The food was good, but not great. I love the location and atmosphere. They have nice outdoor seating! For the price, I'm rating it 3 stars. If the meals were $10 less, maybe 4. They should be using fresh local produce in season. The house salad was just ice berg lettuce and could be upgraded. All five of us got seafood meals which were okay. Last time I was here (many years ago), I had the beef sandwich and that was delicious.

Calamari was hot and it came out fast. The fisherman's risotto was amazing just like previous visits. If you are looking for a nice place to be, this is the spot to be at! 10/10 Recommend

I have taken my mother and grandmother here for Mother’s Day last year and had an exceptional experience. Though, after recently visiting again for lunch the food and atmosphere was great, though the service was HORRIBLE! It was late lunch time so there were only 5 tables with no more than 2-3 people at them, and service was not good. We never were checked on as we ate, and waited 30 minutes after eating to still not have our server check on us. At 35 minutes we got up to then ask for our check, which she responded she would get it to us. We watched our server and other employees sit at the bar eating and drinking. 45 minutes go by and we get up and ask for our check again and paid. Wish I did not have to leave this review, but if this is considered satisfactory customer service, that is a major disappointment.

Been coming here for years and didn’t realize they had lunch. It definitely didn’t disappoint. The shrimp tacos were delicious and the live music was a plus.

The place is nice and the view is lovely but you couldn’t mess up our dinner much more. The chicken Chesapeake was full of filling ands the asparagus were very stringy. The grouper was water logged and mushy and the crab on the grouper was flavorless and the sauce was bland. My misses got the filet and with crab and again the crab was flavorless and full of filler and the steak was tough, way overcooked and without flavor. Oh and the calamari was really tough which is a sign of poor quality. My first drink was correct but the second drink was coke instead of ginger ale. The server was pleasant and it wasn’t their fault but the hostess was very rigid and seemed irritated. I’m not sure how this place landed a 4.6 star review. They must be buying their reviews. For $200 I will definitely go somewhere else. The fries were really good.

My friend and I had dinner here last night. We were able to sit out on the patio at sunset and the view was beautiful! The service was great. Our server was attentive and the host also made sure we got drinks right away. It seems like everyone works as a team to provide a great dining experience! We had the crab dip and 2 different steak dishes as well as a lemon berry dessert. Everything was super delicious! I highly recommend saving room for dessert!!

Place has definitely decreased in food quality for the price since the last time I was here years back. Paying $160 for an “okay dinner” for TWO people on a week night date not worth it is crazy to me. Crab dip was good (basically a spinach dip with crab added on top). Drinks were tasty. Definitely “two sips & done” cocktails (smallest glasses we’ve ever had compared to many other restaurants for $13/$15 drinks). When it came to our meals we were super disappointed. Sirloin w/ TWO small bacon wrapped scallops special was all very dry. Veggies not seasoned at all. Not worth $32. Crab cake was packed with tons of filler/breading, hardly any crab, very dry, definitely not the crab cake people hope for when you say “award winning”. NY strip…have had way better steak at Texas Roadhouse for way less than $35 an entree. Was hoping steaks would be a better quality/tier for the price. Creme brûlée was good/great portion. We left expecting so much more out of this beautiful place.

We had the scallops, rice pilaf and green beans as well as the chicken breast nest. The scallops were not seared very well, the beans were overly salty, and the rice pilaf was very overcooked and sticky. The live music and service was great though but sadly the food was not quality enough to make us want to come back for that price. I would recommend if you are looking for a nice view and apps and drinks.

Drinks were slow to come out. Food was good, portions were good. Found a long hair in the spaghetti after consuming most of it. Atmosphere was loud due to large bar presence. For the price, I expected a different atmosphere than I could get in a sports bar. Probably my one and only trip there.

You have to have Jenn as your server! Wednesday, Fridays and saturdays for lunch time! She went above and beyond for us. She even made a key lime drink for me without dairy because I couldn’t have a lot of the drinks due to the dairy products, 10/10 experience all around. The sea bass with crab on top is the BEST. Even the cooks, hosts, managers and bartenders all came out and were super nice to us. This is where I would spend all mu money because the atmosphere and people are beyond amazing. As a server I look for places this accommodating and this is by far the BEST SPOT IN YORK. !!

Outstanding food! This restaurant has a great view for York County. I recommend this restaurant for a beautiful date night.

We arrive before our reservation time and they seat us right away. We order drinks and an appetizer. They came right away. That is where the good stuff ends. Waitress didn't come back to take our entrees orders for 40 minutes. Then we waited and waited. In the meantime we ordered another round of frozen daiquiris arrived 1/2 hour later melted. The food arrived after about an hour and a half. I told them to pack it up because I was too angry to eat. They comped our food and we just paid for 1 round of drinks and the appetizer. Got the food home it looked dried out. I think it was sitting out too long and they forgot it. People around us were getting food faster that came in long after we did. Short staffed is one thing but 2 hours for food is too long.

New Money Grab Uncovered! After dining at the Eagles Nest one of the couples we were dining with discovered that the amount listed on the check was significantly higher than what was listed on the menu. The waiter gave the excuse that the menus had not been updated yet. He attempted to be very forceful in having the patron pay the price on the check, not the menu. Only after being given the options of speaking to the manager, paying nothing, or paying the price shown on the menu did the waiter concede to the latter. Be sure to double check your check!

Saw a lot of bad reviews concerning new ownership of this great place. I was very pleased with my meal and the service! Jen who was the bartender and our server was FANTASTIC! My steak was cooked to perfection and the drinks and appetizers were also delicious...same as before! I would ask new owners to please please don't change martini Thursdays! It's my Thursday favorite!

We have been going here for several years and it wasn't just the food that was a retaining factor in our longtime loyalty to this place, but the view, ambiance and staff, mainly a server named Chris, who is one of the best servers I have ever encountered, and I have dined in various states and on both coasts, as well as abroad. Chris always made you feel at home, as well as a few other servers that I can't recall their names. Additionally, Eli the manager made sure everything ran with precision and was very professional. There may have been long wait times for a table in previous years, but the atmosphere, food and staff compensated for that. Even after the brief closure during the pandemic, the prices were slightly higher, but quality and service remained. Fast forward, I did hear and read within the last year about a possible change in ownership/management but thought nothing of it, as that's the reality of the restaurant business. However, a recent visit reflected that change, and not in a positive or pleasant light. Upon entry, you could tell the energy and atmosphere was different, and the few employees that were working, albeit a skeleton crew for a busy Sunday evening were stressed, overwhelmed and deflated. Came to find out that several longtime employees and the manager Eli were gone, including Chris. While the food was still good on this visit, it lacked that "legacy" Eagle's Nest flavor and presentation. Plus the initial wait time for service once seated, as well as drinks was unduly long. The server, while trying to do her job, didn't engage like the previous employees and only came back once to check on us to drop the bill. I could also tell other customers were getting impatient. Normally I am not fussy about many things, but to see such a beautiful establishment transition in a negative way is unsettling. I will come back, but don't know when, and won't go out of my way. The sad part is that there are few locally owned restaurants of this caliber in York anymore.

They have changed over the years. The BEST manager , Eli of 16+ years who spent countless hours turning the place around and getting them to a #1 ranking on Google. Once he was pushed aside and decided to quit I stopped going and then found out the old school staff quit. Its a shame. That shows HUGE RED flags there. It used to be great place years ago, but times change. I would never go back. I was told I should add the fact that I worked there for years myself and was part of the initial team when is was sold years ago. I have also eaten at every restaurant in York county and many,many more on my travels around the world and can easily check my Google reviews @roboace. It is a shame to watch an institution in York go downhill and try to change paths and get away from the people that made them successfull. Well I guess there are not many owners that take care of their employees anymore. With each long time employee leaving it is a sinking ship.As a gambling man I am willing to bet it makes less than a year before it folds. Anyone want to bet me?

Seems like a few disgruntled employees have been leaving some terrible reviews. Don't let that sway you We had dinner on a Wednesday night with two other couples. The place was busy and just like most places these days probably a little understaffed but the food was excellent and the owners very kind and gracious. Great views of York , a beautiful outside patio! Highly recommend!

The Eagles Nest has a lot of potential. The view is stunning, the atmosphere is nice, and the drinks from the bar are delicious. However, the food is not worth the price and the service is just ok. If you're looking for a spectacular restaurant experience it's not the place, but to hang out with friends for a few drinks and get bar food/apps definitely the place to go.

I took my boyfriend and son to dinner for Father's day . We had reservations and still had to wait to be seated ok no big deal . It was warm in the restaurant when we arrived; it was a relatively hot day and I was surprised by this . We get seated and look over our menus and chat and then we wait and wait and wait .. our cocktails were warm when they finally arrived from the bar. Our appetizers were barely warm and maybe that was a good thing since the restaurant was warm ? We made the best of the meh food, it was ok not awful .. when we ordered coffees and some dessert .. surprisingly the strawberry cheese cake was pretty good the coffee not so much .. no spoons however for our cream and sugar .. called it an experience ..

Food quality is sub-par compared to previous ownership. Seafood Imperial Caserole was dry and really lacked discernable seafood in it. Crabcake was dry and certainly not at a standard fitting a place so near to MD which is the heart of the crabcake realm. Hopefully overtime things will improve in taste and quality. Hostess Station needs some improvement as well especially when a windows seat for a Father's Day meal was requested but not provided due to various obtuse reasons (windows table sat unattended during our 90 minute seating).

Left a decent tip for an over priced meal . I wish I had seen the reviews .

3hr30 for a meal, crabe cake (+$20) with all kinds of fillings, 1 waitress for 20 people despite reservation, not staffed properly, average food, steak was good ($40). Disappointing.

Such a wonderful dinner, service was on point and food was amazing. Truly a great date night spot. Whitney and Rick (the owners) were running around helping bring out food and checking on how the customers were doing. Speaks volumes to many places if the owners are so willing to be apart of the team and help the staff.

This place ROCKs and in my opinion is a must try. Excellent service and food. Large portions at reasonable prices.

This has always been our “special” place. It’s under new management and it showed. The lobster tail was over done and gummy. The crab soup tasted like it was out of a can without any crab. Our server was training but very attentive . Suggestions: in such a pricy place they should ask if it’s a special occasion!

The sauce was great for shrimp and scallops however it wasn’t the right sauce for the rock fish. It felt like it was masking the taste and not allowing the fish to come through. The mashed potatoes were amazing. The service was excellent.

Beware frequenting this establishment. The new owners have mismanaged this York gem to the point that the staff has begun quitting one by one. I am sadly one of them. In my whole 35 years of restaurant experience (12 of them spent at the Eagles Nest), I have never encountered such a toxic work environment. It has literally brought the staff to tears. They want nothing but to shove customers in and out the door as fast as they can for the quick buck. Gone is what made the Eagles Nest so special. In its place are owners who will admit no wrong doing and instead have placed all the blame for customer dissatisfaction first on our wrongly fired GM, and then on the staff themselves simply for "chatting with each other". (To paraphrase what the owner has said. Our low morale, which is felt by the guests, is solely the staff's fault. That's what we were told. So yes, next time you go for dinner and don't find your favorite server, this is why. Highly do not recommend.

After almost 6 years of dedicated service, I resigned due to poor leadership. The new owners have done everything to run this once prestigious restaurant into the ground. Everything that was once built to a high standard is now washed away because new ownership is all about the profit and not the recognition of the staff you inherited to assist you. Its shameful.

The food is great. But the wait time is too long.

After 3 or 4 years of being loyal customers, our recent visit was a complete disappointment. It’s clear that the there is new management and it is failing miserably. Our first impression upon entering building the overall morale of the staff seemed low. Our waitress seemed unhappy and unmotivated, and the service was disorganized and chaotic. When we brought up our concerns, it was obvious that no one cared. The new manager, a blonde woman, was incredibly rude. She stood at the front desk with her back to us, completely absorbed in her tablet. We waited 30 seconds for her to acknowledge us, but instead, she reacted negatively to something on her screen and walked away without a word. It took two hours for our food to arrive, and the menu prices were $20 higher per entree than they were during our last visit. We requested wine menus, but our waitress informed us that the restaurant is not distributing cocktail menus at this time. That makes no sense. The hosting staff were confused and disconnected from their roles, which only added to the chaos. The dining room atmosphere was terrible, with a palpable negative energy that affected everyone, including other diners. The only improvement in new ownership I could see is larger TVs in the bar area. Everything else is a massive thumbs down. The vibe is so low that it’s affecting every aspect of the experience. We asked our waitress to get the other manager, the tall bald man who always wore a suit. She seemed rather saddened to inform us that he had recently resigned. We also found out our favorite server Chris resigned as well. Everything made sense at that point. It seems the new ownership is so bad that multiple great employees have jumped off this sinking ship. We won’t be coming back. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this place until they can figure out how to boost their staff’s morale and provide decent service again.

Lovely place I keep coming back

Just a complete disappointment. Made a reservation online, never got a confirmation so, I called in, they had nothing available. Thought we'd go early and see if they could seat us anyway, sure enough, they had our original reservation time available. Ok. Got seated. Nearly froze to death by the time the food came, it was so cold in there. Took 30 minutes for salads and appetizers and an hour for our meals, which were cold. Sent them back and got them reheated. Ordered dessert and my cake was frozen and Dad's dessert was flavorless whip cream with barely any cake. We've been here multiple times before and everything was great. Don't think we'll be back after this experience. I expect better for a $340 bill. Very disappointed.

Just had my family there for Mother’s Day brunch, and our experience was excellent. Our table was on the enclosed deck, and the view was amazing. We were able to choose from the special Mother’s Day menu and the choices were many. The meal was great, and the dessert was even better. My wife and I shared blueberry lemon mascarpone Italian cake. It was delicious !!!! That’s all my wife has talked about for the past four hours is how good that cake was. Looks like we’ll be going back and having that again. Great job to the whole crew.

on Mother's Day we had a 6:15 reservation (4). We ordered at 6:40. At 7:00 we were told that there was "No more chicken" and 2 of our dishes were chicken. We re ordered those 2 plates. Those arrived at the table at 7:35 but we realized at that time that the waitress had never put the other 2 dinners in to be made. I spoke to the owner who was going to fix this right away mentioning 15 minutes. 40 minutes later, with no dinner, we started walking to the door and were told that they were just finishing and asked us if we wanted to take what turned out to be a grossly undercooked meal "To go". This place is a trainwreck. There were others there complaining - in line - to the owner when I was about similar experiences. Poorly managed, no real understanding of why things went so badly other than to try to explain how their reservation system somehow magically double booked their tables which could have been communicated before we sat down to a 2+ hr. nightmare. Save your money and frustration and go to the Cove which is well managed, has a nice menu and is consistently great food.

It was my second time here. Full dinner. Their seafood is unbelievable! I had the stuffed zucchini. One of the best dishes I ever had. The olive tapenade and calamari wer very good. Friendly service, fun environment, great band. Great views.

Excellent food!!! The atmosphere was nice, however, large parties (10 people) are crammed to close together. Wonderful atmosphere for smaller parties (2 or 4 people)

Food is very good and now there open late night 9pm/11pm great This is a all around restaurant good for all occasions date night grabbing a bite to eat or just drinks at the bar .

Didn't have a reservation, party of 6. Eagles Nest staff worked us in. Brian, our waiter was fantastic. From bringing drinks to desserts, service and food was top notch.

This was the first night out that my husband and I have been able to have in quite a while(sans children) We were in search of a restaurant with a decent menu. Thankfully we found Eagles nest restaurant with excellent service and amazing view! We enjoyed an evening of cocktails, appetizers, and devoured our meals, all by suggestions Chris! Chris lead us through the menu and was so personable and friendly. He checked in on us throughout our meal ensuring we were happy with our choices and sent us home stuffed and with delicious desserts to share with the kids! My favorite part was enjoying all of this with an incredible view. That sunset is truly amazing. Please give Chris a huge shout out from the Whittekers! We will absolutely be back to enjoy with friends and family in the future!

Hands down one of our favorite restaurants in the area to eat. Are you looking for steak or seafood? This is your spot! Best crab dip in all of York and I don't eat crab dip like that lol. They're crab dip is so good you crave it! All around every single time we go here not one thing is not mouth watering good! Wonderful atmosphere and always great service. They're in-house drinks are always really yummy too and unique. Seriously try that crab dip! 😂

I’m from Wisconsin just traveling around the area. My fiancé and I were looking at reviews of restaurants in the area. Eagles nest York was highly recommended. So we went and were not disappointed. The food was like no other. The taste and presentation was immaculate. The price was certainly fair and the Service was friendly.

Alex was our server on Easter and she was amazingly wonderful!! She was kind. Alex also made sure our large family party was well taken care of the entire visit.

Alex provided the best service and was friendly. The meal was amazing and we will be back again. The dessert, cheesecake was so good.

We often come here for drinks, because they have the best in York County. This evening we chose to enjoy dinner as well. We can speak highly of the prime rib entree and the crab stuffed flounder. I've eaten here since before it was bought and transformed and let me tell you, they did an excellent job making this place look gorgeous!! I haven't had bad food there yet and the same goes for drinks. It's a little pricey, but a very nice place and worth the money. I highly recommend it!

I have wanted to come here for YEARS so my 3 daughters treated me for my 70th birthday! The mules were very easy to drink, the crab soup was not just spices and was so delicious.Our waitress was superb..there were 2 other birthday celebrations going on beside our table Just a fantastic evening.

Went here for an anniversary dinner based on the reviews. Immediately had to deal with two hostesses who seemed like doing their job was a huge burden to them. The one who finally got up from the stool to seat us made a pretty obvious showing of looking me up and down multiple times then took us upstairs. The food was just okay, felt like it was overpriced for what it was. The prime rib dip was akin to dog food so I didn't eat it. The rolls were also just Sister Schuberts rolls. The "fries" were these strange wedge potatoes with no flavor. Our waitress was also extremely dry and we only saw her to take our order, bring the food, then the check. Guess we expected more for the price point.

Our waiter was Chris and he was wonderful happy and very knowledgeable about everything Eagles Nest
