Need a bigger place. Need consistency in the drinks.

Went for dinner last night and that made 2 trips for me, the first and last! The chips were stale, the food was bland, and the margaritas tasted like they had no alcohol at all. The only thing this place has going for them is the waitress we had.

Love the El Torrito Salad and Big Miller Lite

The food I ordered was bland. The service was awesome. But I expect spice in a Mexican restaurant. After 3 times, I won't eat there again.

Excellent quick Mexican cuisine.

It’s hard to find a Mexican place that excels in all three important basics: salsa, queso, and margaritas, but El Charolais has achieved this trifecta! Their hot spicy salsa is amazingly zingy. The queso is hard to stop eating. And the classic margarita on the rocks is boozy and delightful. Every menu item we have tasted was perfectly cooked and delicious. I recommend the taco salads in the shell, especially. My husband loves their fajitas! 10/10 highly recommend if you have a craving for Mexican food.

The food was typical Mexican style food. Was good but nothing special. The service could use a little bit of touching up. Everything was nice and clean but It seems a little tight for space. The men's bathroom seem to be locked the whole time I was in the restaurant. The parking lot is kind of a challenge to get in and out of. If I'm in town then I'm hungry for some Mexican food I would certainly visit again.

Went there to eat they seated 4 of us we waited for 30 minutes did not even get a waiter to came and take our drink order so we left and went a different place

Fantastic! From out of town and got the fried tilapia, it was perfect! Just like I had as a kid! Everyone else enjoyed their meals. Service was quick.

The food was good but the server only came over a total of two times. The girls at the checkout seemed more interested in gossiping then they did and their actual job.

Cheese dip Two salsas and tocó hot sauces mm mmm good Pollo tapatío is great … ask for the lunch portion if you do not want rice and beans … you can choose rice or beans and save some dinero Service is great ! And quick … Shout out to my man Jordaniel ! No food left in pic that’s a good sign …

I can’t say enough good things about El Charolais De Elizabtethton. Having lived in southern California for the better part of a decade, I’ve developed a special appreciation for authentic Mexican cuisine. My uncle and I were passing through here recently and we decided to stop in….. They did NOT disappoint. The bartender and servers made sure we were taken care of and were extremely friendly even though they were slammed. The chips, salsa, guacamole and queso were SOOOOO good. So much so that we were full before our entrees came and had to take them to go. They made for a delicious dinner later on that night. The best authentic Mexican food I’ve found in the area. Next time I’m passing through I’ll be sure to stop back by. Thank you!

I get the fajitas most of the time. I ordered them today and it did not come out sizzling as usual. The onions, green peppers were mushy and steak cold. Do they think we are stupid? Giving us old food and passing it off as fresh. $22 dollar meal and just took it home to my dog. Service was great as always but this time the fajitas were dog food.

My first time ordering from here. I've got to say, allot of different items to choose from. Great menu. The food was really good and next time, I might just go in and eat. But in all, it was very good!! (I forgot to take pic earlier of my Taco Salad, but here it is after I've eaten almost all of it...lol)

All around the BEST MEXICAN PLACE IN THE TRICITIES area. My family absolutely loves El Charolais and we will eat here as often as possible. Great food, great people, and it's just a great place to eat.

Hands down the best Mexican food in Elizabethton, TN! I just moved here from Dallas Texas, my family is Mexican, I’ve been to Mexico throughout most of my childhood … and I’m telling you this place is authentic Mexican food! Love the environment, the food, the aquas frescas (tropical drinks) and the authenticity of the dishes. From the Salsa to the music in the restaurant this place is as legit as they come!

Great food, service would be great however they are Very Stingy on salsa. I purchase $100 in food and they said each order gets the same amount of salsa as any other.If I ordered and paid each meal seaperately I would get the same amount if salsa as any order no matter how many meals I pay for, unless they charge me way more for the salsa. I even paid 6$ for a small side of queso blanco .That eliminates any tip, however on to go orders I am not tipping on because no service provided.

Food was tasty overall. In the Costeno onions were a little black. Fajitas were good as usual. Pollo Tapatio is spicy and delicious.

Will not be going back to eat here again. My granddaughter found a hair in her tacos, couldn't eat the rest of her food. My creamy cheese I got to poor over my meal, was half creamy cheese and bean soup hidden at the bottom of bowl. I showed it to the waitress said you already have beans in your main course theirs a little extra instead of taking it back and changing it. My granddaughters boyfriends meal was tasteless he couldn't even eat that. Not a good experience.

The people there were great as always. But this place is going the same route as other restaurants. The quality has dropped as well as the amount of food you get. The sauce was more like pasta sauce and the quesadilla had been reheated so many times that it was stuck to the foil. Restaurant owners are so scared of cutting into their own profits but are gonna push themselves out of business.

The only thing I could say that could be negative is that their pricing varies. It seems to always be a different price. Me and my husband always get the same thing (I know boring) but it’s never been the same price. We don’t eat there as much as we did because the prices have went up. But their food truly is amazing, we only get the same thing now because we have ate there so much that we found what we love!! I recommend at least giving them a try.

Every time I go to this restaurant they are very quick and getting you a table and very attentive. The cost of the food that you get is below what it could cost. The food is almost always perfect. And if it's not, you can send it back. And they will gladly make it the way you like.

This place is outstanding. I have been many times and never had a bad experience. The only complaint ( if you can call it that ) is that the food burns my tongue. A welcome change from what I’m used to. Seriously, this is what restaurants should aim to be. I usually get the server Miriam , and she is seriously on top of it. If you’re reading that this, I’m really picky, and could not possibly recommend this place more.

Solid local Mexican restaurant. The staff is friendly, environment is lively and fun, and the food is delicious. It's often busy, but we've never had to wait to long at all. Definitely worth a visit if you're hungry in elizabethton!

I had the shrimp al diablo, but since I'm on a low-carb diet, I didn't have the salsa & chips, rice, or beans, so I can't rate them. The shrimp and the salad were excellent. The diablo sauce is very spicy and very good, but you don't like the heat, proceed with caution 🌶🌶

The food was terrible. Perhaps some of the worst food I've had. I can tolerate some ok food, but this was bad enough where I gave up after a few bites.

I ordered the Burrito Deluxe all chicken to go. It was ready promptly. This meal could have been a solid 4 star maybe a 5 star but the food was soaked with water. I'm guessing the lettuce and/or chicken was too wet ?? Soggy flour tortillas ruined the meal.

Tonight was my second visit here for dinner on a Saturday night. Although they were busy and nearly at capacity, I have 0 complaints here. It did take a few minutes for my server to take my drink order but again, very crowded with several large groups dining. Food came out hot, fresh and definitely tastey just as my last visit. This is going to be your go to Mexican restaurant for anyone in Elizabethton to Stoney Creek. As an additional note, portion sizes are generous and I'm a big boy! Both times I have taken some of my dinner choice home with me (always a benefit, leftovers!)

My favorite Mexican restaurant in town! The service can be spotty, but man the food is good!! I’ve never had a bad meal there. I tend to get the fajitas and they can be a bit pricey but definitely worth it! Queso is worth trying too!

I have the tacos twice so far because they are excellent, but I am looking forward to many other dishes on their menu. They have a full bar and tap beer. Be careful ordering a large cerveza as it is very large. All in all, it is a great local place for Mexican food.

Last minute decision for an early dinner as we were driving through and so glad we stopped here. The service and food were excellent! Would highly recommend!

Update 2023: al pastor is anything but traditional. The menu is more appealing than last time. If you like lime in your green Chile enchiladas this is for you. SALSA not good. Rank 2020: this is more like taco bell of mexican restaurants. then again I from New Mexico.

Been going there for several years and tonight was eating a fajitas salad and bit into something and found it was an earring not a small earring but anyway that seamed to disturb the service because I had to keep asking for things that had already been ordered they didn’t charge me for what I ordered but it seemed I was ignored because I’d had the issue I was very disappointed in how it was handled I recommend puerto Nuevo or la carona

I'm from Cali where Mexican food is done right and every Hispanic restaurant out their is very authentic and food is on point. Out here on the east it's not made the same it's not nearly as good. it has been hard to find Mexican restaurants that are actually authentic, probably due to the lack of diverse culturI. It has been so sad for us because not only do we miss the food but we miss the culture! 🥹 very happy to have found this restaurant where the food is authentic and similar to what I remember from back home. We will definitely be regulars🥰
