We had an amazing time. Our server Chanelle was amazing. So sweet and full of recommendations. Henry came out and chatted with us a bit and gave both of us hugs. Definitely the best experience I've had at any restaurant in quite some time. The food was delicious too! Must get the crab cakes.

This was a tough call. The filets were prepared nicely with very good taste but the sides were bad. The broccoli’s crowns were brown, the sautéed mushrooms tasted badly and looked worse where our server had no clue how to navigate a business meeting that was occurring. The server, he, kept on interrupting repeatedly during conversations and had a difficult time navigating his role in the evening….ahhhh simply serve, you are not apart of the meeting. This is the 1st time I have tried entertaining at this Eddie Merlot and doubt I will ever again.

The beat part of the dinner was the friendly and accommodating staff. The food was good and well worth the price. I had filet mignon, which was done to perfection. The only draw back was that we made a reservation yet, had to wait 30 minutes for a table.

So slow. Went Saturday night during restaurant week. 7pm reservation, not seated until ~7:30pm. Host was serving free champagne while we waited, so that was nice. Ordered wine by the glass, iced tea, an appetizer, and 2 prix fixe restaurant week meals. Did not leave our table until 9:45pm. Service was slow and not impressive. Not given clean plates for our bread after our appetizer, did not ask if I wanted a 2nd glass of wine, no crumb clean up after dinner. Food was good (green beans still had bits of stem attached, though), esp. the carrot cake.

Fantastic service to say the least, perfect to my liking. Half of the food was fantastic (lobster bisque, steak, and carrot cake) half was subpar (chicken, salad, and chocolate cake). I would be picky and choosey with what you get. The alcoholic drinks were amazing however. We did restaurant week so it defers from regular menu, so we didn’t get the full scale of the menu. Again, FANTASTIC waiter, I wish he could always wait us lol.

If there were more stars, I would happily give them. My wife and I like to eat at high end steakhouses and restaurants all over the city and I can say that "hands down" they have the best food. Everything was amazing and the service was excellent. We'll be back soon.

Having a professional meeting here is the go to, very formal dining experience with a casual flare. Our experience was good but not 5 star worthy, I think the customer service really kept this close to a 5…unfortunately after multiple attempts to have a clean glass it was repeatedly dirty or having marks on it. Maybe a little customer confusion on their end as we requested a certain dish to be made but unfortunately they could not. The manager was very accommodating after realizing the dish was still brought to the table and we rejected it as the server thought we ordered it. My meal was very tasty with a really good wine selection. I did think for the price it was a good experience, however I likely would try another option in town next time. I appreciate the kindness and personalization from the staff…I will give them a bonus points for table side bananas fostered! Not my kind of dessert but tasty enough!

My partner brought me here for our anniversary dinner. Ed provided excellent service and made our meal special with a complimentary dessert (incredible crème brûlée) and champagne. The bread was a bit odd and extremely messy. Both my salmon and his NY strip were cooked to perfection. My potatoes and green beans were under seasoned but the street corn side dish was phenomenal. The other staff who approached our table were very friendly and accommodating.

Everything at this establishment was excellent. Phenomenal food, stellar service, and beautiful ambiance all contributed to a perfect evening with my husband. I imagine it helped that we were the last reservation of the evening, as the restaurant stayed at a nice intimate noise level while we dined. Next time we’re in Pittsburgh, this will be date night dinner again.

Recently visited Pittsburgh on a business trip. As part of that a small group visited Eddie Merlots before the rest arrived. From walking through the door to leaving after the meal the whole experience was positive. Great staff, helpful and friendly and really good food. Crab cakes, prawns as shared starters, salmon main course and a cake dessert were all superb.

What an amazing dinner! Me and my friend came here before seeing a show at the Benedum and it was delicious. The service was impeccable and speedy. We both got the trio of filet medallions and every one was delicious. Dessert was top notch as well. Pricey but you pay for what you get, amazing dinner and great service. I couldn’t recommend it more!

The best short description of this resteraunt is overrated and expensive. The side dish was larger and a portion of the price of the entree (which I found amusing). I'm not the type of person to be considered a taste/food specialist at all, but for $150+, we both left our celebratory dinner hungry. As for the atmosphere, there's a lot of art on display and you can tell most of the staff are artists and it gives off that 'classy feel'.. but that's where the overrated remark comes into play. It was a very interesting restaurant, being there for a first time. Not sure if I'll ever choose to return for the price, though.

I brought my wife here for her birthday. We started with the seafood tower, lovely presentation. However, the shrimp were not deveined properly and overcooked. One of the lobster claws was spoiled. Everything else on the tower was great. For our entrees I had the wagyu ribeye which was cooked nicely. My wife ordered the lemon Dijon chicken which came out very dry, the asparagus was overcooked and nearly mushy, and the mashed potatoes had whole chucks of unmashed potatoes. We also ordered a side of truffle Parmesan fries, which were cooked nicely but lacking in truffle flavor and we also ordered the lobster mac, which was a touch bland. Both sides were lukewarm at best. Not what I expected from a restaurant that has the kind of prices they do. The service was great, our server was very nice and attentive. The manager offered free dessert because of the lobster claw. The staff was great but they would be the only thing to bring me back.

We went there to celebrate my mother’s birthday. We had lovely time. Our server, Tim, was incredibly helpful. We met the manager, Evelyn, who was really kind and approachable. The quality of the was top notch and well worth the price. My only critique is regarding the men’s bathroom as it is located in another part of the restaurant and is no where near the women’s and family bathroom. While it did not affect me personally, but it might a minor inconvenience for the male patrons. I would certainly go back!

I have been to Eddie Merlots many times, this was the first time we were ever disappointed. We were seated in the bar, I asked if we could do the dining room but was not accommodated. The bar noise level was ridiculous this night as there was this extremely load party at the next table. The waiter was nonexistent half the evening to the point we had to ask for more drinks and if we could see a dessert menu. Hopefully this will not be our experience when we go again as I really enjoy this place a lot.

We have been to Wddie Merlots many times. This was by fai our most disappointing experience. Hot appetizer was great. The cold appetizer was subpar, the oysters were not good. The steaks were all cooked the way we asked for. The sides were okay. Some of the Eddie’s potatoes came uncooked. Our table wasn’t cleared before our meals were served which caused a spat with some of the servers. Overall this was not a good experience.

Seriously outrageous prices and I've had far better steaks at Texas Roadhouse. These steaks were TOUGH with a lot of gristle and the garlic mashed potatoes had NO garlic taste, and were just short of being runny. No sides are included with a steak that alone was $72 and the potatoes were $$11. My son took me there for dinner and his steak as I recall from the menu was $79. We did get desserts to go which were excellent. While the steaks had sear marks, they completely lacked that grilled taste as if cooked in a microwave then put on a grille just to mark them. No seasoning or seasoned taste whatsoever. Oh, the pot stickers and French onion soup were good, but the soup was only Luke warm.

Not up to previous visits something was off. Our waiter was excellent table was very good oysters Rockefeller was just ok wedge salad very good, my Aui tuna was a very small serving and I have had this dish many times. 4 small pc. Of tuna Baked potato was cold sent it back but it didn’t return until we were almost done eating. Steak was just ok. Wine that we usually get was not available3 different kind and the final thing was $25 for anniversary dinner on platinum Eddie Merlot was not available. The manager did honer it but was hardly worth the hassle .

We were celebrating a college graduation and booked this in advance for 7:15 for three people. When we walked in the lobby was packed. Upon check in we were told they were running a little behind and it would be about 25 minutes. The bar was packed and so that was out, so we patiently waited for about 35 minutes when we left for Morton's. Merlot's finally sent a text and followed with a call at approximately 8:10 to seat us an hour after our reservation!! Wow! There were a lot of us in the same situation and they had clearly overbooked and what was advertised as a high end restaurant sure felt a lot more like the Cheesecake factory. We won't bother to go back. We won't have to. Morton's was delicious and the service was fabulous.

This was just average and not worth the price. Yes, the steak was good, but the Parmesan truffle fries were just frozen fries and the sweet potato casserole was okay. I decided to try this place because of a dessert they had and it ended up not even being available. We could barely get refills on our drinks. We went for our 5 year anniversary and all we got was a “happy anniversary.” I’m not looking for anything free, but at least make us feel special? At more than $200 for 2 people (we didn’t even get appetizers, soup/salad, or alcohol), it should be spectacular. We won’t be back.

Had a 7:30 reservation for 5 people on a Saturday night, didn't get seated til 9:00. Girl in our party ordered 2 different entree's that were unavailable and had to order something else. Waited forever for our food--was nearly 11:00 by the time we were all done. I ordered a medium rare steak...half was rare and half was medium well. Waitress apologized but barely took anything off our bill. We had plans to go out afterwards but were so disgusted and disappointed after being here for 3.5 hours that we just went home. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. WILL NOT EVER COME BACK

The food and service are excellent at Eddie Merlot’s. My husband had the New York Strip and said it was the best one ever. The crab cakes are all crab. The grilled romaine salad is unlike any salad I’ve ever had and it is amazing. You have to try the carrot cake. Delicious!

We had a special night out celebrating 2 milestone family birthdays. Mindo was our server and was amazing. He made some great recommendations on what to order. He was attentive but respectful of our time allowing us to eat at our own pace. He was always there when we needed something, but never hovered. Food was excellent and cooked perfectly. Wine, appetizers and desserts were fantastic. Great atmosphere with some cool artwork. I have been to my share of fine dining steak houses and this was one of the best experiences we have had. What really set it apart was Mindo and how he made the birthday people feel extra special.

Eddie Merlot was a favorable for us in business and personal dining. In last year the restaurant had a top down staff change so I think they are revamping so that is a challenging process. Our waiter Matt was outstanding and everything a steakhouse regular knows to want and expect from the experience. He was attentive, informed, sincere and timely. Kudos if they garner more staff like him. I would encourage corporate to invest in new carpeting. It looks bad. As a marketing person I would encourage them to find a way to drive socials groups in for some happy hours as it seemed peculiarly quiet.

Made reservations for our anniversary.... Everyone was friendly and pleasant. Server Matthew was absolutely fantastic. Food was excellent. They gave us a complementary creme brulee and a anniversary card signed by all the staff.... So absolutely wonderful. Will definitely go back as soon as we can!

Great place for a business lunch. Quiet enough to have a business conversation while enjoying great food. Had the steak salad and it was very tender and cooked perfectly. Our waiter was very pleasant and helped when we needed to check out quickly to catch a plan.

My service wasn't bad but I had heard rave reviews about the service and it was just average. My meal came out before I could finish my soup and since everything on the menu is ala cart and quite expensive...and because the place was not busy at all, there really was no excuse to bring out our entrees before we had finished our soup. From that point on I felt rushed and again, there was no reason to rush us...the place was more than half empty on a Thursday night. Having said that, the Bison was one of the best meals I've ever had.
