Our waitress Rachael was the best. She was attentive, funny and very down to earth. The place was packed and she never made us feel rushed. Food was great and the drinks were perfect. People, please be nice to and take care of your waitress/waiter. To the group of 5 woman who couldn’t figure out basic math, blamed their waitress and then stiffed her on the tip even after she waited on your every beck and call and comped part of your meal…just stay home next time, nobody needs your negativity.

Best restaurant in wolfeboro. Great service, sometimes a hair on the slow side, but it's popular and they take the time to do things right. 5 stars regardless. My review is limited to the cocktail menu, the guacamole, and the steak fajitas, which I've sampled extensively, but they are all beyond excellent.

Amazing little spot tucked away in Wolfeboro! The margaritas are perfect and the food is delicious. We got the Baja tacos and Chile en Nogada!

Queso appetizer was a just a dish of melted cheese with a thick layer of grease on top and only served with flour tortillas. Are those to absorb the grease? Chips for queso were extra. Can't eat queso once even slightly cooled down. Quickly turned into a sticky greasy mess. Red enchiladas tasted like chicken parm. The margaritas were great, the steak tacos were good, and the staff were friendly and attentive. But tacos came with no sides for $28. Nearly everything was an uncharge. Well over $100 for the queso, two subpar dinners and drinks. I happily pay more for quality, but sorry, this is not it.

Stumbling upon this treasure in the charming town of Wolfeboro was a treat; the cuisine and hospitality were top-notch, and the spot was ideal for firework spectating. And the margaritas? Absolutely divine.

Had dinner with my family on a Saturday night. Food was excellent. Authentic sauces. Great house specials. Go with the recommendations you wont be steered wrong. Was a great night to sit outside and sip a marg and sangria while enjoying some delicious food. Service was great too. Attentive. Food came out timely. Overall just a really nice night out in Wolfeboro.

We always enjoy El Centenario in Wolfeboro. We go over by boat and walk to the restaurant. The owners are from Puebla, MX and their food is authentic Mexican. Mom Beatrice, daughter Racquel, and son Izzy (chef) are wonderful. The margaritas are terrific, especially the jalapeño version. The mole is amazing. We have tried many of their entrees and they are all delicious. Highly recommend. Tip: best to go during non-holidays and busy times.

We have had lunch/dinner/drinks here over the years and always enjoy our visit. The food is fresh and delicious - it's our favorite place to go for dinner....the guacamole is especially good!

I've been several times and the food has always been excellent. The flavors and ingredients are very close to authentic Mexican food.

My family and I stopped in for lunch as we were passing through on our weekend getaway. I’m so glad we did. The service was great and the food was very good!! There was a good variety of choices for different palates. Definitely stop by!

Dropped in for a drink. My airbnb is in walking distance. Quiet ambiance for 8pm. I ordered a red sangria and decided to grab carnisada tacos to go. It was nice to overhear the waitstaff helping some teens with their Spanish. Sat next to a lady celebrating her birthday 🎂 🥳. Good 🍸 with a laid-back atmosphere.

What a fun intimate place to enjoy delicious food! We did have to wait for a table as it was very crowded but it was worth the wait. The servers were working non stop but were very pleasant. Excellent house margaritas!

Got takeout. Restaurant did not appear busy when I picked up our food. The ted enchilada sauce tasted like spaghetti sauce. Way overpriced for the quality of the food.

The food was great, I usually do a great job picking my food, the three enchiladas were great, my other half got the cochinita pibil, and I was jealous after getting to try it. I love that they have expanded the outdoor seating since my last visit. I'm looking forward to trying more next time.

Great mexican food and a cool location! Good outdoor seating and a short walk into town. Service was quick and all the food was delicious. I would recommend the Baja California Tacos!

We got the steak fajitas which were delicious and very tender with a side of habanero salsa and queso fundido. The house margarita was great as well.

Google (updated by business) says it’s open for lunch but it’s closed for lunch today (weds). The food is basically the best in wolfeboro though

Website says they close at 10, Google days they close at 9. Today they closed at 830. They actually close when they feel like it. Food relies too much on therir crema (goo) and the fajita is good if you like nothing more than onions. Another bad restaurant in Wolfeboro.

Food is typically fairly fast to arrive but last time we went, it must've been over 30 minutes before it arrived and half the tables were empty. I ordered the shrimp tacos and there was only one small shrimp per taco, disappointing.

Been going here for years. Defiantly not the same owners. Food was ok but lack presentation and extremely overpriced.

What kind of Mexican restaurant doesn’t have hot sauce?

Fabulous place! We live in Cleveland OH and it has tons of restaurants of every type. Total foodie town (Michael Symon has multiple restaurants there). Our favorite Mexican places there, the ones that are busy and packed all the time are not as good as El Centenario! Both of us LOVED our meals! Kudos to the chef! Also, service was excellent as it was national TEQUILA DAY and I asked for a specific drink made with tequila and they went above and beyond to accommodate. Lastly, the manager( I think, she seemed to be the one in charge) made sure everyone was taken care of when the storm was approaching. Made room for all of us inside! Great place! Not to be missed for sure!

Thought this looked fantastic. Went later in day because they said no reservations & very busy in summer. Went at 715. Ordered drinks & chips & salsa & gauc. 2 out of 6 drinks came with salt when we didnt want salt. 2 hrs later we did not have meals. We were sitting outside & beetles attacked us which was not their fault but it was now 9 pm. We said we wanted meals to go. Got the bill it was 245 for 6! We ordered tacos! We waited another 15 min to pack the meals. We got home & we were charged $4 for tiny containers of cheese, pico & guac. The shrimp tacos had 1 shrimp for taco for $24! We were totally disappointed. The menus appeared so good but service was SLOW and food was not worth the price.

This is one of the few places in the area that has kept its prices reasonable. They were super busy when we came, and short staffed. But they never made us feel pressured, and still gave us personalized service. I was impressed with the presentation of the food; even the kid's food! And it was much more authentic than many other Mexican places. Don't expect what you get in Taco Bell! I would certainly go again.

Food absolutely smacked oh my lord kudos to the chef but our food to a ridiculously long time to get. They said they had a new kitchen but I’ve experienced long waits more then once. They also had a cool lion cup

I would love to give this place a 5-star review but due to the service I cannot do that. The food was really good— that wasn’t the issue. It must have been an off night because this place has rave reviews! We waited over 90 minutes for our food before we asked about where it was. Our waitress didn’t come over in that time period, which is pretty crazy. Not for drink refills or anything else. We went up to ask what happened because everyone around us was being served but us— the printer had broke but we were not told. It is unfortunate that it broke but I think the bare minimum would be to just tell us that the kitchen was behind/printer had broke. Yet, again, that was not done. They forgot one of the meals when the food did come out 2 hours later :( Our waitress just said that she doesn’t control how fast the kitchen works. But that wasn’t the issue, really just a lack of communication all around on all ends.

Decent Mexican food. Good margaritas. Food took a long time to come out. We went REALLY early to avoid the rush on this rainy holiday weekend night.

Food was amazing some of the best chicken qusadillias I've had and they definitely are not shy on the cheese they put in them! Highly recommended and quality was very good! Fast friendly atmosphere

A quality Mexican restaurant that serves both standard Mexican fare as well as some lesser-known dishes. It's a little on the pricey side but is well wirth it. Try the Paella, the Chili en Nogada, the Mole Poblano, and the Nachos.

The food was wonderful! The tamales with mole was delicious and serving size made for two meals! It could not be eaten in one setting. The staff were friendly and answered any questions we had about their dishes. I would definitely recommend!

A few dishes arrived late and the atmosphere was a bit loud. But very friendly service and the food had excellent taste and presentation.

We had the Mole Poblano, which was very good. The salsa tasted like it came out of a jar though. Very good service for a busy night. Very small and a bit loud.

We went there for the first time for a birthday and it was a cute place and service was friendly. The food was good, had some Queso and chips and salsa and Paella. The Paella was excellent. I was disappointed at the overpriced margaritas. $18 for a Cadillac and a $12 house for a small glass. Service was friendly but not great, we were left waiting a while for things with no one stopping by to check.

Worst Mexican food. The enchiladas roja sauce tasted like marinara sauce. The guacamole was brown and had no flavor, rice and beans had no flavor nor did the shrimp tacos and my daughter’s food had a hair in it! We got take out so we weren’t able to dispute the bill. Not sure how this place has such good reviews. We won’t be back!

Have eaten here a few times. The astronomically priced shrimp quesadillas were pretty good but they charge you for tiny sized extras like rice, beans (not the best tasting) and Pico de Gallo. The dish comes with miniscule amounts of sour cream and guac, so one cannot enjoy the whole dish for the lack of them. Another time I ordered the tacos but dint like the pickled onions on them. Rachel is an excellent waitress...very personable and attentive!

Truly exceptional food, drinks and service.

We (2)were seated for one hour . 2 dinners 1 entree 5 top shelf margaritas. 2 guests late. One drink still on table. We were asked to leave to make room for waiting patrons. Explained waiting for 2 others .who had phoned, Not asked about deserts not interested in drink still on table. 2 females 83 yrs and one younger. They would have had more dinners and drinks plus take out. Will never return and won’t refer .

We have been going to El Centenario for almost ten years, starting from when Izzy's mom from Oaxaca was there, to Izzy's chef years, and now with Cesar as chef. We have been to the local towns deep in the heart of Mexico and Oaxaca and the food here is just like the home-cooked meals there. The mole is delicious. I haven't written a review in years, but went to El Centenario today for a birthday lunch and was inspired to write again. We definitely recommend this restaurant if you desire authentic Mexican cuisine.

The Chiles en Nogada is amazing!

The staff was so stressed out do to being understaffed. This made it uncomfortable for patrons. Food was not great rice and beans cold fajita chicken too big and thick. Do not recommend.

This place is phenomenal. Awesome vegetarian options. Service was wonderful. Our server today was lovely (Saturday afternoon 9/24/22). Just unreal. Just go there already. And tip well.

We called in a carry out order for two order of steak fajitas and an order of chips and queso. It was about $80. Let’s start with the fajitas. There were literally four small slices of skirt steak in each container. Four. Less than two ounces of meat. And definitely like a whole onion’s worth of onions and a whole pepper’s worth of peppers so.. I guess that would be good except they were kind of limp and tasteless. I want you all to know that I have ordered SO many orders of fajitas in my life, and I have never paid $30 for four small scraps of meat. It’s shameful, really. Now let’s discuss the chips and queso. Actually it’s funny they bothered to give us the chips at all. I guess they wanted us to slice it into pieces and put it on top of the chips? Do they understand that there is a creation called “queso” that is a liquid cheese dip? At first, I was mad. Now, I’m embarrassed for them. It’s like watching a scene in a movie where the guy confesses his love for the girl because he thinks she feels the same, except that she was really about to say that she is engaged to his brother. This queso was that bad. Run-out-of-the-room-in-embarrassment-bad. Can I legit have my money back?

Dear God, don’t eat here. We just spent $60 plus tax and tip on two orders of steak fajitas that literally had 4 pieces of meat in each container. The chips and queso was literally a container of shredded cheese melted into a styrofoam container. This is the worst Mexican restaurant I have ever been to. This is not an exaggeration. Taco Bell is better. Can I have my $80 back?

Authentic Mexican, made to order, good selection of menu items, from Tacos to fajitas, just to name a few, very good guacamole. Good selection of drink choices, especially a variety of margaritas to choose from. Offers both indoor (limited) and outdoor seating. If you like authentic Mexican, worth a visit. Get there early, and enjoy outdoor dining.

I would give five stars. BUT We asked for a seat away from the entrance/exit and the restaurant was empty and the hostess wouldn’t seat us anywhere else.

Drinks were well priced and tasty. Wife was in the mood for a tequila seltzer with lemon and they made it no problem. Did not eat here

Our evening was turned around by our fantastic server, Amy, and delicious food! Amy made every effort to make our experience great despite a very long wait and the food was fresh and delicious!! Highly recommended!

Our group of four had margaritas and dinner. The dinners were flavorful, drinks were good, service was attentive and friendly. My only criticism was it was a bit hot in the restaurant. I’m not sure if there was AC but the doors were open and the fans were blowing. Nonetheless it did not slow the service. Ice water was replaced quickly. We only waited a few minutes for a table at 5:15 on a Sunday evening.

We live in Mexico 5 months a year. So I have had a lot of Mole sauce in my time. The most authentic Mole I’ve had in the US. It’s seems such a basic dish but it was amazing. My wife had the Chile en Nogada and that was amazing too. 10 out of 10 recommend dining here.

We arrived at 9 pm, 1 hour before posted closing time with an out of town guest and told they were closed in a very rude tone. Since we had eaten there at 9:30 pm multiple times this year we inquired as to why. At first they said they were out of ice. As we watched them make drinks with what was obviously lots of ice, they changed their story. Now they said they had to close early because they were the only restaurant that was open that night. After pointing out that this excuse made no sense (one would think they would stay open at least till posted closing if not later being the only restaurant open) they then said that they were running out of food. With three of their employees, including a "manager" serving a continuous and increasingly loud verbal barrage of "we are closed" they said we could order take out and leave. Only 3 items on then menu weren't available. Hmmm, so much for being out of food. It ended with the manager telling us "you can either order take out or go to one of the other restaurants in town that are closed". Basically saying FU. Being rude, snarky and lying to your local patrons will come back to haunt them in the off season. We won't be going back and will encourage others to stay away.

Happened to be walking by. The wait staff were natural and accommodating. The food is fantastic fresh and delicious. I could not decide and asked our waitress for a recommendation and she was not wrong. Great place.

Very expensive. Our waiter was not good and did not know the menu. Ended up not getting what we wanted and paid more for it. Ran out of water during diner. I don't usually review but this was such a bad experience I thought I would.

The worst experience I ever had at a restaurant. Waited an hour for drinks and they were not made right. The owner told everyone they were serving takeout and no more seating. Who runs a restaurant that way? Oh and they didn’t have takeout. No bartender either. We won’t be back.

Strictly mediocre Mexican food. The tamales were dry, caky, and flavorless. Enchiladas were unseasoned chicken thrown under what tasted like marinara sauce & Parm. Coming from Denver I wasn't sure what I ate or why it cost $22. Wait staff slaps though!

Okay, that was rough. Not sure what you guys think "authentic" means, but it's not what you think it means. Nice enough, atmosphere pretty decent, presentation saves this place. The prices are also astronomical considering the fact that everything comes out of a can and the burrito was twenty percent steak. Canned marinara, sweet tomato rice and the cherry on top... THREE DOLLARS for A THIMBLE of hot sauce. Ridiculous. Two stars thanks to presentation.

Fast service, tasty food - carnitas and Caesar salad with chicken. Super polite server named, Dan, bartender and chef. Friendly way of making you feel welcome. Would recommend and will return. They do take out as well!

AMAZING authentic Mexican food! We can't wait to go back. We couldn't even wait to take photos we dug in first. Who knew a simple chicken quesadilla could be SO good! The staff was sweet, attentive, knowledgeable and caring. Highly recommend!!

Our 1st time here even after living in the area for almost 4 years...yeah I know a tad bit too long to wait for this deliciousness. Wow did they exceed my taste buds. The food was amazing and our waitress was friendly, cheerful and fantastic. A new Staple in our local eatery. We will be back many times. Cheers to the kitchen staff as well!

Very very good food. It was pretty pricey for 2 of us with drinks, appetizers and dinner but the food was really good. We will definitely be back for date nights.

My daughter and I wound up here on a last minute weekend adventure. She had a burrito off the kids menu and I had enchiladas. She loved the burrito (which is high praise from a picky 9 year old) and the enchiladas were excellent. Highly recommend this spot.

The food is consistently delicious. A great mix of crowd-pleasers and authentic Mexican cuisine: chiles en nogada, fajitas & margaritas, sopa Azteca, fresh guacamole - super tasty. The place is a little small for how much business it gets so you're better off going early or late, when they're not so slammed. The food gets five stars, the servers get at least four and a half - quite good, considering how busy they get. The location could use some improvement: I'd be happier if they took over the whole block!

Taco meat is waaaaaaay too greasy. Every time I get takeout I have to drain the grease from the taco meat and it’s still dripping after that. Hopefully they fix this soon :) it was $18 for 4 taco shells with meat and cheese which I wouldn’t mind if I didn’t have to go through the hassle of trying to drain all the grease.

I'm from San Diego so my expectations are a bit unrealistic when it comes to Mexican food..... And here we were.... IMPRESSED!!! Keep on doing what you're doing we absolutely loved everything! We had amazing guac, the puchinos I think they were called were 🔥👌 I had the Chicken Poblana which I absolutely loved and my bf had the ribeye which was real great quality meat and cooked to absolute perfection. That's where I'm going for a steak fix 😍 We were pleased to find such great food in this little gem of a town 😍💙🙏🤩 great job guys! Service & atmosphere were perfect as well 👌 Nicely Done!
