Place is disgusting inside and out, nearly condemnable. Food was so nasty I couldn’t finish it. Even if it was good it would be hard to eat it with all the flys and gnats landing on the food. Service was good but it’s not worth the E. coli I’m probably now afflicted with from eating there.

Second time here for dinner. Good food, fresh, fast service. Would return. If you can overlook the decor, which is not important, it’s a fine local restaurant.

I love this place. People are nice and food is great.

I was only there once and that's because my Co workers insisted. The service was good and food was really good but I seriously had to force myself not to think about what the kitchen must look like. I literally cringed when I looked around the joint..it's a total $#!/hole!! How does this place even pass an inspection with the health dept.??? All I can say is, they must be blind or taking bribes!!

The lady that waited on us was nice and friendly. The food wasn't bad, but my gosh. The place outside is falling apart. I don't understand why you wouldn't keep a clean business. I wouldn't bring anyone there from out of town. I can't understand why they neglect the outer appearance so badly. Cleaning up and weeding is free. Paint is cheap. Show some pride in the business. The inside is almost as bad as the outside. Pull up that gross carpet for some tile floor. Sadly I doubt we go back. The food can be a 10, but if the cleanliness isn't good then I'm out. There were also lots of flies the entire time we ate. Highly doubt we return.

It's like they don't even try. Our waiter was impersonal at best. Seemed like he just wanted us out of there, and the table was cleaned and resat before we could even leave the tip. I think El Jinete thrives only because it is the only Mexican restaurant in the area. The food is generic. The $4 guacamole was probably purchased from the nearby Walmart. The restaurant is dingy-looking, and the speakers only play music in the back. Just drive to MD.

We go here a few times a year and the food is always amazing. Not to mention, the servers are always pleasant and try to make you smile. Keep up the good work.

I came here with my friend, and the atmosphere was great. The service and the server were both fantastic. My food came out fast and incredibly delicious. The portions were huge. I couldn't eat it all. I had enough for another meal at home. The homemade chip dip they make is awesome. I will recommend El Jinete to all my friends and family. It was worth a trip without question. I met the owner, and he is a very nice gentleman who really took care of us on our visit. If you're ever in the area, make it a must place to eat, you won't be disappointed.

The food is always good but the margaritas are missing something,... tequila. They taste like straight sweet and sour.

Filthy roof caving in waiter was rude and food was horrible. They used can shredded chicken in my quesadilla. They gave a white sugary sauce for chips??!!

Been eating here since I first moved here from Florida 7 years ago. Always get the same thing, never disappoints. The owners/servers/hosts, etc.. very nice people as well. I used to deliver to their house when I worked at Domino's.

Food & service are consistently excellent. Food is also VERY reasonably priced. Food is always served in a short amount of time. You will always get your money’s worth here. I’m not sure what’s in the white chip dip, nor how to describe the taste. But I can’t find it anywhere else & it’s amazing!

Lunch specials were delicious and cant beat the price. Throw in a couple frozen margaritas and we wished we weren't just passing through and could become regulars. Super friendly folks and great food.

We really enjoyed our dinner at El Jinete, the waiter was very polite and helped us with our special diet requests. The food came quickly,the portions were generous, reasonably priced and delicious. We liked it so much we came back a few days later on our way back home to DC and ordered a few extra meals to enjoy later in the week!

So I was here with a work group for a team meeting. We were in the middle of some boring topic (I can't remember, and I probably wasn't paying that close attention anyway) when all of a sudden, a MOUSE runs across the floor. Now, I'm not talking like a Mickey Mouse or a Redwall mouse, I'm talking a real-life, flea-ridden, disease-laden country mouse. So the server comes in to take our drink orders, and our team leader says, "Uh, there's a mouse under that booth!" He glances over, says, "Okay" and proceeds to take our drink orders! It was so funny to watch everyone's faces for the rest of the meeting. Looking back on it now, you'd think I'd never go back, but I've been back many times since, and will definitely be back again soon. In spite of it all... yeah, 3 stars.

Are you serious this is in the top five restaurants in town? This will go down as one of the worst Tex Mex restaurants I have ever eaten in. Authentic Mexican cuisine???? NOT even close to anything authentic. The only positive note is the food and as quickly served. Other h the Han that the government air staff must have been on break after we gave our orders. I would NEVER waste my time or money here again! RUN RUN RUN!

Party of 5 with 2 don't like the food, 1 okay and 2 best ever. I was one of the ones that loved the meal. Order the Fajitas del Mar. Wicked good. I recommend and would return except my wife didn't like her meal or the "Land of Lakes" cheese on her 2 enchiladas.

Visited Keyser twice in the last 2-3 weeks and make it a point to stop in for authentic Mexican food. Very tasty, reasonably price, great service , and very friendly staff. Highly recommend.

This place is OK. You don't have a lot of diverse options in Keyser and sometimes Mex-American is just what you need.

Visiting Keyser area for the first time to do some walking on the ADT. During these adventures, we like to hit local restaurants instead of chain-stores, so we chose El Jinete for something different on this Saturday evening around 5:30pm. Service was quiet and infrequent; we had to ask for the check at the end and there was no query during any part of the meal as to our satisfaction (and we noticed the same lack of treatment for all of the other guests). However, the food was good and reasonably priced. Worth it if you like American-type Mexican food, but not a place to hang out and enjoy a meal.

This location has been a hit or miss type of deal but this afternoon the food and service was awesome, only complaint is its kind of chilly inside the restaurant and the guy waiter could be more friendly! Family friendly, great place to eat and best food in the keyser area.

Was at the restaurant got our food they messed up one of the orders we thought they was redoing it but 20 minutes later we brought it to the waitresses attention her response was just scrape off the beans onto another plate. Now we had company from out of town and bragged about this restaurant for us to have service like that I was very embarrassed in front of my friends. Was not very pleased at all.

It is a nice place to come with friends or family. Staff is very nice. The food is wonderful and everything is reasonably priced. Even at busy times there is very little waiting.

Very casual dining with every component being “authentic Mexican.” Nothing is flashy or fancy, but for casual dining with very good taste, in a relaxed atmosphere, this is a good place to go for lunch specials or dinner enjoyment!

My son went to this restaurant everyday for lunch as we lived in Keyser and this was his spot. I went with him this day to have lunch also. Their white sauce for their nachos is delicious. And I forget what I get there but the lunch is delicious also. Great place for Keyser people that likes a little spicy lunches or dinners.

Prices were very reasonable. The staff was very attentive. The food was authentic Mexican style food. My wife and I will definitely go back to eat there again. The exterior is a little rundown and its proximity to a major intersection makes it hard to pull into the parking lot sometimes. But it is worth it!
