Last week was my first time ever eating here. Officially my new favorite Mexican restaurant. Was seated very fast, the waiter was very sweet and checked on us multiple times. The food was AMAZING! Loved how open everything was! The best margarita I’ve ever had!!

Friendly staff, excellent variety on the menu, and the food is always fresh and flavorful! Add on that they are always able to accommodate however large a group we bring (often 15+) quickly and efficiently and El Mariachi is my family's Go-To restaurant in South side!

[[Wed.14.Feb.2024]] Wife and I had Valentine Lunch, this will be the first time at the New location in the Division Street Plaza since they moved from the Pike Street Southgate Plaza due more n likely to Camden Clark Hospital / WVU Medicine buying out the Southgate Plaza area. Food was Good, it was Cooked, Prepared and Plated correctly, waiter was very Accommodating and Helpful. The new location is very spacious and with lots of Natural Lighting from the large Plaza Windows, it was Clean with Great Flow around seating areas. There was some minor construction still going on at that time, but really did not interfere with customers. I think they well do well at this location due a major grocery store Krogers is located same plaza.

Have eaten here several times and the food is always great. The service is also very quick. Always love bringing the family here

Waiters were extremely attentive, food was fantastic and the decorations were on point. I’ve been to plenty of Mexican restaurants, but none could even rival this place. Rice was phenomenal.

The staff here are soo friendly, they treat the community like family. The restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere and tasty food.

The service was the worst I have ever experienced in a restaurant. When we explained that that only half of the meal was served and the other half was served only after asking the manager/part owner said we were complaining about nothing and that there was two other Mexican restaurants just down the road. Food quality was ok but nothing worth being treated like crap. I hope no one makes the same mistake as we did and eats at this restaurant in the future. I travel for work through out the US and never experienced this type of service.

Food was great! Actually stopped there twice in the 5 days I was in town. Service was a little sub par compared to most places but the food makes up for it

I went here for my boyfriends grandmother’s birthday with his family. This was a party of 8. I asked for my check to be separate because I was the only non-family member attending (you will see why I mention this later). The waiter was more than happy to do that for me. The service was very polite, courtesy, sincere, and accommodating. The food was great. It was very flavorful and came out in a timely matter. We got there at about 4 and were finish by about 5 o’clock which was perfect for me since I had to be to work right after we got done eating dinner there. The only thing I would say rubbed me the wrong way was the check. I looked through reviews on here and saw no mention of it which was surprising. They automatically give themselves a 18% tip which I understand because it’s a small business and honestly with the food and service I think that’s fair since they were very good with food, time, and service. I noticed it in my receipt so I didn’t additionally tip since they already tipped themselves. My boyfriends parents who paid for seven people did not notice this occurrence. So not only did they tip themselves but they also got a 35 dollar cash tip and a tip charged to the card that his mother added on at the end of the receipt. Which good bad or indifferent you can say is her fault for not reading through her receipt throughly to notice the automatically charged tip. However, when the person charging doesn’t mention it until after a card transaction I find that unfair to the consumer. So they made out with a tip of about 40-50% of what their bill was. Which would be fine if that was what his mother was wanting to tip but it was definitely not. Not saying this is uncommon in business or illegal, but noticing the large amount only after the transaction is made and then a patron asking their consumer “you know that it already charged an gratuity tip?” Sits wrong with me.

Waiter was polite but did not understand us when we ordered. He had to get another staff member to come to the table to have us repeat our order then translate to him. Our food was great. Good dining experience, will go back again.

Love the atmosphere but the food is going downhill

Great Mexican restaurant that's been in town for years. The menu has a wide variety that includes tex-mex, street tacos, chicken, seafood, and alcoholic beverages. The prices are a good value and the addition of Doordash makes it easy to order ahead and pick up.

The food is always good and they are careful when preparing the vegetarian options, nice friendly atmosphere as well.

Love this place. The girlfriend and I go here often. Maybe about once a week. Beer is a little expensive, margaritas are reasonable(and strong). Have yet to have a bad meal here though. The Pico De Gallo soup, Chipotle lime chicken, and the new Mexican cheese steak I would say are her favorites. In our opinion, the best Mexican food in the Parkersburg area.

My absolute favorite Mexican restaurant around. The servers are great! They know how to keep a smile on your face! The food is great, large portions at a very fair price. We've been hear more times than I can count and the food has NEVER been incorrectly made or bad in any way. My husband is quite picky so that's a huge bonus that when he says no beans there are no beans. The homemade salsa and chips that come on the table is very well made, it's a mild salsa. They serve alcoholic beverages as well as a few bottled drinks or fountain pepsi products. Atmosphere is awesome. Family friendly. Occasionally there is a mariachi band playing.

Very clean, nice quiet place to eat. My wife took me there for brunch on my Birthday, May 9th. I highly recommend eating there.

The menu is very similar to all the other Mexican restaurants around. Food is excellent prices are about average. Staff are very friendly. Would recommend this restaurant.

This restaurant is out in West Virginia and was my dad's favorite Mexican restaurant. Having been there myself, I agree with him. Caribbean chicken salad was good. As were the margaritas.

I didn't care for the salsa, literally tasted like crushed tomatoes, Very soup like and no cilantro at all. Our meals were quite good. Service left a little to be desired, and time from order to food was ridiculously lengthy. I'll give it another try in the future...maybe

I always love this place and will always return. The waitress was very nice but not super socially friendly, which is just a preference in what I look for at a restaurant. Had to wait for drinks a few times. The plate I normally get (quesadilla San jose) has shrunk immensely in size over the years. I can't decide if this is a pro or con but probably more profitable for the business and a better serving size for customers.

Best Mexican food I've eaten out here and Ohio , and we only waited about 5 minutes for our food , and the service was excellent would definitely recommend It

I've only been here twice, but both times it was some of the best Mexican food I'd ever had! The salsa (which is my favorite part) was delicious and not too spicy. They also gave us a good amount, which if you're anything like us, you can practically drink the stuff! I got a steak-fajita quesadilla, and it had MUSHROOMS in it! That is so rare for most restaurants, and totally sold me. Also, they did NOT skimp on the cheese. I just wish it were closer to me, I'd be eating here all the time! The only thing I would complain is that the building is a little dated, on the dingy side. But it's been a while since I've been there, so it could've been renovated since then.

El Mariachi is a gem authentic mexican restaurant in Parkersburg. Easy access off the interstate. Our server, Uri, kept great attention to out table, without interrupting. His service was extraordinary and my husband was glad we took his recommendation ordering the Texas Fajitas.

It seem strange to be there and not as many patrons. Coronavirus has cut the restaurant business down. The food hasn't changed and as always excellent.
