The place has very tasty food. Highly recommend the empanadas!

El Coqui has been one of my favorite food trucks for a while; I’m so happy they’re opening up a permanent space. The food is always amazing. I usually just order the special, as it’s always changing and always good. If they run out, the staff is always so helpful with recommendations. Tonight, I got mamposteado instead of just beans and rice — and it was so flavorful and delicious, it was the first thing gone from my plate! Thank you for the recommendation!

Reviews so far aren't lying, this place is the truth! Somewhere Keith Lee would want to try. Stuffed Empanadas I think were the highlight but the volcano mofongo and cubed steak mofongo bowl were excellent as well. Next time I'll try the pork roast mofongo bowl which was sold out. I'll be back!

Trifongo was delicious and so was the carne frita.

Stuffed empanada and guava empanada are great! Chicken and rice with sweet plantains were great too

Delicious food , great service, been waiting for the tripletas to be back. I haven’t found authentic puertorican food near by until I found el coqui. Definitely would’ve love for them to be opened more often i wish they would have a restaurant with the food and type of service it would be a great spot. Definitely recommend. If you want to eat like we did at Grandma's house, where everything was made every day, with fresh products and a taste of the Caribbean, mountains, Bomba and plena? Well this is the right place. The staff blesses you with smiles and attention. Trip from Philadelphia to Saint Mary, just to taste delicious empanadas and fried meat!!

A little taste of authentic Puerto Rican Cuisine, the guava and cheese empanadillas, the Rice and beans, mofongo and chicharon de pollo bowl it's my favorite. Come and try their flavorful menu, you will not be disappointed.

Let me Tell you.. I'm Dominican and have been "home sick" for Caribbean food and when i learned about this place I was soo excited.. It lived up to my expectations and more.. My Boricuan pana did thier d@mn thing! I got the Monfongo w/ garlic shrimp and i am sooo full and the happiest I have been since i moved here! WEPAAA!! 🇩🇴❤🇵🇷🙌🏽

I was born and raised on a Caribbean Island and moved to this area, this food truck is single handedly the only food place that is the closest thing to the caribbean flavors i know and love. Wonderful place, friendly faces. as

You have to check this place out. The food is really good and where else will you get Puerto Puerto Rican food? Everything is fresh and the portions are generous at a very reasonable price.

After being amazed by the taste and authenticity of the PR food at the food truck, we had them cater a graduation party. EVERYONE kept commenting on how delicious the food was as they refilled their plates with food time after time. Guests went home stuffed with the biggest smiles. El Coqui made our event a complete success. Not only do I recommend eating at their food truck, but I highly suggest El Coqui for your next event! This family run business is perfect in every way!

The Volcano Mofongo is one of the tastiest things I have tried from El Coqui. I recommend it 100%.

The food is absolutely amazing, everything I’ve had always tastes delicious. Absolutely this one of the best meals I enjoy on the weekends. Highly recommend!

Great food! Great service! Everything we have had is great but our favorite are the empanadas!

We pretty much bought one of everything and I can't pick my favorite. The empanadillas were great, as was the jibarrito. The mofongo was as good as anything we had in Puerto Rico. Everyone working was super nice, and helpful with my friends who had not tried Puerto Rican food before. We drove 3 hours to try this place and we will definitely be back! Mucho gracias! Salud!

Amazing food! The mofongo was incredible, some of the best I’ve ever had (even in PR), and the fried chicken was just perfect. Super reasonably priced, and the owners were so friendly and helpful with suggestions. Could have happily ordered everything on the menu and will be back soon!

Since i can only leave one review i am updating my existing. We continue to frequent this gem of Puerto Rican delicacies as often as we can. We have been since opening day. food is always fresh, authentic preparation and nothing but amazing. The crew always has miles if smiles. I consider them budget friendly as well in today’s economy with portions that are alway more than enough. For me, the pork monfongo and beef empanadas are my go to dishes but i have not had anything that is not amazing. If you want real PR cooking without making a trip back to tge island, you must eat here. Also best mayo/ketchup around

I have been going to El Coquí since they first opened in 2020. The food is amazing! I have tried pretty much everything on their menu, and it never disappoints! From the "alcapurrias" to the shrimp stuffed mofongo, everything is delicious with authentic Puertorrican flavor. You can tell they make the food with love; and their customer service is top-notch! You won't regret giving them a try, and I can assure you, you will be back!

A little pricey but a lot better that having to travel to P.R. to get a mofongo! Authentic Puertorrican cuisine . A must try

We (me and mom) were riding around looking for this place on Friday, March 11th. We did a staycation from a different part of MD and just needed a break. It was the reviews that drew us here. I had never heard of mofungo but my mom, who had heard of it but never eaten it, suggested this dish. I will never be the same lol. Because I didn't know what it was, I thought the price was a little steep for that and an empanada...until I got my food. The mofongo was so heavy and filling that it took me 4 days to finish. I had the shrimp and mom had the beef. Mom said the beef was so tender, it just melted. Also, there was A LOT of beef in the dish, not just little sprinkles of it. I had the shrimp and expected to get about 4 pieces. Nope, it was plenty of nice size shrimp that were cooked just right; not rubbery or hard to chew. The beef empanada has a nice crispy shell but not overly greasy fried crust. The meat was plentiful and it's a nice size. For $3, it's a great, delicious, warm inexpensive snack. They were so good, bought some to bring back home. Buy 3 of them and you'll be full. Why no pics? You're not thinking about pictures while stuffing your face. There was a steady stream of vehicles coming through and ordering. I totally see why and have added this food truck to my favorites!
