Overpriced, long wait and relatively small portions. (Most similar places I can make 2 meals out of one order)

Love this place. Second time here and we are always seated and served quickly. For some reason everything just feels more homemade / from scratch here.

The food and service are always reliable and great.

Waitress served us steak chimachangas and we told her no vegatables,and no salad,food was served cold with vegetables and salad,the price was more then the menu price,the chips and dip was the only thing any good,will not go back,and after looking at some of the reviews they did add there on tips,and they are not as good as they use to be,you can tell it's not the same people as 3 years ago

Worst Mexican restaurant you can go to in the area. Horrible service , horrible food. Lady took my card and they held onto my card for over 15 minutes. Lord knows why. I did not leave a tip because it was the worst, so they decided to add their own five dollar tip . I took a picture of my receipt because I thought this may happen. I will be following up. Trash restaurant. Save your money, go literally anywhere else.

Used to be a great little hole-in-the-wall Mexican place with great food and service. Now it seems like they don’t care anymore. Service is meh, and the food is absolutely lousy. They’re just getting by on their old reputation at this point. Not going back.

We finally found a new favorite Mexican restaurant. We moved here 3 months ago and have tried a lot with no luck. This is such an amazing restaurant. 💞

Taco salad inedible. Wilted lettuce, meat was not beef! Some type of finely ground meat.. like cheap ground turkey. Daughter ordered shredded beef chimichanga, recieved chicken. Cheese pizza was microwaved and soggy. Don't waste your money

My food was horrible. My happy plate vegetables were not cooked. The side salad was not a side salad looked like something you would put on a sandwich not a Salad. The taste of the food was not so great. I noticed on my card the worker took out a tip after I did not leave one. Horrible experience never coming back.

1. The queso doesn't come with salsa...like what kind of Mexican restaurant doesn't give you salsa with the Cheese...just a money making thing ! And then it was a little watered down but it was still good. Ig.

Waitress acted like we were bothering her. Food was meh, ordered a taco salad that had no lettuce and a whole green pepper. Ordered some guacamole and received 2 tablespoons for $4.00 and tasted like eating lemons. Got refills on mine and my son’s sodas, mine Coke, his Dr. Pepper, she mixed the two. I hate Dr. Pepper. It has one handicap spot and it is very difficult to get a wheelchair into the business. We would not recommend this restaurant.

Decent Mexican restaurant that is close to work. The chips are often old tasting like the oil could be changed. I usually get the chicken lunch fajitas. The food is ok, but portions are skimpy. A place to go for lunch but nothing special.

Food was terrible the frozen margaritas did not have any liquor in it

When we walked in staff was impolite and we had to wait before anyone wanted to take our order.If I had to rate my overall experience it was terrible.

The food was so good that i wish I didn't have to leave this review. I screwed up & gave the waiter my debit card to cash my ticket out, not knowing that you pay your own bill up front. About 3 days later, my bank account is being hit for $300 construction (flooring) supplies out of Mexico. Called to talk to the manager to let him know that he had an employee committing fraudulent activity by way of my credit card & he said it wasn't his problem. Review would have easily been 5 stars if manager hadn't taken up for a thief employee. By the way, this was the only place that I had handed someone my card for my business account in weeks. So I know this happened here. All other transactions for this trip was done on my personal account. My bank took care of everything & put the money back in my account, but they shouldn't of had to.

Absolutely delicious! Staff was welcoming and very friendly! We are in town passing through on way home to Oklahoma. We decided to try here based on the reviews and recommendation of the staff at hotel. So glad we did! Waiter was awesome and helped us have a great experience. Food was some of the most flavorful and delicious Mexican cuisine we’ve had in a while. I definitely recommend. Very pretty and beautiful decor as well. I loved the booth seats and the stained glass windows. So if you’re looking for a flavorful and beautifully seasoned meal, go check them out! Even our kids enjoyed their meals!

The staff was nice and polite. The food was hot and came out fairly quick. The decor was a little dated, and the seats were old, but that didn't take away from the food. Price was fair and would definitely go back.

Delicious food, kind people, less expensive than fast food chains and infinitely better quality! We are regulars by now. :)

I would have to agree with one of the previous reviews. The chips were cold, cheese dip runny, salsa and my food had no flavor at all!!! Just flavorless. I don’t go there often but now I remember why. It reminds me of something they might serve at a nursing home. Lol

This was a wonderful experience. This place deserves every bit of 5 stars. The staff is so incredibly friendly. I was greeted immediately with a smile. The atmosphere is fairly typical, but that's what makes it fun! The food was awesome. Probably the best beef tacos in town, I don't know what they season their beef with, but it is SO GOOD! I love everything about this place. I regret not coming here sooner. I will be a regular here for sure.

I love this place!! It is our goto Mexican restaurant. They are so fast and the food is great and it is inexpensive. What more can you ask for?! Kid friendly too

The only saving quality about the place is the fact that it is well decorated. We had large plate of nachos with cheese, onions, lettus, and some kind of burnt meat that we didn't eat. And two soft drinks and it was a whopping $43 and some cents.

After waiting over 20 minutes for our group to get our credit cards back from the waiter, people in our group had suspicious charges. Could have been a coincidence but with the situation at hand we highly doubt it.

This was a disaster. The food was OK but whenever we got ready to pay, it took him forever to come take our card and once he did take our card after 15 minutes we asked him where is our card and he said it’s at the front we then proceeded to the front, where there was a line of about 10 people, once we got to the end of the line, then our server comes grab the card which had already been ran and handed it to me to sign we could’ve done that 20 minutes earlier awful experience

I would not even give them a 1 star but i have to in order to post.. I was charged 75$ for 2 kids chickens tenders and fry..2 chicken tacos..a small bean burrito and drinks.. and It wasn't even that good. -5 stars I WILL NEVER GO BACK ..I should have just went to Papitos which I HIGHLY RECOMMEND

It was my first and last time trying this place. It was so disgusting. I don’t even understand how someone can mess up a beef burrito & a enchilada but they both had such a funny taste to it.

The customer service at this restaurant was the worst I've ever Experienced. I ordered a chicken to me Chimichanga it tasted like it had barbecue chicken in it the most bland barbecue chicken you could ever imagine wrapped in a flower tortilla and deep fried the manager would not even remove it from the bill not to mention he was rude and unprofessional. I've worked in the industry for years and I can't imagine that any of my managers would have ever acted the way this man acted

Hands down the greatest Mexican restaurant of all time. GOAT STATUS! The second best Mexican restaurant is leaps and bounds worse than El Charro. If I was on death row, my last meal would be a steak and shrimp quesadilla with a large queso and a stout a$$ margarita from this place. I’m fresh off of that meal as I write this, and I’ve never felt more alive. You know those hidden gems in every town/city? Well, El Charro is that gem but better. Exceptional service, tremendous atmosphere, great pricing, and outstanding food.

Great little place! Got there before the dinner rush so the service was super fast. We had enchiladas and nachos. All was delicious, your normal Mexican food.

AlwAys great. The waiters are just what a waiter should be. Perfect timing. I haven’t been there since Friday and writing this makes me want to go now. Perfect patrons margaritas on ice. That’s all you have to say. It’s a family restaurant so only one or two.

El Charro is our family’s favorite Mexican food of any we’ve tried near and far. The service and food is excellent and ever consistent!!! We have been eating here for over 17 years and the food and service is as good today as it was 17 years ago! Thank you for doing one thing and doing it well! Normally this place gets 4-5 stars but they weren't on point this time around. My Mi Chelada with a Sol was NOT TASTY IN THE LEAST! Normally they are superb but I guess everyone has "off" days. Then it seemed we weren't welcome bc the service was slacking , but we were the ONLY PEOPLE IN THE RESTAURANT......so......... we'll just say it was the 'Rona throwing folks off kilter...... yeah... the 'Rona.....

We've been eating here for probably 20 years and the food has always been good! Ramone has done a great job keeping this place going for the Jackson area.

The waiter and bartender were extremely polite, but didn’t hover. The food was the best I’ve had in decades from a Mexican restaurant. I have a supernaturally voracious appetite, and one meal filled me up for the entire day. This is now my favorite place to eat!

El Charro is one of my family's favorites. My husband and I love to order Queso Fundido. We love the atmosphere. The service is great. The employees are kind. I highly recommend El Charro!
