Instagram: @AllAmericanJock Love this venue. We come here on Sundays for Hot Dog, a Silverlake gay party. I've always love indoor/outdoor bars, and both the patio space and inside areas are cool. Really cool lighting inside, it really feels like an authentic Mexican Hacienda. I like that the security here doesn't overpolice or oversantize gay events. If I had one suggestion, I'd suggest adding a third bar on the upstairs patio. But that's nitpicking. Super cool space, chill vibes.

Classic historical LA venue where you can experience some of the current local musical talent and Hollywood/Silverlake vibe. You may not recognize the names highlighted here but you'll love the variety of talent and enjoy the performances. Alyssad was surprisingly amazing! There's a full bar and an acceptable menu of well prepared munchies, so you won't go hungry. There's usually a couple of Quality food coaches on Sunset as well.

Total gem! Great food, great dancers, great service, authentic atmosphere and scenery. I wish I have gone here sooner.

I like El Cid. Iike it better than the troubadour. I like the vibe, and I like the margaritas. the sound is very good, and I've never had a bad time. I see pictures of flamenco happening here, so I assume that still happening and I have to go at some point to see.

Great intimate venue to really experience a band.

Went there to see my guitar instructor's mini jam session. Seating was sparse but we did find a nice booth in the rear.

Horrible service here. Came to watch a performance and paid for 5 tickets to be seated at one of the big booths, but there were 2 women already sitting at the booth. I asked the waiter about it and instead of being accommodating he said “well that’s too bad they’re already sitting there” - even though the tickets I purchased were clearly labeled “booth for 5”. The waiters name is Gilberto. He was extremely rude and condescending. Food is also overpriced and mediocre. Don’t recommend coming here.

Didn’t think I would ever write something like this but here it goes. Was having fun with my roommate, we went to the comedy show before the club section opened for the night. We got food and drinks and everything was fine up until my friend noticed a woman who looked like she worked there - she kept staring at us, following us and filming us wherever we went. We didn’t really think much of it and tried to carry on with our night, up until I was walking to go get water and I look behind me for my friend. There’s a bouncer standing in front of her saying “I’m gonna need to search you because people are saying you fit the description of someone who’s been stealing phones”. I was shocked they chose to target my friend in that manner, who I want to mention is a brown Egyptian woman, and never even looked at me, a white person, even though we had been side by side all night. After she gave them her bag and emptied her pockets and even offered to help in any way she can, they apologized profusely however this experience felt extremely disconcerting and uncomfortable. Definitely you don’t expect that when you’re going out to have a stress free night. Obviously it sucks people are having their phones stolen and security should be better than racially profiling their customers who are paying obscenely to be there. Really disappointing to see this kind of action and I feel there should be cameras in clubs where people pay cover charge to get in and there should be an alternative to dealing with this situation than singling out customers based on race or appearances. Anyways don’t think will come back as that experience left us feeling unwelcome and honestly kinda disgusted.

10-15 PHONES STOLEN ON SAT NIGHT. SECURITY SAYS IT'S HAPPENED BEFORE. Went to FUTCH. Noticed my phone was gone at the end of the night and told the bartender. He told us several people reported phones stolen too. Nothing they could do. We went to security at the front door and found other girls standing there because their phones were also stolen. Ended up being a big group of us. Security checked some bags as people were leaving but it was too late. They were gone. My partner's credit card got charged in WEHO an hour later. Could not track any phones as they were all turned off.

I’ve had many great nights at El Cid, but my last experience will dissuade me from future visits. I wanted to take a group of friends on Saturday, which is usually a very popular and fun evening. We got to the door around 11pm, and surprisingly there was no line. We asked for the cover and were told $10 by the bouncer. We asked if there was anything happening inside, and the bouncer said it was a packed party. We all paid the cover and went inside, but soon saw there were hardly any people indoors or outdoors, and a DJ playing to an empty dance floor. We quickly turned around and hoped to get our money back since we just hopped in for less than two minutes and were given misleading information from the bouncer. We passed the bouncer on the stairs while leaving and asked if we could get a refund. He scoffed at us and said “Nope!” We talked to the other bouncers at the door who were more understanding, and they directed us to contact the website. I sent a message to management explaining the situation and never heard back.

Nice space but the bouncers and security are unnecessarily rude and make exceptions for some people and not others

The door girl was visibly high and insanely rude to almost everyone I talked to. Otherwise, the staff and venue were really great. There’s an awesome patio and main room, and the bands sounded excellent. It can be a little tricky to find/park so get there early! Really cool spot👍🏻

Worst door woman in the country. Watched her try to prevent the headlining band from entering their own show and then deny their entire guest list entry. Venue is cool-looking and historic. Sound-team was super professional and kind.

Really nice show and dinner, it would've been nice that waiter offer the nicer seats since they weren't full, other than that everything was great.

I've been going to shows in this part of LA for 20 years now and this was my first visit to El cid. I came to see a Goldenvoice show with Zzzsahara and Cold Gawd. The venue is classic la, a version of the "ye Olde spain" motif circa forty/fifty years ago. It's below street level and consists of a couple of open patios and a central restaurant/venue space with a few booths at the back of the room. I'd consider it an outdoor venue for purposes of planning ur 'fit. The sound was really good, the crowd seemed like locals with a good mix of folks. They do early and late shows here so make sure you know which your event is before you arrive.

Went here for a drag brunch. It was fine. Food was pretty mid, drinks were alright but very overpriced. Stayed for the Hot Dog party and that crowd was not friendly in the least. Everyone was cliquey and rude, no one would even acknowledge your existence unless your a 10. Would come here for drag brunch again but not for that Hog Dog party. It was so exclusionary.

Honestly I would have gave this bar five stars however there are rats that openly jump around on the trees that cover over the patio so I have to take off some points for that but the vibe otherwise is super dope

Went here to see Hackle with my grandson. The good: the showroom is small and cozy, you're practically on top of the performers. 🙂 The bad: stairs, so many stairs, street parking only. The food: typical bar food, it's ok. Would see a show there again.

Excellent local taco shop. Outside seating is available, the staff is friendly, and the food is excellent and not expensive.

i luv this place so mhch the gogo dancers have a special place in my heart luved the music too beware tho as soon as u come in there is a man jus spread eagle and then the bathrooms r revilting but yknow its a bar so and then yeah great atmosphere n good ppl :D

Very confused about this venue. The information on the website is not sufficient. We arrived at 8:30 for our 9:30 ticket because we were hoping to grab food and drinks before the show. The bouncer kindly explained to us that we aren’t welcome inside until 9:30. Truly a frustrating experience! An hour to kill in LA is not a bad thing but just something I wish was clarified on the ticket/website.

I am from Spain and that place seems like it’s been abandoned 10 years ago. Very dirty, dusty, with graffiti right at the entrance, furniture falling apart… I was there before they open and it was so bad to the point of questioning myself…” am I in the right place ?” The paella has nothing to do with the real Spanish paella, the rice was way over cooked with some mussels and a couple of grilled shrimps on top. The sangria, made with the cheapest wine, those that give you a headache the next morning, the A/C extremely low to the point that everybody was eating with their jackets on. The flamenco show not even close to the ones they offer in Spain to the tourists, with explanations of some flamenco terminology like the lady did in her academy many years ago,…but over all very disappointing and not a place you take anybody to show a little taste or flavors of 🇪🇸.

This was our first time in this historic venue, and we saw Lola Young on this night .The walk down was was beautiful but not very handicap accessible since there is quite a lot of stairs. Never the less beautiful 😍 the inside has a small stage but it's very romantic feeling and intimate. It was a great show and the energy was just a great. There's an outdoor area for other shows and some seating as well.

Mediocre at best. Not worth it. A $300 tab for a 2 person dinner. The dancers were lovely but the food was bland and tasted like frozen Costco pre packages. I was so excited to finally try this place but the food and service was disappointing. I'm sure it was one great though. The place feels/ looks tired.

El Cid was a super cool restaurant with tons of live entertainment! Came here for the comedy show. It was called Comedy. Go go and it was so hilarious. It was a variety comedy show. And inside the main room they had I'm not sure what event it was but a woman singing and it sounded like she was also doing some jokes. The menu was nice and the margaritas were delicious. Afterwards they had a nightclub with a DJ. It was a super fun vibe with an inside and outside space. Clean bathrooms and friendly staff.

SUPER disappointed. This used to have flamenco shows ONLY and now you don't even post one single video of flamenco!! Prices are way too high for what you get.

Went for the Tuesday reggae night.. it was a scene.. I was early so I'm sure it gets packed in there late night.. jerk chicken man out on the patio was fire!!!!

Tried to go to my friends birthday party. They rented the place from 8-10. I showed up at 930. The bouncer wouldn’t let me in for the birthday until 1015 AND has to pay a cover charge. What a joke.

I went to watch the flamenco show with a friend. For $75 a person you get soup, salads, entree and dessert to enjoy during the show. The show includes traditional flamenco dancing and a brief explanation about the history of flamenco dance. It was very enjoyable and entertaining.

Cool artsy vibes for movie nights

While the El Cid is a restaurant establishment by day, I have attended at night where it's more of a full-on dance club. So food I can not give the best details on. As a dance venue, though, this place is nice. It has a great patio area to congregate and boogie. The interior dance floor is nice and sturdy. You are fully capable of showing your best moves without too much trouble. Go on Saturdays, which is Funky Sole. Groove to the tunes of funk and soul music played on vinyl. Old school, and hip.

I’ve been a few times, this place is a cool venue. I can’t remember having the food ever. One side is inside/outside, drinks are a little pricey. I had a good night out here though! Everytime I’ve gone it’s been for an LGBTQ event, so, they’re friendly 🌈

This is a multi-level bar/restaurant that is INCREDIBLY difficult to navigate thru, with MANY narrow stairwells to negotiate thru before u get ANYWHERE! My waitress was excellent and my appetizer tasty. But I wouldn't recommend this up & down, huge place to anyone with mobility issues! And handicapped ♿ accessibility? Dream on!

how are you supposed to conduct business if you never pick up your phone? I called 4 times, left messages and no respond.

We went for the flamenco dinner/show. The menu was pre fixed with a few options for entree. Menu included soup, salad, entree, and desert each for $65 per person. The ambience was pretty, felt very communal as most of the two seaters were very close together. I don’t think the quality of the food merited the price tag but I guess it’s the price you pay to watch the performance. Loved the show, especially when we were given an explanation of the different foot and hand movements.

I went last night and hated it. Doors were supposed to open for a live show at 9:30, but we ended up standing outside for an hour before they finally opened at 10:30. And then the main act didn't even come on until after midnight. I mean come on. $25 for the ticket and then $10 for a beer. I spent $30 on just beer while waiting for the main act to start. It was a ripoff and waste of time. I'm not going back and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

El Cid hosts a fun party on Sundays. The venue has a variety of spaces depending on your mood. The garden is a great place to relax and have a conversation.

Absolutely loved the Flamenco show! First time here and the entire family enjoyed it. We all learned lots about Flamenco dance and music. The entire staff was nice and friendly. Definitely recommend it!

Love the venue & staff. Saw a great show. The only downside was the below average drink- for over $16.

First time here with my husband. Here on Vacation n some friends brought us here to have some fun n a night out before leaving back home. Great little place, loved it.

This is a fun and chill place to go out. I've gone twice and the most recent time was a few weeks ago, we went for their Funky Soul Night. There is an outdoor bar and indoor bar, the dance floor is inside. The outdoor bar is surrounded by the patio, which has booths and tables and cute lights. We paid $5 to get in for the Funky Soul, not sure if there's a cover on regular nights. The dress code is casual.

Attended Saturday night flamenco. Really enjoyed the dancing and the explanation of the dance. Great performance and overall ambience. Friendly staff at the restaurant. We parked on the street right in front. The seemed to be other street parking options, including several in front. We came at 6pm, and the show started around 7pm. Sitting near the front is better so you can have a clear view of the dancers. Food was good. $65 pre fixe per person with the show included. Steak, chicken, salmon, seafood paella, and vegetarian paella options. We used a Groupon.

Had a good time there. Unique atmosphere with the outside and indoor areas!

Today May 7 ,2021 , I did a reservation to take my sister , and it was the most terrible experience !! the food was so bad The Paella we ate a little bit ,first we paid 40.00 online then when you get there they give you the money back on the card then they say they have a set menu we thought the paella being from Spain was gonna be good it was disgusting, the dancers my respects to the 4 dancers that they did the best to perform and animate the show , but the 45 min it the show looked so poor.at end they charge us 160.00 dlls for a small soup gaspacho that it was not fresh at all !! then a salad and then they had 3 choices we thought the paella being from Spain was the4 best choice it was horrible , and rice with tomatoe and 4 shrimps and the flavor terrrible i have to say that over and over. The worst experince ever.The desert it was a cheese cake it the only food we were able to eat.

I arrived at about 6:45p to see a show and the security guard/bouncer ( middle age pepper hair round man) was extremely rude. I happily walked up, ready to show my ticket and he told me that I couldn’t come in because the show started at 7:00pm, I literally said “okay! Great no problem! Can I wait out here?” And he said “I don’t know I don’t care!!” And rolled his eyes. I thought he was joking and then I clearly realized he wasn’t. I genuinely asked him if he was okay and then told me I couldn’t come into the show. I’m currently still waiting out here because I genuinely didn’t do anything wrong but as a hospitality specialist I would consider training your first impressions team to have a warm and welcoming spirit. He was clearly tired or frustrated or maybe he’s not being paid well but it doesn’t excuse his rudeness and entitlement.

I was just the the event on Sunday's (Hot Dog) amd I think the ambient was nice but they need to have more variety of beers to poeple to choose from, also the prices are ok but the cover I think is over price at $12.50 per person, it should be around $7 or $8 max but like I say before, the place and the ambiance is cool but it need something else maybe more friendly gogo boys? I went and I put 5 dollars to one of the gogo boys and he wasn't very friendly at all. But I will give it another try again sometimes soon to see.

Attended Hump Day Cabaret, funny up and coming comedians. Ate great paella. Street parking not too bad. No valet. Stairs down to restaurant could be challenging for some.

Attended the Flamenco dinner show (Sat. nights only), it was okay but not worth the amount of money spent. I have attended other dinner-shows and honestly we were not impress. The food had great flavor but the drinks could of been better along with the food selection and portions.

The DJ'S were awesome. Been years since I've been to El Cid.The word is getting out about the DJ'S.I expect, it's going to be the go to spot this summer. I know it will be for me.

Great place, cool outdoor patio. I'm always looking for a reason to go to El Cid. Parking is a real hassle though. Come early and give yourself time to endlessly circle the block.

First off, the show was good. The management, however, has a lot to be desired. We went tonight as first timers. There was no way to contact them by phone as I had several questions. I had to email “Ben” and received NO response. No clarification about the exact price for cover and dinner. Then they actually charged us extra $14 for a drink we never ordered! Do not recommend. Also, they have no parking lot. It was difficult to find street parking. They require covid vaccination cards stupidly. We did not have them with us. California is ridiculous and is full of sheep who feel the need to do what they are told without questioning. Sad.

IT WAS AN OLD PLACE BUT REEALLY FUUN. NICE AND ROOMIE OUTSIDE THE STAGE AND DANCE AREA COULD BE BIGGER. BUT I HAD A GREAT TIME 😊 BANDS WHERE A+

Was here to see a Concert. I was not happy with their Sound setup. Lot of the groups who performed here I can tell we're getting frustrated. They were unorganized about letting people in on time. Parking suck. I can see this place holding private events but that's it.
