Everything depends on your expectations of course, but the food was not impressive. The avocado salad was poor, the chicken en salsa roja better (leave the rice - terrible!). Staff was *really* friendly and although the margaritas weren't fab, they also didn't burn a hole in your wallet. Area has good vibes.

My mango margarita was such a treat......just stopped for an afternoon refreshment.

Not the same. Many years ago, I loved the mole here. We were the only customers in the restaurant at noon. The bathrooms were out of service and the floors looked grungy. We had the chimichanga and mole. The food was not good.

We’ve been going to this restaurant for over 20 years. We love their authentic food! The atmosphere inside as well as the surrounding neighborhood are interesting and diverse. Finally, the owner and wait staff are very friendly and welcoming. It’s one of my favorite restaurants! You have to go there!

Utterly ignored by all staff for 30 minutes. Had to walk back into the kitchen to get someone. After we got their attention, service was fine. Restrooms were out of service. Chips were cold. Margaritas and bean burrito were good, but not great.

Best Albondigas I've tasted in a very long time. And not just because it's the only place in omaha that we can find who makes it.

My favorite Mexican restaurant in Omaha. My husband & I frequented this wonderfully traditional Mexican food restaurant years ago. Now that I live in Omaha again I enjoy driving to South Omaha & partaking of their fabulous cuisine- the Pollo Naranja is great & their enchiladas-chips are fresh & crispy but not greasy & salsa is good too. Don’t forget to order a margarita on the rocks, made w/the real stuff, not a mix!!!

Came back after 15 years away and still enjoy the food.

We stopped in after a trip to the zoo. We had arroz con pollo, tacos el pastor, and pollo con mole. This place has been here for many years. We had great service and lunch hit the spot. There was so much chicken in my arroz con pollo that I needed to take some home!

Authentic Mexican food. Delicious and big dishes for what you pay. Very specious. So you can bring all your Familia and amigos. I 100% recommend this restaurant

There was almost nobody here when we ate. The service was wonderful, but for the first time ever, the food was a little bland.

Best fried ice cream in town. Run by a very sweet family who always bends over backward to provide excellent service. Everything is delicious but there are a few special things I go to El Alamo for that I can't find anywhere else. One is the sweet tamales. And the other is the pollo a la naranja; SO tasty.

Food was about average. Not particularly a good value. Nice old lady runs the place.

I was at 24th & L getting some of Jacobo's tasty salsa and decided to see what nearby places I had bookmarked to try. Up popped El Alamo, so I decided to grab a late lunch there. Nice place inside. The lady working was friendly and attentive. They have a big menu with a lot of options. Complimentary chips were served with both red and green salsa and both were tasty, For my entrée, I decided to go with the Enchiladas Rancheras. They were good, but not great. If I return I'll likely order something else. As stated, there's a lot to choose from on the menu and I have my eye on their Chile Colorado. Parking is street parking only.

Food was great and service was good

The beef enchiladas were super bland. I ordered 3 different types of tacos- carne asada, de lengua, and al pastor. The tacos had just meat on them- no cilantro, no onions, NOTHING. Also bland. Will not be going back. If you like flavorful Mexican food, stay away from El Alamo.

I had this delivered by door dash. I don't how this place got 4 stars. Food was absolutely inedible. The enchiladas, AL pastor tacos and the asada tacos had absolutely no flavor. None at all. The AL pastor was extremely mushy. Legit one of the worst meals I've had. No way I will ever spend money there again. This was my first timing eating from this establishment and it will be the last. Stomach does not feel good at all.

A little divey but authentic Mexican with friendly service.

Meat was dry, there wasn’t much flavor in any thing. Salsas were watery and un-flavorful. Only things we actually liked were chips, cheese dip (which tastes like it came from a can probably), and the guac (but how hard is it to mess that up?) I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone I know. unfortunately. Very expensive for what we got.

Tacos were gross af, its more quiet than a library, there’s no difference between tacos de carnitas,pollo, and al pastor, they use the same dry ah meat for all of those just different sauce.

Not a ton of flavor but huge portions for the price. Large menu with lots of options. The red salsa was pretty good but the meat in both our meals was a little dry.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this place. The husband and wife duo that runs this place are super friendly and very family oriented. Oh, and the food... The FOOD 🤌🤌🤌 DELICIOUS! This place is a definite staple in the city!!

Pretty good Mexican food, I got the chimichanga and it was pretty big. Was accidentally given shredded beef instead of ground beef. Didn't mind though, their shredded beef is actually pretty good compared to most places. My partner got the tacos with chicken and said he liked them as well. Their guacamole is some of the best I've had and I'm really picky about my guac.

Food was cooked to temp, and fresh, their sauces, and overall flavor were mom and pop American bland.

Took some of my family member's with me, went once a while ago. (Good experience 1st visit, expected the same) we ordered our meals, my cousin ordered “the burrito” the meat was super hard, over cooked. She took a bite, and immediately no. She expressed how she felt. They did not care, STILL charged us for a meal she touched once. We wanted a refund for the meal, the guy put up a fuss instead of apologizing about the situation (made us feel like we were in the wrong) HIGHLY disappointed, won’t be returning.

We've been going to El Alamo for like 15 years. Always great service. The food has always been fantastic. Wish it was closer to our house, but well worth the trip.

Haven’t had mole since my great aunt passed away almost 5 years ago. This brought me back and was so so good. Best mole in town and I can’t wait to visit again!

Ordered the Beef Chimichanga with Sour Cream & Guacamole. It was delicious. The hot sauce was authentic to Acapulco and the chips were made on site. One of the best Mexican restaurants in Nebraska!

This place is located in the HEART of South 24th Street. I'm pretty sure i parked on a sidewalk nit couldn't tell because of the snow. My order would have been HARD to mess up; cheese enchilada and a side of refried beans. My husband is more complicated, carne asada tacos 🌮 with rice and beans. Got my order to go but came with salsa , fresh chips, limes and plastic cutterlery. Lots of napkins. Will DEF go back.

For 30 years this was our favorite Mexican restaurant in Omaha. Maybe favorite of any cuisine. The mole is great, as our the Margaritas. Not fast food, but friendly service. Love this place!

Best brand and price I've ever had.

This is our go to for Mexican food. So far I've tried : tamales, beef tostadas, asada (steak) fajitas, beans & rice, All Very good, good size portions. Chips & salsa are complimentary (both red & green) the red is perfect /not hot, for some heat we add some green to it. We love MargaritaS / on the rocks And our vote is for theirs being the Best in town. When We're having our own fiesta we pick up a big bag of flour chips & large salsa (so much easier than making them) & everyone loves it. + the staff is super nice. Another plus, MargaritaS to go! By the way, I'm very picky about Mexican food since that's what I was raised on & taught to cook.

Okay we've been eating at El Alamofor over 30 years . We love chips and dip and there is no better chicken burit anywhere. This is a mom and pop shop so do look for frills just good people and service

It was good Mexican food, even though I ordered Chicken flautas but got beef and in flour tortillas. However, they were good. Salsa and guacamole were excellent. Rice a d beans very good as wrll.

I had the tacos al pastor and lengua with pico and hot sauce. That and the free chips and salsa were delicious. I think we were waited on by the owners who were kindness itself. They also serve alcohol, in case anyone else was interested (I wasn't sure about some other Mexican restaurants in the area).

They always remember us. They have a dia de Los muertos art show until Nov. 2

We’ve been eating here for twenty years. The food is always good and the service may be a bit slow, but they treat you like family. My favorite is the enchiladas rancheras. The rice and beans are good, and it comes with a small serving of guacamole.

El servicio es muy lento, solo hay un tipo corriendo con bebidas y papas fritas y una mujer que intenta mantenerse al día con todas las mesas. La alfombra está sucia y los baños realmente necesitan un poco de trabajo. Es una pena porque es una buena ubicación, pero necesita ser reformada. Las salsas ya no son buenas, la salsa roja es muy acuosa y la salsa verde es demasiado salada. La comida frita no tiene buen sabor y vino un poco quemada.
