Goes there about 1time every 2 weeks for the nacho supreme they are so good an the staff there are so nice a pleasant atmosphere

LOVE El Maguey (formerly Mexico Lindo) as our #1 go-to restaurant for 25+ years. Flavors are YUMMY across any of the many menu items. Favorite? Burrito Banderas: Super delicious with beef tips, chicken, and pork topped with cheese dip, red and green sauce. It's so huge, it can be shared! Service is consistently exceptional with friendly and attentive staff. It's a casual place to hang out and enjoy a relaxing meal. (P.S. Review applicable to ALL locations.)

Foods okay. Slightly overpriced. Salsa has no flavor outside of tomato sauce. Service is terrible. I’ve been here 7 times now. Busy or slow the servers are ok where to be found. I’ve currently been sitting here for 20 minutes waving at every staff member I see for my check but no one will acknowledge you. Literally 5 other tables in the place rn and I can’t get service from the 4 staff memebers running the floor. Absolutely ridiculous

Great food choice fajitas falcon. Sala needs work. It needs to be thicker or more chunky. Overall, it's not bad.

Horrible experience. I ordered a 8.25 taco salad with chicken, expecting to pay an upcharge when I asked for shrimp instead of chicken. I didn't expect that upcharge to be nearly $8. They decided to charge me for a different meal that had chicken and shrimp options. The whole meal. I suggested that the difference between the chicken and shrimp versions was a more reasonable upcharge. They countered with a side of shrimp I could put my own chicken salad for an additional $5+. Unreasonable price gouging, but hey, it's their business, the can run it however they want. It will be without my business.

This is the 2nd one of these I've been to and while my daughter calls this her "go to" Mexican restaurant, I'm underwhelmed. Not a lot of spice so no heat at all in the food or the salsa. I ordered 3 chili rellanos and the serving size was large and cheesy, but not very flavorful...no "yum" moment!

We order margaritas. The mixer was watered down. They keep it on the counter and place ice in it to keep it cold. When told about it, the hostess rolled her eyes at us. When told that the cheese was also watered down, the hostess again rolled her eyes at us. All we asked for was the alcohol to be removed. We didn't drink enough to be charged for. We tried to eat the food. We have been to several El Maguey's, and this one is the worst for hosting and food. Will not go back to Raytown again. STOP TRYING TO MAKE A PROFIT. MAKE GOOD FOOD AND DRINKS. THE MONEY WILL COME.

Severely watered down Margarita mix, and when we brought it to their attention, they brought me another watered down Margarita. Cheese in the food seemed watered down in the Nacho plates that were ordered. This was the second time that we had been to the restaurant where the food left us unimpressed, not what we expect from an El Maguey. And when we asked to speak to the Manager, we were told that the manager was too busy to speak with us. Needless to say, we will not be back to this restaurant

My wife ordered off the website. When I got there they told me that the price was different. Tried to tell me that I was going to have to pay more for the same items. If they change their prices they need to change the price on the internet. You can't sell something on the internet for one price and then when your Customer gets there have the price changed. Not to mention I've been going there for over 20 years. First time I've ever been to any restaurant that they tried to change the price when you got there.

Family and I LOVE El Maguey! Atmosphere is great, food is great, prices are great staff is great. It's one of our Regulars

I visited recently on a Friday night, where they were quite busy. The chips and drinks were prompt, copious, and crunchy. Even though they were busy. I ordered the Tacos de Carne Asada. They came with the green chile sauce that was quite nice. And they gave you quite a bit of meat and they weren’t overloaded with toppings. Was it mind blowing? No, however, was the seasoned nice and was it worth the $12.99, sure. We were charged appropriately, and the waiter took good care of us, so would I go back? Sure.

Don't love this place, last time I ate there they gave my baby bad rice

This is a nice place to eat especially for tacos

Been here twice and finally need to leave a review. 1) They are efficient and nice. The whole staff is helpful with your service. 2) Their food is fantastic. 3) The portion per dollar is unmatched these days. My wife and I weren't super hungry and wanted to eat out for our date night. We split some nachos thinking that would be enough. It was more than enough. We had leftovers!

I came in with my husband tonight at around 830 and the service was rushed and made us feel like we were not welcomed. My husband end up dropping his drink at the door because they rushed us out. Poor service. I do not recommend on a late night

This is the second time I got my steak fajitas and they had no seasoning. My boyfriend's carne asada tacos were the same. Super bland and hard to eat even with salsa. We went to the store and got our own taco seasoning to give it flavor. Not sure why things have changed recently but it's not been for the better.

Had dinner on a Wednesday night. We went early, like 5:30. By 6, the place was packed. 'Nuff said!!

Nothing had seasoning on it. The ground beef in the tacos and on the tostada was watery and bland. How is your mass produced purchased salsa bland as well. At minimum the chips were crunchy. Money wasted but know it won't happen again. Had tacos (beef and chicken), tostadas (beef) and a steak "burrito" that had all the requested toppings on the side while the "burrito" was just a soft taco with bland overcooked meat inside, no burrito fold or anything 😞

#ElMagueyMexicanRestaurant was a great find after a very long drive. We found it close to our hotel. The restaurant happened to be busy, a good sign, but we were seated right away. The menu is substantial many choices to consider, but in the end The Restaurant had the Mexican dish I was craving. #PolloEnCrema chicken with a cream sauce. This one had something new, besides the mushrooms, green peppers and onions it had #broccoli yes, Not what you think as Mexican food ingredient, But it totally worked with the dish. They grill the veg and chicken which made the dish richer. The dish also came with Mexican rice, lettuce, and pico de gallo. I ordered a jumbo #margarita and enjoyed it very much. Buzzing. My husband ordered the #CaldoDePollo Chicken soup with chunks of chicken, rice, pico de gallo, tortillas. It was yummy. He enjoyed it and so did I. The soup was very comforting. In typical Mexican restaurant expectation the restaurant had complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were warm from being recently fried. The #salsa was mild but it allowed you to add heat from a bottle of #habaneroSauce I was so glad to find El Maguey Mexican Restaurant we found the place easily and they had great food and friendly service. I would visit again when in town. #kansasCity #RayTown

If your looking for authentic Mexican food this is not the place to go. Everything we ordered had zero taste to it as if they didn’t put any seasonings on anything. My grandma would love this place. You can tell they cater to the white people crowd by the unseasoned boiled chicken. And plain tasteless beef. Service was awesome I will say. Very fast and friendly and beautiful looking inside. The food just is tasteless.

Not good customer service. Lied about what was on my food that I said I didn’t want. & yelled at me.

I did a to go order and put on there no onions or pico due to allergens. And the lady specifically said it when she handed me bag. We got home and there was onions in the meat. When I called they said they’d remake and to bring it back. Then they were extremely rude!!. Claims there’s onions cooked in all the meat, but the meat’s pink and not cooked all the way.

The service was slow but the server was nice. Food was just ok at best. My burrito tasted like it had tomato soup poured on it and the meat inside was very dry. Chips tasted almost stale. Overall a very disappointing meal

I went to get a DoorDash order from here and they weren't busy at all, maybe 4-5 tables with at least 3 or 4 servers that I saw, a manager and I seen 3 cooks, but I still waited almost 30 mins for the DoorDash order!! I SO wasn't happy AT ALL and made me decide I won't be going back for any reason, especially personal

Delicious food, great Margaritas and staff are very friendly and efficient.

The chips were way over cooked and waitress didn't want to listen when asked a question.

We used to love this place! Last time we got the enchiladas the sauce literally tasted like canned spaghetti o sauce. I still tipped but we won't be back

I stood there for about 3 minutes before anyone greeted me. Then I had to wait a long time for my food. I had to also pay extra just because I wanted it to go.

The El Toriado is my go to.. it has all the best stuff! Chicken, bacon, beef, shrimp, rice, and cheese sauce. Soo delicious, eat it like that or make into tacos. Quick, attentive staff.

I was with a large party. When I ordered my food I asked for sour,cheese & cilantro on the side. I never got it... my cousin sitting next me asked for a refill on water 3 different times, she never got it. We're not sure what the issue was. The waiter never asked anyone at our table was there anything else he could get us. I've eaten at this restaurant many times and always had good service. Maybe the waiter was having a bad day.

I ordered the Nacho Supreme. I got home , less than 5 minutes away. I had no napkins, no eating utensils, the food looked like a plate of garbage, I had to hunt for the nachos which were soggy and very few. Because I was tired and hungry, I attempted to eat it anyway. As I'm writing this review my stomach is very upset 😡 and making a lot of noise. This is my second time tryjng this place, never again.

Food is good but could have been better for the price.

Been coming here for years. Today I got the Taco Salad Fajita with no onions. The brought it to me with onions hanging out of it. I showed the waiter (Hispanic guy with blonde hair) the onions. He took the Taco Salad Fajita, brought the exact same one back to me after the onions were picked out of it and said here you go, no onions. That was trifling as heck and I did not appreciate the fact he got a real nasty attitude with me when I told him that I did not want it because he picked the onions out.

This is one of mine and my husband's favorite Mexican restaurant in the Northland. I've found their food and service to be consistently good.

El Maguey is a Raytown classic and one of my all-time favorites! I always get the fajita nacho mix with an extra helping of their cheese sauce. I swear, I love that sauce so much, I could drink it! The food is amazing and the taste hasn't changed a bit since they've been around. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this WONDERFUL place. 10/10 would recommend!

Steak Jalisco was good. Chips and salsa were lousy. Salsa tasted like plain tomato paste, no heat or flavor. Chips had no salt and were thick and tasteless. Waiter was not friendly. Front windows were filthy.

Came here after a horrible day at work. Instantly greeted with smiles and seated less than 2 minutes coming in the door. Placed our order and was brought chips and salsa. I had the chicken fajitas... delicious. Date had a meal that came with pork, but he doesn't eat pork so the meat was substituted with no issues. I had the jumbo margarita and he had the monster. With drinks and entrees our meal came out to about 57.00.

My whole family loves the El Toriado here. We were pleasantly surprised with how good the Banana and Peach Margaritas are.

Pretty common American Mexican style restaurant. You know what you're getting before you walk in. Food's always hot, and tastes good.

For the love of God, don't get the combo meals. I had a number 11 and there must've been a pound of un seasoned hamburger in there. It was basically a can of enchilada sauce poured over tortillas and hamburger meat. Judging from what I saw other people getting, I think I just ordered the wrong thing.

Super attentive and welcoming service. The chicken in my enchiladas tasted like it had been chopped and grilled in my mother's kitchen. If you like spice, I recommend mixing one of the bottled sauces into the house salsa. While tasty, it's very mild.

A staple in Raytown. Never disappoints. Super fast.

I will be calling tomorrow so you can compensate for all the disgusting mistakes you Restaurant's made. I'm Appalled you cant get a single take out order correct

Very good mexican. I like the taquitos, but the enchilada sauce is pretty solid, cheese enchiladas and rewardingly thick, and salsa (hot and regular) are good. Portions are generous as well, and prices are extremely reasonable.

This is just a terrible place to food has no taste not even the chips have no days the sauce is terrible the food is so bland it's like you're going to a nursery or old folks home a senior citizen home and having blind the food there is no taste

The best thing is my food came out super fast. The service towards the end was slow. Food was good. Also most dishes do not come with rice and beans. You will have to order that separately
