The restaurant changed chefs about a year ago and the food became worse and worse. Now they have turned into a group dining eatery that focuses on serving travel agents instead of dealing with regular diners. They also rent out the space today to sell clothes, and the scene was so chaotic that the waiters didn't even warn customers not to use the back door because it would be a direct run-in with people changing clothes. The new male waiter was also very bad at reading the atmosphere and would say strange things to you at inappropriate times, making it very uncomfortable to sit and eat in the store. When checking out he would have a death grip on the POS machine and his eyes were glued to the screen where you choose your tip, making you feel uncomfortable. They've been having frequent waiter changes and this current one is the worst in my opinion. They used to be a very intimate little restaurant where it felt like you could become friends with everyone working in the restaurant, and now that they've changed chefs and the waiters feel weird, I'm sorry to see them turn out like this.

I’ve been going to this place for a long time: ever since i was a child. Although they moved location, the family owned restaurant is cozy and welcoming. the food is also especially good.

Well pork over rice is not the best one. I don’t think I am coming back here

The food is just so-so. Kind of disappointed. The fired chicken was tasteless. After seeing those credit card fraud reviews, we felt very anxious. Not recommended.

We came here with recommendations, unfortunately, not a fan of this place. Karaoke bar is not expected when you dine in. People singing while you want to have a family time to eat. No choice. You are forced to listen 🎶. Food is just so so. Disappointed.

We had the beef broth soup (spicy enough) was great. Service very nice and fast. The only thing is that the OPEN sign wasn’t big enough and you can just passed them thinking they’re closed. It’s a big place and ‘‘twas empty for lunch.

Not a bad spot but definitely need to try more of their menu. I would not trust a good amount of the professional looking photos on their Google reviews page though. I showed up with photos of dishes I wanted to try and they told me that wasn’t theirs. Not their fault but beware! They have a pretty delicious tofu dish with rice. Their beancurd with pork and veggies is good but it was an odd mix of veggies included. Not as expected. Their noodle soup is not bad either very spicy which I enjoyed! Service is quick and efficient.

Suggest owner to add more authentic Taiwanese dishes to menu which not many around offer, declutter, enhance furnitures/tablewares/ambience for better dining experience, and update resturant pictures/menu on website.

Worst noodle place in New Jersey. So sad!!!!!!

I have been eating Sister Xie’s for five or six years, and this is the first time I am so disappointed😞. The once delicious braised pork rice was dry, woody and tasteless. I really can't understand how the braised pork can be made so dry and woody. Even if you put it in the pot and keep cooking it, it will definitely become soft and rotten. Finally, I came to the conclusion that it was probably the braised pork rice that was not sold out the day before. I packed it up and put it in the refrigerator, and then reheated it and sold it the next day. Otherwise, even if you keep the leftovers from yesterday, you won’t be able to sell the next day if you don’t mix it with rice and put a whole bowl in the refrigerator. Can the boss try it by taking a bite? It's really a sign of his own brand.

Not impress with food and service. The restaurant is old. The worse part is the young waiter was rude. Very unprofessional (I believe is the owner son). The owner she has better manner. Will not come back for sure! Wasting my time in here with my family. None of us like the food and the service from the young waiter.

I passed by and it tasted pretty good. The salted crispy chicken was quite delicious. Reading the reviews, they all said the beef noodles were delicious, but I thought it was bland and tasteless. But the service attitude was good. The children were given desserts and they were very happy.

I'm not a noodle guy so went with the curry chicken with fried rice. My meal was delightful not not spicy. You can add more spices per request. The atmosphere was lacking. Parts of the restaurant were in need of repair such as dents and scratches on the wall behind me. However, the food met my expectations. 9.3/10

What a hidden gem! We were in the area trying to get some lunch. This place had authentic and really good Taiwanese food!! All the restaurants within the H-Mart mall strip were packed and we didn't feel safe eating indoors with so many people with the omicron surge. We came here instead and SO glad we did!!! Super spacious interior. Friendly service and very good and authentic Taiwanese food!!!! Being a native from Taiwan, I know what Taiwanese food should taste like and this place DID not disappoint! Literally everything we tried was so good and delicious! 1) Taiwanese popcorn chicken. Really authentic. Just like the ones I had in Taiwan if not better 2) slices beef with scallion pancake. So crispy and yummy. The black bean sauce was savory and sweet and was a nice contrast with the scallions inside. 3) garlic fish. Very good flavor. Sweet and garlicy and breaded nicely. Nice portion 4) sliced fish in hot chili sauce. Very flavorful. Lots of soy bean sprouts inside and lots of fish. Portion was beyond generous. 5) seafood tofu casserole. Came out sizzling with lots of fried bean curd and generous amounts of different seafood including shrimp, cuttlefish. Flavor was good. 6) pork steamed buns. I did not have this but my son truly enjoyed this dish. Overall this is a very nice restaurant that serves amazing food and a cheap price. It deserves way more customers and business than they have. If I live in the area I would probably frequent this place every single day.

Great food and huge portions! Definitely a solid spot for Taiwanese food. Got the pork and chives dumplings, the fried chicken appetizer(Taiwanese style popcorn chicken), hot pepper beef and the green beans. Server was nice and helped us pack up the leftovers(a lot lol)

Easy to find (if you dodge rush hour traffic) plenty of parking behind the restaurant. Menu has a wide variety of dishes but I was mainly here for the beef noodle soup. I recently spent some time in Taiwan and was craving this tasty dish. I must say I was very satisfied. Huge portions for the price, a rich and flavorful broth, and all of the perfect accompaniments. the chili oil was a perfect addition. Will definitely be back!

Eating it the third time. My son and I rate this so much better than Tasty Moment. Very reasonably priced. Tasty moment tracks how much you spent, if less, they bumped people from 20 minutes wait to 2 hour wait.

Went there at 6:30, it was still lunch time, and there was not a single customer at the table. This dish is not on the menu, and that dish is not available. The salted crispy chicken is okay, but other dishes always feel improvised, and the freshness needs to be considered, and they are basically too salty. The food is also very slow. After one bowl, the second bowl is not fried yet, and the rice is cold. . Those who are cautious about fried noodles, I feel that noodles are not my strong point. The service attitude is okay, but it's hard to see the waiter because there are few customers and fewer staff. It's busy! Forgot to take the photo

Come here if you want Taiwanese home style dishes at a reasonable price. The restaurant isn't the cleanest. The service is no frills, but there's one nice lady that will greet you with a smile and some warmth (and sometimes small pudding cups for your kids). My favorites here were the Taiwanese fried chicken and xiao long bao (soup dumplings). We also ordered the sanbeiji (3 cup chicken), and even though the flavors were decent, the meat itself lacked freshness. It was really chewy. The beef noodle soup was okay, but the soup wasn't very flavorful and the beef was again too chewy. My husband got the Tainan pork thick soup and enjoyed it.

We were there on Saturday lunch. Not busy at all. It was cold cause they did not turn on the heat. Food was so so. We ordered a braised beef noodle, steam soup bun, dumpling, pork chop rice and Taiwan fried noodle. The taiwan fried noodle is the tastiest among our order.

Nice small venue with good food.

This place used to be good. The food we recently got over Christmas break 2022 was super salty and super expensive. The takeout costed over $120 for 4 adults (we didn't finish the food because it was so bad). As a comparison, we had a dine in dinner in a decent Italian restaurant in the city of Philadelphia few days after for only slightly higher price. I know Chinese food is getting expensive because of elevated "food status," but Chinese take being more expensive than decent restaurant dine-in is too expensive for me.

They finally reopened for indoor dining after 1 year and I’m so happy they’re back. Edison is full of many great Chinese spots but this one is worth a visit. Food is great, prices are good and the staff is very nice. My favorite dishes were Three Cup Chicken, Spicy Dry Pot with Beef, and Fried Squid. Also good and pictured in photos are: Satay Beef Stir Fry Noodle, Jellyfish, Fried Porkchop, Eggplant with Garlic Sauce, and Seafood with Tofu.

The quality and quantity of food are very good and authentic I love the fried rice's true taiwanese taste :) will definitely come back to visit and try more items.

Food is terrible. The only thing good is the fried rice. The lo Mein taste like it was dropped on the floor and rolled in dust. The soup taste bad too. Avoid...

Yesterday my wife had pork with pickled cabbage noodle soup and I had braised beef noodle soup at Edison Noodle House. They were very delicious. They also have a decent selection on their menu. Their prices are reasonable and their staff members are very friendly. Highly recommended.

I'd say the food here is above 4-star but not quite 5-star yet; rounded it up to five. Among the dishes we had, pork ear & dry bean curd and Taiwan style fried chicken stood out; braised pork over rice is pretty good.

I love the food here. I come here often even if they don't speak English well (I honestly like that lol. I know the food will be authentic). My favorite dish is the fish with cummin (spicy) and the hot and pepper fried rice. Totally worth checking this place out!

I have never left a 1 star review before. The fried rice had absolutely no taste. The fried chicken didn’t taste good at all. I had trouble eating a few. Man I’m so disappointed. This is my dinner tonight *sigh*

Try their beef noodle soup and tawainese style fried chicken

This place was absolutely delicious, I went around 1 in the afternoon and was shown a table immediately. Great service, took my order promptly, answered any questions I had about the menu, food came out quickly, came around with tea, nothing bad to say. Be prepared to hang out and eat slowly, you're meant to talk and drink tea. The food itself was outstanding! The beef noodle soup was exceptional: a strongly beefy broth with warm spices, toothsome noodles, and tender pieces of beef, this style of soup is delicious. The braised pork over rice was just the right amount of tender and fatty, and the pickled greens that came on the bowl really tied the whole dish together. My brother's mapo tofu was the best I've ever had, perfectly balanced between spice, richness, sweet, sour, and just enough pork to give flavor without overpowering the tofu. We also had the cold beef tendon as an appetizer and it may have been my favorite thing we got as it was perfectly tender while still being subtle in flavor. Fair prices with good portions, I cannot really think of a way to make this meal better. I highly recommend it!

Craving dumplings and noodles and a search led me to Edison Noodles House - I ordered for take out, so I imagine it is even more delicious in-house! Soup dumplings were good, not as soup-filled as some, but still tasty. The beef noodle soup was very flavorful! Filling portion of noodles, and I saved half of the broth for later. The mapo tofu was my favorite, the right amount of spiciness for me. Excited to order from here again and hopefully will dine in next time.

The restaurant is clean. Fresh dumplings made on site and its good. Soup dumpling skin is thick. Noodles taste alright. It's more like a neighborhood family shop

It was our first time coming here and we actually walked in from the back parking lot entrance. When you first walk in the back, you walk into what looks like a small dark storage room that had unused fridge and old advertising decorations. Then you walk into another room which looks like the restaurant now, but the lights were off and it looked abandoned. We were about to walk out, but we heard sounds coming from another room that had the lights on. Finally, we found the front main room. It would've been helpful if they had signs pointing to the front. There was one customer eating and a woman watching tv, which we assumed was the owner by the way she spoke to staff and how she made her way around the place. The place had some hot-pot/ shabu shabu grill tops on some tables but the menu doesn't offer any. We stood by the host desks for some time before being seated. Our waitress was nice, but there was a slight language barrier. At the back of the menu, they had a recommendation page but sadly, it's the only page in the menu that didn't have English translation. We ordered the braised beef noodle soup, pork stir fry noodles, the fried pork chop as an appetizer, and two flavored teas (Thai and honeydew) from their tea shop. They first brought out our entrees and then brought out the wrong appetizer, so there was an extra wait for right one to come out. The portion size and the price were good. The braised beef noodle soup was alright. They had meaty juicy beef pieces but it only came with 4pcs. I wish it had at least one more so I didn't have to "save" a piece for the end since the ratio of noodles was a lot more. The noodles were great but the broth was salty. It wasn't one that I wanted to "chug"/ finish at the end. My friend said that the pork stir fry was good but was just greasy so he didn't finish it. The fried pork chop was good. I wish it came with a glaze or sauce but I'm not sure if that's traditional Taiwanese cooking. Lastly, the flavored teas were okay. They had an aftertaste that made it clear it was made from powder. I was hoping it was going to be better since they had a whole separate menu for their tea shop with numerous choices. I really wanted to like this place- especially looking at some of the other reviews and pictures. Maybe Covid affected restaurant quality... or it was an off day? But alas my search for some good braised beef noodle soup continues.

The food is excellent. Amazing flavors, accurately prepared by Taiwanese staff (the flavors remind us of Taiwan)! 3 cups chicken is freshly chopped chicken parts- so beware of bone shards. The beef noodle soup, scallion pancakes, pancake wrapped with beef— they were all a+. The dine-in experience itself lacks a lot. We can ignore the fruit flies hovering occasionally near us, as thats not really anyone’s fault. Also they’re a bit understaffed, which isn’t totally their fault- so be patient if you want to dine there in the evenings. We can advise people to not sit near the windows, as the cold draft comes through noticeably. We found bugs (fruit flies?) in the vinegar jar at our table. Thought it was flakes of some sort at first. The chopsticks and plates weren’t thoroughly cleaned (my pregnant wife was put off by this).

Very authentic Taiwanese food. Casual and comfortable atmosphere with nice service. This is one of the local restaurants I will support.

We really enjoyed the vegetable fried noodles and sesame chicken. The portions were big and the food came out really fast. The venue is also nice and large enough to host a big group.

Waitress are very nice. They have good food in a spacious restaurant. Parking is also convenient here with the provided parking lot in the back.

We had several appetizers and small plates, as well as braised pork, soup noodles, sautéed vegetables. The beef noodle soup had authentic flavor and aromas. The 台式香腸 was served with traditional garlic slices. The 滷肉飯 was juicy with just the right amount of fattiness. We definitely plan on coming back again!

We had the beef noodle soup and it was super good. The beef was very tender and the beef broth was very good. We also had string beans as a side dish and braised beef as an appetizer. The service was friendly.

Very good Shanghainese food without being anything fancy which is just my kind of place. Their Shanghai Rice Cake is better than anything I have had in C-town or Flushing being tasty and relatively light on grease (but I wouldn't dare say it was remotely healthy). The rice cakes were neither overly firm nor floppy. Goldilocks would be happy. The beef tripe stew soup has consistently tender beef and soup is savory without being salty. Scallion pancakes are good, but not great. Juicy buns are in the same place as their scallion pancakes; more than passable but you probably have had better. We only found out about this place during COVID so I can't say anything on their service or their physical site. Ordered out half a dozen times over the last year and the food has been consistent above par.

I came tonight with my dad, we are from Florida and are truck drivers. We’ve been really stressed and we haven’t eaten until right now, we got tomato and egg drop soup, Yangzhou fried rice, shrimp stir fry noodles and beef and broccoli. It was amazinggg! The portions are kind of big, it was really good. Also the little girl who attended us and the mom, y’all made our day, after being so stressed, the little laughs were great. Time wasn’t that bad, only like 20 mins. Good service you guys have here and great food. Ten out of ten would recommend.🤍

These three stars are thank you for giving me the confidence to cook. The spicy hotpot you made was so salty that even my husband, a Hubei native, couldn’t even take a few bites. The tomato and egg rice bowl was so sweet that I felt like it was so delicious after taking one bite. My cooking skills are really pretty good. You can even cook a dish like tomatoes and eggs that are infallible. I admire you so much. If you don’t want to get diabetes or high blood pressure, I advise you not to order from this restaurant. , so cool.

This is just a suggestion, get rid of your shrimp stir fried noodle from the menu. It's not good, hella dry and tasteless.
