I'd eaten at Jacalitos probably a half-dozen times with no hitches. Great food, good service & atmosphere. Today I had to walk out after sitting at my table for 25 minutes. Granted, they were slammed busy, but almost half hour waiting for a server - ¡que pues Jacalito? You're better than that.

Very, very good. The service was friendly and prompt and the food delicious. The salsas were the best I've tasted in years. I enjoyed the tortilla soup appetizer as well.

It is a very simple Mexican inn-type place, for an occasional breakfast.

This is the BEST Mexican food restaurant in El Paso. It's like walking into your Abuela's house for a home cooked meal and the sweetest staff you'll ever meet. So good, you may ask to move in, lol. I love this place! I live in Albuquerque, but I'm in El Paso monthly for work. I make sure I eat here at least twice on each visit. Oh, and come October, November and December, they have the most heavenly tamales. I swear, they are a spiritual experience. Try them and you'll see for yourself.

The food quality, the service and the people at this are all amazing. They make you feel right at home, the service is quick and the food (home made quality) is amazing.

This place is small but the food is MIGHTY!!! So delicious!!! We ordered chilaquiles, huevos rancheros, quesadillas, and a huevo con papa y chorizo burrito. The portions are good, the prices are budget friendly, and the staff is attentive and friendly. Not a piece of food was left on ALL plates. The beans are quite tasty and if I had more room in my stomach, I’d definitely get a bean burrito. We left stuffed and very content! I highly recommend this place!!!

Today’s (Saturday) breakfast special: a small bowl of menudo and a plate of Huevos con Jamon. Also Huevos a la Mexicana available with a side of menudo. Pure deliciousness on a Saturday morning. Inexpensive breakfast as well. Great customer service.

Beware. They don't honor the prices they have online. Ordered tampiqueña steak over the phone thinking it would be $9, came out to $14 each. When I asked about it at pick up, they refused to honor their online pricing. Beware.

A delightful hole in the wall place. Food is delicious. They get very busy at lunch time. Want grandma's food, go there!!

My aunt and uncle the twins and I, enjoy going to lunch. This time I wanted to try out a different Mexican Restaurant. My Aunt knew where to go. Chicken Enchiladas. All three of us ordered the same thing. The meal comes with Caldo de Rez. Great decision tia.

The food is great taste like homemade

If you like hole in the wall this is your place. Was there for Saturday morning breakfast and the huevos rancheros did not disappoint. The bigger surprise was breakfast came with a small bowl of menudo. I am not a fan and have done research around town to change my mind. This place had the best menudo in the city, hands down. Very small location in south El Paso. Absolutely worth a try. Cannot wait to return for lunch!!

Really enjoyed my breakfast. I had the Migas plate with a flour tortilla and loved it!! Reminded me of my time in Austin only these were better. Jessi was very nice and kept that coffee cup filled. Then space has a very welcoming, local owned neighborhood vibe going on. Very affordable and daily specials. I’ll be back!

If you want authentic El Paso Mexican food and ambiance this is as close as it gets. This is go-to place in El Paso, very close to the County Court House. You may sometimes run into the El Paso Mayor and other officials. El Jacalito is always packed for breakfast and lunch. You always have "Great Especial" with some Tacos de Molida and Pollo En Molle today. The decor is simple but bright and cheerful with some Mexican paintings on the wall of rural Mexico. The food is old world Mexican that is consistently good with real authentic flavors! The service is super friendly and cleanliness is one of the paramount of El Jacalito. Portions are generous. It definitely belongs to our local restaurant treasure!

People are great foods sucks. It's just straight up bland I've come here multiple times to give it multiple chances but everything I get taste bland

This is my place for Lunch in El Paso. Try the tortilla soup. When I am in El Paso I make it a point to eat here.

My comadre got over easy eggs instead of the scrambled that she ordered, her husband got beans in his burrito when he didn't want any. Other than that food was good, service was excellent.

They have aguas and liquiados that taste delicious. They were able to accommodate my family of 16. The lunch specials include a caldo, meal, and postre. Decently priced and the staff was very friendly.

My wife and I have lunch here at least once a month. The Caldo Tlalpeno is one of our favorites. The tacos are also delicious.

If you're craving a taste of Mexican home cooking, then this is the ace. For a minute there, I thought my mom worked there because of their tasty food. The only thing slightly negative would have to be it's location. Got to out of your way to get there.

Easy to spot, good aguas Frescas and homestyle cooking

La comida muy rica, buen sazon, las meseras bien serviciales, solo un pequeño detalle en el Plato, (la presentación no estubo buena) pedí steak tampiqueña y el plato llego todo salpicado de la salsa roja de la enchilada, la verdad fue desagradable, entiendo que talvez estaban atariadas porque si estaba lleno el lugar, pero la presentación de un platillo es importante, por lo demás si me gusto, y es la primera vez que visito el lugar.

Food is good prices are not bad just get there early it's always full.

This place is a hit or miss. I've been here several times and there are days the food is good and other days it lack passion. The service is good, they just forget about you after they serve your food. Another thing. But this is just my pet peeve, the straws are smaller than their cups for either tea or refreshment. You might as well drink directly from the plastic cup.

DIRTY! DIRTY! DIRTY! CLEANLINESS UNACCEPTABLE Unfortunately, waitress cleaned a table, carried away dirty coffee cups by putting her fingers in them. Didn't wash her hands and proceeded to the pick up window to take food plates and serve them to hungry customers. I'm surprised people aren't getting sick here. BEWARE!

Down to earth home style Mexican restaurant. Really enjoyed their food. Had their Gorditas plate special and was very pleased. Came with rice and beans and extra trimmings. Let's not forget the chips and salsa at no extra cost. Loved it!
