For many years we have visited this place frequently and the food is always fresh and very delicious!! Always clean and very nice staff!!!

Just a good place , cozy atmosphere nothing nice or fancy just a Mexican food place that has good food without the sickness. It's no 5 star restaurant but everything I have tried is good home cooked food .

Very good! This is our go to Mexican fast food spot. The food is always good. My husband loves the Menudo and I love the tacos and the enchilada kids meal only gave four stars because they forgot the drink for the kids meal and the kiddo was a little upset. But it happens

Ordered to go. 37.00 worth of food. Watched people come and go. My boyfriend stood up and went up by the counter with no response. We left without the food after waiting through about 4 customers who came in after us. Very disappointing. This was our first and last visit. I can't comment on the food as we never got it.

The food was ok . Customer service was very bad. The owners were very rude taking orders they would raise their voice as they would speak to the customer in a very rudely manner and with attitude They took to long to bring out your order Will definitely not come back. I really like this restaurant but the quesabirrias are definitely terrible, I ordered 2 orders and regretfully realized, they are goat birria 🤢 and they should put birria on the menu because they make them because at least I went with the feint

Ordered the menudo and I was actually surprised how good it was to be from a drive thru restaurant.

It’s hit or miss with this place. I’d rather go somewhere else and spend my money on something that’s consistent because we’ve went about five times and then the last time we went, we were disappointed beyond belief and they didn’t even try to rectify the problems. They just laughed at us as we were crazy and, us like dirt we will never go back. We ordered Menudo and it was raw and no flavor and clear as if they had just added half cooked tripe into old broth and added water to it and you’re never gonna get if you treat people like that and serve bad food like that just because you ran out you ran out if you run out of stuff just don’t serve it. don’t try to put last minute to satisfy someone

We went to this This place is several times and the food was always decent and then we decided to eat the Menudo one day. We ordered a red and a white and they took forever and then when we got it, it was raw as if they just put some tripe in some Menudo broth it was raw and rubbery tripe broth was clear and flavorless and then when we told customer service about it, they acted as if we were lying and told us that the food has been cooking all day and they kind of laughed it off . It was about 2 PM and that is absolutely not true because we make it ourselves and it has never looked like that and they were rude about it so we will not be going back

I recently tried El Grullo Restaurant in Mesa and it was a wonderful experience! The restaurant had a lively and festive atmosphere that made dining there enjoyable. The tacos were delicious, especially the carne asada and the salsa had just the right amount of kick.

Used to be consistently great, but the quality has been really poor my last few visits. Whatever cut of meat they used to use for their carne asada was amazing, but its terrible now. They still have decent beans, rice, and really good salsa, but their meat is terrible now. Picante Grill across the street is 10 times better.

Family owned Mexican food restaurant. If you want the authentic type of food that will give you that feel good Mexican tradition, this is the place. Birria tacos, menudo and Carne Asada burritos are simply the best from this spot. The owner is the typical Mexican mother who makes you feel at home. Don't pass this place up. I ate with 4of us and the price was under $40 and we left full!

Soooo awesome!! We had the Super breakfast burrito it it was amazing and we will return. The drive through server was so helpful and served the burrito the way he would eat it with the pickled carrots and Jalapeños and the extra hot salsa! Go check them out!!!

Una señora Major, con antéojolas, si esa señora usted sabe que estoy hablando, bueno pues déjeme le digo que esa señora ocupa aprender sus modales quien se cree que es porque levanta la voz a la gente nomás porque le da la gana si la comida está muy buena pero aunque la comida esté buena si la persona que está trabajando detrás del vestíbulo es una persona bruta Entonces se va a estar como cuál. La señora es muy fácil de levantar la voz a mucha gente a mí, y si nomás haces eso ni siquiera sabe los a platillos que venden restaurant, o sea esta señora se alaba mande a entrenamiento nuevo

someone put their whole poosy, heart and soul into this 🔥 I had to call to see if they were joking about the prices, I thought they’d be too small of tacos but the guy said they’d fill you up .. it did 10/10 bendigas a todos ahí .. estaban bien ricos .. buen provecho For everyone complaining about grease & what not . Man shut up , go to salad & go .

I order 4 roller tacos and when I pulled up to the window he said the total was 11.50 and I told him for rolled tacos? He said it comes with rice and beans. I told him I didn’t order rice and beans and he charged me 2.29 per rolled tacos which is ridiculous expensive for rolled tacos. Thank you but I’m not coming back especially for a long wait!!

Si usted quiere desayunar, comer o cenar en este lugar lo primero que tiene que hacer es comer antes de ir al restaurante, por que duran siglos en entregar tu comida, no importa si llamas con anterioridad, se tardan de todos modos mínimo1:00-1:30 horas. Te entregan la orden equivocada varias veces. Y cuidado! con preguntar en donde está tu orden por que te pueden responder asi: Pues si quieres tu pedido bueno, y si no pues no. Con un tono terrible. Si yo pudiera poner - 5 estrellas 🌟 lo haría por que el servicio es pésimo. Y el dueño falta el respeto a los clientes. Que terrible experiencia tuve yo con mi familia. Aparte, yo no era la única a la que le entregaron comida ajena, si no también tardaron mucho tiempo con otros consumidores.

Long wait they tell you that your meal will be ready in 15 minutes when it takes the almost 45 minutes I don’t mind waiting but when they aren’t truthful that’s my issue and to top it off the owner just replied with the most disrespectful messages take a hint sir just don’t reply your restaurant was the spot to go years ago but service and food has gone down hill the past few years

This was the first time I've ever been there myself but my mom dad and sister go frequently and love it. I had the super breakfast burrito and it was the best breakfast burrito I've ever had! The tortilla was so fresh and it had ham and chorizo and egg and potatoes and cheese and it was the best breakfast burrito from any place I've ever had! I especially like the chorizo because it was tasty but was not spicy. My sister and I shared a small bowl of posole and a small bowl of menudo And they were both so delicious and very authentic! They give you all the fixings with it too. The people are friendly and speak both English and Spanish and the restaurant is clean and the atmosphere was cozy. They have menudo every day and posole everyday and all kinds of soups and burros and tortas and tacos! I highly recommend this restaurant for authentic Mexican food

I will rate the restaurant and staff as awesome, I unfortunately have not have the food yet. Judging by the amount of doordash deliveries I have picked up, the food is probably pretty good.

This is great mexican food at great prices! They are in an old fast food building, so the atmosphere is plain. Their food is so good they survived the wasted tax payers folly, which is the main street train. I avoided the area during the waste of money construction. But this business survived with great food and service. Enjoy now that the construction is over!

Ordered a breakfast burrito. Wife loved it. No pico though, which I specifically asked for, so that kinda sucked. But tasty. We'll be back.

Delicious! We stopped in for breakfast as we heard from someone random that this was the place to come for authentic cuisine. It did not disappoint! My friend and I shared a breakfast burrito as they are very large. It was made fresh, the condiments offered were great accompaniment to the meal. Would definitely recommend and will return myself. Great selection on the menu

Drive thru took 15 mins with just one car, as soon as I took a bite I realized their asada tasted like it was a day old. They use old unseasoned meat that actually got me sick. Absolutely disgusting food, NO NOT EAT, you're better off going anywhere else.

This restaurant was very clean, the food was freshly prepared, and the staff were Extremely friendly and inviting. literally the cleanest floors and dining area I've seen in a while! Great atmosphere and definitely intend on coming here to eat!

Went there for breakfast after a morning walk down Main St since it was the only place besides Denny's open at 7:30am that was close by. Nothing fancy but that's not the point. Staff were nice, the burritos were good size/quality for the price and the salsas were great. I'll be coming here again.

Wow I am so impressed with this place. Ordered food through postmates. 45 min delivery time and the wait was very well worth it! Long waits usually mean fresh food and long lines, and this place hits it on the head. Al pastor torta - 8.5/10 Comes with beans, meat, lettuce, avocado, tomatoes, chose pastor for my meat. Flavor was good, pastor got a little lost in the beans and avocado. The bread was a bit flimsy but overall very tasty and filling. I'd definitely order this again. Came with a side of rice which is 10/10 Pozole- 6/10 bug chunks of tender pork, mild broth not super spicy, comes loaded with sides ( lemons,onions, cabbage, radishes, corn tortillas, no cilantro tho) Could use more hominy. Beware of bones! Cut my mouth on a sharp one a sharp one so careful. Bean and cheese burrito - 8/10 The flavor of the beans are incredible! Tastes like my abuelas ! A really nice consistency as well. The tortilla is nice and fluffy, well cooked, beautiful little freckles of goodness. Al Bondiga 10/10 Wonderfully spicy! The meatballs are huge and packed with flavor, huge chunks of super tender but not falling apart in the broth veggies and potatoes, add a little onion and lemon and mmmm! My pregnant wife loved this one the most! The broth is so good I'd drink it out of a shoe. Came with a side of toasted bread to dip in as well! Overall 8.5/10

Was getting my tires serviced at Gunnels and was craving some chilaquiles. This was one of the only places open in the morning and I'm glad it was! Really delicious and prompt service. I'll definitely be back to try some of their other items.

Was feeling under the weather and decided to try this place because I wanted to try their caldo de res. I was very impressed! They gave a great amount of food and it was very tasty! I would definitely come to get soup here again.

Oh, El Grullo. I placed a phone order. Was told the food would be ready in an hour. Seems a little long to begin with but okay. I show up after the hour. Surprise surprise, order was still not ready. Waited almost another half hour. Nothing. I suppose I still haven’t learned from past experiences since this isn’t the first time something like this occurs. Don’t get me wrong the food is good. Not worth an hour and a half wait though. Yeah, your rush times may only happen during certain periods of the day but y’all are losing customers to such long wait times. Perhaps, this establishment should invest into running more efficiently.

So far I've had their lengua, cabeza, and pollo tacos (all soooooo good), their birria sopes and the meat burrito, their beans and omg the rice is mouthwatering! Hands down to the best female cooks. These women had so many orders they were super busy. These ladies were on point with all the orders. Very clean women, all with their hair in a bun. Didn’t taste the food, I was picking up an order. I will be back to taste the food!

First time here. A bit pricy on the burrito $9.95. No flavor. The carne asada was just small pieces of grizzle with beans and rice. Disappointed. I did like the crispy shreded beef taco and thought it was good. Will stick with that if i go back in future.

This is how you operate a business! Always a good time with El Grullo! I first came for the Quesabirrias, then stayed for the Menudo! Always flavorful! I don't know what they do to their bread (which can be requested with the Menudo), but I feel as though I need 40 loaves of it. The only pain point I have, (which is of no fault to El Grullo in particular) is that they are rather "far" from me, and UberEats and Grubhub hike up the prices so insanely that I can no longer justify ordering from El Grullo using those meal delivery services. When I'm on that side of town, I'll be sure to pick up my favorites however.
