pricing is a little high, but I always get two meals out of an order so can't complain!

The best Afghan food in the area. Great flavors and well seasoned kabobs. Quabili palau is amazing tender lamb and seasoned rice with carrots and raisins. We also live the Boolonie and Sambosay appetizers. One of our favorite spots when it comes to Afghan Food. Highly recommended.

This is the BEST AFGHAN FOOD IN THE WORLD!!! The customer service is amazing! The owner brought us girls soup (AUSH) and made sure to give us extra sauce! The food is so freshly and consistently delicious!!! I would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone! 10/10 DELICIOUS!!

This Kabob place opened fairly recently in Lorton, so I decided to try it out. I ordered the boneless chicken thigh kabob and the Lamb Kebob. Both platters come with rice pilaf, spinach and Chickpeas (also a huge naan). They included a container of soup in my takeout package. The food was very tasty and fresh (I asked them to make my kebabs medium, rather than well done, so they were soft and juicy). The portions are quite large and I have managed to have at least 3-4 meals. While I waited, the owner gave me a container of soup...it was a cold day, so that was welcome. I would recommend this place. Happy to have a Kebab restaurant in Lorton.

If I lived in Lorton, I would eat here all the time! Delicious food with generous portions! The peshwari kabob and salmon kabobs were my favorite but the lamb and chicken kabobs were also good! Everything from the sides, the bread, and the soup they offer when you come in are just amazing. They also offer complimentary tea. Just can't say enough good things about this place!

Wow!!!! We were so hungry and saw this new spot. Everything was so good and fresh. They gave us a sample of some soup to try while we were waiting for our meal and it was fireeeee. We got the beef and chicken with pita, rice and it was delicious! (Deluxe kabob) So authentic and flavorful! We will definitely back! Definitely glad we gave this place a shot it was one of the better meals I’ve had since I’ve moved to this area.

Dunya Restaurant and Banquet has been around for a long time, they recently relocated to Lorton. I recently met up with a friend for an early dinner at their new location. We ordered the K8. Deluxe kabob which includes boneless chicken kabob, beef and lamb kabob and subbed the plain rice with kabuli rice (carrot and raisin topped). The order came with two sides of chickpeas and spinach. We also ordered the mantu which was delicious. They served us with a complimentary chicken noodle soup which was pretty yum. My favourite were the mantu, rice and the two sides. The accompanying mint and white gyro sauce is very delicious to dip your food in. The shami kabob was good but the chicken and lamb kabob were a little on the dry side. The service is very quick and its a casual eatery with no fuss but the food is delicious. They also had a bunch of afghan sweetmeats in the display that looked tempting. Will come back for the kabuli pulao and a different combo of kabobs next time. Dunya kabob is a must try when in the area.

Food Ok but their prices are way out of proportion - Chapli Kabab made with ground beef n chicken meal will cost you almost $30 with NO sides. NOT Recommended.

Nice place to take out or dine in some decent meals. Prices look reasonable, portions seem big. I had chicken salad and I loved it. They served some nice tomato soup for everyone to try, it was good.

The service here is outstanding. When you walk I. They make you feel like family. A everyone is welcome! The food was expertly prepared and served fast. I do recommend to all looking for a good, reasonable price meal with great atmosphere.

The food was so fresh and delicious. It’s a small, casual restaurant that serves 5 star food. I love that it is not oily or over salted. The bulaunee was baked, not fried, the lamb was tender, and the sabzi was the best I have had.

I've been here a couple times now and honestly it has left me disappointed. The portions and quality of the food has dropped significantly. The prices have gone up. I used to love going to Dunya at the original location but this place is a severe downgrade and is now just like any other Afghan fast-food.

I was taking the Autotrain via coach and always dread the food planning for dinner. No more. This place is fantastic! While the plate price point is above 20 making my lunch a little more, the value is there in both quality and quantity. I ordered a chicken kebab platter and 2 large plates hit the table. One was full of beautifully seasoned chicken, tasty spinach, spiced chickpeas, and aromatic rice. All authentically seasoned. The second plate had a large Afghan flatbread. Yogurt sauces on the table round out the dish. I eat a lot, but could only complete half. The other half accompanied me on the train for dinner. From now on, I will stop here to get the whole thing to go for the train. Highly recommend this place. If you like Indian or Mediterranean food, this will be a great experience.

We've been big fans of this place for years. We used to go to Alexandria location since 2011 when they first opened. We're loyal customers and follow them everywhere they go because it's literally the best kabob in the area. The seasoning is just right and flavors are the same authentic Afghan taste as you would expect. Nice restaurant but you’re charged twice for tips if you’re nice to them. Just check your final bill!
