Shhh! Don’t tell. It’s the best breakfast in the Salt Lake Valley. The eggs benedict with crab and that savory hollandaise sauce is fantastic.

Update: cannot in good conscience come back to eat here as I read a review from the past to which the owner responded FOAD(if you know you know). I think it's appallingly unprofessional and disgusting. The food here is above average but not perfect. One of my wife's poached eggs was hard. My son and I both ordered our burgers med-rare, they both came out well done. I'm a cook and I'm confident that a professional cook knows when they've improperly cooked an item. They shouldn't just send it out in hopes of the customer not sending back. Dining out is expensive, a customer should get what they've paid for. The low rating for atmosphere is due to the level of noise in the restaurant, which nothing can be done about, its a small place with lots of people. If you don't like a very loud dining experience then you won't like eggs in the city. With all of that being said I will most likely give them another chance.

We live an hour away and love making the drive for such good food!! They have a variety of food and it has all been amazing! They don’t skimp on their portions and the flavor is on point. The staff is fun and really nice. The parking is a little tough sometimes but worth it.

Might be the some of the best biscuits in the valley. At least top 3. Amazing breakfast menu options and fresh. Always busy so plan accordingly. Great patio.

We love visiting this place for breakfast. Their cinnamon swirl pancake is amazing and we get one every time. Their mexican breakfast dishes are my favorite but I haven't had something there that I haven't liked. Jared is usually our waiter and he's the BEST!

Everything is always amazing and the staff are so friendly. It's always super busy, but that's just because it's so good!

Staff was nice. Food came quick. Fresh made. Chili Verdi smothered burrito was amazing. Chili Verdi has a spice level of about 7 for someone who doesn't do spice.

This is probably in the top 4 or 5 breakfast places in SLC and there are some nice choices for breakfast. Great atmosphere, big menu and excellent service with lots of parking. Don't miss this one on your visit to SLC.

This restaurant is definitely the best breakfast spot in the Salt Lake Valley. The location is convenient. The food is stellar. Atmosphere is phenomenal. Waiters and waitresses are genuine. The menu has a great variety of options to select from. My favorite is their the French toast. I will never go anywhere else for brunch since my experience at Eggs in the City. 🍳🥓🥞

First time coming here - the Traditional Eggs Benedict was perfect!! All the servers checking on me were really nice. Great job! UPDATE: 1 year later I went back - STILL EXCELLENT!

Pretty busy place but the wait time wasn't too bad. I got the chicken and waffles and it didn't disappoint.

The food was good but the coffee was not delicious. Please add espresso in the menu.

I think this is an above average place for your typical American breakfast/brunch food. I don’t know why, but I just wasn’t able to enjoy their food as I had hope to. Although the presentation of the dishes is great as shown through the photos, what we ordered was just mediocre. At the first look, nothing could go wrong with the combination of these items on the plates, but somehow the flavors just did not come together as nicely. The Hollandaise sauce on my Eggs Benedict was not good. The best dish out of the four items was the crepes, but it was not best crepes we have had. Such a bummer because I have heard many good things about this place. They are located in a nice neighborhood, the atmosphere was great. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. The service was friendly. They have an online waiting list so I suggest getting on the list first before arriving to shorten your wait time.

TERRIBLE EGGS IN THE CITY EXPERIENCE We arrived with great anticipation, bringing our 5 lb. Chihuahua along with us to dine on the terrace as we were told when booking that dogs are welcome on the terrace, but need to be on leash. While seated on the terrace, a friendly waitress informed us that the pup would need to be placed on the floor once the food arrived, to which we agreed. She cited “health code requirements.” However, 45 seconds later, a tall burly 6’4 manager abruptly towered over the table without a greeting, insisting that our dog must stay on the ground saying that these are “my rules, which I have posted everywhere.”  He was aggressive and clearly has zero consideration for treating people with common courtesy. I told him “He will go on the floor – okay, not an issue.” He was rude and abrupt. As he puffed away and back into the restaurant ---- he loudly said to the server “let me know if the dog is still not on the floor when I return as I want them out of here!” 

Hearing this, I said “this behavior is unacceptable.” He apparently heard me because one minute later (clearly looking for an altercation) he came back launching into an attack and said to us “what is inappropriate is not following the rules!”

Our dog was on the floor already and simply there was NO NEED for continued aggression. My wife said, “Excuse me … and started to tell him that the lady server told us he could stay on her lap until the food came, but he is already on the floor….”  And without skipping a beat he said, “YOU ARE EXCUSED!”  

Seriously? This is how you speak to a lady and who is a patron!? It became an instant scene. I told him what is unappropriated is talking to people like this and that there is a word called “hospitality,” which is when he told me like he wanted to challenge me that there is a word called “ENTITLEMENT!” Entitlement? I said… WOW. What an insult. My wife is 5’3” and 105lbs. My daughter is going to be a senior in high school in a few weeks. We wanted to have a nice brunch and relax.

Instead, we were attacked within minutes of us walking inside the restaurant. The tall unkept guy tried to intimidate us with his size, demeanor and the level of his voice. He was so aggressive, I seriously thought he was going to “chest bump” me. 

I told my family “Let’s leave” as he continued to try to keep the encounter going. As we were walking out– I said, “we are leaving” and he said sarcastically “great decision – LEAVE!” We should have filmed this. It was so unbelievably disrespectful. 

A dining establishment may serve the best food, but if the staff is rude, disrespectful, and cruel, it tarnishes the entire experience. The guy’s behavior was appalling.  He clearly has an anger issue and should not be in a service position. If I had to guess, he has LDS (syndrome), which has NOTHING to do with the Latter-Day Saints abbreviation. 

He was a bully and clearly this was not his first rodeo with patrons. He was disgusting. Horrible experience. I would strongly recommend avoiding EGGS IN THE CITY, especially if you’re a dog-owner and go anywhere else as no one needs to be hassled by a creepy guy who clearly wanted a fight. Someone should alert the owner, Heather Santi who I am pretty sure would be embarrassed and appalled.

It's a little loud inside - but you can drown it out with every bite of deliciousness that Eggs In the City dishes up. Everyone in our group was delivered hot, fresh, fabulous food. Great helping sizes and almost too much to choose from. New favorite place💯

Best breakfast in Salt Lake! I love breakfast food and like to try everywhere possible. Been coming here for over 16 years, and still hands down my favorite place! Not to mention this place is unique for their service, the servers here have been here for years and they truly job their job!

5 stars all the way. Food, service, atmosphere. Food: I tried the chicken and waffle combo and my significant other had the biscuits and gravy combo. This was the first time I had ever tried chicken and waffles together (also came with 2 eggs and bacon). They used boneless chicken thigh with a spicy “glaze breading?” I don’t remember what it was but it was a welcomed little kick. My s/o ordered biscuits and gravy with sausage (came with eggs and potatoes). Folks let me tell you… these biscuits were delicious!! Usually other places have biscuits that are dry and taste sad. These biscuits were so fluffy and soft to eat. I really enjoyed them and I would LOVE to know their recipe but I honestly couldn’t remake them on my best day. Service: the staff was very welcoming and accommodating. They were an all around good vibe. They weren’t overbearing and checking in on us every 3 mins. Atmosphere: this establishment gave you the option to eat indoors or outdoors. We opted for indoors. The overall energy of the place was lively and had an eclectic type of wall art that somehow matched the personality of the place. We spent $45 including a tip. We would go back again. If we’re passing through, we would go out of our way to return.

The restaurant is very popular and usually packed throughout the day. Food portions were quite large. Recommended if you want a filling and hardy breakfast. Restaurant can be a bit noisy but service was good.

Good food. I’d give it a 7/10. The atmosphere is so loud though. The kitchen is loud the music is loud. It just wasn’t very relaxing to eat there. I wish I would have gotten my food to go.

This place rocks!! We came here for Monday morning brunch and there was a wait time - and this place is sooo popular!!! We were happy with everything. The staff was exceptional in naturally flowing kindness and desire to take care of the customer well. Food was scrumptious. Unfortunately they don’t have espresso machine, but that was just a minor inconvenience. Modern functional design works well. There are many outside tables, well protected from sun with large umbrellas. We loved it.

Me and my friends had a great time. But as soon as the last person was finishing up, they kinda kick us out. Clean our times whipped it down, and took everything way. I understand that for servers times is money. But I never had a restaurant to that before.

I've had my fair share of brunch around the world and this sits among the BEST I've had. We came on a Sunday with no reservation and waited 40min which was worth it. Everything on the menu was delicious!!! Highly recommend and will be back!

You won’t find a cooler guy than Jared to take your order. Have yet to have a bad experience. The Benedict’s and skillets are my favorite and they just came out with a bene sampler. I always have to get a cinnamon swirl pancake. Fast, friendly services and you’ll feel like family in one visit. It’s my wife and my special Friday morning date spot when we can fit it in!

Super friendly staff. This place is like my second home. Edit: My original review remains true but my son and I were disappointed today to find the store was closed. Please consider updating your business hours of operation on all platforms if you’re going to close. Apple Maps currently lists you as “Open.”

This is my absolute favorite place for breakfast/lunch.

When I got to the restaurant it was closed. I saw about 30 people come and go and they found it closed as well. Not sure what happened. Nothing on website said it was closed. Was meeting a friend from Missouri so had to find another option quickly.

Friendly staff, wonderful atmosphere and terrific food! Pet friendly patio seating. Be sure to call ahead to get on the waiting list for seating as they do not accept reservations.

Absolutely amazing experience!! It was packed right at opening and we were still able to get in and out in less than an hour. The food was fantastic! The staff was calm, confident, and pleasant. And we didn't feel rushed at all. Specifically Jared made sure the experience was great for not only our table, but every table in the place. Kudos to him!

Visiting from out of town and stopped here for breakfast. They had a large menu with tons of great options, and several great options on the kids menu for our toddler as well. We were sat promptly and our service was amazing despite how busy our server was (I believe her name was Vanessa?) Food came out exactly as we ordered it and very quickly. Overall an amazing option for breakfast!

Perfectly cooked skillets and Benny's, pancakes. They know how to make the perfect egg, which is one of the hardest things to cook well consistently, as many chefs will tell u. Jared the waiter was super. A long line up during rush hours, but worth the wait.

We came here for Sunday brunch and the experience was great! We were seated in the outdoor patio, which had good ambience. We ordered the chicken and waffles, chicken and biscuit, eggs benedict, Nutella crepes with berries, meat eater skillet and the cinnamon swirl pancake. All the food was fresh and delicious. The prices were also very good for the quality of the food. The only issue is parking since it may be full at peak times. Can't wait to come back for brunch.

The food was good. Got our food fast. However, I made a reservation an hour ahead of time as my wait time was going to be an hour. I asked specifically for outdoor seating when I made my reservation. After arriving I got talked out of the outdoor seating as they were super busy and I had a group of 7 and 6 in front of me and was going to be another hour. Which to me doesn't make sense when I just got done waiting an hour. When my group was being talked out of the outdoor seating we were constantly referred to as “girls” In fact we were told “Girls, hey girls, no girls you want to listen to me and take this booth”. I felt that was extremely condescending as my whole group was all college aged women. The service I was EXTREMELY rushed to eat my food. I could feel the busser staff hovering and waiting for me to finish my food so they could grab my plate and get the table ready for the next group immediately. 30 minutes into my group sitting down the rest of my group had their plates already cleared from the table after they were finished. I was the last one to finish and I had one more bite left. The lady who was clearing the dishes grabbed my plate immediately as she realized I had my last bite off my plate. Wasn't a fan of the environment with how rushed and hovered over I felt the whole entire time I was eating. Oddly enough after getting rushed out of the restaurant, my group was left waiting at our table for 15 minutes for our checks. Unfortunately won't be coming back.

Unspectacular Conventional food with a hyped-modern atmosphere... usually too busy to justify me choose waiting with the yuppies to belly up to yellow eggs and curiously bland fried potato puffs. No fresh healthy juices. Glad that this place looks nice and attracts many people as it sits though. Update 6/3/24 Still a bit above average. Wasn't crowded.. Loud echo-y space.. was greeted within 2 minutes. Asked for the fastest service area , was placed at the counter... took :35 from ordering to receive my plate of food. The system isn't giving me an opportunity to post the photo of the meal but I'll keep trying. Average food, adequate service.. no chit chat at all .

Everything was great. The food was delicious! Service was good except for not getting refills and being given our check right after our food was delivered, even though it wasn't busy and we wanted another drink. The guy with the beard that seats was so friendly, he made up for the lacking waitress. I would recommend the Greek skillet and the chicken and waffles.

This place is miserable. Loudest restaurant I have ever been in. If the CIA ever needed to break me with psychological warfare they could just plop me down somewhere here. Cheap, flimsy and uncomfortable chairs. Try for a booth. Supposedly the eggs are good, but their mascot looks like she'd serve you an STI (not the car) with 'em so I played it safe and got something easy. French toast and bacon. FT was ok. Bacon arrived cold. Servers all looked like the just rolled out of bed wearing whatever.

You must try their french toast!!!!!! OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG IT IS SOOOO FREAKING GOOD!!! Let me go to bed so I can wake up early to get some. Night night

Incredible breakfast/brunch. They have a large menu with so many options, everyone in your group will be happy. Highly recommend the Chicken and Biscuits. Our server was phenomenal and had recommendations for everything. Coffee was also top notch. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in Salt Lake.

Their chili Verde goes hard! I love all of their Mexican style breakfasts that are twists on overdone American classics.

I love this place! The food is wonderful, the service is friendly and just often enough, and the patio is great. I drive a long way (3 hours, sometimes) to eat here.

First time eating at eggs in the city and it was really good and I will definitely come back try it a few more times to make sure it stays consistent, it definitely made up for the experience I had at the joke of a breakfast placedown the road

If you can't taste food this is your place. They serve highly processed food, none of which has a good taste or flavor. I don't understand the high rating because I've had food from other places in Salt Lake, which was excellent. I would recommend they focus on a better quality smaller menu selection with fresh fruits and no store bought processed items. Eggs Benedict taste like stale mustard.

Being from Tennessee we were excited to get out and experience the Rockies and Utah. This was an added bonus to our trip! The place was very welcoming and the food was outstanding!

We drove 45 minutes to get to this place and it couldn’t have been more worth it. The food was absolutely delicious and just a super cute place. I couldn’t recommend it more and I’m looking forward to coming back soon!!

I loved it here. The place is very much a hole in the wall which means it’s delicious. The service was so good you can tell that people actually like working there and the food was delicious. My only thing is the parking situation is kinda funky and the seasoned potatoes were a bit bland but overall everything was so good and I would 100% come back there again.

You are welcomed with a smile and genuine happy you came here today to dine with us! Food was great, the service even better! It is so nice in today’s world to have such an enjoyable place to go, relax, and have a good meal.

The food here is killer. I had the macho plate and it was delicious. The ingredients tasted fresh. It wasn't overbearing on salt or any other kind of spice. The salsa were mild, but they delivered on flavor. I would say this is one of my favorite breakfasts places in the valley. I've been going for years and it's no surprise why I keep going back. I will say that parking there isn't the greatest. Definitely plan around that if you're driving there. Otherwise, I hope y'all enjoy it as much I do. It's a solid place to go.

Really quick, great place for breakfast/brunch! We love bringing our kids here, our toddler really loves the Mickey Mouse pancake and all the fresh fruit. I can’t stop getting the delicious stuffed French toast, it’s just amazing. We will keep coming here, but we always try to get here before 0900 because otherwise the wait is a little too long with small children.

When we arrived at the restaurant, we were greeted and asked how we were doing instead of the typical welcome to etc. which was refreshing. When we ordered it was five Minutes and our food was already out. I was impressed because I ordered went to the restroom came back and the food was on the table already and I was like oh my God. We love it here, will be back soon. Vibes are on fire.

Came in to the state for business, found this place on Google Maps and was grateful we did because everything was outstanding. Sat quickly, service was top notch from the tall guy with a beard, seriously you know he’s happy to help and talk to guests and you can see it. Coffee never ran out, they have raw sugar and gave a full cup of real cream not the gross oily tiny foil cups and food came out quick as well. My gosh was it good. Potatoes 🔥🔥🔥, omelette same and cinnamon roll pancakes 🤤 Now if we ever come to SLC area again we know where we’re coming to eat. Thanks for the great experience which is becoming rarer these days

The food was great. I had macho style breakfast , and one of my eggs was overcooked .My husband's garlic melt was lacking garlic flavor, and fries were a bit soggy, but it still tasted good. I know they are busy, and it might have slipped, but overall, I would go again

One of the best Corned Beef breakfasts in the valley, great portion, well cooked, and quality was definitely monitored. One of the better biscuit gravy combos in the valley as well. Quick service, good prices. Well staffed.

Food was okay and our server was good, but the owner Heather is awful. We were told the wait would be 15 minutes. Waited over 30 minutes and inquired about seating and she (the owner) snapped at us. We didn't know she was the owner at first because she was so unprofessional. It was totally uncalled for because we asked kindly. She begrudgingly told someone to seat us as she rolled her eyes at us. This place claims to be LGBTQIA+ friendly but based on our treatment, I believe it was because she didn't like the way we looked. She shouldn't be in customer service if she is so miserable and can't work with other people.

My favorite brunch place in the whole valley. Huevos macho is my go to. The service is always speedy and friendly. I definitely recommend you make a reservation as this place is very busy.

EGGS IN THE CITY ‘TIL I DIE!!!!!! My friends and I just came from our high school spirit bowl and were all wearing our matching shirts, and the staff noticed and asked what school we go to. Soon after, they came out and surprised us with a giant complimentary pancake with our school’s logo decorated with strawberries. Unbelievable. We were completely taken aback by how attentive and generous they were. Will never go anywhere else for breakfast.

Really good food incredibly busy

This is a staple breakfast place for us. We love to sit on the patio during summer with our dog. It’s always busy, but if we’re short on time we can usually get a counter spot with a pretty short wait. All the food is good, but I love the skillets!
