Delicious. Had the ceviche and carapulcra. They were out of chicha but their maracuya was very good. Will definitely come back.

Nice little local place for either Italian or Peruvian food located on San Pablo Dam Road in El Sobrante. Food was pretty good, and nice portions. Atmosphere was a bit bland, no fancy decor or anything. This local restaurant surprisingly survived the pandemic and did not close like so many other "mom and pop" type restaurants. They must be doing something right!

Best kept secret of El Sobrante: El Chalan, Peruvian and Italian restaurant, offers a family atmosphere with great food at a good price. Warm bread and butter is served from the beginning. Their roast 1/2 chicken and whole fried trout, with home style french fries are very popular. Their sea food dishes, especially the seafood soups are delicious. The Italian food is also excellent. Butter nut squash raviolis, gnocchi, and spaghetti are cooked perfectly. Kids love this place.

cute place. Small and home-y. Food was very tasty. Lomo w/pesto noodles was great and very filling. Chicken chicharon came with a very tasty dip. Will be back

It use to be a place for great food at reasonable price. At my last visit, I paid $90 (tip included) for two soups and two lunch plates. My friend was in disbelief. Still a good place if you crave Peruvian food.

One of the best food I have ever eaten. it was a delicious my kids loved it. The pasta was great bread and Bardar was great and fresh. the appetizer was very good. I love it here. Come back to try another food here. The price was reasonable. my wife and I finished our Whole Foods and my son ate lots of his dishes.

Bad service, the waitress was in a bad mood, her excuse was that she was tired. It doesn’t matter what is going on in your life, people expect good service. On top on that, I wanted to use the bathroom but was denied access because it was “out of service” I had to go across the street to use the gas station’s bathroom. Never coming back.

Feel bad to say it, but it is the worst Peruvian food in town and rude people attending. Definitely Not recommended .

Worst service. The old lady( looking like messy ) was super rude. Bad service dirty and food no even good. Also watch out when they give you the quart oof chicken, they always cut a part of it

A no-frills, super authentic Peruvian restaurant that tastes like it does in Peru. Ceviche, lomo saltado, tallarín, and the pollo a la brasa are excellent. Great for a big group as portions are generous.

Check your bill before you pay!!!! And use your calculator if needed!! The lady owner who charge increase prices at the bill and charges more/ give wrong changes back!!! In addition service is bad!!!!!!!! Plus place is no clean as suppose to be! Food mmmm I prefer 100% el mono rest. That is close by! As a Peruvians this type of service disappoint me!!! Unbelievable that now a days people still do that!!

My favorite Peruvian restaurant! But surprisingly, also a delicious Italian restaurant! My favorites are the Asado de Carne, Chupe de Camarones, and Lasagna (and I am a lasagna fanatic, so its hard to make it to the top of my list like this). The restaurant has a small quaint feel to it, but it is so worth going here for the food! Also make sure you get the Alfajores cookies, they are so delicious! We always have to take extras home with us when we leave. You can't eat just one! So good, highly recommend this restaurant.

Strictly based on Chicken Parm...I just had one to go. Tastes like what I get in a Jersey Strip Mall Italian joint, and there's no higher compliment. A CHICKEN PARM IN EL SOBRANTE AT A PERUVIAN RESTAURANT? YES!

the beef anticuchos were taken off the menu, what a mistake. ordered aji de gallina, was missing the corn & flavor, as well as the olive. would not bother ordering again.

Primarily Peruvian with several Italian dishes on the last page of the menu. I've been to a lot of Peruvian restaurants all over the country. This is a solid choice.

Good stuff. First time at any Peruvian place but it's also Italian (weird, not sure why but maybe that's normal?) Hole in the wall type atmosphere but very light and bright. My food and my wife's food almost seemed like a mix of Latin and Asian. I got roast beef with a tomato based beef sauce with a hint of Cilantro. Meat was tender and shredded apart easily. It came with flavorful rice AND mashed potatoes (which was more chunky with hint of garlic as opposed to a whisked creamy type). A bunch of the kids in our group got Italian stuff and it looked and smelled good. They served hot French bread too. What looked like the cooks came out and were very friendly. Server was helpful. Prices seemed a tad high but local fresh food ain't cheap so I think it's warranted. I highly recommend it.

They have their good days and their not so good days. The prices are a bit steep for what you're getting.

One of the best Peruvian Restaurants in town. Highly recommended the traditional ceviche, lomo saltado, rice with seafood, papa a la huancaina, pasta, pollo a la brasa and more.....don't forget to try their delicious desserts such alfajores, picarones and lucuma ice cream.

I didnt know what Peruvian food was like.....i ended up with a combination i did not expect....herbed spaghetti noodles with grilled chicken...not sure if it was a traditional combo or if they just put that together for my undistinguished palate....It was very lightly seasoned which i like, all edible lean pieces of chicken and it was really quite a lot of food for $11.00.

Taste great, got both lomo saltado and suprema de pollo, with the biggest piece of chicken i have ever seen, the suprema was breaded fried, and delicious, it came with a small salad fries and steamed rice. The saltado came with red onions, beef, potatoes, sliced red peppers, all stir fried with a side of steamed rice. Amazing i will certainly be back.
