Meat was tender and savory. Very delicious and true to the Peruvian flavor. Staff was very attentive and even though they were busy seated us quickly.

I absolutely loved this place, the food tasted so natural and fresh, and I actually felt the Peruvian flavor that I don't really get in other places 😋

I went there to try Peruvian food, the food was good and the service was good too, the price was moderate, the place was clean and neat, I noticed that they started with fresh bread and the salsas had a spectacular flavor & traditional. The parking is free & available. Great experience

If you are Peruvian and have already tried the real taste of Peruvian food, this place is probably not the one for you. The taste of the ceviche and the lomo saltado will disappoint you, the best thing they have is the service, the waiters are very friendly and attentive.

Charges there own tip if you have a family of 6! One being an infant! Good food but not good service!

The only option they gave me to give my opinion was to choose a Star. The truth is, and with regret, I would not have included any. I knew this restaurant when it was very good, unfortunately the experiences prior to this one were less than average so I stopped coming. Today I wanted to test if they had improved, but I'm sorry to say no. We asked for something very simple. A little throw. They had no idea what they were preparing and a jelly that only looked like jelly but had no Peruvian flavor just like their tartare. Sorry, but I need say that.

I hate to say but not a happy experience. Being a peruvian i was disappointed. This is my second time. This time I took my sister , we were crabbing for a fresh ceviche. The fish had a funny, i didnt want to believe it so gave it another try. Nope still weird. I left it aside and started eating the Lomo Saltado that was delicious. We had a good waiter but he looked very busy so i didn't have the chance to complain about the ceviche till the end. My sister just arrived from Norway so we were chatting away. So when i complained the waiter tells me oh should it tell me sooner. He saw the plate and he said but you ate some. I said of course thats how i found out the weird taste and there was fish left over still in the plate. Anyways i didn't want to insist and paid $70 bill. I thought he come back and give us a discount or at least small dessert but no. I'm not going back there anymore. I felt embarrassed in front of my sister. I hope this doesn't happened to other people. Also if you don't like something don't eat it and have them serve you something else.

We came here on Sunday ~6pm and no waiting time. My friend said there was always a line during work days. The portion is big but not that tasty to me. Seafood is fresh tho

I've been going to this place for years. I loved this place so much that I'd go twice a week. Now the food sucks. I had a lomo saltado and the veggies were undercooked, meat was hard and dry. The tallerines verdes and anticuchos we ordered had no flavor.That orange aji that used to be so good was nasty. I don't know what happened to this place but definitely not going there anymore. It is the first and last time that I visit that place, the food is all good, the service is terrible and the atmosphere is not at all pleasant.

The best peruvian food I've had. Hands down the best Peruvian dining experience in the South Bay. For most people their only experience with Peruvian food is with El Pollo Inka or Inka Wasi. Those establishments are not necessarily bad, but the quality is inconsistent. If you want high quality Peruvian food for a fair price El Roccoto is the place to go. Lomo Saltado was perfect, the calamari was crispy and the Bistec A La Pobre was cooked to perfection. Don't bother with any other Peruvian restaurants. You'll end up paying for a lackluster experience. Bistec A La pobre should be more than edible *cough* Inka wasi. Eat inside or take away. The chefs here at El Rocoto take pride in their craft. 10/10 would buy again. Folks come here ASAP. Side note for owner: put a little more red vine vinegar in chimichurri.

The atmosphere and service were pleasant, the food was good in general, but the taste of the causa and the chaufa was not entirely pleasant, the drinks (chica and passion fruit) were very delicious.

Delicious! A bit more pricey than similar places but it is worth it.

This is probably the best Peruvian restaurant that you can find in LA. I had been looking for a restaurant that had pasta a la huancaina and I finally came across it here. The fettuccine a la huancaina is now probably one of my favorite dishes in the whole city. The lomo saltado is also really good. Would definitely this spot for someone who is looking for some good authentic Peruvian food. The prices may seem a little high but everything is totally worth it, you can taste the quality in every thing. Service is also really good and fast. There is also plenty of parking so that is not something that you should worry about.

Delicious food and drinks...but poor service specifically in groups ..today I bring my friends and many complaints...

Prices went way way up, portions were reduced way way less unfortunately I've been coming to this place for at least seven years service has gone down food is less than it used to be and the prices do not justify it! I will not continue to give them my business and will definitely not recommend it either we gotta let restaurants in general know I will not be buying what they're selling el rocoto used to be good but serving less and hope customers won't noticed is a gamble that will not pay off!

Today my partner went to buy 2 lomo saltados and a chicken chicharrón and the truth is terrible, the lomo was dry without onion or tomato, the burnt dry chicharrón was terrible.

I visit this restaurant often. The food is outstanding and the service is good. Great variety of menu options and everything is prepared excellently.

I loved this place, the food is homemade. I tried the rice with seafood and the squid chicharrón. The food is freshly made, good ingredients. I also had the opportunity to try their cocktails, the pincho was delicious, the attention is as if you were in house, the owner is very kind.

The family and I have now been to El Rocoto twice. The first time, I thought it was good but not out of the ordinary. I was a lot more impressed the second time around, for whatever reason. I've had the bistec a lo pobre, the pollo/lomo saltado, the tiraditos de pescado, and the ahi de gallina. My favorite thing I've eaten has been the ahi tuna tiradito. The fish is fresh and the marinade is delicious. I also really enjoyed the pollo saltado last time around too. I'll be back to find out more about the rest of the menu. Service is great, and this is a nicely decorated spot that fits both a casual weeknight dinner or a special occasion like a birthday or anniversary. It runs in the range of $20+ a plate, so more expensive than a hole-in-the-wall but reasonable.

This restaurant has an unpretentious atmosphere, but the food is really delicious. Five stars for everything 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 The service is great, and the smiling, lovely working woman speaks Japanese well and is very attentive. You can enjoy a wonderful dinner with peace of mind. When I ate in last month, I wanted to try it again, so I ordered takeout today. Repeat confirmed!!

Hours shone here are 11pm, we drove 30 minutes to find out they close at 930.

In my opinion and as a Peruvian palate, this restaurant needs a lot of improvement in terms of the preparation of dishes, service and atmosphere that has nothing from Peru, that is why I give it a star.

El Recoto has the traditional Peruvian food plates. The lomo saltado was excellent. The beef was cooked perfectly with just the right amount of char and very tender.

I order for pic up after I got home my order was incomplete, missing salsa criolla .. I call the restaurant I was on hold for 10m plus a lady answer and hung up on me ,I call back and a guy answer the phone I told him I drove 1 hour to pick up my order am missing the salsa criolla , he said sorry nothing I can't do is just a small side and hung up the call....

The tip is voluntary, it is not obligatory, and I didn't like that they forced the tip and I won't go like that again.

Just an observation Correct the Saturday hours because it says that it is open from 11:00 am. Put from 930:Am.

Definitivamente si volveré, pedimos una leche de tigre, una jalea y un tacu tacu especial ( viene con lomo al jugo montado) y estuvo todo muy bueno..

Soy peruana, y esperaba más del lugar porque me lo recomendaron; pedí tallarines a la huancaína, ceviche y trío de causas. El ají amarillo brilló por su ausencia, los tallarines solo tenían sabor a leche, el ceviche estaba un tanto amargo y pues el trío de causas sólo eran papas aplastadas. La verdad no me gustó 😕 ni el refresco de maracuyá estaba bueno 😥.

Hoy tube la oportunidad de conocer este Restaurante Rocoto me encanta la comida peruana pero aqui nada que ver pedí un arroz chaufa y estaba feo le pregunté a la mesera con que podía acompañar mi plato de arroz chaufa y ni ella sabía que recomendarme no me gustó para nada la comida NO LO RECOMIENDO PARA NADA

La cocina a bajado demasiado,cambiaron cocíneros?un sudado horrible muy subido de aderezos y colorantes,lo devolví y me lo cambiaron por un lomo saltado que si falla eso ya no ,y salio peor que el anterior,carne muy frita, cebolla cortada como para ceviche,se paso de sal...es una lastima,siempre los recomendaba,pero Rocoto si no cambias fueron.

Ordene un "pescado a lo macho" hummmm! Estuvo regular, no creo que lo vuelva a pedir.

Unique food and very warm services. One of uncle and titas favorite restaurant for 30 years. Susie... one of the servers still works here after 30 years. Goes to show how this restaurant treats its staff... that they still stay even how long. Great civicies

El horario a cambiado, sería bueno que el restaurante actualice el horario dias de semana cierran a las 8:30pm. He visitado este lugar unas cuantas veces, de lo que he probado todo ha estado delicioso, lomo salteado, carne a lo pobre, bistec asado encebollado, cebiche y los postres están igual de deliciosos, nosotros estamos encantados con los picarones. El personal que siempre nos a atendido es muy pero muy amable y no hacen diferencia alguna en atenderte. 100% recomendado, algunas veces más que todo el fin de semana es de esperar una mesa, más si es para varias personas. Pero vale la pena.

Pesima la atención, no solo por que es lo que pidas , su menú está para cualquier horario , cuando pides y llegas al local no te ofrecen mesas , y hacen sentir discriminado por el como vengas vestido . Su comida a bajado de calidad Terrible attention, not only because it is what you ask for, their menu is for any time, when you order and arrive at the premises they do not offer you tables, and they make you feel discriminated against by how you come dressed. I like the Peruvian food. We had the calamari, mixto criollo ceviche, Pollo Saltado, and Oxtail Fettuccine for the dinner. The food was a little too much for 3 of us. But everything was so delicious. The staff were nice and the atmosphere was good. We were able to make the reservation by phone. We will go back to try other menu soon.

The location and overall look of the restaurant were nice. Service was mediocre and a bit rude. We were given white bread rolls and some dipping sauces. Weird I have never gone to a peruvian restaurant that served bread and not the tasted corn "cancha." Didn't eat it anyway as it was hard. The chicha drink was great. For appetizers, we ordered anticuchos and a trío of causas- one out of the 3 was awesome, which was the tuna tartar. The other two crab and chicken we just tasted and left. Entrée plates we had a "Tallarin Verde" with what was supposed to be meat but cam out with bread chicken. And a "Pollo a lo pobre" it was okay. Used bathroom and noticed none of the stalls had toilet paper. I asked a gentleman near a prep area if he could restock the bathroom so I could use it, and I was ignored, and he just walked back into the kitchen area. Overall, I would NOT go back.

The place is small, and if it gets buisy, you may fall between the other guests, the food though, great, love it, great flavor, decent portions. I'm not sure if it's better than the local favorite - Pollo inka since I haven't tried it in a while, but definitely worth coming back

food is amazing here and has been for a very long time. service was decent, but had to wait awhile for the check, and for water, and i fe the atmosphere has changed since they remodeled. it feels more like a cafe instead of a restaraunt.

I had never tried Peruvian food before and I was pleasantly surprised. The food was great, very flavorful. And the waiter was very attentive.

Order Pan con chicharrón they get upset if you ask the bread to be package separate don’t want it together since is to go it will be saggy and watery also I order French roll additional and pay for it and was given small bread that one they place there when u eat lunch .lomito Al jugo watery and no flavor not enough meat .Manager Claudia not helpful or profesional need to have better customer service or switch manager no manners she is rude and careless.

They served with a large portion of food. I loved their ox tail with pasta, Sea food corn chowder and porch fish tomatoes.

Food was great and authentic. Ordered causa, platano fritos, aji de gallina, and chaufa especial. It was all really good. Would recommend to anyone that’s interested in having great Peruvian food. Menu items also had brief description for each plate which is helpful for those that are not very familiar with Peruvian cuisine.

Recently enjoyed a fabulous business lunch and found the food and service to be outstanding. Lunch-time, especially when you arrive early was not very crowded but the place did fill up towards the end. As one our guests spent a few months in Peru I'll take it on their authority that the food was authentic. All I know is it was great! Would have given 5-stars if the coffee service included espresso, cappuccino, latte, etc.

We got a spread of things, which included the fried yucca, potato croquettes, and ceviche exotica. The food overall was on the pricier side but it was a legitimate restaurant and the service was really nice. For the entree, we split the lomo saltado and the aji de gallina. The potato croquettes came in 2 and were quite large (and tasty). They also give complimentary bread with a green and a red sauce, both of which were quite flavorful. I think the lomo saltado was decent; the aji de gallina was on the sweeter side.

Aunthentic Peruvian cuisine in south bay

After hearing about how good the food was, I had to give it a try. I ordered the tiradito of halibut, which is a Peruvian sashimi. The fish was far from fresh. The main course of lomo saltado came next with a complete lack of seasoning. The rice was more like Japanese mochi than actual rice. I give it three stars to not disrespect the service, because it was impeccable.
