Beautiful decor and excellent service

5 stars across the board. Best ceviche I’ve ever had. Service was great (bill shows his name was Harrison)- he was definitely on the ball. Will be back for sure. Thanks for making our date night perfect!

Juan Tequilas is 300% better ! For my one and only visit , They give small amount beans and rice the enchiladas are hard and not much meat. Only thing I enjoyed was the half and half tea! Waiters gave excellent service!

Food was off the charts! It is true Mexican cuisine and not TexMex. And the margaritas are not made from a green mix. Delicious! We had table side guacamole, tamales and burrito, chips and salsa were all perfectly prepared! El Aguila will be our new weekly Mexican dinner.

Me and the family love coming here. It’s a must whenever we are in the area. The jalapeño margaritas are phenomenal, but the primary dish we get is the NY strip fajitas.

Update to a 1. They raised prices and put very little meat on their dishes. NOT RECOMMEND @ ALL!!!! The interior of the restaurant is very nice. I got 2 steak burritos to go and they were ok. But they were very very very cheap on putting steak on it. For 26 bucks for 2 burritos... yea not worth it. But I probably will try again. Tip for restaurant people like to get great quantities for paying that much money!!! Don't be cheap with the meat!!!!!!!

Best Mexican restaurant in MS! Good margaritas - not too sweet with fresh lime juice. We’ve been a few times and tried multiple things - all delicious. Sounds odd, but the mashed potatoes - WOW!

This was a HIGHLY recommended restaurant by many of our more "high end" friends with money (not us). We were pretty excited though. Parking was weird - had to park in a grassy lawn. The bartender said the wait would be about 15 minutes. We ended up waiting an hour with 3 restless kids. When we were finally sat, the chef/owner(?) came by and took our initial order for drinks, specialty salsa, guac, etc. All we received was chips. The drinks took 15 minutes, the salsa never came, and 2 guacs were delivered to another table that were sat long after us. Another server came over and asked for our order. I also mentioned the other table already got guac (not actually table side), and we still hadn't gotten salsa or drinks. He came back 15 minutes later with drinks - no guac. At this point I'm ready to leave. Long story short, the food (when we finally got it) was not great. No better than your hole in the wall spots. Barely covered half the plate. Server seemed ready to leave. Managers went to the rich person table asking how everything was but I noticed that's the only one they stopped at. I suppose if it looks like you have money, you're treated well. Those people did know the manager and seemed to frequent the place, but we still felt ignored. As of right now we won't be going back. Aztecas is better in every way imaginable. Hopefully this place can improve and maybe we'll give it another shot down the road.

Second time I've been here. Service was not good, waiting for drinks, steak was overcooked.

Food was good but portions were extremely small. I've been to many Mexican restaurants and by far the smallest ever experienced. The entree barely covered half of the plate. I had to stop at checkers for a burger on my way home. Otherwise food including salsas were very good

I always like to go to el Aguila because it is my.favprite gourmet Mexican restaurant. The flavors that the chef can make dance on your palate. Between the stuffed avocado, the mixed grill, the ceviche and other amazing dishes, you will not regret one minute

Wonderful spin on Mexican cuisine

Last night, my husband and I ate here for the first time. We received a friendly greeting shortly after entering and were promptly seated. Chips and salsa were delivered to our table almost immediately. The salsa was fresh and mild. I had the sauteed zucchini with chicken, which is served with a mushroom cream sauce. It was quite tasty! My husband had the chicken enchiladas, which he said he enjoyed. We shared a flan (pictured). It was creamy and not too sweet. Sometimes flan can be eggy, but this wasn't. We chatted with our server a little. Everyone was friendly! We'll definitely be back.

Best true Mexican food on the coast!! Incredible!!!

You hear the term Authentic Mexican all the time. This experience was unlike any other on the Coast or surrounding area. The cocktails were very different, progressive and delicious. We had a bit of a wait and I kept stating, well Authentic must take longer. Typical Mexican on the Coast is at your table in 15 minutes. I was beginning to worry for a moment, but when the entrees arrived I knew why. Amazing dishes prepared with fresh ingredients and flavors not experienced anywhere on the Coast. I highly recommend this place and it is now our go to Mexican Restaurant.

Always fabulous. Small staff with cozy atmosphere. Great handcrafted margaritas and delicious guacamole made table-side. Fair pricing for premium menu. Small bar with sports television Outdoor dining patio as well. Try the iced tea margarita if you are a tea lover like me, or the jalapeno margarita if you like it kicked up a bit.

This is absolutely our favorite place to eat when we want really excellent food... It is not the typical Tex Mex. We love the appetizers: the fresh guacamole made at your table. My favorite is the avocado stuffed with chicken, (pictured) I always want to lick the plate. my husband likes the enchilada's and several appetizers. The Margarita's are made with fresh ingredients. Yum, Yum, Yummy! Never any leftovers. The bar is quite a popular place for after work relaxation and gathering.

This was the best meal we had in Gulfport. The food was fresh and delicious. The drinks were amazing. The staff were friendly and attentive. If we lived in the area this restaurant would be a regular !!!!

I got the chicken, steak, and shrimp grill. I'm sorry I don't remember the name of it on the menu. It came with sauteed vegetables, zucchini, corn, onions, broccoli, that kind of thing. It was very good!

Clean. Prompt service. Owner came and asked about our meals. Very fresh, tasty food. Now our favorite Mexican-food in the area. Highly recommend trying this restaurant. Many of our friends have tried on our recommendation and all loved the food. Guacamole prepared at the table.

The food was exceptional, and I am an out of state person from Wisconsin. The owner was very personable and fun to talk with, the staff was very friendly. The food, from scratch, was wonderful. I will be back again.

We've tried just about every Mexican food place in gulfport...well we finally found the one that stands out and I'd say the best around. This will definitely be our go to for Mexican food from now on. Get there as close to opening as possible to get seating right away.

The stuffed avocados are amazing. The food is always top notch. The service is usually good. The owner is very nice and always makes sure we are well taken care of.

If you’re looking for a date night type atmosphere Mexican restaurant this is it. Not your ordinary “Mexican “ type establishment. Nice fine dining type with a great menu of items to try. Their hours are split for lunch and dinner so be sure to go during open hours.

Update, it's been a few since our first visit and since then we have been back many times and it's always wonderful. The owner is so kind and always takes the time to make sure each and every person is happy with their meal. My favorite now is the Mexican Pasta. So much flavor!!! I always get the vegetable but this last time I also added steak tips. Definitely recommend it! I've been dying to try this place for weeks after it being recommended and for their amazing menu. Let's just say it did not disappoint!! Their menu isn't overwhelming but offers plenty of substitutions for each meal that anyone with dietary needs will be able to find something. Personally I'm vegetarian and it's always difficult to find a place that gives many options for me. Well for the first time I had so many options I wasn't sure which one to try first!! Our waitress was great and was extremely knowledgeable about every item on the menu, gave recommendations and shared her opinions. My hubby had the red fish and our waitress brought him their homemade corn tortillas on the side so he could make tacos if he wanted. He cleaned his plate and loved every bite. I had the veggie fajitas and they too were amazing. They also made me a pineapple mojito which was awesome!! The only downfall to the place is the lack of parking so if they are busy it is difficult to find a spot. We will definitely be back!!!!

If you're looking for Spanish food on the Gulf Coast, this is a great little hidden gem! The food is on point & runs a close second to any Mexican restaurant in San Diego, California. The prices are reasonable for the quantity & quality of the meal. The staff is attentive but can be a little overwhelmed with multiple tables. The chef came out & spoke to each table upon finishing their meal - a nice touch! The chef seems to be in tune with what people want & open to constructive criticism. All in all, a great dinner & and I look forward to trying again!

Went for lunch with a group and this is a hidden gem. Great food and service. Not sure how busy they are for dinner but lunch on a Thursday was not busy. Will be back

The best Mexican restaurant ever!! There is no comparison!! We realized that we we had been eating at subpar Mexican restaurants until we discovered El Aguila. All the ingredients were fresh, the quality of food was superb, the margarita was handmade, the atmosphere was like no other, the prices were very reasonable, and the staff was phenomenal. The chef takes pride in his food, and it shows!! I can not wait to go back and bring my loved ones!! I will be telling everyone about El Aguila!!

Came for lunch today, and it was FANTASTIC!! Our server was so wonderful and kind, and the food was amazing. Listen, they actually SEASON their queso instead of giving you a bowl of plain melted cheese. I love coming here!

Great GOURMET Mexican food. Hands down the best Mexican I've tried in the area. It is important to the owner you enjoy what you order.

This was our first visit and we were very pleased with everything. The atmosphere is upscale, welcoming, and relaxed. The chips and salsa were very good; perhaps the best salsa I've had. It was very fresh and had just the right spice. The menu had lots of the usual items but with added flare and variations. There were also interesting items that we will definitely try on later visits. I had the burrito with mole sauce which had a touch of cinnamon to enhance the chocolate flavor. I got it with the ground beef to compare it with what was my favorite burrito. I will definitely be trying it with brisket and then the chicken. I'll also have to go back to try the ribs. The description on the menu sounded delicious and the waitress confirmed that they are.

First time to visit and was pleasantly surprised! It was more of a fine dinning experience and a perfect place to bring a date! I saw Lamb Chops on menu at Mexican restaurant and had to try them. They were tender and delicious 😋 They have very nice bar as you walk in as well! Very enjoyable and I will definitely be back!

It is one of the surprising restaurants. This one is very impressive. The food was incredible. A step above the normal. The owner came out and met the tables with a little history. We will definitely put this on our list. This is not a fast food type place. Food is definitely cooked to order. Nice surprise.

Super yummy. The chips were perfection. Waitresses are very sweet and it’s an interesting atmosphere. It is a bit on the slower side of things.

El Aguila is beautiful upscale restaurant with a great Mexican decor. A nice selection of menu items. My friend and I chose off the lunch menu Chicken Breast Fajitas and a combo Steak-Shrimp Fajtas. Our server quick and attentive. They offer military discount which made the cost even better.

First time going there. Location is kind of hidden. Great place to eat. Everyone is very friendly. Got to meet the owner who is also one of the chef and a very humble person. Overall loved the place, very recommendable.

El Aguila never disappoints. The chef/owner is a perfectionist and it shows in every dish. We try something new everytime - ceviche - mmm, tamales - yum, ribs - unbelievable, but the lamb lollipops in the chorizo cream sauce are to die for and keep us coming back every time. Great decor, great service, perfect meals. We will return!

This place offers gourmet Mexican cuisine in a beautiful setting. This particular night had a shortage of wait staff but we were not in a hurry because it's a romantic place to eat dinner.

We bought a voucher for El Aguila and we definitely weren't disappointed. The food was amazing. The salsa tasted very fresh and was honestly the best salsa I've had. The tamales were fluffy and flavorful. We will definitely come back in the future. The servers were very friendly and answered any questions we had about the menu.

Wonderful environment and feel. When we arrived there was a sign stating that they were short staffed and to please be patient. We decided to take a chance. It was well worth it. They delivered the drinks and chips and salsa which was excellent. While waiting we went threw the salsa, canasta dip and queso dip appetizers. we each ordered an entree and there was a30 min wait time but service was excellent. Food was delicious. Would recommend and definitely go again. The venue was clean along with the restrooms

Came with a group of five. It took 50 minutes to get our food. Three of us didn’t like our food it was cold and the. Waitress never came back for us to complain.Last time for us!!

So the food was good. It took awhile to get, but after ordering my Shrimp taco twice I never received them. Come to find out the waiter never put in my order. The wait for my families food was enough of a wait for me to skip dinner from here tonight. There's a lot more but I'm still to hungry to care to explain. I did get a comp Corona because it was taking so long, but I'd rather eating with my family. Canes it is for the win for me tonight. Plate is what my wife ordered.

First time at El Aguila and it was fantastic. Everything we had was made from scratch. We ordered the guacamole that is made tableside. Chips were homemade, light and not greasy at all. For dinner I had the steak fajitas. Meat was cooked to your liking, homemade corn tortillas. We also ordered the chicken enchiladas that had wonderful flavor and not drowned in sauce. Great cocktails, wonderful staff. The owner/ chef came out and checked on us as well. Definitely be back

Staff was friendly and quick but food was terrible. Ordered steak tacos and tasted like Stu meat. Tortillas fell apart and were not good at all. Probably worst meal I had in over 5 years.

I had stumbled upon this place after a co worker had tried it out. Went for the first time today and was pleasantly surprised! Friendly staff, very cool environment, and the food was great and not too expensive! Will definitely be returning!
