My favorite place to eat. It's relaxing. Very welcoming place to eat. Food is great, service is great. Alcohol drinks are the best in town and affordable.

Always served delicious and bountiful plates.of food by friendly wait staff.

Went to try this place hoping to like it, but as others have said in the reviews, the service was very slow. We say, ordered and got our drinks, but the server never came back for our food order. Got tired of waiting so we paid and left. Advice to management: please ensure service is prompt.

I've been going to the Kent area El Charro for many years now. Consistently awesome food, friendly staff, great bar area also! Interior has been redesigned since I've last been there, and I'm looking forward to seeing it soon!

Recently remodeled inside the restaurant and it looks very nice and is comfortable. The food is always delicious and fresh. The owners are friendly and enjoy conversing with the customers. Please support your local businesses!!

Very clean and cozy restaurant, lots of sitting area and separate bar section. Good service and the food was very good. I like places where they know to properly condiment the food. Some vegetarian options, I had the veggie burrito and 2 nopales asados were very good. I hear there is Karaoke on Friday and Saturday night. Found a new family friendly place to eat.

The serve yummy mexican food. Environment is nice. They have good karaoke. I go with friends and have fun doing karaoke while we eat our favorite Mexican food and drinks.

The owner of El Charro is very nice and personable. Their service has always been great and the food has never been disappointing. They offer reasonable prices and authentic Mexican food. Definitely worth a try if you're craving Mexican and in the area!

The waitress was so nice! The guacamole was browning - clearly days old - and didn't taste fresh. There were multiple flies on our table and our food during our dining experience. The food was overpriced for what I got. A tortilla with beef & cheese & a tiny spoon of guac isn't worth $20 in my opinion. Most Mexican food does not do weird things to my stomach, but this did. The next morning it had not settled well...

Ordered on line and went to pick it up but they didn't even have our order. Don't order on line call them because you get charged more when ordering on line. They quickly made our order but the food was terrible and the portions were smaller than you get if you eat there in the restaurant. I don't recommend this place any more.

Dry ground beef on enchiladas, no seasoning. Fiance got tortillas soup ... Dry chicken. Won't be back

this was my first time at this restaurant. IT will definitely not be my last! The staff was brilliant , the food was amazing incredibly delicious!!! You can tell the family loves each other and when you make food with love? That's why it taste so good!!!

I had high hopes for this place . And we left in disappointment . Food was just not that good. I ordered my go to “Arroz Con Pollo” .the sauce was okay but the rice was not good . Also it was kinda soupy so I had to get more rice to add to it.Service was attentive and I liked the atmosphere of this place overall.

The food was what I expected from a traditional Mexican restaurant. They did get my mom's order wrong (chicken burrito instead of beef) and it was missing the sauce on top, but my food was correct and I enjoyed it. The staff was friendly and attentive, and it looked like they had just put new flooring in the restaurant.

The only irritating thing was some really obnoxious customers. Food and service was great.

This place is so fun! After a certain time (not sure when exactly) they become an adults only restaurant bar. There is karaoke and lots of food and drinks to try. And, best of all if you like to dance that's an option there too!

I've been going to El Charro the majority of my life and when I want delicious food after a rough day, I definitely come here! Adding to that, they're now open on Mondays which has exponentially improved life. Always friendly faces and awesome regulars. As always, highly recommended.

Nice waitress. Unfortunately service was very slow. Only 1 other person in the restaurant! Food was not great and very bland. The guacamole was grey in some spots. I know this happens but should not be served to a customer! I felt it was expensive. Don't think I will eat there again!

Taco Tuesday is the best!!! All you can eat taco bar(in the bar) with a shot of tequila at the end. Great food and staff!

We like to come on the weekends for the karaoke. The restaurant and bar are clean and the service is great. The singing just adds on to the fun.

Went here with my grandma , we both really enjoyed lunch . My grandma is picky but loves chalupas . She enjoyed the one here and I enjoyed my pollo Al la crema. It’s hard to find places that still have chalupas on the menu , so we were very happy to see that . The server was happy and sweet. We will definitely be coming back the next time we grab Mexican food (:

First and probably only time coming here. Service was super slow, ordering was a pain, and trying to ask for even more water was a challenge. The drinks were mediocre at best. Presentation of food... Well... It's on a plate and off on some sides haha. The salsa was very watery and beans were just ok. The fajitas were ok, very little steak with a pile of peppers. It was hard to say what was good about the meal... Still trying to think of one. I have found that many of these places on East Hill are just "ok" and never anything special.

We will forever drive out of our way to eat here. A family favorite for over 20 years. Our favorite.

Stale chips, uncomfortable seat, food doesn’t taste good, great service but they were vacuuming right behind me. Very nice people but terrible food and seating. They only get 2 stars because of the friendly service, the food and seating alone is 1 star. I do not recommend.

I ordered Albondigas soup and it was not at all like any soup I’ve had at other restaurants. It had 4 meatballs (small) no veggies ( usually has zucchini, carrots and sometimes potato. It was a very small portion less than a cup. It was $14. That’s crazy!

Ate menudo and was so surprised to see how close it came to mine. It was pretty good. If you like ethnic Mexican food, I dont advice ordering the chile relleno unless you like the American kind that is wrapped in a very thin omelet.

I gave the place a fair shake. The lemonade is fantastic, the sevice is very courteous. The food however,... needs A LOT of work. I ordered the menudo which tasted like nothing but boiled meat water with a splash of tomato sauce. I also ordered a pina colada which tasted like thawed pineapple custard. Was completely cut and curdled. I only give them credit for the service.

El Charro has been a staple on Kent's East-hill. Their service is awesome, their food is delicious. Great place to eat if you like Mexican cuisine.

Delicious food and the staff is very friendly. I personally love the Mexican Pizza.

We always come here for a margaritas and karaoke at night. I've never eaten in the main restaurant but the bar, bartender and karaoke are all fun. The late night food is more expensive than you'd expect bit the guy that bartends is far above average so it kind of evens itself out. Local tip: don't leave valuables in your car, this is a high crime area.

Run away from this restaurant! The food was horrible and we were charged dinner prices for lunch!! Two enchilada combo meals that looked and tasted like day old leftovers. Dry bland rice and flat enchiladas with little filling and no sauce. They included a few chips and salsa but they were also stale. Food did not look freshly made for our order and it was barely warm. Don’t waste your money here, there are other GOOD Mexican restaurants in the area.

We have been visiting El Charro for over 15 years now. The service is excellent and the food is incredible tasty. We love it!

Came here on Thursday night and it was not busy at all. Very warm though the lady said the A/C works better in the bar but we had a child with us and could not sit there. I ordered the chicken fajitas and was not that impressed the veggies were burned and I mean like black burned, the chicken was tough and not seasoned well. The tortilla were hard and crunchy like a chip, when you broke the tortilla apart it made a snapping noise like a chip. My child got chicken taquitos and she loves them and had no complaints. For it not be busy the waitress was slow for refills of drinks ( which was surprising since they were not busy) and to bring the check.

My family has been coming here for a long time. It was my favorite restaurant when I was a teenager. Oh, how I loved the tacos. You know what? I still love it here and those tacos are still a big fave.

Didn't get five stars only due to the service, but the food alone is worth 5. The service was beyond frustrating (would be 3 or less stars if not for the benefit of doubt plus food quality). Ordering was a challenge and our waitress didn't bother writing things down, so she literally had to return to our table 3 additional times to clarify our two margarita orders. One of which was still wrong. Then there were multiple points where we just couldn't get her to visit our table including trying to pay the bill - it was frustrating because she would make eye contact and still go do other things. Regardless, the food was good so if we don't go back, I know we'll at least get the food for pickup in the future.

Moved to Kent in 2002. Found El Charro theu a friend's recommendation. Super tasty food and if you can't find a margarita you love here, you're too picky! Authentic carnitas, salsa verde is delicious and I can't think of a time this place has ever disappointed us.

My spouse and I decided to go there for lunch. I had the shrimp ceviche. A little different than previous cerviche as they didn't use a lot of vinegar. Despite the difference, the dish was still fresh and very tasty. My spouse had the chicken quesadilla and was equally good. Prices were very reasonable and the portions were a good size. The waitress very friendly.

I just had the most delicious fajitas for two at El Charro tonight. Tender steak and perfectly grilled veggies. The waitress was very friendly and the whole place is clean with nice decorations. We really enjoyed having dinner here tonight 😃

Great place, good food reasonably priced.

Food was authentic and staff was really nice. I ordered the molcajete and it was so flavorful. My husband ordered the mole enchiladas and the mole was so tasty. The rice and beans were super good too. Will definitely be back.
